Judah & The Lion's Judah Akers is getting his friends together (while staying six feet apart, of course) for a special benefit this weekend. "Friends At Home Fest" will be hosted by Akers, who will be joined by his bandmates Nate Zuercher and Brian Macdonald, plus NEEDTOBREATHE's Bear Rinehart, AWOLNATION, Jon Foreman, K.Flay, Devin Dawson, Mat Kearney, Raelynn, Colony House, Andrew Ripp, J.J Redick of the New Orleans Pelicans (Akers' basketball hero), Tyson Motsenbocker, Dusty Slay (Akers' favorite comedian) and Family + Friends.
The Instagram Live event takes place Saturday (May 9) from 4:30-8pm CST, and donations made will benefit the Recording Academy's MusiCares, United Way, and CrewNation.
"Join Judah and friends as they play songs, catch up, and have a good time all from a safe distance 💛" the band wrote in an announcement on Instagram. "Proceeds collected during the festival will go directly to helping musicians and crew members unable to tour due to COVID-19."
See the announcement below.
The Lumineers have also curated an impressive livestream event, "Colorado Gives Back," which will feature the likes of OneRepublic, Jewel, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Denver Broncos legend Peyton Manning. The stream goes live Friday (May 8) on The Lumineers' YouTube page. Get more info about it here.
