Every year, Lake Superior State University releases its Banished Words List highlighting words and terms that are overused, misused or simply unnecessary.

Sisanie shared on-air these are the words and phrases we should stop using in 2025:

CRINGE - It’s so overused…it’s is cringe to say cringe.

GAME CHANGER - It used to mean things that are a really big deal…now it’s used for everything.

ERA - No more eras. No more “Bridal Era”…no more “Sweater Era”…no more “Candle Era”…

DROPPED - Albums can come out in many ways, they do not have to “drop”. They be “released” or “introduced” or “made available”

100% - Instead of just saying “I agree with you”…and the same goes for 1000% or a Million percent.

PERIOD- Like, "It's the best show on TV, period." We get it. Let’s find a new way to end sentences.
