Coldplay know the importance of doing it up big, so they teamed up with iHeartRadio for a special Album Release Party to promote their brand-new LP, A Head Full of Dreams, which dropped on December 4. During the show, which was hosted by Z100's one and only Elvis Duran and held at the iHeartRadio Theater in LA, the foursome came together to chat about the project and, of course, play a few tunes from the latest release.
"I think it's the most colorful record we've ever made," lead guitarist Jonny Buckland said when asked how this LP differs from previous projects. "We've enjoyed making it more than any other record as well."
Elvis couldn't not chat with the gang about some of the star-studded features on the upcoming LP, which includes Beyoncé, Tove Lo, Noel Gallagher. It was a candid moment during the evening when Chris explained that they finally decided to make a project that suited them entirely, and that included choosing the features.
"If you really want the honest answer, we finally became very comfortable with the fact that we're in Coldplay. We're not for everybody, but for those that like us, we wanted to just go all the way and make the album that we've always dreamed up," Chris Martin said.
After chatting with Elvis for a bit, the group kicked off their set, which included goodies from their brand-new LP like the title track as well as "Adventures of a Lifetime." They also treated the packed crowd to Coldplay classic "Sky Full of Stars."
