New York City ⏤ If you spotted replicas of Harley Quinn, Spider-Man or even a good ol' fashioned Pikachu walking around midtown this past weekend, then you should have been aware that New York Comic Con 2016 was back in town.
Over the course of the four-day convention, some of the biggest (and most talented) heads from the realms of video games, comic books and fantasy took to Manhattan's Jacob Javits Center to put their work on display. iHeartRadio attended Saturday's showing and rounded up some of our biggest highlight from the outing because, let's face it, we all have a temporary inkling to escape reality, right? Take a look at some highlights below!
"Walking Dead" Season 7 Teasers
Almost two weeks ahead of their highly-anticipated season premiere, "The Walking Dead" spread even more suspense among the audience when they teased Neigan's bloody kill during the show's panel at Madison Square Garden's Theater. With castmates like Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira and more on board, our zombie slashing family brought some insight to the forthcoming episode. During the chat, director Greg Nicotero specifically revealed that episode one of the new season will bring more than just the identity of Neigan's victim.
“Because everybody knows how the season ended last year, that someone’s gonna go, it was more of a challenge going into it this year, knowing what people are going to expect," he told the audience. "For me, some of the most amazing moments are found not where you’re going to expect them when you watch the first episode. There's some unbelievable moments and performances that come out of the fog and the haze and the post-traumatic stress of the actual moment that set the stage for the entire season. When we shot the finale last year all of these guys went to some pretty insane places emotionally. . . .It took me a couple weeks to recover from it."
Take a look below at the teaser shown during the panel and refresh your "Walking Dead" memory with a special TV rewind that brings you up-to-date on Sunday at 9pm on AMC.
"Teen Wolf" Panel Gets Emotional
MTV's cast of "Teen Wolf" took to Hammerstein's Ballroom on Saturday morning to treat a packed venue to some teasers from the final season of the hit show. Not only did creator Jeff Davis, Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Linden Ashby and Melissa Ponzio reveal that they have only 10 more episodes of the series to shoot before wrapping up, but the cast also wasn't afraid to admit that their season finale has them feeling a bit emotional, particularly because of the impact this show has had on their lives.
"I didn't go to college because I was so busy. This was my first real college experience. I moved out and we had this party together," Posey said while holding back tears. "That whole nine days and that pilot and love that we all poured into this f**king show, this little half hour [show]. [It] wasn't even a full episode. We had so much fun in those nine days. It felt like a lifetime. I really grew attached to these people. It absolutely changed my life."
Asked if anyone had any ideas of a spin-off for the show, Posey offered the crowd one crazy theory. "I wanted the show to leap ahead like five years. I want Scott to be in his mid-twenties and just stumble. He has scars all over him. He's all f**ked up. He's got a buzzed head and he's really dark and gnarly and kind of messed up and maybe doing drugs," he explained. "Wouldn't that be cool?"
Season six of "Teen Wolf" returns to MTV on November 15th at 9pm.
