Modest Mouse Announce New Album, 'An Eraser And A Maze'

Alright, don't worry... a new Modest Mouse album is coming soon.

The Grammy-nominated rock band revealed on Tuesday (April 21) that their new album, An Eraser and a Maze, will drop June 5. The "Float On" hitmakers also gave fans a first look at the album artwork via their Instagram account.

In addition to announcing the name and release date, the group also teased a new tour. "Fall tour incoming," the group simply captioned the post.

"For this one, I turned off my filter and just let it all happen," frontman Isaac Brock shared in a statement. "Even though every musician says that when they put out a record. Thoughts, emotions, feelings, all that stuff... you're like the soup, and it's not always easy to pick out the ingredients. I don't dwell on things much. I don't grieve much. I'm not sure I'm a person. I feel like I should have more feelings than I do. But then, you know, I'll sing stuff. And I'm like, 'Oh, there it is. It's in there.'"

Their upcoming eighth studio album, which will be distributed through Brock's imprint Glacial Pace Recordings, marks the band's first independent release in nearly 30 years. They released their latest album, The Golden Casket, in 2021, via Epic Records.
