Will.i.am has been cooking up something that not a lot of rappers get to do, and it doesn't have much to do with music.

On Thursday, May 5, Will.i.am debuted his brand new WILL.I.AMG vehicle collaboration while surrounded by his famous friends and esteemed car connoisseurs at a kickoff event for the inaugural Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, which is happening this weekend. The Black Eyed Peas rapper showed off his customized Mercedes-AMG GT Sedan for the first time at the brand-new Mercedes-AMG Experience Center in Miami's Design District.

After he debuted the one-of-a-kind vehicle, Will.i.am also revealed never-before-seen scenes from his upcoming documentary DRIVE that will debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The doc will detail his experience making the rare car with a team of engineers. During the event, Will.i.am discussed the inspiration behind the collaboration. Of course, he attributed some of his inspirations to his past as a Hip-Hop artist as well as the legends he grew up with like Rakim, who used to rock a Mercedes-Benz logo on a chain. He also cited his I Am Angel Foundation as another source of inspiration and described why the collaboration means so much to him.

"The foundation that I have and the kids we support in the inner city where I come from," Will.i.am said at the event. "I really try to push kids to go down this path of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics so they can prepare themselves for this technological tomorrow. Anything I can do to show them that this is what it looks like when you're from the inner city and you do get to design or you have the opportunity to manifest your ideas. We can add to society. We can be tomorrow's engineers. We can be tomorrow's AI programmers and scientists. We just have to put ourselves in that lane and drive fast."

Race car driver for Mercedes Lewis Hamilton was also on site to support the rapper's event along with other big names like his former Black Eyed Peas rapper Apl.de.Ap, DJ Khaled, Jamie Foxx, Ludacris, Waka Flocka Flame, Southside, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. After the big reveal, Swizz hit the DJ Booth and kept the party going while the drinks from the bar kept flowing.
