Pete.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Good morning, what's up guys?

Speaker 5 (01:37):
There you go?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Morning?

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yeah, what's up? Pete?

Speaker 6 (01:41):
Into that Pete bet chaka?

Speaker 7 (01:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Maybe is that what they say in Belgium or what hasselofs?
What German?

Speaker 7 (01:49):
What is he? No, he was big in Germany, that's right.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
I'm sure he's big in Belgium too, And uh yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:57):
What about us?

Speaker 8 (01:58):
Anybody seeing Christian Cousins?

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Who all? That is rude?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Pete? You trying to compare him to Kirk Cousins, that's rude.

Speaker 7 (02:12):
Well it didn't show up.

Speaker 9 (02:13):
In a big game, right?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Oh no?

Speaker 7 (02:18):
Is that so?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
It's gonna I was gonna ask you for a for
an NFL team comparison. Who reminds you of of the
US from the NFL standpoint, a team that always gets
to a certain point but can't get over the top.
But you went straight to the UH, to the Kirk
Cousins wholisic UH comparison.

Speaker 8 (02:37):
I mean, I mean, everybody's all up in arms. How
do we get past the next level? Well, there's a
bunch of different ways. Hey, let's stop making soccer. That's
an elite sport. And by that I mean, now, I
don't know this because I don't have kids, but I
talked to people that do. I think it's expensive to

(02:57):
be on and play that sport now, and in other
sports other countries they roll the ball out and say
go play in the backyard. Nobody does that around here anymore, nobody.
No sports are played in the backyard anymore, or on
a field or a pickup game.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
And I don't have.

Speaker 8 (03:15):
Kids, so I don't know this. But my brother has kids.
I was talking to him the other day. He's on
a travel basketball team. The amount of money they spend
is incredible. Not only that when you get there, they
charge you like a fee forty five bucks to go
watch your kid play for a couple of games. What
are we doing here, and then we wonder why the
sport isn't exploding. Well, it's not exploding because it should

(03:38):
be a cheap sport where you throw the ball out
into the park and everybody goes and learns how to
play soccer. Instead, they've made an elite sport where you
got to go to these academies and get coached and
learn how to do it. And that's part of the problem.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
You know, I don't disagree with you, Pete.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I'm kind of curious to hear what LeVar thinks too
about this and Jonas, even though I think Jonas, you're
just now getting into it. Like one of my observations,
I heard this recently when when talking about some high
school coaches, they're talking about the system they're running, and
if you look at like how much even just the
quarterback position in the NFL has changed where everything I
mean you used to have to had to play from

(04:12):
You still do have to play from the pocket with
a sense of timing and rhythm and anticipation. But as
much as that's a part of it, some of that
can be trained, and what you can't train is the
you know, improv that comes along with creating when things
break down or making that awkward arm throw and all
that stuff, and that backyard football.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
As you're kind of pointing to or alluding to. I
think that's it's like that in a lot of sports.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I mean, my kids are a part of a club
and everything's it's like they're make you into robots, and
it's becoming so mechanical and so overcoached in some ways
where there is no creativity to that sport. And I
do think that that probably plays a bit of a role.
I mean, I think the other issue, and quite frankly,
I think we all can agree, like soccer not in

(05:00):
the forefront of any sport here. It's just not like
as big as it is in the United States. It's
not as big as it is in Europe. It's not
the first sport they pick up. They play everything else.
It might be something that kids do here, but after
a while they transition to other sports that you know,
it is more ingrained in our culture.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Like football or baseball or whatever else. Is a part
of that. I mean, that's that's also something you kind of.

Speaker 8 (05:22):
Can't deny, right And then you know, like you said, Brady,
you start a lot of kids start off playing soccer.
I mean, that's the sort you know you've played. So
I played soccer when I was a little kid. But
then you transition to the to the other sports, and
then the ones that are left behind are the ones
that can't play the other sports, and basically a lot
of them. And so I mean, that's that's the reality.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
It is crazy. Soccer is a starter sport. It definitely
is Soccer and t ball one, right.

Speaker 8 (05:52):
I mean, and so in this country they are, but
another country. But again, though, let me ask you this, guys,
you drive around, you're in different cities, right, how many
times do you see a go buy a baseball field
the middle of the afternoon on a summer day and see.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
Kids playing over there?

Speaker 8 (06:06):
And I'm not talking about I'm talking about the pickup game.

Speaker 6 (06:08):
I don't see anymore pick up. I don't see basketball.
I don't see kids outside anymore. That's crazy, and that's.

Speaker 7 (06:16):
Part of the problem.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
Everything is, like Brady, you said, every becomes robotic because okay,
well we're gonna play this game at two o'clock and
you're gonna go here.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
And and think about this like they have like one of
the worst lessons I think we teach kids is they
have a coach at a young age like saying no,
you need to do it this way. It's like, well,
maybe it doesn't work for them, Like maybe they found
out a different way of doing it. It's like, you
can't shape us all to be the exact dame how
it's supposed to look and feel it Like it's gonna
be different for everyone. You've got to figure out how

(06:46):
it works for you. And by the way, like just
because you work with a private quarterback coach, that doesn't
mean you have any greater shot of making it to
be Tom Brady one day.

Speaker 8 (06:55):
Like that's the other thing next and that's my next point, Brady,
is this, Hey guys, let's tell all the parents the
reality of it. Little Tommy ain't gonna make it. He's
not gonna make it. You can spend all the damn
money you want. You can put him in every clinic
and every class and every school you want to put
him into in terms of making him a better player.
The reality is little Tommy isn't going to make it.

Speaker 7 (07:18):
Okay, that's the one.

Speaker 8 (07:19):
You're about ninety nine percent that your kid isn't making it.

Speaker 7 (07:23):
So quick, let him go enjoys life.

Speaker 8 (07:27):
Little Tommy though, well, Tommy, Timmy, Bobby, whatever you want
to do it, he ain't making it either, are you aren't.

Speaker 7 (07:34):
That's the reality of it.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
And by the way, or latif.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Or you know, well yeah him too, he ain't making
it either.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
The reality is. The reality is is you can spend
all the money in the world. If a kid doesn't
have it, and he doesn't have the skills and he
doesn't have the ability, he isn't making it. And first
and foremost, the number one prerequisite for making it is
competitive drive. And I think that's something that's gone away
too with all this stuff. You know, when you wanted

(08:03):
to play, Brady, you'd get up and you go play
and you go work out because.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
You wanted to do it.

Speaker 8 (08:07):
Nobody was forcing you to do it.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I used to I used to shoot hoops on this
little fisherp I've told this story, I think to LeVar
and Jonas.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
But I've always gotten up early. I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I just have never been a great sleeper. But I'd
get up at like six am or a little bit
maybe even before that. And I used to have this
Fisher Price hoop does on our back patio, and I
would get up and I would shoot hoops in the morning,
and my mom used to always yell at me because
it'd be like, you hear the bouncing, and She's like,
it's too early for that. And I'll never forget one morning.
The night before this is like the last time I

(08:41):
everride a hot dog. I had like a hot dog,
some orange jubes and a bunch of chips, and I
just threw it up all over the back patio, like everywhere,
like projectile vomiting everywhere of this back patio where I
had my little Fisher Price hoop. And that was the
last time I ever had a hot Oh.

Speaker 8 (09:02):
I grew up with brothers. We played We played nerf
hoop in the house.

Speaker 7 (09:05):
We're competitive.

Speaker 8 (09:06):
We throw each other into the into the wall and stuff.
That's how you learn competitive drive. You don't learn it
by having you know, this coach tell you, well, you know,
if you'd hit it this way, you're going to go
to the next academy. And then when you get to
the next academy, you might make the next academy, but
you know what, you're gonna spend boat loads of money
at each academy and you're never making it. You're never
making either you have any or you don't.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
I tell this story. I told you.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
I think I've told you guys the story. When I
was turned in fifty, I worked at this high intensity
place where all these professional athletes worked out. And the
reason I did is because they trained me sold it
to me. I was doing my radio show and we
promoted it on the air.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
It was brutal. Okay, it was brutal. And there were
a lot of athletes.

Speaker 8 (09:45):
In there, and one of them was Murphy, who played
for the Mets. He was a good player league at
hitting at one point. Murphy Jacksonville kid, nice guy and
big t bow supporter. So me and him used to
get into it a lot, by the way, but worse
in there. And there's a batting cage in there and
his kids in there. He's like fourteen, he's ripping line drives,

(10:05):
who shoo, shoo shoot, and Murphy goes, oh, my God,
walked over gave him a couple of tips, and he's like,
that kid doesn't need any tips. I said, why doesn't
need any tips? He goes even natural, You know that
kid ended up being Tabby Baiaz.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Oh have it?

Speaker 7 (10:19):
Either have it or you don't.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
That's one good story, Pete.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
That is a good story, but but that I don't
know that that makes By the.

Speaker 7 (10:28):
Way, he's in that cage all day, and he did.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Well for himself, Pete, he got paid.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Well, that is that makes your statements true, though, Pete,
that's all I'm saying. Is a great story, But I
don't know that it brings to full one hundred percent
relevance of the validity of saying you either have it
or you don't.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
I tend to believe.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
I tend to believe that that hard work out outweighs
and out does talent every single time. There are some
guys that are nowhere near or as talented or as gifted.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well, you didn't watch the SOCCs last night, then, Pale,
let me tell you.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
Yeah, yeah, LeVar, let's not Look if.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
You didn't watch, you didn't watch any other side, you
didn't watch the World Cup anyway, Well I did not.

Speaker 8 (11:14):
If it's all equal, and the hard worker works, then
then the hard worker is going to go past the
guy who doesn't work as hard.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
That's that's a given. But let's put it this way.

Speaker 8 (11:24):
Me, when I was a kid, I was five foot six,
and I worked my ass off, and I was good
at basketball. I wasn't going anywhere.

Speaker 7 (11:31):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 8 (11:32):
They look at me.

Speaker 7 (11:33):
What are you doing? Kid?

Speaker 8 (11:34):
Get out of here, slap me to the side, Give
me a break. Either have it or you don't.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I mean, LeVar, don't make me bring out I'll show
you a high school photo I've got if you playing
basketball right like you saying, don't do try to pull
that out there.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
I just I'm just saying I think hard work, especially
in high school and and younger, younger levels, and maybe
even in the I've seen dudes circum Come on, Brady,
there were dudes you saw on your team at Notre
Dame and you're like, how.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Is this dude not starting? How is he not starting?
And for no reason or.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
No, I didn't feel like that at all.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
I felt like there was guys who maximized what they
were with hard work. Correct, But to Pete's point, there
were certain guys who didn't have to work that hard
because they was so talented. And then there's the other
thing I'd say is when we played certain teams and
I noticed this morning in the NFL too, only because
of like you know, the type of guys we got

(12:35):
a Notre Dame. You had certain guys who were extraordinarily
talented and they didn't have to practice as much, they
didn't have to work as hard, and they were still extraordinary.
And that was foreign to me because I was not.
I was blessed with size and ability. I wasn't blessed
with as much talent, and so work ethic was a
big thing for me. And it's a wake up call
when you get around people who you're working as hard

(12:57):
as you can just to be able to get close
to their.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Level of ability.

Speaker 8 (13:03):
Yeah, and Brady, that's that's when you have the ultimate,
the guy that's talented and puts in all that work
and labar. I'm not disputing what you're saying. Work ethic
is important, no question about it. And you see so
many guys waste their talent by not putting the work in.
But again, you can if you don't have the ability.
And how many times have you guys, A little little

(13:23):
Tommy's going to go to junior college. Then he's going
to go to the college and he's going to play
his full scholarship and then he's going to get drafted.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
No, he's not.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
Okay, you can spend all the money in the world,
and none of that is happening.

Speaker 7 (13:35):
It just isn't.

Speaker 8 (13:36):
And you guys know parents, you've dealt with parents who say, oh,
my little guy is going.

Speaker 7 (13:41):
To be in the majors.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
He's not.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
He's not.

Speaker 8 (13:44):
The reality is he's not.

Speaker 7 (13:45):
Okay, so just stop it.

Speaker 8 (13:47):
Go let your kid go play pick up baseball in
the park and learn how to be a competitor in life.
That's what you want.

Speaker 7 (13:53):
You want to compete in life.

Speaker 8 (13:54):
Life is a competition. He's not going to be competing
well enough to make it to the major leagues or
the NFL or the NBA. But you know what he
can do. He can compete in the life. Teach him that.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
What is that though? Hold on, no, no, don't clack
that up. Yeah, well, so he's not good enough to.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Come about them apples? Bar that take that.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Bar, rise up, all you short white guys, come on, yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
E crowvar. I'm just trying to understand.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Is also look at the group text, the photo I
just sent you. You're telling me little number twenty one, as
hard as he works, gonna be able to compete with
number fifty five for the North Hills hammer.

Speaker 6 (14:33):
You want to with that noise, p let me tell
you what's crazy about that photo?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
By the way, what a stud? I want to send
you this picture LeVar in high school. And also I
talked to a dude who played against him recently. What
a flipping stud? I mean, if you walked into a
gym you saw that kid, You're like, that's going.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
To be a pro athlete. Here's what's funny. And that's
the freshman team. And I'm in the eighth yearl one,
that's an eighth grade photo.

Speaker 8 (14:58):
We knew all along you were going to be you
had it.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
By the way, well, you look like you could be
like twenty eighth.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
It looks like I was in eighth grade.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
It looks like ten Mormons standing next to a guy
who plays for the jazz But you, you honestly looked.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Like you could see why we were able to do
this show now though, right.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Much, Hey, I'll tell you this much. Tell me my
false number twenty five. Tell me that kid couldn't shoot.
He just looks like he's got that like stone cold
shooter look.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
On his face.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
You in ninth grade, he had no game.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
I grew to six three in the sixth grade and
never grew another inch, never grew another inch.

Speaker 7 (15:39):
You were that guy.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
You were the kid I always looked like, you know,
you had.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
To bring my birth certificate.

Speaker 8 (15:44):
You know, I know if you.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
Remember this guy.

Speaker 8 (15:46):
But James Jones was the first round pick of the
Detroit Lions of the running back back in the day
and played the league for a long time from Florida.
When I was in the senior in high school, we
played against his football team a and his basketball team,
and he was two years behind me. I'll never forget.
That kid was like a man when he was in
tenth grade, and you just knew.

Speaker 7 (16:07):
That that was gonna happen.

Speaker 8 (16:08):
And I found their point guard in the game once
hammered them and did the nice thing. I did a purpose,
but it did the nice thing to try and pick
them up. And next thing I know, I hear.

Speaker 7 (16:19):
Leave them alone.

Speaker 8 (16:20):
I forgot the mountain of a man's candy over me.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
He was like fifteen.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
He had it all of your face.

Speaker 7 (16:35):
Nonna, what are you gonna do it? Throw me through
the wall.

Speaker 8 (16:38):
Come on, LaVar, nothing's ever gonna get It's not gonna
get bad on a fight in a game or anything.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
It never It can't not in basketball, at least, I've
never seen any any not even.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
The baddest of the baddest dudes.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
I know how they talk about Oak and all of them,
but I ain't never seen no bad fight between those.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
No, Yeah, Washington back in the day.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
He got the sucker punch.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
Yeah, the sucker punch all rue, it landed, But that
still wasn't no straight like you ain't see. I ain't
never even with Alonzo mourning in them, I ain't know what.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
Barkley Caryl Dawkins squared up way back in to day,
remember that one.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
But it was a good square up.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
That was an old, good old school square up.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
But I've never seen real thumping and basketball.

Speaker 7 (17:21):
I agree with you. I agree with you. It's never.
It's never what you think it is.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Yeah, Pete, can we talk about like one football subject
real quick.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
It's been a lot of soccer so far, and you
know all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
You're in Arizona State alum, And I've got to ask
you about another alum who I don't know what the
hell he's doing, but Brendon Ayuk and the way he's
portraying himself right now via social media channels and these
videos he's putting out talking about boy, you know, help
me understand if there is there a strategy behind this

(17:55):
to get out from San Francisco and get somewhere else
because the landing spot and then it seemed like it
would be a good idea.

Speaker 5 (18:02):
But now that it feels like that shift sale your people, Pete.

Speaker 8 (18:05):
Oh yeah, look, he there's been always been talk about
him and that kind of stuff going on, by the way,
I mean, it's nothing new, but the fact that it's
so public right now, it just I don't know what
his endgame is.

Speaker 7 (18:16):
What.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
I know he's trying to get out of San Francisco,
But why do you attack to the team you're trying
to go to.

Speaker 7 (18:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 8 (18:23):
I think there's some real problems there. And you know
rand Carthon, who was there in San Francisco works with
US now and drafted him.

Speaker 7 (18:32):
Was there, was there when they drafted him, and said
on the on their podcast the other days to try
and reach out to them.

Speaker 8 (18:37):
I mean, but somebody needs to get talk some sense
into the kid.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
I mean, I don't think go by.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
His house, but that didn't go well. Maybe Big white
Man and to different around.

Speaker 8 (18:48):
He's got real beef with those forty nine ers right now.

Speaker 7 (18:53):
I mean, you know, and so that probably wasn't going
to go well.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
But again, he's got there's talent there. It's going the
waist and right now you're to the point where if
your team, is it worth the aggravation. That's the question
you got.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
To ask yourself, Pete, do you think Aaron Donald is
going to make the decision to come back and play?
A lot of hints, a lot of speculation, he keeps
stirring the pot whenever the question gets asked on social media.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
It feels like we're at a point where that's going
to get done. What say you?

Speaker 8 (19:25):
Yeah, look and you guys know this, if you're married.
I don't think he's going to make that decision, you
know what I mean? Like he can put all the
hints out there he wants, but we know where that
decision's coming from.

Speaker 7 (19:38):
That's going to come from the wife.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
And you know, if she wants him to go back
and play, if he wants to go back and play,
and she says go, he'll go play. If he wants
to go back and play, and she says no, he
won't go play. So I think that's ultimately what's going
to happen.

Speaker 7 (19:50):
But I think there's a lot of smoke there.

Speaker 8 (19:53):
It sounds like he wants to give it another run,
and if she says go, he goes. And boy, oh boy,
if he plays on that team with that defense, my god,
I mean, because then you know they're gonna score points,
and you know Sean McVay is gonna have him ready
to go if he gets in the middle of that
line with all those other guys on there. Because you know,
people forget our young is a damn good player too.

