Frankie Jonas has bravely confessed that he contemplated suicidal while battling drug and alcohol addiction.

In a new TikTok video, the younger brother of Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas revealed that he hit a low point almost two years ago and thought about taking his own life. "This is by no means the eloquent explanation I hope to give on a much more serious mode than this. However from a very young age I struggled with drinking and drugging as an escape because I hated life, and I didn’t want to be here," the 20-year-old sibling said in a video response to a user who asked about his experience with addiction. "I eventually, after many years of trying to kill myself accidentally, came to a point where I was going to do it for real."

Thankfully, the former child actor admitted that "something intervened" amid his struggles, which prompted him to enter treatment and ultimately "saved" his life. "I couldn't be more grateful for the fact that I'm alive today because my world has changed so beautifully and so astronomically, and I am not that person anymore," he continued. "I couldn’t be more grateful that I’m alive and happy."

Back in 2016, Jonas was hit with some legal issues when he faced a marijuana possession charge at 16-years-old. He was arrested in Nashville and "extremely remorseful" about the incident.

In an earlier post, Jonas referred to himself as a "sober drug addict" and admitted that his attendance at Columbia University is something that he's not entirely sure about. "I don't belong there. It's okay that I feel that, but it doesn't make me less than anyone else, it doesn't make me more than anyone else," he confessed. "It's also good to understand that imposter syndrome can sometimes lead to a messiah complex, and that's not good either. But it's okay to be in the middle."
