We all know the importance of sunscreen this time of year, but some of the stuff we’ve always believed about sunscreen is a myth:

"HIGHER SPF’S ARE BETTER": SPF 50 blocks 98% of UV rays. SPF 100 blocks 99%. Experts say to use anything above SPF 30 and reapply every 2 hours.

"SUNSCREEN BLOCKS VITAMIN D": No sunscreen blocks all rays. You’ll get plenty of Vitamin D.

"A BASE TAN PROTECTS THE SKIN FROM DAMAGE": Any time you spend in the sun without sunscreen raises the risk of developing skin cancer.
