J. Cole says he was "disgusted" by the debates over Drake and Kendrick Lamar during the height of their beef.

On Monday, March 24, The Breakfast Club debuted an exclusive clip from Cam'ron's forthcoming interview with J. Cole. During their conversation, Cam said the discourse surrounding Drake and Kendrick's beef got "out of hand" and asked Cole if he agreed. The Fall-Off rapper agreed to an extent. While he declined to weigh in as a creative, Cole said he was "disgusted" by the way fans forced others to choose between both powerhouse rappers and tore down Drake in the process.

"Right away, the world became like politics," Cole explained. "You either Democrat or Republican. You either Kendrick, or you Drake and you got to pick a side. And I felt like the n***a that was disgusted both ways, damn near."

"When you say 'did it get out of hand,' it's like creatively that's not my place for me to say," he continued. "The 'out of hand' that I think, to me, is disgusting, how people try to use that opportunity to show how they really felt about Drake the whole time, or just like pile on and tear this dude down and create a narrative as if he's not great. It was a whole campaign and probably still is to this day."

J. Cole said he still loves both artists equally. He said he feels proud of Kendrick for everything he's accomplished, from his cultural moments like "The Pop Out" and his Super Bowl performance to his wins at the 2026 Grammy Awards. On the other side, he also hates that Drake is being dragged through the mud consistently.

The sports podcaster sat down with Cole several months after he sued him for refusing to properly compensate him for his verse on their collaboration "Ready '24." During the interview, both artists talk about the lawsuit, Cole's new album, and more. Cam'ron's interview with J. Cole drops Wednesday at 10 p.m.