(20:16):
He was a top one hundred player on my list.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Yeah he is.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
He's on your list. Okay, rash up my list, Brady.

Speaker 8 (20:23):
That means you're a good football player.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
You know how that I wouldn't know, Pete wouldn't know.
I also don't look at your list. I usually printed out,
I balled up, then I uncrumble it, then I balled
up again just to soften up a bit.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Then I wipe my ass.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
With oh oh wow, oh.

Speaker 8 (20:39):
Wow, because he was never on the list.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
No, it's because I've worked with you long enough to
know your opinion doesn't matter.

Speaker 7 (20:50):
Because Brady, I started that lost way back in the day.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Was I know, I know you know, I'm I know
how much work I know honestly, I know how much
work goes into it too, so I don't I know,
we'll take it lightly.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
That's why we talked to you about it.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Yeah, I take a different stance on that.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Pete, just actually hold on, hold on, Pete, did.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
I want to flush the toilet? I feel good about
Brady's first take.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Weren't you the first to do power rankings too?

Speaker 4 (21:15):
I was really, yeah, yeah, you're the one.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
Which can we go back to the I didn't invent them?
I agin honestly sit here and say I didn't invent him.
When I went to CBS, which was in two thousand,
we were then sports Line, somebody said, hey, why don't
you do power rankings and ranked the team? It wasn't
even my idea, and I said, okay, I'll do it,
and so I've done it everything.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
So so okay, real quick, because I've always had this
gripe with you, what the hell does that mean? Because
there's times when you have teams who have a worse
record ahead of other.

Speaker 5 (21:44):
Teams, and it's like, so it's just basically your opinion.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
Of yeah, I mean people, you.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Know, so hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
On, So hold no, no, no, no, hold on, hold on.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
So you you are constantly talk about the college football
game and all that stuff and everything else. You're no
different than the college flaw Playoff committee. That's all you're doing.
You're doing the same exact thing, but on a weekly basis.
And power rankings for the NFL.

Speaker 7 (22:11):
Yeah, but mine don't mean crap.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Well, they need something to someone, That's why. That's why
they're still going.

Speaker 8 (22:16):
The point it means something to everybody because it's it's
it's it's the most red thing every single week. It's
the most talked about thing every single week, and it
means absolutely nothing. So when I do it and I
put them together, I'm doing it with an eye on
who am.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
I going to irritate this week? And so I do
it that way.

Speaker 8 (22:35):
So there's a lot of stuff at play there. But
you know what all people who do is get angry mad,
and it stirs the pot.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
And I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I had no idea you were the godfather of the
power rankings. I had no idea.

Speaker 7 (22:48):
Grandpa's what's your power ranking?

Speaker 4 (22:51):
AP? What's your power ranking for Marcellus Wiley?

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Oh pass.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Just figured out to ask.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
I mean, no, we've not brought it up all show,
and I know we're sports talk radio, so I just
figured out to lob it out there for you because
I know you like making headlines.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
So there there was your chance, but you took a pass.

Speaker 7 (23:14):
So okay, I'll pass on that. I'm not getting involved
in that.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
All right, move, Pete.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
But we h when do you start mapping out the
training camp tour? When does that take place?

Speaker 8 (23:25):
I'm already trying to figure out some early stuff now,
and believe it or not, it's it's kind of sad
that it's already coming to that. I mean, I love
I love training camp, but it seems like it's right
around the corner and it seems like the other part
of it just ended. I mean, it's crazy. So I'm
looking at my teams. I go to my normal teams
that I go see, spend some time with them.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Camp Softy.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Who's that the Dolphins? You call them Camp Softy? Last year?

Speaker 7 (23:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (23:53):
Not anymore though, new new staff, no more, no more
cool Orange Jersey to the guy who practiced hard he
could play his own music.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
The next day, I heard they're getting it in in
New York.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
I heard that. I heard the Giants I heard Horrorball
got them boys rocking and rolling.

Speaker 8 (24:11):
Yeah, but they'll be better. I mean, I don't know
how much better. I think the Cowboys is going to.

Speaker 7 (24:15):
Be really good.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
That's my one of my early early proclamations, that Dallas Cowboy.

Speaker 7 (24:20):
Is going to be really good and win a division.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
If you say it enough, it might happen.

Speaker 7 (24:25):
Yeah, I know you don't want to hear that.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
I don't care if you say it off here. Why
would I care? I mean, if they're.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
Good, they're good.

Speaker 8 (24:33):
You were a commit your commander, you're at heart your commander.

Speaker 6 (24:37):
I'm a Penn State Ndney Line. I thought he was
a redskin, but you know I'm a.

Speaker 8 (24:42):
Pace your Penn State.

Speaker 7 (24:44):
And well they're not any good either.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
So it's relaxed. Relax Pete.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Now you're getting carried away your quarterback this year.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, little Roco Italian, you'd be excited about it.

Speaker 8 (24:58):
He's a good little player.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
But can you stop saying good little like you do that?

Speaker 7 (25:02):
Little?

Speaker 6 (25:03):
What if we called you good little reporter or a
good little analyst like I am a good.

Speaker 8 (25:07):
Little reporter, I'm not just an insult to me.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
That's not an insult to me.

Speaker 8 (25:11):
I'm little and I'm good.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
So okay, that's good as long as you're good, Hey, Pete,
year as.

Speaker 8 (25:19):
You get older, you shrink.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
I told you who plays quarterback for Penn State Pete
rock Obect.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Okay, how it was better at that time.

Speaker 7 (25:30):
You guys think he's good.

Speaker 5 (25:32):
I think he's good.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
I actually think Penn State's gonna better and people will
give him credit. And I think this is one of
those like everyone watched last year.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
They're like, oh, man down here, but.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
It's like, no, dude.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
They they brought in a lot of guys who are experienced,
no Matt Campbell's system, and I think they're gonna be
much better than people give them credit.

Speaker 8 (25:49):
And Matt Campbell's a really good coach.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
By the way.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Yeah, I honestly I think Penn State's gonna win ten games.
I would not be shocked at all if they don't.
I don't be like that surprise team that no one's
they're not talking about enough right.

Speaker 8 (26:03):
Now, right Brady, When LeVar and all the ex players
got together and got James Franklin, that's.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
A good point, hey, Pete.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
I got a son there so and he went there
and was recruited by James Franklin. So that is not
on me, That's not I mean, that was totally on him.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
I didn't get him the job. I didn't get him
out of the job.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
So, Pete, you didn't think James Franklin was a good
little coach.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
No, what about that little quarterback again?

Speaker 8 (26:38):
I thought he built the program pretty well, little program
once he got to the program built up. It's kind
of when in game management was not one of his strengths.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
I didn't think.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Well, Pete, we appreciate it as always a fun and
good time with the great Pete Prisco here, the.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Godfather of the power ranking.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
You can get him on ex at Prisco CBS and
we'll do it again next week.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
All right, guys, take care there he is.

He is the co host of the Petros and Money Show,
which you can hear on the blowtorch Am five seventy
LA Sports, a Fox College football analyst and our good
friend that you can find on x at the Ope. Petros,
good morning, good morning, good morning, sir.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Hello what up? P Good morning Brady, hellol of our Hi.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Buddy, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
I hear you, hi, Petros, Yes, good morning, Jonas.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
How are you, uh, how are you handling just the
fallout and the disappointment of Team USA and the World
Cup just really disappointing situation.

Speaker 11 (29:51):
You know, I was upset about it until I saw
how upset the coach at Egypt was, and then I
was kind of happy that he was upset, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 4 (30:01):
He how did our upset?

Speaker 11 (30:03):
Yeah? I just there's a lot of emotion, a lot
of international emotion, and I think it's interesting and it's
an interesting contrast because we did enjoy the World Cup
while the US was there. I think people are enjoying
it still and it's going to be a spectacle in
North America until it's over. I think it can't be

(30:25):
argued that this has been a great success so far,
and people have loved, particularly being in the United States
and going to games and enjoying our venues and all
the different stuff we have to offer. I think that's
been a really cool, sort of additive or whatever of
this event. I think that the interesting contrast is and

(30:50):
it's a real point. These people that are Argentina or
Columbia or anybody else, they live this with every organ
in their body, and when they lose, there are months
and months and months of desolation and sadness. And for us,
it's like, oh, okay, well back to baseball. No Tani

(31:13):
hit a home run, when's pro football starting? You know
that kind of stuff. It kind of washes out of
our consciousness pretty fast because of our twenty four to
seven sports media, And the team was so darn disappointing
and got so dominated by a really good European team.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
So I guess that shows you what the gap is.

Speaker 11 (31:32):
But as far as the whole event and everything, I
think it's been pretty damn great.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
And for anybody arguing that.

Speaker 11 (31:38):
It's too political, I would ask the question, how do
you think the damn thing ended up in Cutter four
years ago?

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Yeah, let's just do this, let's just do Why are
we doing?

Speaker 11 (31:48):
Why are we doing this event in this terrible desert
country filled with angry Bedouins that aren't even from here.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Let's yeah, let's go. People.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
People were dying building the stadium.

Speaker 11 (31:58):
Yeah, they were getting very inside the stadiums, and we
were like, oh, you know, but I hate it here
in the US.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
It's too political.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Shut Petro's my favorite is now Trump's taking the blame
for their loss. It was like, well, if you didn't intervened,
then they probably would have won or played better.

Speaker 11 (32:13):
I was like, oh, anytime he shows up, there's gonna
be a fifty to fifty vibe and that's okay. You know,
when he comes to a college football game, they go
absolutely bonkers for him. But yeah, Trump is one thing.
But the politics of the World Cup is part of
the World Cup.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
I mean, that's that's the whole thing.

Speaker 11 (32:31):
There's countries involved, countries are political, countries have borders. They
all have different beliefs and religious beliefs and you know,
death to America being chanted before getmes and stuff like that.
I mean, whatever, it's it's that's the world. That's how
it is. But I think it's funny that people would
be like, well, there's no place for politics of the
World Cup.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
It's like, for real, did you have fun and cutter?
Shut up?

Speaker 6 (32:55):
Can I switch to a real sport or do you
guys want to continue to talk that?

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Has that been your stance for a month?

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Oh buddy, I've had soccer.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
I have literally had easy shows for at least thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
It is kind of funny.

Speaker 11 (33:12):
Though, like when you turn on the talking head shows
and some talking head that you already don't respect, like
Broussard with his wah what sorry and uh like okay,
and he's sitting there and talking and like the Chiron says,
is Spain in trouble after their time with Cape Verde.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
It's like, what shut up Broussard?

Speaker 4 (33:35):
You know, because I don't.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
I don't care enough to know enough about it, and
I just, you know, I'd rather be real with with
our listening fans versus you know, sugarcoated and act like
I know it, Like I can read pretty well. You
see that shoe. It says a dta see. I can't
get through it if I read it.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
But I don't. I just don't care to read it.
I don't.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
You work in sports, and you do.

Speaker 11 (34:00):
I had that dismissive attitude for many, many, many, many
many years, and I believe it was because, well because
growing up, when we grew up, everybody that didn't play
football was a weenie. I'd use a different word, but.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Of course you would, right, and that.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
Right, okay, there you go in most places, there you go.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Yeah, well you got to make that clear to these days.

Speaker 11 (34:23):
But I don't feel that way anymore. I feel like
it was a dismissive way to be and kind of
whenever I don't want to deal with something or or
handle it, I just compartmentalize it into something that I
can't I can't process right, And it is we don't
have a lot of patience because of our way, our

(34:46):
society is. We don't have a lot of patients for
the way the sport has played if nothing really.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Exciting is happening, and I that's fine. I understand that.

Speaker 11 (34:55):
I also understand the fact that every time something exciting
does happen, somebody gets for offside, which is also kind
of upsetting. But I enjoy I guess LeVar, I would
say I've come to enjoy the spectacle of the world,
the different cultures coming together.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
That it's just like.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
College football, like the Olympics.

Speaker 11 (35:16):
Yeah, it's like college football to me, where the personality
of the coaches, the coaches, the team, the region, the
place takes over on the field as well, and it's
something to enjoy like that. But now that it's all over,
we don't have to worry about it or argue about
what you should like or shouldn't like.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
Yeah, well, I wouldn't even argue over what I like
or what I don't like. I said, listen, this is
the beauty of a three man show. If I can.
If I come into a topic that I'm excited about,
I'm gonna take it. I mean, they brought out the
big guns some of those countries, and you see how
Jonas is perverted ass wants to turn it into the
big guns and the canons.

Speaker 11 (35:57):
That is part of it, right, Well, that would probably
be be supporters that they probably.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Be the most interesting thing to me.

Speaker 11 (36:05):
They get their support for their chest missiles and then
they go support their missiles. They get their war You know,
some of these countries aren't some of these countries aren't
allowed to have nuclear weapons, but they get the real
war heads out check out them two warheads and met life.
Although I didn't see any like chick from meat On

(36:26):
with huge boobs like you know, oh, I know, I
know there's big boob and Persian chicks in l A.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
I just didn't see them.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
At the game.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
What we found interesting Petros was for the US Games,
they always just show celebrities, but for like Columbia, Brazil,
like everyone else, may be showing absolute mountains.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
Just traveling around the state.

Speaker 11 (36:52):
You feel like sometimes you don't. Celebrity is one thing.
Celebrity boobies is a.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Whole lot like we get like I give a rip
that Eddie Vedder's at the US game when I watched
Columbia and they've got a thirteen out of ten everywhere
you turn.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Hey, look at me, Eddie Vedder. I'm gonna put this
beer on my head.

Speaker 11 (37:11):
Yeah, shut up, hang yeah, I I there. There is
part of the soccer thing that's been a little bit
and suffering.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
It just kind of is to me and I just
let Q and Joan Joanes has a soccer little uh
crew Italian, Yeah, Italian the last three World Cups. There
you go, the way they get represents got his deal
on in the studio. But I was going to ask
you about Kelsey and uh and Taylor Swift. They the wedding,
they tadd the not they did it. They they made

(37:41):
it to where they're going. What's your uh? Well, got
an opinion on it?

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Well he should apologize first, is what he should do
for what? Because you doubted their love? He didn't think
it was real, you know.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
So that was Eric Dickerson.

Speaker 11 (37:55):
Eric Dickerson used to come on our show once a week,
and you know, we it's kind of hard to have
the same foot ball conversation over and over with a
running back. And finally we just started talking. I mean
it is I'm an idiot. We started talking to him
about the wedding and he'd be.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Like, listen, there is no way that man plays football.
He don't want to be uc She ain't got no ask.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
You know, like Eric, not from what it came from.

Speaker 11 (38:22):
He was very opinionated about this. And and I love
Eric Dickerson by the way, He's one of my favorite
backs of all time and one of my favorite people
to be around. But he had no faith in this nuptials.
Now they wouldn't. They invited like every chief there is
and their family, but not the Kicker because he said

(38:42):
it was okay just to be married with kids as
a woman, and Taylor Swift didn't like hearing that, even
though I'm pretty sure that's what her mom did. Uh.
She didn't like that, so she didn't invite the Chiefs kicker,
which is a real that's bs And.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
I don't believe that was he ever on a team
with Wiley.

Speaker 11 (39:05):
If he was maybe you should have no I'm just saying,
when you go after Disney, you better have your all
your p's and Q. You better be Troy Polamalu. You
better be reading the Bible and going to bed at
nine at eight o'clock. If you go after Disney, Mickey
Mouse is gonna come back and sniff out it. Hey, whoa, whoa,
He's gonna find out what you did. But anyway, he

(39:30):
signed a forty page pre nup with a huge infidelity
clause in there because you saw his axe.

Speaker 5 (39:37):
Yeah, yeah, we doesn't look like the other one look like.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
That's why, Eric, I know, what do you mean?

Speaker 11 (39:46):
She's she's more bulbousy, and she is a darker hue
than Taylor Swift and and.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
That meaning what.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
She's a darkest, darker skinned woman.

Speaker 6 (39:58):
She's got a like like you mean like Sicilian because
Sicilians they used that terminology.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
You know, there's a flavor Italians.

Speaker 11 (40:07):
They used that that there's northern Italians and there's a
southern part.

Speaker 7 (40:11):
You know.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
That was just.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
A petro You saying he went from Ghana to Norway.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
That's extreme. I mean that's extreme.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
What do you mean?

Speaker 11 (40:19):
I think gone is pretty extreme. That was extreme I would.
I would say turks and kicko. Okay, there you go better.
That's better.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
God, that's an extreme.

Speaker 11 (40:30):
One of my favorite afrobeat artists is a Ghanaian and
I have a Ghanaian flag that I saw in one
of the videos and I was like, I'm gonna get that.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Flag and I did. You did?

Speaker 7 (40:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (40:44):
Now it's in my closet. But every once in a
while would be fun. If I had a flagpole, I
could run the Ghanaian flag up there, confuse the hell
out everybody. It's red, golden green, which I enjoyed.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
Do you think it is of Africa?

Speaker 6 (40:55):
You think it will impact Kelsey's uh focus on football?

Speaker 11 (40:59):
You think he'd like I think his focus on football
being gone. I mean, you look, he's a tight end
in his fiftieth year. All those guys do is not
want to go to camp and run an outlet route,
and that's what he's gonna do.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Am I wrong? I mean, don't remember Tony Gonzalez.

Speaker 11 (41:15):
You know, I don't want to go to camp for
I don't want to watch him install stretch zone again.
But I would like to come back and get another
fifty catches. That's probably what his mindset is forty page
pre nup Taylor's. They both did twenty minutes spoken vows.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Bitch made dangez.

Speaker 11 (41:35):
She sang part of her vows and he cried like
a bitch. I mean I they closed down the whole city.
They told everybody they couldn't use their air conditioner, but
they had Madison Square Garden pumped up to thirty two
degrees Celsia's. They had a giant buffet, not enough seats.

(41:55):
People had to stand up and eat like they were
like moose. That's all I really know about.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Oh Rich.

Speaker 11 (42:02):
Two of the most insufferable people in the history of
the sports media, Rich Eisen and his awful wife Susie
Schnooster were there Pang and they looked in the picture
like like they were, you know, like a night like
a thirteenth century painting.

Speaker 4 (42:17):
All serious in the pain.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
But what a wonderful event? Who has a wedding in
Madison Square Garden? Who does that?

Speaker 1 (42:27):
I mean that, That honestly was the first thing they
came to mind, was why yes?

Speaker 5 (42:32):
Because how big the venue is?

