Shania Twain Reveals Heartfelt Tribute To Her Late Mother, Country Legend

Shania Twain shared a sneak peek of the next single from her upcoming studio album.

The global country-pop megastar, 60, said Little Miss Twain’s title track pays tribute to her late mother, who always said Twain would become “the next Tanya Tucker.” In a full-circle moment, Tucker, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2023, is featured on the song.

“This one is really special... Little Miss Twain is the next single from my new album,” Twain confirmed on Tuesday (June 16). “It’s coming out June 26th and I’m honored to say that [Tanya Tucker] features. ❤️ This song is an homage to my mother, who believed with every ounce of her being that her daughter was destined to be the next Tanya Tucker.”

Twain announced her seventh studio record last month, and released the first track from the project, “Dirty Rosie,” a solo write for the singer-songwriter. She shared in a statement of her upcoming 15-track album, “a lot of Little Miss Twain is reflective of my teens, my roots as well as the energy of the rock and R&B I loved so much, but still with that Western twang. Where I’m from you don’t go anywhere on a horse — you go on a snowmobile. I was dreaming about the Western lifestyle and I was living in a very different world than where I ended up.” The album pays “homage to my roots, my youth and my mother,” Twain shared.

“Little Miss Twain,” featuring Tucker, will arrive on Friday, June 26. The full album will release on July 24. See Twain’s sneak peek here:
