Watch: Lainey Wilson Is In An 'Emotional Emergency' In New 'Leanne' Teaser

Leanne Morgan’s “favorite cousin,” played by country superstar Lainey Wilson, opens up about an “emotional emergency” in a new teaser for the sitcom.
Morgan’s self-titled comedy, Leanne, will return for its second season on Netflix later this month. Netflix shared a new sneak peek on Instagram on Tuesday (August 18), which shows Wilson embracing the actress and comedian in a hug.
“Me and Mike broke up,” Wilson told Morgan in the clip. “I’m dying inside.”
Morgan comforted Wilson, and asked Carol, played by Kristen Johnston, to “get Mama out. …We’re having an emotional emergency. Mama out now.”
Wilson, the reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, appeared in another trailer last month. In a brief sneak peek, she told Morgan, “you really are the strongest woman I know.” Wilson made her acting debut in 2022, appearing as a country artist on the hit series Yellowstone. She also took on a role in Reminders of Him, based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. The book published in 2022, and the movie premiered earlier this year.
Leanne focuses on a grandmother whose “life is upended when her husband leaves her after 33 years of marriage. She navigates this new chapter with the help of her family, grace, dignity, and jello salad,” reads the show’s description on IMDb. The show — created by Morgan, Chuck Lorre and Susan McMartin — made its debut last summer. The new season will arrive on August 27.
Wilson is part of the star-studded, genre-spanning lineup of the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One, along with BTS, Benson Boone, Cardi B, Goo Goo Dolls, Kenny Chesney, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Weezer and Zara Larsson, with more to be announced. Ryan Seacrest will host the two-night event when it returns on September 18 and September 19 to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
