Parker McCollum released a highly-requested track from his upcoming deluxe studio album on Friday (January 23).
The award-winning country artist delivered the fan-favorite, “Big Ole Fancy House,” which he wrote with Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey. The song is “centered around the theme that material things in life mean nothing without someone to share it all with,” and serves as “a powerful reminder that the most valuable thing a person can have is someone to love them,” states a press release issued Friday morning.
“Y'all been asking for this one for a while so I'm glad it's finally getting to you,” McCollum said in a statement. “Took a couple of times of cutting it before it felt good enough to release, and I think I got it the way it should be heard. Appreciate all the love everyone has shown this song. Means a lot.”
McCollum, whose wife is pregnant with Baby No. 2, includes “Big Ole Fancy House” and three other new songs on the deluxe edition of his self-titled record. The Texas-born hitmaker debuted PARKER MCCOLLUM in June 2025. His fifth studio record includes “What Kinda Man,” “Hope That I’m Enough,” “Killing’ Me” and more. PARKER MCCOLLUM “is a reflection of his authentic artistry and shows an evolution of poignant storytelling against a musical backdrop that anchors to a traditional, yet still contemporary, sound,” the press release states.
“I feel like it’s all very self-reflective and just kind of being super honest with myself, and it’s kind of an easy way out of the question, but it’s really true,” McCollum said of his songwriting inspiration when catching up with iHeartCountry over the summer. “You know, just not trying to do anything other than whatever the hell it is that I do…however it is that I do sound like, and just letting that happen, exist, and kind of letting it rip whenever you get int he studio and stop worrying about it so much. …I really feel like I was able to just kind of stop giving a damn and be myself on a record…It worked better than anything else I’ve ever done.”
The deluxe edition of PARKER MCCOLLUM will arrive on March 20. Listen to “Big Ole Fancy House” here:
