Travis Barker got candid about why he wouldn't give advice to his younger self, and the reason is a simple one.

"I wouldn't have listened," the legendary drummer told PEOPLE on Saturday (June 13) at the world premiere of his upcoming Hulu documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear. "The only way to learn is to live through it. Even the way I got sober. I got sober in a burn center, sitting there for six months, because I was so stubborn. I'm relentless in a lot of good ways, and back in the day, I was relentless in a lot of bad ways," he shared.

The blink-182 musician continued, admitting, "I wouldn't have learned anything without the lessons. So I'm just happy with the way everything turned out."

Louder Than Fear, which will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ on Aug. 13, details the iconic rocker's rise to fame and personal struggles, including the aftermath of his 2008 plane crash.

"Falling in love again, my wife gave me so much hope to where I ended up flying again and believed that I could do it," the "All the Small Things" hitmaker told E! News of wife Kourtney Kardashian at the premiere. "It's just insane."