Speaker 11 (42:34):
Like the word, the word narcissism is used a lot,
you know these days. Anybody that says anything they don't like.
Anybody goes to a psychiatrist and they say, you know,
I know why I don't like my mother.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
She's a narcissist.

Speaker 11 (42:45):
Yeah, they that word is overused, but I think narcissism
is a pretty good definition of what went down between
between those two. Very I mean, she's almost forty and
you saw how she was acting at the nick game.
It's like, this person must be insufferable and she has

(43:07):
no ass dang, and her music's like look, okay, one
last point about Taylor Swift. The most popular person when
we were growing up as far as music goes at
pop music was, of course the king of.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Pop, Michael Jackson.

Speaker 11 (43:24):
Michael Jackson, for whatever you think about him and the
controversy and all that, let's put that away for just
a second. Talk about he was the guy where the
cameras were all over him, his hair caught on fire,
there was always something going on with his monkey, the
elephant man's bones. You know, all the different ridiculous stories
that followed Michael Jackson when we were kids, Tabloids people,

(43:46):
John Merrick.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 11 (43:48):
I remember, unless you've seen your brother have to play
him in a play for three hours, The most depressing
thing in the world. I remember the freaking Elephant Man anyway,
sad movie, sad story, yes, but also part of a
larger view of how society celebrates the grotesque and odd.
But overall, I have to say Michael Jackson was our

(44:12):
Taylor Swift. And the level of talent that Michael Jackson
possessed in one of his weird straightened Jerry Curle hairstrands
is a billion times more than Taylor Swift could ever
like dream of Taylor Swift has zero talent compared to
somebody like Michael Jackson, compared to another pop singer.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
We grew up with Whitney Houston, you know, with Bobby be.

Speaker 11 (44:41):
Unbelievable talent, unbelievable voice, and I feel like, Okay, Taylor
Swift is a big deal. She's had all this success,
but the gap between how good she is and how good.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
What we are pop singers were prince.

Speaker 7 (44:58):
You know. Do you know.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Taylor Swift? Ye, she might not be.

Speaker 11 (45:05):
I don't think she's better than Beyonce, but I don't
think Beyonce is that good either, you know, I don't
you know.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I'm sorry, I have.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
Very little Shaka Khan or Beyonce, Shaka Khan.

Speaker 11 (45:14):
Any any any artist from from a while back is
going to be better than Taylor Swift. Right, So that's
my I have a problem with. I don't think she
should be celebrated.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
She sucks.

Speaker 6 (45:27):
And in Vogue or Destiny's Child and Vogue.

Speaker 11 (45:31):
Yes, come on, what are you talking about? I mean
for your mind and the rets will follow.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Man, I can't change your mind. You can't change my color.

Speaker 11 (45:48):
Yeah, never, okay, never again?

Speaker 4 (45:52):
Okay, Destiny Child?

Speaker 6 (45:54):
All right, all right, let's go in Vogue and Vogue
or Jebby Man.

Speaker 4 (46:01):
You're taking s WV.

Speaker 11 (46:03):
I have to They're the blackest one.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
They weren't they?

Speaker 11 (46:10):
Of course they were s w V. Or Escape Atlanta.
I'm going s w V. But Escape had Candy from
a Real Housewives Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
She wrote a lot of hits.

Speaker 11 (46:23):
She did a talented, talented, talented, bad choice and husband dang, she.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
Let him go. Todd, Yeah, Todd had to go.

Speaker 11 (46:32):
I did watch some Real Housewives of Atlanta. Ei, there
you go, sad?

Speaker 2 (46:36):
What happened to Kroyd Kroud Bierman?

Speaker 4 (46:38):
Yeah, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Or Falcon bad bad, bad scene, married the wrong lady?

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (46:43):
Well, I mean but you knew she was wrong going
into it.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
Some people just make up at choice, not.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
Some bad choice. Mon it's not a good stay.

Speaker 3 (46:52):
It does seem like that show has been in the news.

Speaker 6 (46:55):
Recently with some what Atlanta, the one hair Beverly Hills,
the one that my hair?

Speaker 2 (47:02):
What happened?

Speaker 7 (47:03):
You know?

Speaker 6 (47:04):
I mean some some people would say, you get a
taste of the glory. You get a taste and then
you you lose it?

Speaker 4 (47:10):
What happened? You don't have it?

Speaker 7 (47:11):
Well?

Speaker 6 (47:11):
I mean, you know, I something I go you go
ahead take it? You know Marcellus Wiley and.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Oh is he on The Real Housewives? Was Oh she was?
Oh that big?

Speaker 11 (47:25):
She has a weird looking long faced it she got
a real long face like a cariboo.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 12 (47:35):
Like a cariboo is wild?

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Am I wrong? U?

Speaker 3 (47:42):
You know that's a decent comp.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
Like a real long faceted lady.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
We've lost We've lost the bar?

Speaker 2 (47:50):
Why where did he go? Are you?

Speaker 7 (47:52):
Are? You?

Speaker 4 (47:52):
Like?

Speaker 3 (47:52):
What is it like mac tonight? You think she's got
like a mac Tonight.

Speaker 11 (47:56):
No, it's doesn't curve out in the bottom like a
like an elf.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
It goes down.

Speaker 7 (48:03):
No.

Speaker 11 (48:03):
I just saw a picture of her that's funny because
I stopped watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills a
while back, just because my wife stopped watching it. So
uh I I I saw a picture of Marcellus's ex
wife or whatever, just this, you know, like on TMZ
just the other day or this morning, and I noticed
she had a tennis ball head haircut and a real

(48:28):
a long face like Sherlock Holmes, like a long shirlock home.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
So can I ask you? Because I actually did want
to get you.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
She looked at athletic.

Speaker 11 (48:39):
You look like one of those chicks that you find,
you know, when you play college football and like, you know,
like one of the volleyball chicks or something.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
Can I ask you this?

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Am I wrong? Am I what?

Speaker 4 (48:49):
No, It's fair. I've listening. It might be the funniest
dude the care boo. I know some pretty.

Speaker 6 (48:55):
Funny dudes, and and you're and you're laying a funny
you are one of the funniest dude.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
You're very Oh my god.

Speaker 11 (49:02):
I really don't know the story, though I know Marcellus
has been alleged to do some.

Speaker 6 (49:06):
Things pointed in our face, but I mean she's since
come out and say what.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
In her face. That's a long ass face.

Speaker 6 (49:17):
Is that like, that's kind of guess it would have
had to have taken a long ass finger for her
to know that.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
General direction in her face.

Speaker 5 (49:22):
Just pointing anywhere in the general point.

Speaker 4 (49:27):
I also is that the front door is a window.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
You found a photo that I sent you that I
believe backs up your claim of the facial structure and
also the uh, the animal you compared her to.

Speaker 5 (49:38):
It's so what she's wearing.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
To find my phone, I'm not wearing clothes.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
Oh God, must be nice.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
You know.

Speaker 11 (49:46):
I would have put on clothes, but I got up
and my daughter was like laid out on. My daughter
will sleep like it's like a like a cat or
something that you don't know, like where the cat is asleep.

Speaker 4 (49:56):
And it could be anywhere and you step and you
might step on it.

Speaker 7 (49:59):
Right.

Speaker 11 (50:00):
You know today she was on the ottoman with like
an iPad over her face in the morning. So that
was kind of a scrambled drill before before the show started.
But I will find my phone and check that caribou.

Speaker 5 (50:16):
You know what I'm saying, Like me, trust me.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
As soon as like the antlers.

Speaker 5 (50:22):
As soon as you see this picture, you'll be like, yep, all.

Speaker 11 (50:24):
Right, yeah, well I'm sorry that it didn't work out,
but they're they're no longer together, Marcella she.

Speaker 4 (50:29):
Foul for divorce apparently. Yeah.

Speaker 11 (50:32):
Have you ever seen the movie Rushmore? No, it's one
of my favorite movies ever. Bill Murray was nominated for
Best Supporting Actor for it, and he should have won.
But in Rushmore, his wife's leaving him, and uh, he's
a very rich guy and he's checking into this this
bougie hotel and the guy goes, how long will you
be staying with us, mister bloom? He goes, indefinitely, I'm

(50:52):
being sued for divorce, and she goes. The guy goes,
very good.

Speaker 4 (50:56):
Sir, all right, but but.

Speaker 5 (51:02):
Hold on Petros.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Of all the Bill Murray rules was Kingpin not his greatest,
maybe big eran McCracken.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
And it was it true that the he just lived
the entire how many years?

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Is a bitch?

Speaker 11 (51:16):
About a year for every topic on the Potato bo
when he pulls his arm off and it's like, oh,
you know, I mean his performance during the bowling with
the music and.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
When the waitress walks up to it goes another Tangraine tab.

Speaker 4 (51:34):
You keep him coming sweets. I got a long drive
ahead of me.

Speaker 1 (51:40):
I but I think the throwaway that he makes about
the allegations.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
I pulled that way early.

Speaker 4 (51:49):
On that one.

Speaker 5 (51:49):
It was a stone cold liar.

Speaker 11 (51:51):
Sometimes big Ern is already there in the morning. I
will have to say, I think that the bigger and
is great, but the more nuanced character. My favorite character
he plays is mister bloom and Rushmore, and then secondarily
would be Steve Ze Sue in the Life Aquatic with

(52:12):
Steve Ze what about groundhog Day? Groundhog Day is great,
but it's never been one of my favorites. Oh huh,
Steve Ze Sue when he.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
Says capable boring movie?

