Jimmy Fallon took to Twitter one-handed on Friday night to explain to fans how he ended up in the hospital needing emergency surgery.

As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Fallon suffered a hand injury that was bad enough to get him hospitalized. And not only that, the host’s rep later confirmed he had to undergo a “minor” operation. The severity of the situation forced the cancellation of Friday’s taping of “The Tonight Show.” #While the details of the injury weren’t initially revealed, Fallon used his one good hand to send some tweets about what happened. “Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my finger off (bad thing),” he wrote.

Fallon amusingly went on to note, “#drugged #blessed.” He further said, “I’m doing well and thanks for good wishes everyone.” The comedian also shared a picture of his bandaged hand, in addition to a foam brace around his wrist.

Fortunately, Fallon and “The Tonight Show” were already set to begin a two-week hiatus on Monday, timed to the July 4th holiday. The break will allow the star plenty of time to recover enough before production starts back up. Check out the photo Fallon shared below.
