Randi Mahomes, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, revealed the difficulties she's faced since her son's emergence as one of the NFL's brightest stars during an appearance on The Mom Game Podcast last month.
Randi, 48, said she was envious of people living normal lives, specifically mothers with sons the same age as Patrick, 28, and her other son, Jackson, 24, a social media influencer who has faced scrutiny amid his brother's superstardom.
“I look at some of my friends on social media and I’m jealous that they have this normal [life],” Randi said. “Their kids are the same age as Patrick and Jackson, and they have this normal situation and we don’t. It’s super difficult.”

“As much as I say we’re blessed and Patrick’s living his dream, it has been the hardest seven years of my adult life,” she added. “It’s been really hard to juggle…being proud of him and the hate that you get and the kids get. I can’t even explain how hard it’s been. I’ve cried a lot. I struggle with it.”
Randi shares Patrick and Jackson with her ex-husband, former Major League Baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes Sr. and has a daughter, Mia Randall, 12, through another relationship. Patrick Mahomes is just months removed from winning his third Super Bowl in five years during the Chiefs' win against the San Francisco 49ers in February.
The former Texas Tech standout threw for 333 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 34 of 47 passing. Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl MVP and two-time Associated Press regular-season MVP.
