Kanye West is no longer participating in Coachella.

According to a report TMZ published Monday, April 4, Ye has officially pulled out of the music festival just two weeks before the event is scheduled to begin. The rapper reportedly has not provided an exact explanation for pulling out of the festival. However, according to the report, Travis Scott, who was also expected to appear on stage with Ye during his set, is also not performing at Coachella. With both artists gone, the festival now has a serious hole in it's star-studded line-up.

Kanye West was announced as a headlining act for Coachella the beginning of January. Since then, Ye had threatened to pull out of the festival because of comments that singer Billie Eilish, who's also headlining Coachella, said during one of her shows that appeared to reference the tragedy that happened at Travis Scott's Astroworld music festival back in November. Ye mentioned Eilish's comments in an Instagram post and threatened to pull out if she didn't apologize.

“COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN," Ye wrote in his post at the time. “TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED. AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM."

Eilish responded and said that she wasn't mentioning the Astroworld rapper at all and was only trying to help a fan. However, no other form of apology was issued from either artist. Ye has not said if this is the reason why he's pulling out. However, we're sure the rapper or someone from his camp will explain in due time.

Prior to his resignation from the festival, a petition to have him removed from the line-up surfaced in the midst of his social media war with Pete Davidson. At the time of this report, the petition was just a few hundred signatures away from reaching its 50,000 goal.
