HARDY joined forces with “a lineup of absolute legends” — Morgan Wallen, Eric Church and Tim McGraw — for a collaboration that demonstrates “superstar storytelling.”

The group released “McArthur” on Friday (January 30) after cryptic teasers prompted questions from eager fans earlier this week. HARDY wrote the song with Jameson Rogers, Josh Thompson and Chase McGill, and Jay Joyce produced it. The all-star collaboration “traces the changes of time and lineage across generations,” states a press release issued Friday morning, pointing out the lyrics: “My bloodline they bled on this ground/ Soon we all find that's where we're all bound/ And Father Time, don't leave anyone out/ When you pass on, what you gonna pass down.”

“'McArthur' is a very special one,” HARDY said in a statement. “It came together pretty fast. I know I wrote the song, but I also feel like how did I end up on this song? It's a lineup of absolute legends.”

HARDY, Wallen, Church and McGraw first stirred anticipation for the collaboration on Monday (January 26). Each artist posted a vague teaser with references to a fictitious McArthur family, including birth dates and death dates; however none of them offered additional information at that time.

  • John McArthur b. November 2, 1920 d. November 22, 1963
  • Junior McArthur b. September 2, 1945 d. April 4, 1967
  • Jones McArthur b. June 5, 1968 d. January 5, 2025
  • Hunter McArthur b. May 13, 1993
