After almost a year of speculation, Sam Smith has finally unleashed the huge announcement that we were all waiting for. At the end of the month, the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival performer will make history when he drops his upcoming James Bond theme song called "Writing's on the Wall."
Rumors resurfaced on Monday (September 7) when the British crooner posted a black and white photo of his hand with a ring that included the logo for SPECTRE.
If you weren't totally convinced by the post, Sam took the liberty of confirming the big news on the Twitterverse just a day later. "This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song," Sam said of the song, which he co-wrote with Jimmy Napes. Later on, Disclosure revealed that they "added some additional production" to the track.
I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.— SAM SMITH (@samsmithworld) September 8, 2015
"Writing's on the Wall" isn't available until September 25, but you can pre-order the track, CD or vinyl right now. It will precede the film's release on November 6.
