Empire star Bryshere Gray was arrested on domestic violence charges in Arizona on Sunday (July 12).
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor, 26, was put behind bars by the Goodyear Police Department following a 911 call placed by a woman identifying to be his wife. During the call, the woman claimed that she had been assaulted by the star, who played Hakeem Lyon on the Fox show, around 10:15 p.m. In a press release for the incident, the woman said that she made the call after being given a ride by someone she flagged down at a gas station. She reportedly had "numerous visible injuries" on her body and even claimed that Gray strangled her to the point where she fell unconscious.
When authorities arrived to the scene, the star refused to come out of the residence and discuss the altercation. He was booked in Maricopa County jail on charges of aggravated assault, assault and disorderly conduct.
