Brad Paisley Reflects On Receiving Taylor Swift's Wedding Invite

Brad Paisley opened up about what it was like to receive the invitation to Taylor Swift’s wedding.
Paisley, 53, and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, 54, were among about 1,000 guests who attended Swift’s wedding when she said “I do” to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce earlier this month. The couple, both 36, tied he knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Other country stars in attendance included Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin, Little Big Town — made up of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook — and their spouses, Maren Morris, Sugarland members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, and more.
Paisley said in a recent interview with the Associated Press: “They were very clear with the invite — I took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite, it said, ‘if you’re getting this, you mean a lot to us.’ And it was really fun to watch the cat-and-mouse game of like, ‘we can tell you roughly where it’s gonna be. We’re not gonna say what building. We’re not gonna say — and here’s the date. If you’re in, we’ll tell you more.’
“I went to my wife, I said, ‘wanna go?’ And she’s like, ‘absolutely. We gotta be there,’” he continued in the clip shared on TikTok. Paisley said Swift’s wedding was “ironically, one of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen or ever will see. It meant a lot to be — it was kind of a big ‘thank you’ from her to invite us.”
Before their wedding, Swift and Kelce reportedly donated $26 million to various charities. That includes a “transformative” donation to The Store, a nonprofit, free-referral grocery store that Paisley and Williams-Paisley co-founded to allow individuals and families experiencing food insecurity to shop for their own free groceries “with empathy, dignity, and respect.” Paisley shared afterward, “we just wanted to take a second and say it’s transformative. It will feed so many families, and what a way to start a marriage. I’m very excited.”