Speaker 11 (52:21):
Which one groundhog Day? Yeah, yeah, it's sort of the
same thing over and over right, Yeah it is. And
this is the sort of what do you think Marcella's
Wiley felt everyone when he turned his head around. I'm
laying next to the Empire State buildings attached to a
woman's body.

Speaker 4 (52:38):
Hey take the canoe.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
And I thought Giselle a monument face. I thought, Giselle's
getting bad from you. I think this is probably the
most intense you've been.

Speaker 11 (52:50):
Giselle could cut a ham with her face. You don't
think that UFC guys getting some Nicks cuts.

Speaker 4 (53:02):
It's like Date Edward Scissorhands.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
Tom Brady had a cutman walking around.

Speaker 11 (53:09):
They got one of the best cutmen in the industry.
I'm a bit of a bleeder, but I got a
great cut man. Uh yeah, overall, I would say, what
were we talking about?

Speaker 4 (53:18):
It didn't matter matter.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
Yeah, Detour was way more entertaining, but hey, we avoided
talking about lebron So there is that.

Speaker 11 (53:28):
You know what they're gonna do, man, what is he
going to do? It's gonna happen to Brownie.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
I don't know here they have it.

Speaker 11 (53:35):
They have like a seat at the table in Cleveland
for Brownie, like they like, you leave a seat for Jesus.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
White guys on the Lakers, though a lot of people
are Sus James. It's like, you know what that that
guy is a little too white. We can't bring in
one more.

Speaker 11 (53:56):
He's the best center. But guys, he's the best center
that's available. Sky Walker Kessler, you know that's a great
deal that you could get a center like this.

Speaker 2 (54:03):
Nobody's we already got the two white guys. Steven he
has already said something about it.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Dang Petros always appreciate it. You can get him on
AX at the Old p.

Speaker 11 (54:16):
How come Switzerland has black guys but Argentina does.

Speaker 4 (54:19):
No kidding, Petro's some money show.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
Those banks pay for a lot, don't they.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
I thought it was just clockmakers and chocolate.

Speaker 3 (54:33):
So there he is, the great Petros Papadacus with us
here on FSR.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
Thanks p all right, sign most Belgium soccer players. Those
those white guys are whooping our butt.

Speaker 4 (54:45):
Yeah they were.

Speaker 3 (54:46):

might have to we might have to stretch out what

(55:42):
are you watching into a couple of installments during the week.

Speaker 4 (55:46):
I had a night last night.

Speaker 6 (55:48):
Man was so Donna Summers and biopy. It wasn't a biopic.
It was like a docu documentary, like a documovie of
Donna Summers. I just I didn't realize how many songs,
like old school songs that we know and you know,

(56:08):
like how you close out a party. She's like the
last drink song, Ladies. She's like the disco era lady
where like the music that was playing where you were
like super you knew it was booger sugar music right
like it was.

Speaker 4 (56:26):
It was that disco vibe, like all hot stuff, Like
that's a good one, but that ain't it. That's not it.
That's not the one. No idea. She's got like hits,
like a.

Speaker 6 (56:39):
Ton of them, like a ton, like I knew who
Donna Summers was. But before last night, if I had
walked what she's gone now, But if I had walked
past her on the street.

Speaker 4 (56:49):
I wouldn't know, like, oh that's Donna Summers.

Speaker 6 (56:51):
I wouldn't know. I wouldn't now. But she's not here anymore. So,
But I'm just saying she was pretty talented. And then
I watched Millie Vanilli too.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
I love Milliman. Is this it right here?

Speaker 12 (57:02):
This is her song last Dance. Yeah, that's got on
the radio.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
Two.

Speaker 12 (57:06):
That's a good one.

Speaker 6 (57:07):
They used to close out party nights with this song
right here, like that last Dad's get that last Dad's
like right here, this one right here? But the one,
the one, there's one that you would really know.

Speaker 4 (57:21):
I've never heard of the song of my life.

Speaker 6 (57:23):
No, no, really, she wasn't just it wasn't just black people, bro,
it was not si. I mean, her largest audience was
was white folks in the clubs.

Speaker 4 (57:36):
Yeah, I had no idea.

Speaker 6 (57:37):
This is like later on she switched up. You gotta
go to like an early I'm gonna find a song.
Hold on, it's like it's been in like Scarface movies
like her. Her songs are like some of the most
sample song songs for movies.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
I mean, I think this.

Speaker 3 (57:52):
Was recorded in uh in Dublin, Ohio. I'm not mistaken
at Shamrock Studios. Yeah, I think so, I'm familiar with that.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
Do you know who Donna Summers is, Brad, I do, yes, Okay,
there you go. I mean you probably have her own vinyl.
You said you have vinyls, right.

Speaker 5 (58:13):
I don't think I have a vinyl.

Speaker 4 (58:15):
From Donna Summers. Yeah, she was queen a disco.

Speaker 7 (58:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:20):
I don't have disco vinyls. Okay, So I don't listen
to bad music.

Speaker 4 (58:26):
Oh wow, yeah, damn, yeah.

Speaker 5 (58:30):
Sorry about it. Just not a big not a big
disco guy.

Speaker 4 (58:33):
I mean though, I'm into Milli Vanill, I'm into him.

Speaker 5 (58:37):
I'm into their story. I don't know about everything else.

Speaker 3 (58:40):
Look, you know, fake it till you make it, man,
and and it worked, and those songs are bangers. So
oh yeah, girl, you know it's that might I might
have to make that my intro song.

Speaker 4 (58:51):
Girl, you know it's true blame.

Speaker 3 (58:54):
Yeah, that's rude. It is two pros and a couple
of Here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn
Jones knocks with You and Right Now it is time
for the tire rack play of the day.

Speaker 4 (59:07):
Strong.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
It's the high fly ball deep right center field, council back.

Speaker 11 (59:10):
At the track near the wall, gone, second home run
of the night for peak Crow Armstrong and the Cubs take.

Speaker 4 (59:18):
The lead four to three over the Orioles.

Speaker 5 (59:21):
Here on the fifth.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
Cubs Radio Network, on the call.

Speaker 4 (59:25):
That is your tire rack play of the day.

Speaker 3 (59:27):
For over forty years, Tirerak's been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive, shift
fast and freeback by free road hazard protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack dot Com.
The way tire buying should be a couple of home
runs for Pete Rol Armstrong, including a three home run
inning for the Cubs last night against the Who the

(59:49):
hell they played the Orioles. So congratulations to everybody involved.

Speaker 4 (59:53):
I know you guys were into them.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Yeah, no, no, I mean it's a big win for them.
I mean the Orioles are what last in the a least,
So yeah, that's it's huge. I'm I'm glad that was
the play of the day. It wasn't like, you know,
the Cubs still are six games back from the Brewers
in the Central. So no, no big deal. We're still
highlights of random baseball games now, because that's what Jonas.
I wish people knew how much Jonas behind the scenes

(01:00:18):
orchestrated some of the crap that levarn I have to
go through.

Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
I don't like what is with the reckless allegations here
on this show.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
That's not reckless. We could have picked from a lot
of sound for our play of the day, and for
some reason, we picked the Cubs all the time. Don't
get me wrong, I personally love the Cubs. It's just
Jonas tries to orchestrate the stuff all the time.

Speaker 4 (01:00:37):
Look, I don't think we need to call names here,
you know.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
And you know I even brought in the South Bend
Notre Dame Cubs had here plan on wearn't at some point,
you know, brought right now.

Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
Yeah, they just keep.

Speaker 5 (01:00:51):
That stuff out of the show.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Well, look, we'll talk about the Cubs once they get
back on South of the Central.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Well look, I mean, if we're going to be fair
about this for the people listening statewide in Wisconsin, you
did lose two or three to the Cubs last time
they were in Milwaukee, So I'm just pointing that out here,
and with all the injuries to the pitching staff and everything,
I think it says something about the determination and will
power of the team to be able to fight through
all that and still be sitting there high atop the
wild card standings in the National League.

Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
But again, not that I can for the record.

Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
For the record, LeVar Pittsburgh's I don't know what five
games back.

Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
I think five games back from them from Chicago. So
just keep keep them, keep them in check. I know
that's your squad.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Yeah, all right, So with that being said, something that
LeVar definitely cares about the World Cup.

Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
Let me go find that. Okay, it's a whole lot.

Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
Yesterday it was probably the highlight of the World Cup
for LeVar because there were no games. So there was
no World Cup games yesterday, and so we have to
wait until the quarterfinals start, and I'm just thrown out
an all right, you guys tell me if you're into
this or not. I believe every single one of my
teams is out. Well no, see, I thought I had Belgium.

(01:02:08):
It turns out I had Iraq. Somehow I confuse the two.
I don't know how that happened, but I think everybody's
team is out except for Brady. Brady might have two teams, right, Patty,
who's Brady got?

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
He has England in Argentina. I'm so sick of this
talk about orchestrating stuff behind the scenes, like you.

Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
By the way, Lorena suspect of this and it's like,
I'm sorry, Lorena, we spun the wheel and you set
this up.

Speaker 5 (01:02:34):
That's what I was given, Like, what do you want
me to do about this?

