Kelly Clarkson took the stage with country singer-songwriter Dasha’s viral, pop-infused breakup anthem on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson delivered a rendition of “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’),” Dasha’s 2023 breakup single that went viral in early 2024, complete with a global line dance trend on TikTok. Dasha wrote the song with Adam Wednler, Cheyenne Rose Arnspiger and Kenneth Travis Heidelman. The infectious song appeared on Dasha’s major-label debut country album, What Happens Now?, in February 2024. Dasha caught up with iHeartCountry on the red carpet when she made her CMT Music Awards debut in 2024 (fittingly, in Austin, Texas. She said at the time, “it’s just been crazy with my album dropping and ‘Austin’ blowing up at the same time. I’m just so happy that people get to hear my true artistry with this body of work coming out, and it’s been great.”
Since then, Dasha has talked with iHeartCountry about her cover of “She’s So Gone,” an “angsty” anthem from the Disney Channel original, Lemonade Mouth, which premiered in 2011. Dasha put her spin on the Gen Z anthem on Main Street Country, a 5-track EP featuring country spins on Disney classics. The collection also included Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn Brown (“Beauty and the Beast” from Beauty and the Beast), Restless Road (“The Climb” from Hannah Montana: The Movie), Maddie & Tae (“You’ll Be in My Heart” from Tarzan), and BRELAND (“Go the Distance” from Hercules). Dasha’s performance of “She’s So Gone” aired on The Kelly Clarkson Show last moth. Watch her performance and Clarkson’s below.
