Woman Allegedly Fights School Principal After Dropping Baggies Of Cocaine

An Illinois woman was arrested after allegedly attacking an elementary school principal. The Rockford Police Department said that 33-year-old Shakeda Barfield was at Welsh Elementary School for a meeting with the school's principal on Wednesday (September 11) morning.
During the meeting, Barfield purportedly dropped several baggies of cocaine. When the principal saw the bags, he told Barfield that the police were being called.
Barfield then became angry and allegedly attacked the principal, punching and biting him and trying to strangle him with his own tie. The school was placed on lockdown during the incident.
The principal suffered multiple non-life-threatening injuries in the attack.
Police arrived and took Barfield into custody on numerous charges, including possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, aggravated battery and strangulation, aggravated battery to a school employee, and disorderly conduct.
She is being held at Winnebago County Jail without bail.
