The way tire buying should be. How now we feel
in sticks?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
I chose to take the physical challenge, So I'm here
if you would tell I don't know what type of
performance you're going to get from me today, but you
know I'm here now.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Back in the day, the Physical Challenge was a reference
to the great show Double There, and that would invee
corre some kids, uh you know, with some crummy elbow
pads and knee pads and dorky get ups and they
would slide down a chocolate slide and they'd grab a
flag out of a giant nose. Yeah, like all like
it would just be these weird sort of ride a
(01:52):
bike through mud, like just all this weirdo stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Now is that.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
The uh probably there you get sliined.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
I was like you did get sligned.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
It was like a Nickelodeon thing.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Well, isn't that where Double Deer was on? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Of course, Mark, the Great Mark Summers was the host
of that. Now are you saying it was just some
harmless shenanigans like that? Like some physical challenges like that,
or were these different types of physical challenges.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
It was kind of along those lines, but it was
a lot of LeVar islands. They those those were inconsistent.
But it's all right, what do you know?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
What do you are? You going to call out the
bartending stat.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
No, I'm not. I'm not, but I'm just going to say.
I'm just going to say the day started off really,
really strong. The bartender the first one knocked it out
of the park, and that was you know, I didn't
expect anything less until I got something less, like it
(02:55):
got so bad, it went so far downhill. Maybe it
might have been me. Maybe I just wasn't coherent and
I just thought they didn't taste good. I don't, I
don't know, but the last one that was in front
of me, I just couldn't even drink it, as like
it just doesn't.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Taste like a LeVar Allen.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
I didn't want to be a diva, so I just
sat it there and left it there, And yeah, I couldn't.
I couldn't finish. I don't want to say I couldn't
finish it off, because I'm certain I could have probably
knocked down at least two to two and a half
more SIPs and and kind of be still coherent. But yeah,
(03:34):
it was, Uh, it was. It was a night man.
I was seeing Jeff Harding's and and Coach Franklin came
out and uh, Pat Craft the A D came out.
Uh Ke John and Carter was there.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
It was O. J.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
McDuffie's Charitable Foundation that that did a bowling deal. Troy
drakefe Yeah, Troy Draton, the tight End, he was out,
Blair Thomas there. There was a ton of legends that
were we're out last night and uh, well, well we
had a good time.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Brandon Short you know. Put uh sure.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
So here's the uh, here's the real question that a
lot of people want to know. Okay, did you hit
the over of five LeVar Islands, because that was set
yesterday on the show.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
I did.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
I did two, not three four James.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
But but with that, but with that being said, I
did not drink Act two ten yesterday. So the reason
why I would have said that would have been a
bad bet to put it put down on that line
was because the the cups, the mugs that they come
(04:52):
in at two ten are really big.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Yeah, there was for people that aren't familiar. The the
mugs you get at too ten for the the Long
Islands or the LeVar Islands in this case, aren't your
regular you know, sixteen ounce pint glass like these are
like little pictures on my pictures.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Yeah, they're small pictures.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
So you rip a couple of those. The next thing
you know, you're trying to brush your teeth with your shoes.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
You Yeah, it's improb you got. You knocked down two
or three of those, and you you got everything you
asked for.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Ex.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
You call downstairs, like the TV is not working, what's
the problem? The remote doesn't work, and they come upstairs.
You got a neutral grain bar in your hand. Now, buddy, listen, like,
slow it down. Here, here's a water. Let's let's sober
up a bit.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Listen. You deserve it.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
It's it's legends at Penn State, you know, not known
as as college station like Leeds the Lapp prefer doing
on the rundown yesterday. It is so so listen, you deserve.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
All the LeVar Islands you get. Now. I do have
some good.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
News for you, though, okay, because you need something that's
gonna spark you back up, all right.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
You need something that's gonna light you back up.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
You need something, and everybody needs something that's gonna get
their ass and gear here on a Friday morning, and
I got just the thing.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
It's a football Friday.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Friday, Labarn Kiddy, still football Friday here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
A tradition unlike any other, and so of course it
makes all the sense in the world we'd start a
football Friday. Looking back quickly at the NBA Draft. Now,
for those of you that stuck around for the duration
of the draft, I watched the majority of it a
bit rough at times. I'm gonna try and not be
(06:57):
negative about something, and I want you, as somebody who's
a draft pick, to try and talk me off the
negative ledge, because this is how I feel about it.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
I can't okay. Victor Wembanyama goes number one overall?
