4/17/26 Blog: How Do Budget Cuts Equal A Three Billion Dollar Increase?

IT'S AN ASK ME ANYTHING DAY BUT I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU Let's talk about the theme song for a moment. I'm thinking of changing it entirely. Should we just pick a song everyone knows? Or do we have the theme song recorded by Rick's band? I love it, but I've been told by people I greatly respect it might be time to move on. I'm genuinely torn. If I were to choose a new theme song, what should it be?

HOW IS A TIGHT BUDGET THREE BILLION DOLLARS MORE? We've been told over and over again that there is a massive budget shortfall this year in Colorado and yet the newly approved budget grew by THREE BILLION DOLLARS? WTF? CBS did a story on it here.

AND WHAT WERE THOSE BUDGET PRIORITIES? Rep. Scott Bottoms writes about the messed up priorities the Democrats have when it comes to budgets. Caring for our most vulnerable? Cut. Care for illegal immigrants? Intact. This should give Republicans a lot to run on.

BO NIX WROTE A LETTER To his baby daughter that was published on a site called The Players Tribune and oh my, it got me this morning. If you want to know the inner workings and the very strong faith of the man we call QB, you should really read this. This is part of it:

Some of your best learning will come from challenges and disagreements — from conflict. That happened this year, too. Lean in and don’t be afraid. You can have different ideas than someone and still work together. A real discussion with a coach or teammate is not a bad thing. Rooted in respect, it can help you and them reach greater heights and a deeper understanding. 

These are opportunities to grow.

I’ve shared a lot with you, but the point in all this is that chasing your passion comes with both success and disappointment. Ultimately, through perseverance and building a strong foundation, you can find peace in your purpose.

Right now, my purpose feels clearer than ever. 

I’m grateful for my teammates and a head coach and staff that believe in me. I’m grateful for our fans and all of Broncos country. I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given in Denver. 

More than anything, I’m grateful for perspective.

Our family’s story isn’t about having everything handed to us. It’s about our faith, sacrifice, and showing up for each other. People carry a lot of strength inside them, like your Uncle Caleb’s path from injury to All-Conference, or Uncle Tez’s journey from Woodlawn to the League. 

That’s the legacy you’re stepping into.

Not perfection. Not comfort.

But belief.

I love watching Bo on the field but knowing he is this sort of man makes me want him to succeed even more. Let your kids look up to Bo Nix, he deserves it.

A REPORTER TAKES A VICTORY LAP AND SHAMES OTHER MEDIA Sean Davis is a good guy and does good work. When he was at The Federalist during the Ukraine impeachment nonsense he published a report that showed how the Deep State had changed the rules on whistleblowing to make it easier to go after Trump. He was relentlessly attacked by OTHER news media outlets and the deep state. Now he's vindicated but I'll let him tell you what happened.

CANDACE OWENS RESPONDS TO VICTOR MARX After Victor agreed to come on and be interviewed by Candace Owens on HER show, which to me demonstrates further that he is just grifting and not at all interested in doing a good job as Governor. She responded yesterday, and I'm just here for the drama. The part about Victor starts at 37:09 and she shows how she reached out to Victor to come on her show after he posted a video saying he would be happy to come on. I think that's a lie for public consumption but we'll see what he does.

WAR UPDATE: ISRAELIS ARE PISSED ABOUT THE CEASE FIRE! The cease fire with Hezbollah (actually Lebanon but it's about fighting Hezbollah) seems to be holding so far, which is great for Israelis who haven't had a decent night's sleep without bombings in many weeks, but Israelis are NOT happy. For them a ceasefire is an extension of a decades long war. My nephew this morning told me that everyone is calling Netanyahu Trump's "bitch" because Trump asked for the ceasefire. Israelis want to end Hezbollah now, while they and their benefactor Iran are weakened, so Lebanon can be united again without the terrorists in the south and Iranian occupation. Kind of pokes holes in the anti-Semitic lies about Trump being controlled by Israel, doesn't it?

THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ IS OPEN And the US Naval blockade is still on. Iran opened it for nothing. They have nothing left to attack us with, this is the beginning of the end for the regime.
