Jon Stewart Blasts Congress Over 9-11 Victims Fund
June 11, 2019
Comedian, commentator and advocate Jon Stewart is blasting lawmakers over their lack of action on health care for 9-11 first responders. Stewart spoke following a congressional hearing today to reauthorize funding for the 9-11 victim compensation fund. The fund that provides benefits to first responders and others dealing with illnesses related to the 2001 terror attacks is running short of money. The bill currently being considered would lock in funding and increase past payments to people sickened by toxins during the recovery.

Jon Stewart was exactly right in DC today. As we force taxpayers to give free school and medical to those here illegally and as we force taxpayers to fund abortions, we somehow can't figure out how to take care of 9/11 first responders? Disgusting.— Joe Pags Pagliarulo (@JoeTalkShow) June 11, 2019
