Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is the best of two pros and a couple
of Joe with Lamar Area, Rady Quinn and Jonas Knocks
on four Radio. So I'm gonna ask the question, Uh,
the hell was that last night? I'm got a loss

(00:24):
of words, man, Like I I don't know how you
guys viewed that or saw that. I mean, first off,
I hope now Hines is okay. That was kind of
scary to see. How you know he reacted to the
head injury. Um, a couple of players with some serious
injuries getting carded off. But I'm not sure what's worse.

(00:45):
I don't know if it's the Colts offense and how
often Matt Ryan gets sacked and some of you know,
his his interceptions, which I don't think in either case
he could he saw Kiden sterns um it looked like
it was one of those deals as a quarterback you
see a pick on tape and you go, there's no
way he saw that guy, because it looks apparent to
probably everyone else, like how did not see that guy?

(01:05):
And you're like, he there's guys in front of him,
his visions blocked. He would have thrown that ball if
he saw that guy. Obviously, but Russ in the Denver offense,
this I'm sort of think this could be a one
and done. Not not necessarily for him because he's paid
and they've invested in him and he's he showcased the
ability to succeed, but maybe for Nathaniel Hackett. I mean,

(01:28):
it looks bad and you've got a new ownership that
remember took over after Nathaniel Hackett was hired. If I'm
the Walden family and I've heard that they want to
be very involved, I would start taking a microscope over
some things right now because I'm getting more of the
sense that this was a higher When you're a general manager,

(01:49):
you hire a guy that you can control, so if
you need to, you can dismiss or you know, this
thing can go the way you want. I get the
sense that this thing could end up being where it's
a wanted done for Nathaniel Hackett, who and you're probably
right because they're if their trajectory is based off of

(02:11):
what they're doing right now, then largely in part, you're
going to not have a successful season. I think this
still is is falling on more on Russell Wilson and
you know, Nathaniel Hacket didn't throw that interception at the
end of the game, you know, and and it was

(02:34):
I don't know it. What was it a good play call?
I don't know. They moved the ball, um, they couldn't
finish drives. I'll say this, I bet you Pete Carroll
was if he was even remotely interested in seeing if
Russell Wilson could be Russell Wilson outside of Seattle, if

(02:55):
he was watching, he was sitting somewhere chuckling to himself,
Like all these years I tried to tell y'all we
needed to hide Russ in the running game and play defense.
And now you're figuring out why. It's like, Okay, let
rusts cook, let Rust's cook. Russ puts up great stats,

(03:18):
and in Seattle, Russ was doing a lot of great
things in Seattle. But Russ was also doing it under
the watchful eye and the understanding of what Pete Carroll
had put together and had built in Seattle. And I
think we're starting to see that play out. Think about
for a second to how many ocs they went through.

(03:39):
I mean, after the Super Bowl, you know, Darryl Bevil
had moved on from him that it was Brian Schottenheimer
that it was now now it's Shane Waldron and that
was only for a year last year, his first year.
But they went through a number of play callers and
you know, every and every single one of those instances,
and look, they had success. I mean, we could say

(04:00):
whatever we want about how this looks now. They never
had a losing season Seattle with Pete and Russ until
last year. And if he plays the entire season, doesn't
have the hand injury, they're probably not having a losing
season last year. You know, I think this is a
number of things, like clearly there's a lack of comfort
and chemistry with some of the guys he's throwing too.

(04:21):
I mean, you talked about the interception at the end
of um regulation, right, Really when they're down there there
and they're in there in a position to kick a
field goal, if he doesn't throw that pick, I mean,
it's an entirely different story probably how that game ends.
But you go down to the very last play that decision.
The crazy thing about it is this, it was the

(04:43):
exact same two man concept that they ran back during
the New England reverse the New England Patriots on the
goal line. That was the same concept. The slot receiver
releases on a wide and fade that he helps create
traffic or a quote unquote pick for the outside receiver
who runs a little one step dart that comes underneath.

(05:04):
That dart was ran by Ricardo Lockett in the Super Bowl.
That's where he went to. Malcolm Butler picked it off.
You go back and watch this. It's kJ Handler this time,
and the mistake he made was he didn't look at
that side. And I don't know why he didn't, because
it's a man demand beater. kJ Handler was wide open.
The only thing I can think of is he wanted

(05:25):
to work to Courtland Sutton because he's got better chemistry
or more trust in Courtland Sutton. But the problem was
he was running a route that was never gonna be open.
That dB jumped inside and he wasn't gonna give up
that inside leverage, and you were working against a free
defender in the middle of the field anyway, So it's
you know, it's either it's either a lack of understanding
of the offense they're trying to execute what they're doing,

(05:47):
which which is bothers him. Still he's playing in a
football he should know better, or it's just he doesn't
have any any faith and confidence in anyone other than
Courtland Sutton, Jerry Judy, which is a shame because kJ
handler is a game changer and so far he hasn't
gotten enough uh targets and burnt time in my opinion,
do you think he's still got some PTSD from throwing
that pick? And maybe he's like, I'm going over there.

(06:09):
I'm not. I'll stay away from the right side. I'll
take my chances against former defensive player of the Year
and and have a get batted down. Can I ask
this that they wouldn't think of the head like, just
take the field goal, take the time to get out
of here with it. I thought that I thought that
would have been the choice had they not gotten so
much heat for their decision making in week one. And listen,

(06:31):
we talked about it after that game. It's one thing
if you make your coaching debut and your quarterback debut
with the team and it's underwhelming, but it's mixed in
with like seven eight one Eastern time kickoff games and
it's like, all right, don't worry, we'll get back on track.
They were the laughing stock of the league from the jump.
So to your point, on this potentially being a one
on one and done. Think about how many disastrous performances

(06:55):
they've had to where now you've got not only an
underwhelming start to the season, but it's also playing out
and you're being embarrassed and you're being mocked by other
people around the league based on the performed like that
was one of the worst football games we've ever seen,
and they were a willing participant through and through and
kept making it worse and worse. I I just I
thought for sure they were going to go for it

(07:16):
on fourth down, just because I don't think they wanted
to deal with the pushback, and I think Nathaniel Hackett
was like, all right, let's let's let's take a run
at this. Let's not deal with some of the criticism
and some of the heat we got the first week.
Look at how that worked. Yeah. It's like you're juggling
with knives. I mean, like, I mean, it's just what
do you what do you expecting to happen? A knife

(07:38):
with no handle, a sharp I've never seen a knife
that that's that's sharp all the way through. But you
juggling the knife that has all the way sharp, no handle,
no bad on the plus side of things, the defense
look great. I mean they did really both sides, Like
I think the coult should feel good about their defense too, right,
I mean I wanted to say it, but I know, Oh,

(08:00):
you guys love offense. In the world loves offense and
ugly games are defensive games and boring games or defensive games.
I thought, I thought the past rush for Denver obviously
was I mean Nick Chubb and all not Nick Chubb,
but yeah, Bradley Chubb. The I thought the past rush

(08:20):
was was on point. They were dialed in. Then on
the other side of the ball, I thought that that
the Colts, you know, did did an excellent job of
obviously maintaining and keeping things to a minimum, with phield
goals being the only the only finishing parts of the drive.
But but I but I did start to think after

(08:43):
a while, like is it because these defenses are playing
so well or is it that these offenses are playing
so poorly? I did come to that conclusion the base
with myself, you know, if you if you think about it,
Jerry Judy and of those red zone possessions, he the
ball literally hits his upfield like chest shoulder. He could

(09:06):
have caught that earlier in the game for a touchdown.
Like I think the odd thing was is And one
of the things about Jerry Judy that's interesting is the
guy is uzes with talent. He he really does. One
of the things that I feel like he lacks is
just overall awareness for like where he's at on the field,
or like in zone coverage. Sometimes you won't have an

(09:26):
awareness of like, hey, you need to throttle down through
that window, help out the quarterback, and instead I'll run
through the window and and the ball will look like
it's behind. It's really like that. That wasn't behind. It
was just where the ball needed to be to complete it.
And the receiver ran by it almost like he thought
it wasn't working against man to man. That was an
instance where I thought he like ran so fast up field.

(09:48):
You're working against a backer, you've already won. If you're
running down the field and up the seam or up
the middle of the field like on a shoe route,
you've already won. If you're one on one with the backer,
you just have to get that dude to kirk turn
his head and then as soon as you get to
the end zone, look for the football. And Russell's gonna
back shoulder you, or he's gonna put in a spot
where you can get it. And and in that instance,

(10:10):
like it looked like he was almost gonna run out
of the back of the end zone. The Andrew Beck
one earlier that was a drop that would have been
a touchdown, or I should said earlier later later in
the game. Um, there's a there's a couple instances where,
like I think of both those plays happen. We're not
having this conversation about the Broncos and Russell and their
struggles offensively or in the red zone in particular, because

(10:30):
they've literally been the worst team in the red zone
this season. The ground game wasn't that bad. Russell took
off too, used his legs more. I mean, it was
just a lack of just making some plays. He missed
some throws. It was a combination of things with sacks
and the turnovers. But man, good defense, but it looked
ugly offensively too. And Nathaniel Hackett, the head coach of

(10:52):
the Broncos, he gave his evaluation on Russell Wilson after
last night. I think I'm gonna have to evaluate it
and look at it and see where he want to
always try to get him into a rhythm. Didn't feel
like we were able to get him in that, and
I need to do a better job. Starts with me again.
There were a couple of opportunities. I think we had
a couple of drops again, a couple of penalties. You know,

(11:13):
we keep continually hurting ourselves because the performance by the
defense was spectacular. So there it is. That's you know,
that doesn't sound positive that well. He was trying to
keep it up beat, you know, he's trying to trying
to let everybody know that his quarterback is his quarterback.
But they the defense was great. Vic Fangio has got
to be looking somewhere just having a nice glass of wine,

(11:35):
staring over just a big chicken parm and just watching
this going. And I was a problem. But why has
got to be a big chicken bar? What do you mean? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
I mean, look, I'm right there was some what do
you mean? By the way, I'm glad would have said, Uh,
LaVar was sitting at home eat some fried chicken. Wh

(11:59):
what you getting? I mean, I am a black man,
you know what I mean? You get at I don't,
I don't know. I don't know that is Johnson all right?
By the way, burn burn pointing something out. This is
just a major air, a total disgrace. I would like

(12:23):
to take full responsibility for this because we did not
point out at the start of the show what today was. Yeah,
this go moment on me. I don't know if we
really should after last night scamp come on, I think
that that's what it was. It made you feel so dirty. Yeah,

(12:43):
but you know what, we should cleanse Come on, we
should wait till like another topic. You don't want to
cleanse yourself a little bit, just a little bit, sorry, Joe,
like makes you do this? We can shower later. It's fine,
we'll shower later. We'll clip ten sacks both from the
red zone pties interceptions. That's that's an awful performance, you know,

(13:08):
it's the best part about all that your home two
dudes carted off the field a concussion. Your home fans
were like, you know what, we don't want to stick
around for overtime. We're gonna go ahead and beat traffic.
That they were so upset when rushed through that the
interception that was like, forget this out of here, man,

(13:29):
Like this is crazy. Did you see how many like
about the way. That's not a fickle fan I mean,
they're not a fickle fan base. That's one of the
more royal fan bases. I mean, hell, they watched Tebow play.
I mean they got through those bad offense performances. Yeah,

(13:49):
let's ride. Be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar
Errington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am, EA
Staring three A. I'm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the I Heart Radio app. So the matchups on Thursday night,
have you guys liked them? Um? Yeah, I guess they

(14:14):
could roll out a bag of crap versus a bag
of vomit and I'd watch all three hours. I'll put
it this way. I think this year there's so much
parody in the NFL. It's hard to have what you
feel like, it's two bad teams because coming in this week,
like everyone was two and two for the most part,
and now you've got the Denver's a two win team

(14:35):
and and he is now a two win team. I mean,
I just I feel like there's a lot of parody.
So I don't have an issue with it. I think
when I watched last night, the thoughts that were growing
through my head were guys are getting card off the
field left and right. You know, is this the best
thing for players safety? You know, given the short time
frame after a Sunday game to get ready. And I

(14:56):
know that's always been a topic of conversation. I think
the difference for me is after we had that COVID
year where we were more flexible with the schedule, I
just I started thinking we could do this more often,
and we could do this to limit the four day
span in between games. You could change the schedule around
to have prime time games throughout the week, and you

(15:19):
would get the opportunity to rest guys more so they
don't have a four day of four days of recovery.
Even really less than that, if you think about the
fact you're playing on the fourth day, you could do
we we could do a better job of that. I
mean we've we talked to Dr Child about, you know,
implementing an additional bye week to help limit the impact.
If There'say night football and and grad you have to

(15:40):
push back the schedule another week, or you bump it
up a week sooner. But however you go about handling
that like, there's other ways of making it safer and
probably better. Like that's the other thing that comes out
is you have one day to prepare. So when people
are upset about the offensive performances, like, what do you expect?
Some of these guys couldn't even practice this week and
they're just coming trying to execute a game plan. Both

(16:01):
these quarterbacks just got to these teams this offseason. You
think they're they're overly comfortable. Like, I think it's funny
to me how people think that just because Matt Ryan's
played a lot of football, that he's gonna walk into
Frank Wright system and be able to run everything. He
has for over a decade called things, probably one or
two things, like if if it's a you know, a

(16:23):
slant and a flat combination, he's called it something and
it's ingrained in the back of his mind. And so
his first thought when he's called plays in in Indianapolis
when it's called something else is not what it is
an Indie. It's what it was calling all the time
it was in Atlanta. It's hard to flush that out.
That's why Payton when he got the Denver's like, no,
I'm bringing my offense because it's gonna be too much

(16:44):
for me to have to, you know, get over the
hurdle of calling it's something that you guys want to
call it. So I just I think there's other ways
of being better Thursday night football. And I don't know
the NFL is really invested in that because they're getting
a billion dollars as it is right now a year
for it. Okay. I was just curious how how you
guys were viewing Thursday Night. How are you guys in