Speaker 5 (07:08):
When on none on an asion? No, no, she could cool? When? When? When? When? Mom? When?
Speaker 7 (07:19):
Mom?
Speaker 5 (07:19):
One? Number one? Man? When? When? Mom? Whomen when weave?
Speaker 3 (07:28):
When did you? When did you come up with that?
Just now? Oh Jesus.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Women? When women? Who? When? When? By? When? Money? Mom? When?
Draft a number one?
Speaker 4 (07:49):
An NBA draft, an NBA draft, an NBA draft.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
By the way I feel like, you're the only one
on this show that could get away with doing that.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
I gotta be like, something tells me if I did that,
I'd be escorted out here in cuff.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
What who gets the button for that?
Speaker 1 (08:10):
You?
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I kept listen. I didn't say anything. I'm trying. We're
talking x's and o's here with the yank.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
On you, not me on you?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Who we talking to?
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Talking way?
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So here's why, Here's why I'm trying not to be nagative.
Here's why I'm trying not to be negative about this,
because he has been built up and hyped up so
much that I feel like it's nearly impossible to him
to live up to any of this. It is over
the top man, and look, Lebron James lived up to
(08:49):
the hype. Michael Jordan had some hype. I don't think
Michael Jordan's type was anywhere like this because he wasn't
even a number one pick. It feels like we've entered
into the Greg Odin type territory. And I'm trying to
do comps of players whose careers didn't work out, but
it just feels like this is the second Coming, and
and even more so, maybe we've never seen anybody like
(09:12):
this before. And he seems like a great kid, and
he seems like he's got his head on straight, and
he's emotional and you know, really down to earth, and
yet he's going to get showed up and spit out
by the by the daily breakdown that is his career
path and the things he does in his NBA career,
and something about it doesn't sit right with me.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
I don't know what it is.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
You know, I don't know very much about him. I
mean I've seen I've seen like highlights of you know, him,
him doing this thing and stuff like that, but I
don't know very much about him, I want to say,
you know, and looking at what he brings to the
(09:57):
table from his physical stature and just the things that
have been stated about him that that win Binyama will
will be a fine basketball player. But I definitely think
that he's possibly going to have to put on more weight.
I mean, because it's going to be a physical grind
(10:19):
to get through all of those games and bang. But
I mean, he's considered to be a skilled big man,
like that whole new skilled big man type of deal,
and you know, I just I wonder if he will
be quick enough or smooth enough to be able to
(10:42):
be a player that does not need to put on
too much size, you know, weight wise to be effective.
Like that's just a first like a Durant, Like a Durant,
and you see his bodies starting to break down a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
But I just wonder to your point, I don't think
has he ever really changed that drastically physically.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Bigger. He's bigger than what he was when he was
in school.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
But like I look at like Lebron clearly bigger. Jason
Tatum even from last year you look at him in
the finals to this year, clearly bigger. I don't know
that that Kevin Durant really bulked up to a point
where okay, that's a significant difference. So yeah, maybe maybe
Wemby's got the ability and the skill set to where
the weight doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Like Chet Holmgren.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
You remember the guy who came out, yeah and drafted
by Oklahoma State Oklahoma City rather, I mean Chet Holmgren.
You know that guy is like seven to one a
buck thirty, Like he doesn't even he doesn't even knock anymore.
He walks through the keyhole like he's like he definitely
needs to put on some size. So when it comes
to the way these guys just like run the floor
(11:52):
like yeah, everything I've heard about Victor Wembinyama, though, is
unreal skill set like that. Yeah, he's gonna add size.
But maybe to your point, maybe it's not the most
you know, live or die of whether or not his
career is going to be successful.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
It's that people aren't sitting there saying that he's going
to be like the next Wilt Chamberlain or anything like that.
I think they're looking at, like you said, he puts
up good numbers, like pretty nice numbers, thirty six, eleven,
you know, four like he he puts up numbers that
(12:28):
make you They make you look at it and say
he has the ability to be able.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
To you know, I don't.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I mean maybe they're looking at like the reemergence of
a Tim Duncan, you know, but with more skill, like
being able to be like a power forward type guy
like a Tim Duncan and hit you with that that
kind of you know, the little turnaround jumper on right
along the key or a little bit more mid range.
(13:04):
But he strikes me as that type of he looks
like a Spurs player like, you know, like what a
Tim Duncan would look like.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
Now, that may be a horrible compan but.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
I think it's also borderline offensive. I mean, Sam, we're
gonna take this. He looks like a spur Like. He
looks like he.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Kind of has that that Tim Duncan looked to him.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
We're just gonna take that. I mean, that's what he
thinks that's going to be acceptable. Sam, I mean, Sam,
We're just gonna take He looks like a spur.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Yeah, he looks like, Okay, wow, you just gonna walk
them all the way into it. All I'll say is
he does have a decent shot. He does have decent
dribbling skills. But I don't know to say he's like
(13:51):
one of those can't miss prospects.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
I just.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
I don't. I don't get Kevin Durant from him in
terms of what his ball handling.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
I don't think he handles the ball quite like a
Kevin Durant. I mean he's I don't know. It's just
I'm conflicted. Because he shows dominance. You obviously got to
be dominant to be able to go number one. He
shows the ability to be dominant. But best best prospect
(14:27):
or like can't miss. I'm gonna have to wait and see. Yeah,
I'm gonna have to wait and see. But he can
handle the rock, he can get to the rim, and
he can get to the realm.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Maybe I don't know, maybe maybe.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Like your your your guy out of out of the bucks,
you know, the he might have like that type of
Yannis type of game. Yeah, I mean it might be.
He might be the best comp for me. It's like
a Yannist type of game.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yeah, it could look I some development. I hope it
works out.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Like I said, I just hope he doesn't get you know,
showed up, spit out by the hype train that is
the NBA and the quote unquote bust or disappointment if
he falls short early on, Like look at Joel Embiid
was labeled to bust early on in his career.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
And he recovered from the injuries and he's.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Turned out to be a superstar. So hopefully, hopefully we
get a little bit of that from Wemby. It is
two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on Fox
Sports Radio, it's LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
We're gonna have the usuals coming up.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Fifteen.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Huh it's some post drinking. Uh yeah, I don't even
have it in me. Come on, bar, I don't even
have it in me. On a football Friday.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Get a grind through, baby, Oh I am, I'm here here,
I got you. I know the lyrics.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Perry ellis in Paris. Yeah, just like frank O Harris.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
Oh wait, hold on now, throwing back.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
To your your youth A great frank.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
O Harris, Come on, yeah, it might be too soon,
Frank Franco's Army.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
You could have chose someone else, maybe.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
It's not a not taking a slight. Come on the
great Frank, bring a Franco.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
It is.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. You know, I just put I
put two and two together just now. So part of
the reason, I would say, among other things, great player,
great reputation in the community, the legendary Frank o'harris, also
a Penn Stater, so he's got to be well. No,
I just because I put two and two together in
(18:10):
the sense that I know you've always looked up to,
like Greg Lloyd and some of the great longtime Steelers.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Growing up's the favorite player?
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Did you have a more of an appreciation for Frank o.
Harris when you got to Penn State and realize you
guys kind of followed the same path sort of so
to speak, going to Penn State. But you growing up
a Steeler fan, he's got to be on your top
five all time favorite Steelers.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
I mean, Franco is like the guy you know, he's
like the uh.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
When you're a Penn Stater.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
I mean, if you understand the history of Penn State,
there's a few names that jump out at you very quickly.
Lenny Moore is a name that jumps out you at
you really quickly. The Redding Rocket Hall of Famer running
back for the Baltimore Colts, Wally Triplett, jumps out at
you because that's where the whole we are Penn State
(19:05):
came from. If you don't know that story, look that up.
Frank o'harris comes to mind, like he's one of the
names that jumps out at you. Jack Ham jumps out
at you. So I mean, when you talk about the
legacy in the history, the rich tradition and history that
our program has, Frank Oharris is among the mount Rushmore
(19:28):
of players that have not only shown how you do
it as a football player, but has ultimately in the
life that he lived, he showed it as a philanthropist
and he just did so many amazing things in the community.
Was such a leader, and not only the Pittsburgh community,
(19:50):
but in the Penn State community. It's funny we were
telling the story yesterday, me and Brandon Short. When we
first met he each other, we played against each other
in a three on three tournament, and Brandon Short was
like one of the highest recruited football players out of
western Pennsylvania, like ever and he was getting recruited by
(20:14):
Penn State, and he was getting recruited by everybody. But
we playing this three on three tournament and we end
up meeting in the championship game. And so I'm in
the eighth grade. I'm not even I'm not even in
high school yet. I'm going into high school that next
school year. After that summer where we met each other
in this three on three tournament. We're in the game
(20:38):
and Brandon short comes out and they're like, I guess
they saw us play. And I was dunking on dudes.
I'm in the eighth grade going into ninth grade. I'm
dunking on dudes doing crazy stuff. My older brother was
throwing me oops, he was doing crazy stuff. We had
a really good team.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
I wasn't doing that in the eighth grade, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Yeah, I know it, man.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
So so we get into the game and the first
thing Brandon does is like basically just bullies me out
of the way and dunks the ball and breaks the help.
He breaks the rim, pulls the whole rim down, right.
So my older brother's like, you gonna let this dude
do that to you? Like, you can't let him do
that to you. So my brother made a little nice
(21:15):
little play throws me the ball. I catch the ball
in full stride, I go up and I pull the
I break the rim. Like so now we've broken to
two rims like almost consecutively in this game, like like real.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
Violent dunks in these in these games.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
And before we were able to continue the game, here
comes this smooth, low key voice like, hey, hey, hey guys, hey,
let's let's let's talk for a second here, And it
was Franco Harris.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
He's like, look, man, if you guys keep breaking my rims,
we won't be able to have a tournament. He's like,
can you please just stay off.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Of my rims.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
He's like, but god, Lee, you guys are some pretty
dog on good athletes. He's like, all right, good luck,
and he walked off. And that was my first encounter
with Franco. And we ended up losing that game. And
when the story got a little a little deeper, a
little further in, but but yeah, that was my first
time ever meeting Franco. And he's just like he was
(22:16):
just a larger than life figure, man like. It was
almost like Jesus walked up man like like Dang, that's Franco. Like,
if you understand how football culture is in Pittsburgh, you know,
it's just that that was there was a few guys
if you saw him, it was like, dang. Like me
(22:37):
and Joe Green was like because of the commercial. You
know here kid, you know type deal. You know, Franco
was larger than life. He was a larger than life
figure too. So yeah, man, Yeah, he's a Penn Stater
and always proud and prideful that that he you know,
he's not only my alum, but he's my you know,
he's a brother.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
And the first thing you see at Pittsburgh you come
down the elevent I.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
Heard, I don't know what they're doing. It's not up
right now, it's not I heard, it's not up.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
For those that have never been.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
When you get to the Pittsburgh airport, the first thing
you see coming down the escalator.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
Or Washington and francoheare.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
The picture of Franco or the mold of Franco. Harrison's
life size. Yeah, it's it's not like catching the immaculate reception.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Yeah, it's life size. Like it's crazy. I want to
say I could be wrong, and don't quote me on this.
I'll say this. I'll say this, the uniform is an
authentic uniform.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
I don't know if I doubt it's to say oney war,
but it damn sure looks like it.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
It looks good.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
Yeah, it looked pretty good. So but I heard it's
not up right now, so I don't know what's going
on with that.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
They got to figure that out.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
But it is a two pros and a cup of
Joe Here on Fox Sports Radio, coming to you live
from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tirack dot Com
will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installer.
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So Franco Harris was a four time Super Bowl champion.
He's a Super Bowl MVP. He's got all the credentials
(24:08):
in the world and speaking to Super Bowls. Okay, this
year's Super Bowl could be decided by drugs.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
If you don't think so, Lauasca.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
If you don't think so, take a listen to Nathaniel Hackett,
the offensive coordinator the New York Jets, talk about how
much control Aaron Rodgers is going to have over that
Jets offense.
Speaker 7 (24:33):
There's going to be from freedom with Aaron and Aaron
as we moved forward in the Green Bay system, there
was definitely more freedom as we win. We're going to
just continue that because I think you got to take
advantage of a guy like Aaron that is, I'm so
smart and understands it, so trying to build this thing
for him and build it so that when he sees
certain things, he can do all kinds of stuff and
(24:56):
put us in the best position possible.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Now, this is a guy, Aaron Rodgers, who's in the
midst of giving I don't know, tutorials or advice on
mushrooms and psychedelics, and hey, listen to teach their own,
not here to judge, love me, somemar sounds no, listen,
I just I've never I can't stand mushrooms. I've told
you that it's the most disgusting thing on any item, Like,
(25:19):
if there's mushrooms on it, I will hire somebody to
assault you. If you put mushrooms on my food, it
is disgusting. It's a fungus. They smell, they weird me out.
It just the whole thing creeps me out. So I
would never partake in the psychedelics just because they've got
the name mushroom attached to him.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
I didn't even know why.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
I like Super Mario Brothers, like there's mushrooms all over
that goofy game. And I went and saw the movie
with my kid, and I should have stormed out of
the theater because it realized halfway through I can't stand mushrooms.
Why am I here? But the point is Aaron Rodgers
the idea. My favorite part about all this is the
idea that it would go any other way. Like he
(25:57):
wasn't going to have full control of the offense. You're
the Jets. You're not in a position to dictate terms
to anybody. Okay, whatever Aaron Rodgers wants, you need to
do whatever you can to provide it for him. If
he wants to take psychedelics on the sideline, like Mark
Sanchez had a hot dog on the sideline years ago,
you let.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Him do it.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
Whatever he wants to do, you just let Aaron Rodgers
do it. That is what you signed up for. It's
very similar to when Peyton Manning got to the Broncos.
You brought in everything that he wanted. It was his creation. Offensively.
If you're the New York Jets. The only way this
is done is if Rogers has full control and freedom
in the offense. Is Nathaniel how could point it out?
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Huh?
Speaker 5 (26:40):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Don't you agree?
Speaker 4 (26:41):
It makes me feel like this is a final frontier,
so to speak for the New York Jets, Like, do
you lose all hope and consideration of them being a
competitive football team to win a Super Bowl after the
Aaron Rodgers' tenure.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yes, it's over after that.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
If they don't get it, it's over, right, can't take
them seriously more?
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Well, Robert Sala's gone, Like, if this doesn't work, Sala's gone,
Hackets gone. This really is last shot. This is the
last chance for everybody involved, and it's all tied to Rogers.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
If that's the case, and that's how this is being
measured and it's being judged, then yes, you're gonna make
decisions that you feel are the most impactful decisions to make.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
And I gotta be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
I like Nathaniel Hackett saying this, and the reason why
I like them saying it is because it's not enough times.
It's not often enough where coaches give players their propers.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
On understanding the game.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Sometimes you don't have to overcoach, you know, And I
feel like that's something that is you know, to me.
Historically things I've seen coaches can coach theirselves out of
being able to win games with the quality players that
they have, and then now that creates doubt amongst the players.
(28:08):
It creates a divide amongst the coaches and the players.
There's a lack of trust. It's just it's it's a
difficult proposition to be a player on a team where
you're looking at how something is being done by the
coach when you know they're holding back somebody on your roster.
(28:30):
That could be the difference and having success or not.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I do wonder how often you guys, as players, would
be getting coaching from somebody on the staff. And although
you're nodding your head, Crape, I do wonder how often
that happens.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Because there have been bruh, there have been so many
se Now I mean I'm talking totally unaware, like dementia,
kicking in whatever it may have been.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Coach.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
No, I'm not No, I'm not even joking. I'm not
even joking, bro. There have been a ton of coaches
that just should not have been caught. They should not
have been on coaching staffs. Like it's like you could
see maybe it's the CTE. I don't know what it is,
but whatever it was, it was kicking in and they
were barely there. But yet they're in positions of decision
(29:26):
making power as a coach. And so yeah, not only
do you sit there and you roll your eyes, but
you just for some of them, you're concerned for them,
you know. For others, you're sitting there like, dude, you're
just a d bag man like, and you need to
take your curmudgeon ass home and get get away from
Like this is not about you. It's not about you.
(29:50):
I've always said, man, there's like certain coaches, like their
egos are so big, and yet they have people thinking
that they're the most like god fearing people or you know,
family oriented people and they're everything, but that they're nothing
like what they portray to to the public. And then
(30:14):
they're so ego driven and so they overdo it with
some of the things that they do, and they ruin teams.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
You've seen it. Please, I'll tell you.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
I ain't even gonna get into calling out names, but
I'll tell you what. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
I don't I don't know this for.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
For certain, but I have I have heard from some
pretty reliable people that have been close to Is it
McDaniels or McDaniel.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Which one? Josh, Oh, Josh McDaniels.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
I heard he's that type of dude. Man, I've heard
that before.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
I've heard like Mike, there's Mike Vape Daniel and then
Josh mcde.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Okay, there's the ass I've always I've said, and I
just heard this recently and not solicited. I wasn't like
doing an interview or looking for it, was just in conversation.
It's like he doesn't know how to talk to guys.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
He communicates it, you know.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Because I was talking about Bill O'Brien and somebody brought
up Josh McDaniel, McDaniels because they heard me talking about
Bill O'Brien yesterday.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
So was this and I don't mean to cut you off,
but was this recent or is this went after his tenure?
Speaker 4 (31:32):
I guess it was yesterday that I heard about this
because I was talking about Bill O'Brien on the show yesterday. Correct, Yeah, yeah,
So I heard this yesterday somebody was saying basically, I
heard Matt Patricia is the same way.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
I heard he's the same way.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
And we heard a little bit about Joe Judge too.
When Joe Judge took over the Giants. It was kind
of a hard ass approach. And some of the players
are like, dude, what are you doing?
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Bro? They act like, I don't.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
I just don't understand when guys act that way, Like
like Greg Williams was, Look, I said, I ain't gonna
call out no names, but I do radio, and you know,
I could care less. Greg Williams was one of the
most be like he would be little dudes. He would
bereade dudes, he would I mean, the things that he
(32:19):
would say during meetings and practices is some of the
most insanely disrespectful disregard for any type of having human
respect that you could have for somebody.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
It was. It was so bad.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
And it's like for what, like, what are you getting
accomplished by saying the things that you are saying? You know,
you could say what you want to say, and and
and the dude was brilliant, brilliant football mind, but his
way of communicating was so jacked up. Man and I
(32:59):
just think that you can run into situations where you're
overdoing it.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
And that's the point that I'm making.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
So for Nathaniel Hackett to give that man his props,
it's like guys will sit there and be like, Oh,
this guy couldn't do anything until I started coaching them.
They want all the credit for somebody having success. Maybe
Nathaniel Hackett could be one of those type of coaches
that says he wants to have the credit for Aaron
Rodgers coming to New York. He wants to have the
(33:26):
credit for Aaron Rodgers doing well in New York. It's
his coaching, it's his it's his deal, you know, his
his his plays that are are the reason why Aaron
Rodgers is doing well and why they're winning. But no,
he's not doing it that way. I think it gives
a level of ownership to to Aaron Rodgers and on
(33:46):
a level of accountability for someone that was considering maybe
possibly retiring from the game. I think it's a great
move by Nathaniel Hackett because he's giving a public stamp
that he banged with Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers has
been desperately seeking that type of validation and that type
(34:07):
of belief from the team.
Speaker 5 (34:09):
He plays for. Plus, so I think it's a great
it's a great situation.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Plus if it works, I think Rogers goes down in
history is the first quarterback in the history of the NFL.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
That was Okay, we're talking about getting.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Hacked, well, yeah, like doing psychedelics and then six months
later hoisting the Super Bowl trophy. Like, I mean, that's
that's really something that would be a huge win for
the drug community. I would think, you know, which is
really which.
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Is really the important?
Speaker 1 (34:35):
So funny, bro, I'm just trying to try to find
the positivity in this whole thing. For Oh yeah, it
is a big win for hippies if Rogers can get
it done this year in Las Vegas.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe.
Speaker 1 (34:50):

Henderson is Monty mentioned in her reward winning update. And
then you had the Thompson Twins go four and five.
By the way, wasn't Thompson Twins? Is that ename of
like a bad eighties bands, like synth pop band where
they call the Thompson Twins?
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Most positively?
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Thank you coach who gets Bill Belichick on the line

Speaker 4 (37:30):
He really really if you recall, he really really gave
us some hopeing and march madness.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Man. You know, we we was.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Making a little run, making a little push. You know,
Jayleen Pickett was grown man. So shouts out to him.
Congratulations to him, and yes we are.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
By the way, let's go live to our I have
an update on a bad band from the eighties insider.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Iowa, Sam for the lake. Sam, You're you're right on
the money there, Jonas.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
The Thompson Twins were a British pop band filmed in
nineteen seventy seven in Sheffield.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
I knew it.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
Yeah, pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
So yeah I think they did. I think they had
like a couple of bangers. Yeah, hold Me Now that
was a good song, hold me and now. Yeah, yep,
we'll play the next All right, are you good? So
if you were listening like the Breakfast Club or so, yeah,
probably so if you woke up this morning wondering, uh,
(38:23):
you know how the NBA draft was going to be recapped? Uh,
and you and you have in your Bengo card had
in relation to a band from thirty.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Years Bingo was his name, O b i ng O,
b i ng O, b i Ngo and Bingo was
his name.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
Oh good god, all right, everybody, you start acting the best.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
They did pay us to talk about sports. They don't.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
They don't pay us to sit here and sing. But
since we're on the subject, there's a football Friday. Yeah, Court,
(39:15):
it is a football Friday here on FSR. Before we
wrap up this discussion on the National Basketball Association, we
do want to point out there was a trade, an
interesting deal done in the NBA yesterday. Chris Paul old
CP three he is heading to the Golden State Warriors.
