Atrium Health has begun vaccinating more frontline essential workers as part of a three-day mass vaccination event at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers. The medical provider partnered with Honeywell and Tepper Sports and Entertainment for the event, WCNC reports. From Tuesday (March 9) to Thursday (March 11), they expect to vaccinate 14,000 people in total.

"By offering people a vaccine, we're offering them hope," said Becky Fox, Atrium Health. "It's an opportunity for them to look at the future differently, to plan to get together with their family, to plan to gather with friends and feel safe going out to work, to go into the grocery store."

That's exactly the feeling that many people had during the first day of the event.

"You could feel the energy in the building getting so excited," Stephanie Dillard told the news outlet after getting her vaccine. "I want to jump up and down, I want to cry, I want to scream it to everybody. It's the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm really excited for everybody."

The event at Bank of America Stadium is open for eligible residents in Groups 1, 2, and 3. Check here for more information.

Atrium is hosting another clinic over the weekend at Johnson C. Smith University, where they will administer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. For more information about this event, or to register, visit Atrium Health's website here.