(17:05):
viewing it? Enjoying it being on on Amazon Prime. It's
a little annoying, I mean, but yeah, it's it's it's
a bit annoying. I did like the intro last night.
They had this It was it was almost like Hard
Knocks to where it was like this big preview. They had,
you know, close up interviews, they had exclusives, all this stuff,
and it was sort of like a hype video for

(17:27):
the actual game. I like that. I think the people
on the on the desk have done a better job.
They've gotten better and better throughout. I thought, you know,
Richard Sherman had some comments last night, which we're gonna
get to coming up later on that I thought were
interesting and and all those guys seem like they're messing
a little bit. It's just it's annoying not to be
able to go to your standard, whatever your cable provider is,

(17:50):
and just click a channel and be able to watch
the game. That's a little annoying, but it is what
it is. It's either that or you know, sit around
and watch, you know, some Wheel of Fortune rerun. I
don't know, I but again, they could roll out whatever
they want to roll out. I'm gonna watch it. I
like watching preseason football. I like to me, I just
love football, So you know, I don't need all the

(18:12):
other bells and whistles to go along with it. I
don't need it to be in a great game. I
watched that entire game last night, and yeah, it was
bad football. I wasn't going to turn away from it.
So I don't know. Maybe I'm the wrong, the wrong.
I was missing plays by my daughter at the volleyball game,
watching the game, and it was interesting because a lot

(18:32):
of people were like, what's the score to bar Like,
I'm looking around, like how you know me? You're saying
my name? Why you asking me to score? Apparently people were,
you know, screen, screen, hustling me and checking out what
I had going on. But I thought it was you know,
I don't know, am I wrong for feeling like, even

(18:54):
if the game itself didn't yield the offensive output, it
or what it is that you were looking for. For me,
I just like, the quality of the picture is that horrible?
Like I was looking at it and I was like
it was clear, Like it was super clear last night.

(19:16):
It was like crystal clear, and I just like watching
high quality and it was it was interesting because it's
like for me, it's like I'm watching it and I'm
I'm it's hard for me to watch a game as
just a fan of the game, and that's why it's
it's difficult, I guess to do do sports or try

(19:39):
to do things casually. But I was like, you know,
for me, I was like, man, it looked really good.
I don't know, and maybe I was by myself on that,
but it looked good. At least it looked crystal clear
watching the game like I was like, I faced value.
I was like, man, I'm enjoying watching the game on
on my cell phone. And I don't think I would

(19:59):
have ever said that. I don't I never thought me
someone who takes so much pride in big screen television,
Like I want that whole experience when I'm watching stuff.
I was like really enjoying watching it on my on
my mobile device. The presentation is fine, it's just the

(20:20):
path you have to take to get to the presentation
a little annoying. I mean, but once you sign on,
I guess the whole idea of it is you want
to get more users on your platforms, you know, and
and the idea of it is is that once you
sign up, like it's simple, like you go, you you
download it, you hit to that boom is there, like

(20:41):
it's done, like you're good and not. You know, for me,
I didn't want to do it right. But you know,
I have a wife that uses Amazon Prime and and
quite a bit like all day long, Amazon Prime is
showing up at my door. Um that's that's I digress.
But but the point is is like it was easily

(21:03):
once she easily do an event. I mean, do you
want to do you want to talk about this? No?
I mean I could talk about it. You know, it's
one of here's the thing that's the most depressing thing
about when all those packages show up at your door.
I don't know how you are, but they're never for me.
I mean I never, like I kind of it's almost
like you see like there's like a gift sit there,
and you're like, oh, I wonder if like someone just

(21:24):
spontaneously got me something. You know, maybe they just there,
maybe they like we're walking by and they're like, oh,
you know, maybe Brady would really like this. It never happens.
There's never a package that's sitting at our house. That's
it's It really is depressing because here's here's the next
thought that hits my head. I'm gonna have to take
that box, cut it down right. I want to make

(21:46):
sure I could fit into the recycling bin, and all
the plastic little bags. I gotta pop to make sure
those fit down. And as those things stack up, I
just look at it, go all right, that's gonna take
me a minute. That's gonna save me five minute. That's
gonna take me ten that's to do all these boxes. Now,
it's gonna take me twenty minutes. Are recycling bins full.
I'm gonna have to take some space out of my

(22:07):
neighbor's recycling ben. Hopefully they didn't order a bunch of
Amazon packages. Like, it's just that's the reality of Amazon
in my life and right now, and sometimes you can
I give you an alternate reality. Sure, an entire garage
port full of boxes full. Yeah, you got the freezer.

(22:31):
What are you hoarding? Your hoarding cardboards? There's gonna be
a bump that comes by and steals on your cardboard
and sells it. No, it's first of all, I haven't
even watched a thing. So guys to whoever created the show.
Everybody and talking about the show put it this way.

(22:53):
I don't have a chili, I don't have a ribby.
I have interested in watching it. I really don't. But
talk about the fact they're trying to make him like
sympathetic for the way he was raised, Like that's what
do this? I'm like, Okay, there's some other people who
their parents had marital issues. Maybe the mom had a

(23:15):
pill popping issue, and maybe the dad like picking up
road kill and dissecting it whatever. Not. Everyone turned in
to Jeffrey Dahmer. Okay, I got I got news for you.
My dad I was beaten with a belt when I
was a kid. My dad didn't say that. My dad
did discipline might whatever beating discipline who cares. I don't

(23:38):
care it do beat. My parents were a little bit
hard on me at times. But you know what, you'll
never find in my house a human head in the freezer.
There's never gonna be a human head in the free Yeah,
what do you mean by that? You know exactly what
I mean? You know, it's also know about the Amazon boxes.

(24:01):
It's not like an old man by the way, when
you're talking about it. What do you mean it's so
annoying to get to it? Winter there? It's fine, it's
it's annoying man, like you don't think it's going come on,
you have around? Yeah, whatever, man, I'm going to get
to what to the Amazon game to watch it on TV,
to take all these nexts, got to click a couple
of things. I don't like it. But it's only one

(24:22):
time though. That's why, Like once you download the the
app or whatever, it's like you just go to the
app and then boom the games right there now with
my WIFEI real out here, here's what also watch these
days on the on the Amazon box? Thing you ever? Like?
You annoys me about the Amazon boxes. They've got those

(24:44):
They've got the strings in the tape. It's like you
can't just pull the tape off and break it down.
They've got like the little strings in the tape, you
know what I'm talking about, Like half box kind of knife.
It's a little annoying, but not for me. I mean
I just ripped it apart, but again jacked. The reason
why the garage port filled up was because there was

(25:07):
too many boxes to send out with the regular trash.
Like we're like up to like I want to say,
ten trash can what are you doing? Did you get
a dumpster shoe? I had to rent a dumpster, That's
what I'm saying. Still, I had no I mean we

(25:30):
had to get that s out of the garage like that.
It was like it literally took up the entire garage.
You gotta get a hold on that LaVar. That's a
lot man, bro and I lived with I lived with
four girls, one woman to two younger women and one

(25:50):
you know, seven year old growing woman. So it's like,
I don't know, man, Yeah, I am venting. This is
a I'm glad you asked directly into my future right now.
Then they got three girls. Let me tell you something.
Cancel those credit cards. Make it easy. They got their own.

(26:11):
Now they have their own And I know what I
was gonna say, Have you guys ever used the ability
to pay with your card on your phone? Just double click?
It is amazing. But I also was like, this is
also why this happens. Not only can you go on
Amazon with a couple of clicks and buy something, now
you just walk up to a register and do a
little double click the damn handless like hands free by Boom.

(26:36):
That just make it so much easier for you to
just spend your money, which I'm not a money spender.
I just watched I just watch it get spent, yeah,
on stuff that's really necessary. Right in the middle of
a hundred degree weather, Amazon package comes to the door.

(26:56):
I open it up and it's a beanie for my son,
and I look at my wife, ago, why do why? Well,
it was it was cheap. I'm like, it was so cute.
Hundred five degrees and he's a little kid, he's got
a giant head, he's got a pumpkin on his shoulders.
By the time we get to the time that he
needs to wear this because it's cold out, it's not
gonna fit anymore. We don't need it. We don't need

(27:17):
it at all. And the box was too big that
it came in. So it's just I don't know. They
must have some sort of a deal with a box
company because they send some stuff that's got way too
much room in those boxes. I don't even open the boxes.
You know what I do when I see him? I
kick him in the door, Like, I don't even pick
him up, just kick him inside of the door. And

(27:40):
the door. You got to get him inside loose. Porch pirates,
that's it. Porch pirates, pirate, one of my favorite, one
of my favorite terms, porch pirate. And then what was this?
What did you call? Was it screen? What did they do?
They screen? What did you LaVar? Last night? Somebody was

(28:01):
screen wunning you on your phone? Screen hustle. Yeah, they're
screen hustle. Ida, that's a good one too. Yeah, I
didn't know that was the term. Screens. There's that. They're like,
what's the score? Does? Like? Look about you are the
most unlikely person to tell ask me what is the score?
But since you're asking, so it's a hor horribly low score.

(28:24):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and
Jonas Knocks week days at six am Eastern three am Pacific. Hi,
this is Jay Glazer. And you may know me for
the world of football, or fighting or even shows like
hbos Ballers. Well you don't know is for my entire life.
I have lived in something I refer to as the

(28:46):
Great Depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a
new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental health podcast with Jay Glazer
where each week, well we talk about mental health. I
hope to describe it, give it words. Listen to one
Breakuple with Jay Glazer on the I Heart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Right now,

(29:07):
we welcome in Jerry Ferrara. He is an actor. He
is also the co host of bet MGMs Unleashed podcast.
We just turned football Friday into a Ferrara Football Friday. Jerry, Thanks,
So what's making the time? Man? Good morning? Oh, good morning, guys.
Good more. I like that Ferrara Football Friday. Thats a
nice ring too. Shoulna name the show that I'm telling

(29:28):
me it's a winner, Now, I got it. This is
a little known fact. A lot of people may not
realize this, but we list your credentials obviously Entourage and
power and now you've got the podcast. You were once
a Fox Sports radio host though, correct, Oh my god,
good pull right there. Yes, me and Sean Farnham. Back
in the day, it was Sunday, six pm, you know,

(29:50):
prime time for everybody, of course, in the middle of
the summer. H Yeah, that was my first That was
Fox Sports Game, my first opportunity to talk about sports,
I guess for defessionally, although I'm not very professional, it happens.
But today I remember I listened to you guys back
in the day. That was well before I was here.
So now many had you guys had a good show,
you know, a good show, yeah, charing me, Jonas Carries

(30:16):
LaVar and I. So that's how this was. Hey, Jerry,
I gotta ask you because it feels like everyone's got
a podcast now, but but obviously they're all for different reasons.
What inspired you? What made you want to bring out
this podcast and do this? Well? You know, I actually
started a podcast back in my wife you know, back
when there was only maybe about five hundred of them,

(30:37):
not five million podcasts, and that one was a little different.
We talked a lot about entourage and movies and TV
and stuff, so almost ten years with this one. I
just I always try to find ways to talk sports
where I could maybe somehow make a living because that's
what I do in my free time all the time
with my friends. So anytime you could find a way
to turn what you love talking about into a profession,

(30:58):
I'm all for that. And that's what I'm trying to
do here because that's what I literally spend all my
time doing is talking football and basketball. And now baseball
got the playoffs starting, so that's really the the inspiration
for it. You're from You're from n why you're you know,
you're East Coast guy. Who's your favorite team? Man? I
mean what, first off, what's your favorite sport? Is it?

(31:20):
It's got to be football you're a New Yorker, but
it could be basketball. It is football. It is football.
But you know, the team obviously that's tormented me the
most is the Knicks, and that's the team. I would
love to win a championship more than I always say,
what would I trade for a Knicks championship? I think
I would trade like the nine World Series and maybe

(31:40):
like the nineties Giants Super Bowl for a Knicks championship,
But no, football. I'm a I'm a Giants guy, and
you know I'm in nine group texts and my friends
trying to calm them down about their Jets, who are
apparently now going to the super Bowl. Alright, trust me, Bud,
you don't have to tell anyone more than you do me.
I'm donating a thousand dollars forever you win the rest
of the season, things forward, because all these bozos, their

(32:02):
Jet fans think I said they're gonna go oh and nine.
All right, Jered, I'm glad he brought that up. Let
me so be honest here. Why are Jets fans such
door knobs? Why are they? Why? Why did they get
so upset about anybody being critical of their team that's
been a bad football team for decades now? So I
think I I think I know why, and I think
it's my Nick fandom that will help me understand this.

(32:24):
It's because there's been, you know, so little to be
happy about. And I think Jeff fans are like, why
are you guys piling on us like we have? We
know we have Garrett Wilson now Zach Wilson. Can we
not be excited about that? And they should be those
guys are great. I think they're gonna be great for
a while. But you know, yeah, watching Jets Twitter on
a Sunday when they had that come back with it's like,
oh wow, this is you know, they're literally going to

(32:46):
the super Bowl this year. So I just think that
they haven't had a lot to be happy about and
now they do. But let's not get carried away, Jess fan,
Let's not get carried away. I hear you, man, trust me.
It's insufferable at times, but let's talk about your Giants.
With with Brian big Day balls, he's uh, what's impressed
you most about what you've seen out of them so far? Well,

(33:08):
I had good feelings about him and Camp when I
saw he was wearing Jordan's cement threes and Camp like,
that's what how I would be fower coach. So I
like them. Rite off the gate. But you know, you
talk about the Giants are another team who have not
had a lot to cheer about in the last few years.
But you know, you look at those Super Bowls, it's
really hard to get mad at the organization who's bringing

(33:29):
so much joy, But it's just culture, Like these guys
are playing hard. I don't think they're the most talented
team in the league, but they're playing together as a
team and now I think it just stay healthy. I
like Table showed it in Tennessee week one. You know,
I think obviously if that going for two didn't work out,
his his coaching career might not have gotten off to
such a great start. But it did, and I think
they're still riding high off that week one, you know,

(33:51):
two point conversion and hopefully it lasts. Although I don't know,
sae Quon maybe playing quarterback in London. Huh, that's interesting,
Uh anyway around, Wildcat right, listen that the show because
because obviously you are a super personality and you bring
a lot of energy and and some you know, some

