HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO ALL WHO SERVED I personally want to thank you for your contribution to a fighting force that has kept our land safe and helped other nations escape tyranny as well. Watch it here and I'm glad she did the interview because she really explains why she does what she does compellingly. I don't believe a word the Mayor says about not paying attention to her site. If he doesn't, shame on him for sticking his head in the sand about what is really happening in his city.

DPS'S ALEX MARRERO IS LYING The Superintendent of Denver Public Schools is applying to other jobs and lying about it. How else to explain how Chicago Public Schools has apparently chosen him as a finalist for their top job? This article from Chicago not only names him, but uses a photo of him just so we're clear. That article quotes Marrero as saying he is remaining in Denver, leaving only one finalist for the top job there. This after last month he was rumored to be leaving for New York City Public Schools. At a bare minimum he applied to both jobs, and I'm guessing that was to use as leverage to get the outgoing board to extend his contract and give him ridiculous protections on the votes needed to fire him. But he is applying for other jobs. How does his contract NOT have a clause preventing that from happening? Good grief, MY contract prevents me from applying for other jobs during my contract period. This dude is shady as hell, incompetent to boot and I wish he'd leave so some other district would be saddled with his race baiting, grievance based leadership. I've been through multiple Superintendent hirings in my career and one does not get chosen as a finalist if one doesn't apply for the job. Period.

COLORADO MOTORCYCLISTS ARE DYING TOO MUCH And there is a lot of finger pointing about who is to blame but ultimately a motorcycle rider has chosen a form of transportation that is inherently far more dangerous than driving a car. That's just a fact. And now that we legalize lane filtering it seems a lot of young motorcyclists have decided that means lane splitting and that's not only illegal, it's super dangerous. Add in speed issues and inattentive drivers and you've got a recipe for a huge increase in motorcycle deaths and that's what we've seen in Colorado. Read more here.

MORE BUILDINGS SELL AT BARGAIN BASEMENT PRICES IN DENVER Want an office building? There are bargains to be had in downtown Denver. Two buildings that sold for $205 million and $195 million in 2020 just sold for $28.7 million each. This is not good news for downtown Denver. Or maybe it is. Maybe the new owner will do something innovative and interesting right up until they run out of money trying to retrofit these buildings to meet the new green energy building codes in Denver.

THE SUPREME COURT DECLINES TO TAKE UP GAY MARRIAGE And did so with nary a comment. This is good news for the gay people who have gotten married and were worried that Obergefell v Hodges, the case that legalized gay marriage nationwide, would be overturned. The former Kentucky Clerk of Courts who refused to sign gay marriage certificates has lost her final appeal. Good, now we can all move on.

A FORT COLLINS CHURCH HANDLES A SEX CRIME THE RIGHT WAY I know non religious people love to talk about pastors being predators and unfortunately sometimes that is true, but this story our of Fort Collins does have some good news. A youth pastor at a church called Ascent Project turned himself into police after confessing to church leaders that he had a sexual relationship with an underage student. The church leaders fired him, then took him to police. That had to be a really hard thing to do to someone you hired and probably liked, AND SOMEONE WHO IS THE PASTOR'S BROTHER, but they did the right thing for everyone and I think that deserves note. I hope the teen involved gets through this and that man in question uses this to make better choices going forward.

CHINESE SHOPPERS ARE FEELING THE PINCH LIKE WE ARE And their equivalent of Black Friday is happening now, and it's not going as well as hoped. From the article:
