Missy Elliott Offers Reward After Losing Diamond Necklace At VMAs

Talk about going from an extreme high to a deep low.
The MTV Video Vanguard Award recipient took to social media Wednesday (August 28) to ask her fans and anyone who was at the Prudential Center in Newark on Monday for their help in finding the assumingly expensive piece. "Anyone found this necklace at the VMAs backstage or know anything about it there’s a reward it’s the shorter one… thanks," Missy captioned a photo of the necklace on her Instagram Story.
While it's unclear when Missy lost the necklace, Missy was reportedly spotted wearing it during the VMA broadcast.
Despite losing her necklace, Monday was a special night for the legendary artist.
The living legend made fans work it, lose control, and get their freak on at the VMAs with an iconic performance of her greatest hits. The 15-time VMA winner began her performance with her latest single "Throw It Back," showing the world how a real one puts on a show. Missy then segued into her 1997 classic "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," gracing fans with the comeback of her famous inflated-garbage-bag suit.
The 48-year-old hip hop icon then took fans back to 1999 with her hit "Hot Boyz" before transitioning into "Get Ur Freak On," which brought camo-realness to the VMA stage. Next up, Missy surprised fans with a cameo from the one and only Alyson Stoner as she performed "Work It" alongside the dancer who got her start in the 2002 music video.
"Pass That Dutch" was next on the track list before Missy ended her unforgettable performance with everyone's fav, "Lose Control."