(34:11):
humor and all, you know, just a lot of personality.
So does Peyton. Peyton is that type of guy too.
I mean, I think he's a pretty funny dude. Um,
what's the show? Like, what is the premise of the
is it like is it just straight betting or is
it is it more about like kind of like the
entertainment or y'all gonna be making fun of athletes? Like

(34:34):
what what? Like, you know, what is it? What? What
kind of is I guess the intel or overview. So
it's a little of both, all right. You know I
growing up in I grew up in Brooklyn, New York
in the nineties, so you know, sports betting, I could say,
was not an uncommon topic that twelve years old, so
it's definitely something I'm not unfamiliar with. But yeah, so

(34:58):
it's heavy betting, but you know, there's so many places
to go where you get all the data of betting.
I'm an emotional better, it's more therapeutic for us on
the podcast where uh, you know, I've had three straight
bad Browns beats. My my wife is from Cleveland. I
should not be betting on the Browns under and the circumstances.
So they're my team in law. It's stuff like that.

(35:19):
And my co host, who again it was much more
professional and that Olivia Harland Decker, you know, daughter of
Kevin the Great Kevin Harland. You know, she kind of
keeps me in check and brings me back to reality.
But last week our guest is are A Dickey, who
announced he's making a comeback and he'll be throwing the
knuckleball a fifty years old perfectonally and said he could
give the Mets three innings right now. If they called
him and the Mets needed three innings last week, that's

(35:40):
for sure. It is Jerry Ferrara joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio. Actor, co host of bet MGMs Unleashed podcast.
You can get him on Twitter at Jerry fer Our.
It's two pros and a cup of Joe here on
FS are. All right, so I know you're big boxing guy,
all right, Don't pull a Floyd Mayweather here, all right,
don't don't ball wash yourself and talk about all the
bets you want. I want to hear one specifically to
still haunt you, one that you look back on and

(36:02):
go that scarred me, that that traumati give us that story.
I gotta hear at Jerry. Um, Okay, we only have
to go maybe back two weeks. Uh, so we're gonna
reline the clock two weeks. And I broke one of
my rules, which is don't touch any New York teams
and stay away from the Browns because that's where my

(36:23):
wife is from. Don't don't even look at those teams.
So I had a five leg parlay which the Giants revolved.
It was basically the Jets Browns game. The one that
the Browns choked away. I had Brown's moneyline, no nothing.
I had the Dolphins and that monster comeback against the Ravens.
So I emotionally went through that entire game. So all
I had to do was Brown's just gotta take a

(36:44):
few knees and victory formations. And I think I hit
a five leg parlay that was like plus and they
choked the game away. And I'm still talking about it,
and I've been nasty to my in laws ever since.
No that is brewed. There's a lot of mismanagement on
the stretch of that. As a former Brown and Browns

(37:04):
fans still Jesus anyway, um, all right, let's get into this.
I gotta bring this up again. Just give them back
to your New York roots. Aaron Judge hits his sixty
second home run. Now, boy, yeah, are we viewing this history? Like?
How are you viewing that accomplishment? I do think it's
it's history because we we just haven't seen that number

(37:26):
in a long time, and it's still an impressive number.
Anytime we talk about Ruth and Marathon the Yankee history.
For sure, me personally, I'm sorry. You know, Bonds has
the record and that's the way I always feel. Thank you,
thank you. Thanks. I love Aaron Judge. I'm a Yankee fan,
I'm a diary and and sixty two is as impressive,

(37:48):
almost as impressive as it could get. But thick about it,
you know, nine more, leven more home runs. It's bonds
and the record. I'm sorry, that's let's let's not lie
about it. Thank you, thank you for that about I'm
going off topic here, Bro, because we got to talk
about some business here, all right. I'm a big power

(38:09):
fan and and and so did you enjoy doing the show?
And and as the show can continue to kind of
evolve and uh, you know unfold, like you and your
daughter stressed me out the most in the show. Like
there were a lot of stressful moments in the show,
but none more stressful than you and your daughter with

(38:31):
with you know, your baby mama. Like, did you like
the way your your character like kind of the way
it played out. I mean, you had a horrible in, Bro,
like you're you're in was horrible, but it was like
for the longest time, like you had to balance you
had it real balanced out. Man, It looked like it
was gonna work out for you. It didn't. Unfortunately. I

(38:53):
don't want to be a spoiler alert for anybody who
may watch it now, but I mean, how how how
did you enjoy doing the show? I mean, did did it?
Did it stress you out the way it stressed people
out watching hoping that things worked out? It definitely did.
I've always been grateful for Power. I'm a very, very
lucky guy to go from Entourage, which I was a

(39:14):
kid went Entourage started, I was twenty three years old.
You know, I didn't know what I was doing. And
then Power came along when I was about thirty one,
and I did. Have you put it in sports terms,
I was a vet. I was ring chasing at that point.
I was looking for a ring. You know. Power was
just was a great show, and I was I was
an adult. I'm wearing suits, I'm playing a defense lawyer.

