Riley Green revealed over the weekend that he’s slated to make his coaching debut on The Voice.

He’s already received a message from returning coach Kelly Clarkson.

Green played the voicemail from Clarkson in a clip shared on Instagram on Sunday (May 10). The Don’t Mind If I Do artist laughed as Clarkson welcomed him to the competition show with friendly banter. She said she’s “stoked to coach alongside you,” and called herself a “super fan” of his music (she’s covered a few of his songs on The Kelly Clarkson Show).

Clarkson is a “big fan. But needless to say, fan and all, it’s a competition.” She said she sent Green a gift as he continues his run of shows, and sang that her team will “whoop that a**,” in the competition this season. The video didn’t reveal Clarkson’s gift to Green. A separate clip shared by NBC shows the country star sitting in an iconic red chair as he gets ready for The Voice.

Green will make his debut on the show this fall, alongside returning coaches Clarkson and Adam Levine. The Season 30 premiere date has not been announced as of publication time on Monday morning (May 11).
