April 9, 2026

PJ Morton is back with his brand-new single, and it's iHeartRadio's latest World Premiere.

On Thursday, April 9, the multifaceted musician debuts his second single of the year, "Mercy." The uplifting song has him singing about seeking redemption after God blesses him with another chance at life. A choir backs his soothing vocals as they flow effortlessly over a piano-laced instrumental.

"Almost lost my life, but you made death behave," he sings. "And I don't understand why cuz I know I don't deserve it/I failed so many times, but you still think I'm worth it."

PJ Morton dropped his new gospel track exclusively on iHeartRadio's Hallelujah stations. In addition, the New Orleans crooner also shared a preview of his upcoming music video. The clip shows Morton delivering his opening verse while standing in front of a church.

"Mercy" is the second solo track Morton dropped this year. The Maroon 5 member recently shared his previous single, "Mutual" along with its accompanying music video. Both songs will appear on his forthcoming 10th solo album. Morton hasn't confirmed the title just yet, but it will serve as the follow-up to his 2024 LP Cape Town To Cairo.

Before he dropped his new song, PJ Morton performed all his hits at HBCU Aware Fest in Atlanta, where he shared the stage with Common, Jill Scott, John Legend, Yolanda Adams, and more. He also celebrated his birthday by performing in front of his loyal fans at Blue Note Los Angeles.

Listen to PJ Morton's new single "Mercy" all day today on the iHeartRadio app and look out for the music video on April 10.
