Thomas Rhett And His Wife Lauren Go All Out For Christmas

It's no secret that Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins love this time of year! The couple and their daughters, Willa Gray, 5, Ada James, 3, and Lennon Love, 9-months, go all out when it comes to Christmas decorations and traditions.

In a previous interview with his record label, Rhett explains just how dedicated his family is to celebrating the holiday season.

"It is really intense. It stays on — it’s not ABC Family anymore — but it stays on Freeform, and I swear it’s nothing but Elf 20 times in December and all the Harry Potter movies and the old school Rudolph," Rhett says of the family's favorite films leading up to Christmas. "We get the biggest tree — I mean sometimes it hits our ceiling and bends. We’re like the Griswolds."

Rhett notes that while he loves Christmas himself, his wife's adoration for the season is on another level.

"Lauren loves it, and we always have an ugly Christmas sweater party every year and we invite 100 of our friends over, and it’s always a really good time," the singer shared. "We love Christmas!"

This year, Rhett's family will be celebrating their first Christmas as a family of five. Earlier this month, Lauren turned to Instagram to document the family's visit to a local Christmas tree farm, sharing an adorable family selfie.

"Weeee gottt onnneee," she captioned the photo, adding "officially it's the most wonderful time of the year."

The festive family outing was just days after Rhett and Lauren co-hosted this year's annual CMA Country Christmas special. The special, which aired on Monday (November 30), featured performances from some of country music's biggest stars including Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Gabby Barrett, Tim McGraw , and Darius Rucker with violinist and singer-songwriter, Lindsey Stirling.

With the new year right around the corner, Rhett recently took a moment to reflect on 2020, sharing that he's grateful for some of the "silver linings" that have come from it.

"You know, 2020 has definitely been hard in many ways, especially for a lot of different families who have either lost work or people that have been on the front lines working in hospitals, or teachers trying to teach three-year-olds how to learn their letters and their numbers," he said. "But for us, I think 2020 has had several silver linings, and for me, I think I was going at such a rapid pace that 2020 definitely forced me to slow down. And so I hope I can take that mindset back into 2021."
