Extreme athlete Dean Potter is one of two BASE jumpers dead after a wingsuit accident in Yosemite National Park this weekend. Authorities say Potter, and another man, were attempting a wingsuit flight from Taft Point into Yosemite Valley, a distance of almost 75-hundred feet, when something went tragically wrong. Their bodies were found on Sunday afternoon.
At 43, Potter was one of the most recognizable athletes in extreme sports. He held the record for the longest wingsuit flight, covering nearly four miles of ground in almost three minutes in a jump from a Swiss mountain often referred to as the Wall of Death.