(39:35):
I'm doing scenes with great actors and stuff like that.
And as far as the death, here's why it was
stressful to play Proctor. Right. It's similar to I would say,
like on Hard Knocks. You remember on Hard Knocks when
they call that players trying to make the team and
they're like, oh, coach wants to see you bring your
playbook and you know what's happening with Courtney Kemp who
runs Power. When you when your character's time is up,

(39:55):
you get that call from Courtney it's like, hey, come
to my office bring your script. And you're like, oh, no,
it's happening. So it was a stressful. As you know,
my character lasted very long. But you're kind of you're
thinking the back of your mind. I know it's gonna end,
it end for everybody on the show. How does that work?
Because I knew it was coming, Jerry, do you try
to sweet talk maybe the scriptwriters, the people just to

(40:17):
keep your character there longer? Like, how does that work?
I think it works against you because I think the
more beloved the character, I think, the more enjoyment, uh,
you know, erasing that character. If you saw what happened
to me, it was it was not like a quick
thing it was it was Yeah, it was like a
Western it was. It was painful. Man. Tommy came up

(40:38):
in there own you die. It was thrown down. It's
so funny too. Right. The day after that, the day
after that episode aired, I went to Rangers game at
Matson Square Garden and Joe Shikora, who plays Tommy, happened
to be going to so we walked into the arena.
They showed us on the jumbo chart and they're like
tears and foods. People are losing their lines. I didn't

(41:00):
know what happened. This was like two days later. He
is Jerry Ferrara, actor, co host of bet MGMs Unleashed podcast.
You can get him on Twitter at Jerry Ferrara. Also
a diehard Giants fan. You've got an early kickoff on Sunday,
so six thirty kickoff there Giants packers in London, so
I'm sure you'll be up and ready to roar for
all that. Jerry, We appreciate it, man, Thanks so much

(41:22):
for popping on. Let's do it again soon. Good luck Broute,
thank you, keep up the good work. Jerry Ferrara. See
that's an honest New York Yankees fan, an honest Giants fan, right,
call it like it is. If you could have pegged
one question out of our our trio or tripod here,

(41:44):
Jonas asked you about his boars beat was number one
on my list of things to be asked. Yeah, there's
no doubt in my mind. Jonas has lost so many
bad bets. He loves like reveling with other people who
have had bad beat Mystery loves company. All right, listen,
I do that was common? That was your first question. Yeah,
so excited when he said it's therapeutic, you were like, yeah,

(42:07):
because I know what it's like. Man, And listen, I'm
a common man, just relatable, a common man. But you
don't know about you don't know about Proctor, Jo. Why
don't you try to do the exact opposite of what
you think you should do? And some of your gambling
because I believe that one of these days my fortune
is going to turn all right. I have faith. You know.

(42:29):
It's like the old the old adage from Thomas Edison.
Many of life's great failures are people who don't realize
how close they were to success before they gave up.
I refused to give up. I'm gonna keep losing money,
but you know what it's going to pay off. I
walked into the fitness room this morning and I saw
a cool in the wall. So that'd be stronger than
your excuses. Yeah, that sounds a lot like the excuse

(42:52):
I know, LaVar, can we get you back? Unlike a
hardcore like training program. I would love to man, it's
been like, it's been seven years, seven years and years
since what since I've had a hardcore workout, Like, but

(43:12):
you've like worked out in the past seven years. Uh,
kind of sort of would stand being kind of sort of?
I walk. I have gone a few times. You're like,
my buddy the meat wagon he walks. He gets sensitive
about it though, Like I asked him I wanted to
for your workouts? Well no, but he I go, what
do you want for your workouts? He goes, I walk.

(43:34):
I'm like, like that's all He's like, yeah, I walk,
all right, I walk. That's good. Since he's sensitive, you
should bring it up on national radio. I was just
trying to clarify that. I mean, because because that's people
who understand that that's your main source of exercising. Um,
it is offensive when someone minimizes walking. I wasn't. I

(43:56):
wasn't trying to minimize I was just clarifying the meat
wagon else the met because he's a medi individual. I thought,
so am I I'm not medy, like like you know,
I'm obese, I'm fat. But here's the thing, right, here's
the thing. I walk because that is the that is
the one thing that I don't make an excuse to

(44:18):
talk myself out of doing LaVar. I support you. I
support you too. Hey, me and the meat wagon, we
we gotta deal now. Roberto walks, but Roberto's tell him
he walks a little different where, you know his bbe
sea walking. The sea walk. I mean, we're not gonna

(44:38):
hit the button on that. No button hit on that.
I mean, unbelievable, anybody walking out there, We appreciate you.
If anything, I mean, it wasn't actually because you know,
sea walking is you know, well black, you know alright.
