Kristen Bell took to Instagram to encourage others to wear a mask to combat the spread of COVID-19 as part of Oakland County’s public education campaign.

Bell, who’s from Michigan, is teaming up with the county to promote health protocols as part of its “The Only Way To Beat It Is To Face It” awareness efforts, made possible from a CARES Act grant.

“Here’s the good news- things WILL get back to normal eventually. They will! But, we’re not quite there yet,” Bell wrote. “By wearing a mask, you can decrease the risk of COVID-19 transmission! We can beat this virus if we face it together – OakGov.com/covid. #oaklandtogether#FaceIt#COVID

The campaign started on December 7.

Michigan has reported more than 504,600 total COVID-19 cases and more than 12,300 total deaths as of Tuesday (December 22), the latest data available.

“COVID-19 safety measures remain paramount and we’re so excited that Oakland County native Kristen Bell is lending her voice to magnify this message,” County Executive David Coulter said in a statement. “We are at the beginning phase of dispensing the vaccine which brings hope and an extra responsibility for us to mask up, socially distance, and wash our hands so we can get through this and keep our communities safe.”
