Popular music app Shazam has announced a partnership with the biggest electronic music digital retailer, Beatport.
If you have a smartphone, then you most likely know what Shazam is (and you probably have it too). It's the app we all use when we're listening to sets and radio shows from our favorite DJs to get those sought-after IDs that plague our lives, to the tracks we're dying to know.
With this new partnership, Shazam will have access to Beatport's entire catalogue of music. That's A LOT of music!
Shazam's director of music and content Will Mills revealed that 31 of the top 100 most tagged tracks from last year were dance music. He said, "From Ibiza to LA to Tokyo and beyond, fans of electronic dance music will now be able to experience more of the dance tracks they love every time they use Shazam when they go out."
Beatport's CEO Matthew Adell added, "Our partnership also gives DJs and producers exposure to an enormous audience of potential new fans."
It was about time these two companies joined forces. Now get to Shazam-ing!