So the Wizards traded CP three to the Warriors in
(39:38):
exchange for Jordan Pool and a couple of draft picks
down the road. And it felt like that was at
some point that was going to run its course, especially
after Jordan Poole got smoked in practice by Draymond Green.
They gave him a contract, just kind of a make good,
but it seemed like the clock was ticking on that relationship.
And so now Chris Paul and the thought is he's
going to come off the bench for the Warriors that
(39:59):
he he will come off the bench in Golden State
and maybe this will be the best thing for him
at this point in his career. That's what it feels
like that I don't know.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
Age, you know that the whole it's interesting because Jordan
Poole leaves and perceivably maybe Draymond is leaving too. You know,
he denied the the contract extension, So it's interesting to
see how that's going to pan out because he's playing
(40:29):
his hand.
Speaker 5 (40:30):
He's put his cards.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
On the table and put his chips in the middle
of the table, and we're gonna have to see, like
when they turn the cards over, you know who's bluffing
and who isn't. But I'll say this, to think that
Jordan Pool would solely leave because of what took place.
Speaker 5 (40:51):
With Draymond Green, I don't know. I might.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
I might say that one is a tap bit debatable
just because of aren't you know status, Like if you
had to choose between Jordan Pool and Draymond Green, And
Draymond Green is sounding like he's wanting a max contract
(41:14):
or close to a max contract with what he's doing.
I mean, which one do you choose.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
I would choose, well, I think I don't think he's
getting anywhere close to a max contract. And the feeling
is that he'll be back in Golden State. This is
just negotiating and he can opt out, So he's going
to opt out and make more money. It's kind of
similar to Chris Middleton and Milwaukee who opted.
Speaker 5 (41:35):
Out of his deal.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
But the feeling is that he'll you know, it's more
likely than not that he's going to be back. I
just think for the fabric of that team, Draymond Green
means a lot more than Jordan Poole does. I just
and look, even before he got cracked, there was some
thought that Jordan Poole was not really a well liked
guy there, Like he kind of rubbed people the wrong way.
(41:58):
He was very He's kind of annoying to a lot
of teammates. So that that it built up for a while. Yeah,
and uh, and that's that.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
It built up for a while.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
And then he got he got punched in the face
and practice, although I don't know how.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
So was Marshall Laws what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Hey, listen, you know wo he lowd dog a lot.
Don't go around here, you know you saw Tombstone, know.
Speaker 5 (42:23):
What she was referencing. I was right there with you.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Yeah, he low dog, I don't go, don't fly around.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
You gotta wrap someone on the beer. Get some respect
around here. I love Ike Clanton. Man Ike Clant was
such a smelly slob. Yeah, so that is that's the situation.
Chris Paul back in in the state of California, nowhere
near Kardashian. Let's hope based on those rumors that Kanye
(42:53):
started a couple of years ago. Just want to want
to be clear here looking out for the for the
betterment of Chris Paul.
Speaker 4 (42:59):
So got the you think he has enough left to
participate in a way where he can make Golden State better.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
I think I think he's got enough left on the
coming off the bench. I just wonder from an ego standpoint,
how that lands with him.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
Well, if you're going there to begin with, you know
you're not going there for it to be your team
in any way, shape or form, right, in no type
of manner and no type of way.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
Zero.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
So I don't think that you accept this situation and
you're going into it. I think you come into it
with a level of understanding that you can be a
positive contributor to this team in such a great way,
and probably the biggest way is knowledge, wisdom and guidance
is what I would say a leadership quality that doesn't
(43:52):
have to be over pronounced.
