It's a notorious saying, "don't mix business with pleasure" and now there's science to prove it!

A study by Wayne State University in Michigan, tells the Wall Street Journal that emoji's mean different things to men versus women.

Here are some stand out findings:

• A surprised face with eyebrows raised looked slightly positive to men and slightly negative to women.
• The neutral face with the line for a mouth looked neutral to me but negative to women.
• The smiling face is seen as positive for both men and women, but it is found to be more positive for women.

The study resulted in proving men and women use emoji's differently and perceive them differently.

So next time your replying to a group chat or texting your boss you might want to think twice about what your emoji's say to them.
