Liam Payne Talks Maya Henry Engagement: 'We're Just Really Happy'

Liam Payne is reveling in his new engagement to girlfriend, Maya Henry, after dating for two years.

For his virtual appearance and performance on Thursday’s (September 3) installment of Good Morning America, the pop star, 26, spoke about the reports of their new milestone. "We're just really happy," he said of the coupling. “The last week, I just had a birthday, and my son is going to school for the first time today. Seems like a lot of firsts for me, really, which is great."

Last week, the UK's Daily Mail published photos of the couple at London restaurant Novikov with word of her sparkler from an insider. "It was hard to miss Maya’s ring. It's a real dazzler," the source told the celebrity gossip outlet of the ring, which is reportedly worth around $3 million. The two were romantically linked in August 2018 after Payne split from Cheryl Cole. The two share a son, Bear, 3. Payne came forward with his romance with Henry just a month later in September.

Elsewhere in the appearance, which included a performance of "Midnight," Payne chimed in (again) on the possibility of a reunion for One Direction, but he didn’t have much to say. "As far as reunions go, I don’t know too much," he said. "I got wonderful birthday messages from everyone, which was really, really nice."