Speaker 5 (43:54):
But the respect of who Chris Paul.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Is and what he's been able to accomplish in this
league I think would go over well in that in
that locker room. And he's not being looked at to
be a franchise guy for them. He's not obviously a
guy coming off of the bench to do relief duty
or to provide a different wrinkle that that teams may
(44:18):
have to start preparing for depending on how much time
he gets coming off of the bench. But if he
can return to a level where he was at what
a year ago, like a season ago.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
Yeah, I mean it's you know, it's probably been like
this past year. He wasn't near the lowest.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
He wasn't and I think his health was just very
much in question.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
But the year before, I mean, I think he did
fairly well, if my memory served correctly.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
Still productive, still a key part of that team. I
just I hope he embraces it. Just from the standpoint
I love seeing players when they get older in their
career who take on a new responsibility or a new
role and have success.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
Larry, I don't like it.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Okay, when Larry Fitzgerald moved to the slot, there was
some thought that, man, that's a difficult transition.
Speaker 5 (45:10):
But it's different.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
But he's still delivered.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
And then like when Vince Carter became a like kind
of like a reserve player, I ain't like it.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
Okay, what about when Charles Woodson switched to safety.
Speaker 4 (45:23):
You're staying in football. I mean I think it's different. Yeah,
Plus we'd like to keep our listeners.
Speaker 5 (45:28):
So but we're talking basketball, teah. I know.
Speaker 3 (45:32):
I'm just saying, like, if he can embrace that.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
Like Charles Woodson, Like I mean, yeah, I mean, god dang,
Charles Woodson balled out as a safe. Made you sit
there and wonder like why and you ain't play safety
entire time? Bro, Like you're really good at safety. But
I just you know, I look at I look at
embracing a limited role as for someone like him who
(45:56):
has had to deal with the injuries.
Speaker 5 (45:59):
That's got to be a relief, right, Like I get.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
To enjoy making an NBA wage, being Chris Paul and
being on a team that has the pieces to be
able to make a run and try to win it.
And I don't have to be looked at as the
savior of this team. They don't have to lean on
me to produce, you know, game in and game out.
(46:24):
I can just kind of cruise. I can start cruising now,
you know, I want.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
Do you think Lebron James will ever come off the
bench in his career? No, I was just thinking about that,
Like he did.
Speaker 4 (46:36):
He did come off of the bench that when he
came back from that injury. But I think outside anything
to that capacity, like that's his role, that would be
no different than seeing the guys that like seeing a
Vince Carter or you know, some of the guys that
you seek, you know, being on the bench after they've
been such positive contributors to to teams as starters.
Speaker 5 (46:56):
That's just weird to me. Man, That's weird.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Like some people are can handle the backup or reserve
role and then some people it just doesn't doesn't land right.
And you know, maybe Chris Paul it'll land right and
next thing you know, he's competing for an NBA championship.
But yeah, the the Jordan Pool era is over and
all he got was a championship ring one hundred and
eighty million dollars and punched in the face.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
Was it worth it?
Speaker 1 (47:24):
And also yes it was. Do you think do you
think that's going to eat at him? That he never
got his revenge? Like never one time like Draymond's going
up for a rebound in practice and.
Speaker 4 (47:34):
A Jeremiah Trotter, Jeremiah Trotter sucker punched me. And I
won't say it eats at me, but I wish I
could have whipped his ass though.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
I wish.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
I wish we could have shot a fair one, you know,
I really do. I would shoot a fair one with
him today to day, Like to day, I shoot a
fair one with him. Yeah, and I know he just
went through some personal stuff, so uh, you know, shots out,
but I would love to whoop his ass.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Well listen, I mean, uh maybe maybe one day you'll
discover that you'll have an opportunity to do that. And
speaking of which, at the end of your first year,
discover credit cards automatically doubles all the cash back you burned.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
That's right, everything you've earned doubled.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Seriously, see terms you check it out for yourself and
discover dot Com Forward slash match.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
All right, so it is two pros and a couple.
Speaker 5 (48:22):
Of segment provocative. You know that's gonna make its rounds.
Of course, that dude had the nerve to tell a
bogus ass story about what he did.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
He tried to talk like he was Mike Tyson, then
knocked me out like I stepped to him. He dipped,
he bobbed, he weaved and knocked me cold like, come on, man.
Speaker 5 (48:39):
I looked.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
I looked at your soft ass right in the eyes,
and you ain't had nothing for me. I turned to
sit back down because you ain't had nothing for me,
and the dude popped me in my ear? Man, can
you like what type of dude does that?
Speaker 3 (48:51):
Equilibrium shot? Huh?
Speaker 4 (48:52):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (48:53):
Bro, she put me down.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
