Julia Roberts Has The Best Response To Standing Ovation At Golden Globes

Julia Roberts is still America's Sweetheart.
The Notting Hill actress received a standing ovation at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 11) when she walked on stage to present one of the biggest awards of the night.
Roberts made her way to center stage near the end of the night to announced the winner for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy shortly after losing her own category for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama award to Hamnet's Jessie Buckley, who also heaped praise on Roberts during her acceptance speech, calling her a "hero to us all."
As she appeared in front of the crowd, many of the night's attendees stood up and applauded the After the Hunt star, and she hilariously played along, encouraging others in the audience to join in, per People.
"Thank you," she said. "Yup. Everybody! Let's go! In the back! Come on!"
Roberts continued to show her gratitude for the warm welcome before joking that the impromptu tribute will go to her head.
"I'm gonna be impossible for at least a week," she quipped. "I appreciate that."
The Oscar winner shifted gears to the night's celebrations, calling out the achievements from the past year and expressing how 2026 will only build on the creativity and artistry of filmmaking seen in the past.
"What a great night. What a beautiful night to be an artist," she said, looking around the room. "This is 2026. We're going straight to the top on this."
