President Obama is polishing tomorrow night's State of the Union address.  Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest said Obama will have a lot to say about opportunities and challenges facing the U.S. in the years ahead.

Pressed on specifics, Earnest said the President will push Congress to pass criminal justice reform and approve themassive Asia-Pacific trade deal.  It will be Obama's last State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

Earnest said the President will make an optimistic case that betting on America is a good bet.  He also criticized what he called an "avalanche of negativity" from Republican presidential candidates and suggested that it is affecting the national mood.  He also accused the GOP contenders of exploiting people's fears.
