Watch Ukrainians Rock Out To Bon Jovi As They Prepare To Defend City

Ukrainians have again been shown on social media rocking out to a classic rock song as they defend their country from Russia's invasion.

In a new viral video, a group of Ukrainians can be seen building a blockade of sandbags in the city of Odessa while blasting Bon Jovi's 2000 hit "It's My Life," with a live drummer playing along.

Bon Jovi's official Twitter account shared the stirring footage on Tuesday evening, quoting the lyrics, "This is for the ones who stood their ground," and adding the Ukrainian rallying cry Slava Ukraini, which translates to "Glory to Ukraine."

Many Ukrainians are fleeing Odessa as it comes under attack from Russian forces.

There's no shortage of appreciation of rock music in Ukraine, even in these dark times.

About a month ago, it was reported that Ukrainian forces were also using Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" as a battle cry.

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider was quick to voice his support for the country's "righteous" defense effort, adding that they are welcome to use any of his music if it helps.

"I absolutely approve of Ukrainians using 'We're Not Gonna Take It' as their battlecry," Snider wrote at the time. "My grandfather was Ukrainian, before it was swallowed up by the USSR after WW2. This can't happen to these people again."

The U.S., along with many western nations, have repeatedly condemned Russia's military operation in Ukraine and imposed severe economic sanctions against the country and many of its oligarchs.

On Wednesday, the U.S. formally accused Russian forces of committing war crimes in Ukraine. Secretary of State Antony Blinken cited several instances in which Russian forces intentionally targeted building occupied by civilians, including apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, shopping centers and ambulances.