Speaker 12 (01:02:36):
I just think those are really good odds. To get
two out of all those teams.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Makes you wonder it does but.

Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Whoa I mean, first off, if you have to be
pick teams, if I could have picked teams, I.

Speaker 5 (01:02:52):
Don't think I would have picked England.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
As we've discussed at length, there's usually a choke job
somewhere involved.

Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Right with England.

Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
So if you do anything about soccer, Loreta, you know
that that's not how you'd scheme it to get England.

Speaker 5 (01:03:04):
You know you'd.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
Much rather get another team that you know, maybe tends
to show up a little bit better than those big moments.

Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
Yeah, they do have a history of that. They're like
the US and Mexico, except they do it a couple
of rounds later, you know, that's that's usually where it goes.
And if you ask any speaking of in Mexico, Yeah,
if you ask any fans, they'll they'll tell you that
from England, they'll ask, hey, they're going to bring it home. Finally, No,
probably not, that's how that works. So let me ask
the question, do we want nope to hold on? Well,

(01:03:36):
just tear me out. Do we want to take another
shot at this with the quarterfinals being here?

Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
All right?

Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
And you might as well. I mean, Lorena will think
it suspect, but might as well.

Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
Because I'm comfortable with whoever I end up with. I
feel like I'm going to end up with a team
that has a shot at winning the World Cup this
time around. Last time I wasn't so sure, and I'm
almost positive I'm not going to land Iraq this time.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
So if we want to spin it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
For the record, I got Algeria. Okay, So let's just
all pump the brakes.

Speaker 4 (01:04:06):
What was the tweet?

Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
What was somebody said something about Algeria like Algeria fans,
there was God you sent me.

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
So there's been so many.

Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
Wild tweets that have been said about the World Cup.
So yeah, there's there's a lot of the time it's
probably not appropriate for us show.

Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
But let's just let's just put it this way. They
did not.

Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
Lose completely, did Algeria? They won in certain categories?

Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
All right? So that said, Patty, do we have a
wheel ready to go?

Speaker 7 (01:04:37):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:04:37):
We have a wheel ready right now.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
You guys have perfected this whole wheel concoction here.

Speaker 8 (01:04:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:04:44):
Teamwork makes a dream work. All right, that's fun.

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
So so you know what, LeVar, do you want to
do the honors? Is spin the wheel first to see
if you pull on one of these quarterfinal teams? All right,
go ahead and see what we got here.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Argentina, you get year?

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
How does it work?

Speaker 5 (01:05:06):
If if I've already got that team, how does it work?
How does he get that?

Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Doding it? Don't getting it?

Speaker 5 (01:05:14):
I've still got two teams in it.

Speaker 4 (01:05:17):
Yeah, where we're doing it?

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
Okay, So what do you want to do? You want
to take Argentina and then you can't redo it? Then
like we're redoing.

Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
It for what are you talking about? Argentine?

Speaker 6 (01:05:28):
We'll pick from six. Then I'm taking your I'm taking
your team. You can do your team is my team?
Now what is the white Elephant party.

Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
Your team is my team.

Speaker 5 (01:05:37):
Now you get to pick from what's left.

Speaker 6 (01:05:40):
At what point in time did Q become the judge
and jewelry of this show. I'm telling Argentina, did you
just roll the did you just spin the wheels and
choose a team?

Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
Yes, a land in Argentina.

Speaker 12 (01:05:55):
Now teams on the wheel is right, I think, bradies, Now, why.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Does he even need to spend I don't need to exactly, that's.

Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
The logical point, which is the only.

Speaker 6 (01:06:09):
So then due to levard, I'm not spinning.

Speaker 13 (01:06:14):
I think you just for someone who has said a
word during the World Cup, it's a bit rich that
you're now chiming in to the spin game.

Speaker 5 (01:06:25):
Watched one second or said anything about watch.

Speaker 4 (01:06:28):
More than one second? World Cup. He's outraged by what's happened.

Speaker 12 (01:06:31):
I am all right, this one's for you, of are.

Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
No, it's not I'm not doing it. I will not.

Speaker 12 (01:06:36):
You're getting it.

Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
I will not.

Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
I'm not in it. I'm not in it.

Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
Norway I wanted Norway so bad. Son of a bitch.

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
I love Holland.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
I'm out. He's sent a lot of people home this
World Cup.

Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
I'm out.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
Oh wow, that is so messed upright.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
So can I? Can I give it a spin here?

Speaker 6 (01:07:02):
Yes, smitt it, Jones, give it to me, Give me Spain,
Give me Spain.

Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
Belgium, damn it? Come on man?

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
All right? Back to Bar Nope, yep, here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
Nope, come on Bar, No, get it on it? No France?

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
All right?

Speaker 5 (01:07:26):
All the favorite, all the team that's probably going to win.

Speaker 4 (01:07:30):
Nope. Can I have one more?

Speaker 7 (01:07:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
You get one more.

Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
By the way, Belgium Argentina was my team. I didn't
get it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
I don't want to be in hey if I pull Switzerland.
Those are the two longest shots to win of the
of the.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
Remaining here it oh so close.

Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
All right, I'll take Spain.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
We're back in this man.

Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
No, we had to.

Speaker 6 (01:07:58):
We had to rise up, talking the U against the manipulation.
Stop on the Oh there it is?

Speaker 4 (01:08:07):
Is this ritten by this the World Cup music?

Speaker 12 (01:08:09):
It's the one from twenty ten?

Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
Was it in Africa?

Speaker 12 (01:08:13):
Phenomena?

Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
Yeah? Isn't this an African song?

Speaker 8 (01:08:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (01:08:18):
This time for Africa.

Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
They were in Africa? Is that why this was the song?
South Africa? Was it in South Africa?

Speaker 7 (01:08:29):
Say? Man?

Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
Because you looked at me the same way like?

Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
Is it African? Or is this a South African How
are you determined?

Speaker 7 (01:08:36):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (01:08:36):
Well, I mean they got a lot of different teams
in the tournament.

Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:08:41):
You tell me, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:08:44):
There's not many.

Speaker 6 (01:08:45):
Still, I just don't understand why there's just not one
African team. We got one United States team, right like
South American team? Yeah, North America, one North American team.

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Although based on their history, I don't know if anybody
wants to wants Canada to join in on the phone?

Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Who's North America? Canada? United States?

Speaker 7 (01:09:09):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:09:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:09:10):
That is?

Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:09:12):
M then South America is just what Argentina.

Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
Colomb you know, like, throw a dart from me there?
That works.

Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
What do you guys want to do for the last
two teams?

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
We still have two more? Do you want to Patty? Hey, Patty,
you didn't hear three grown, grown men talking on the.

Speaker 6 (01:09:34):
Radio, like, well you're just going grown men having a
conversation right hand.

Speaker 5 (01:09:41):
Damn, that's that's a fine. Still, No, we're not.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Not only does the music stop, but you were so
intent on us having the other two teams, buddy, we
constantly leave out people who end up winning.

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Yes, so we know it's over clearly by the way
I was looking at the fines and the documentation of
the fines that have been assessed on this show.

Speaker 6 (01:10:07):
I've got a whole paragraph that is just wild. I mean,
you had that wilder paragraph. I was reading it the
other night and I started laughing. My son's like, what
are you laughing at? I was like, I can't tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Had like our court reporter has got a foul mouth.

Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
I'll just put it.

Speaker 6 (01:10:25):
But it's what you're doing. It's not that you're found.
He's typing it in right now too. He's put something
notes in there, he.

Speaker 5 (01:10:34):
Said, rudely, interjecting into a segment.

Speaker 6 (01:10:36):
I mean, good talk about crow barring. What was Patty
just doing? I don't know what it cost him. Hey
we have two more tames. Hey man, we got two
more teams.

Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
I captain.

Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
It is. Here's two pros and a cup of Joe

understand how he gets his song played with me a
man here, I mean, play one of ours.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
I'm with you, tike.

Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
And by the way, if he thinks I'm paying a
dime of that fine with some of the stuff that's
gone on recently, he can kiss my ass.

Speaker 6 (01:11:54):
How about he gets a show fine, He gets a
show fine. His fine in show, His fine is out
of show.

Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (01:12:03):
Yeah, every time he misses, he gets a fine.

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
That's a fine.

Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
Uh we finded yo ass?

Speaker 4 (01:12:11):

Speaker 14 (01:13:10):
Good morning, but I'm sorry that I uh, sorry for
the miscommunication yesterday. I didn't want to throw anybody off,
but I was we were away.

Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
We're back now, No listen, yeah, I mean we heard
you was packing up the mansion. The vacation mansion. Is
it all good?

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Man?

Speaker 14 (01:13:26):
That's right. Did you guys hear who I ran into
on the aisle?

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
We we did tell us the story.

Speaker 14 (01:13:33):
Yeah, so I ran into So I had run into
a j Hawk at at who, as you guys know,
is Brady's brother in lawon right, So I ran into
him at like the fourth of July water fight out
there on Main Street, Dantucky. And then later that night

(01:13:54):
I ran a j again and this older man who
was very enthusiastic comes over to me and says, what's
that name again? And I said Albert and very enthusiastically
gave me because the a firm handshake and yeah, says damn,
glad to meet you, and was the nicest guy in

(01:14:17):
the world, and identified himself as Brady's father. So yeah, So, Chopper,
after all the crap that I took and I've taken
up from Brady over the last few years on vacation
in Nantucket, who do I run into on Nantucket? But

(01:14:39):
Brady wins?

Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Yeah, talk about that?

Speaker 14 (01:14:44):
After all? Then you know what I said this to Brady,
I'm like, my one regret, My one regret was that
I didn't have the presence of mind because Chopper came
in hot, right, So Chopper, he came in hot, and
like I didn't. I just didn't have like the wherewithal
the react fast. But if I had to do it
all over again, I would have gotten a picture with

(01:15:06):
Choppers pinkies up and sent it to Brady.

Speaker 4 (01:15:11):
That's uh, that's well played.

Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
And look, yeah he told us he's like, yeah, he's
all he ran into my family up in Nantuckets.

Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
We were wondering what the story was there so or
what the aftermath of it was. Oh yeah, I mean.

Speaker 14 (01:15:26):
Yeah, but great people like Brady's dad was super nice,
like like seems like a seems like an awesome guy.

Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
Yeah he's gone.

Speaker 14 (01:15:34):
But yeah, but yeah, but yeah, the pinkies in the
air saying that was a missed opportunity to me for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
Now I have to ask you this because we were
we opened up the show talking about this, and I
know this has been a storyline that's gone on the
entire offseason when it comes to the Vikings quarterback situation and.

Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
What they're going to do.

Speaker 3 (01:15:50):
And Kevin O'Connell was talking with Dan Patrick and he
pointed out that, you know, when we had one guy
in the job and one guy in the role for
an entire season. We on thirteen and fourteen games. And
my thought on it, and maybe you would know a
little bit of the backstory better than me, Ab, but
I look at it and I go, it seemed to
me like he wanted to keep Kirk Cousins if possible,

(01:16:15):
and they moved on from him. It seemed to me
like he really enjoyed coaching Sam Darnold and was a
fan of that, and they moved on from him. And
then it seems to me like, and you told us
this that Drake may was really the guy that he
was that he really liked coming out of that draft class.

Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
And I just wonder.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
Have the Vikings gone against the wishes of Kevin O'Connell
that many times? And is maybe that sort of what
led to the decision to move on from Quaisia Dolfhamnza.

Speaker 14 (01:16:44):
Yeah, I mean, I think the quarterback thing's been complicated
for them because you know, you have Kirk who's coming
to coming closer to the end of his career and
the fact that he's had all these guaranteed contracts and
then he camp France because of the way this contract
structured right, like, and I honestly think if Kirk had

(01:17:06):
to do again, he probably would have gone back and
side with the Vikings. Do you know, there's probably some
regret on that end, but I don't think they were
running Kirk Cousins off. It was just like, we have
to have some financial restraint with the player that age.
And then you know, like, okay, like now we're we're
into the wilderness with everyone else that's looking for a quarterback,

(01:17:29):
and it's hard to be in that spot. And so
you know, they take the shot on Sam Donald on
a one year deal, and then they invest the first
round pick in JJ McCarthy. And interesting because if like
you don't invest that first round pick in JJ McCarthy,
you probably do go the extra mile to resign Sam Donald, right,

(01:17:51):
But because you spent that first round pick on JJ McCarthy,
Sam Donald is looking at it the following off season
and he's saying, well, even if I take their deal,
like the minute that something goes the wrong way, they're
gonna turn to JJ, because that's the guy they're truly

(01:18:12):
invested in, right, So, like that's complicated, and they tried
to bring Daniel Jones back, and Daniel Jones. It was
the same thing, you know, Like, so that's just the
impact of spending a top half of the first round
pick our quarterback had is that Like with Sam Darnold,
it was like, well, no, I'm not going to go
back there because if I have a great year in Minnesota,

(01:18:36):
they still might go to JJ. If I have a
great year in Seattle, They're going to stick with me
and I can be their long term starter. And it
was the same thing they pivoted. They tried to bring
back Daniel Jones, same thing. So you know, I just
think like the success and failure of JJ McCarthy, like
when you spend a take that high quarterback, it has

(01:18:56):
like this cascading effect on everything at the position that
you do from that point forward. And I think that's
sort of where they are now. And you know, we'll
see how it turns out whether or not. I mean,
JJ is gonna have another shot to go and win
the job. The difference is now is that, like, you know,
he's sort of as I've said to you guys in

(01:19:16):
the recent pass off scholarships for speak and so you know,
it's it's him versus Kyler and what the best man win.
But you know, I think all of this gets complicated
by the Kurt situation, to be, the contractual situation with
Stark in the first place, and then and then and
then spending a high first round pick on a quarterback,
which kind of takes away from me the flexibility of

(01:19:37):
a position.

Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
All right, let's apply this same conversation to Cleveland. Abe.

Speaker 6 (01:19:44):
It seems as though there's a real possibility that Deshaun
Watson will start this year.

Speaker 4 (01:19:51):
That's is to me. There's two things that it is
to me.

Speaker 6 (01:19:54):
One, yeah, is that obviously you gotta you gotta try
to get a return on your investments somewhere. There's no
way you could possibly do it, but if you could
get one year out of it, okay.

Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
But two, it ultimately says to me.

Speaker 6 (01:20:10):
If you're taking a starter, a starter with the reputation
and the lore that Shador Sanders has and he's actually
facing the potential of not starting, you cannot solely place
the money on the fact that Shador Sanders isn't coming
back as your starter. That has to be a red

(01:20:33):
flag and an indicator that you don't feel confident enough
to make him and name him your starter.

Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
But that's just my take.

Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
On it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:43):
What's your opinion on it?

Speaker 14 (01:20:45):
Yeah, I think I mean, if if your Door had
shown I give me the quarterback for this team for
the next ten years, I just think we would know
by now. That doesn't mean he might not still show it, right,
But I think, like I tend to think coaches know,

(01:21:08):
players know. I mean, there are enough people who were
on that staff last year that are gone that would know,
Like you would know if the Browns who looked at
you Door Sanders and said this can be the long
term answer at the position, and if that were the Kings,
I think they the Browns are investing their entire offseason

(01:21:32):
in finding out whether or not and finding out whether
or not he can be the guy, and giving him
all the reps and making him the starter. And so yeah,
I mean the fact that they didn't do that look
and I think we have to have the proper expectation
for it too. He was not a top ten bick,
he wasn't a top twenty pick. He was picking on
Day three of the draft, you know, So it looks

(01:21:54):
to me like he's somebody who has probably outplayed his
draft position, because generally a fifth round quarterback won't get
this sort of shot to start here too, but like
hasn't gotten to the point where you look at him
and say, like, yeah, that's our future, and so that's
how you deal him. And you've already invested the three

(01:22:15):
first round picks hundreds of millions of dollars into Sean Watson.
It's like I've said, you guys over the last few months,
you short of us to yourselves to at least see
and make sure that you did have it wrong with
the Shawn Watson. And you know, I think over the
course this year, part of the goal, at least internally

(01:22:35):
for the Browns has to be getting answers to both
of those questions. Is whether or not either of those
guys have any shot of being the quarterback in twenty
twenty seven. But like we haven't seen like an investment
of reps and either one of them that would indicate
that that's the case.

Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
Hey, b, what does that mean for Dylan Gabriel?

Speaker 6 (01:22:55):
I mean, so that means you're basically I would be
more willing to say, Okay, so you wasted a third
round draft pick on on a quarterback versus you waste
It's hard to say, okay, you wasted a fifth round
draft pick because that's you don't have to say that,
but it feels like you wasted a draft. Why draft
Dylan gabriel If this is where you're hating with with

(01:23:16):
everything because he's not even in the conversation.

Speaker 14 (01:23:20):
Well, I mean, you know what, I think one of
the interesting things is two of our Like, so there's
a different coaching staff this year. Look who Kevin's Sabanski
just signed and uh In in in Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
Right, Tua, Yeah, that same type of QB.

Speaker 7 (01:23:40):
Right.

Speaker 14 (01:23:40):
I don't think there's a a I think there's some
stylistic similarities. I don't think Dylan Gabriels is good as Tua.
Think there's some stylistic similarities there and the way they
play and so like, I think it kind of tells
you that maybe the parameters for the position have changed
a little bit, wol the coaching change, and look like

(01:24:02):
there's no question like if you're if you're spending a
third round pick on a guy and you have your
quarterback competition the next year and the guy who drafts
in the fifth round is in it and your third
round or is not, then there's no question that it
looks like a miss draft pick. That said I don't

(01:24:23):
think it means that Dylan Gabriel is a lost cause
as an NFL player. It's just he doesn't have the
overwhelming talent to fit every offense. That much is clear,
and stylistically, he doesn't fit Todd Munk in the way
that he did Kevin Stefanski. I think that much team's
pretty apparent too. And look, I think Dylan Gabriel had

(01:24:46):
a chance to be in the league for a long time.
But I think it's probably in a way that a
lot of people saw him before the twenty twenty five drafts,
which is as a backup, not a starter, or maybe
a Chase Daniel type of player.

Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
He's Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter, lead content strategist at
the MMQB. You can get him on x at Albert
Breer joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Maybe with
the popularity and the success from a ratings standpoint, just
the fandom, I mean, you know, you told us, you know,
we were talking to you about, you know, the Scottish
fans that came out and drank Boston dry and all that.

(01:25:26):
But like were seeing the success and the numbers that
have come out, and I think the final number for
US Belgium was fifty million, and you and the US
got blowtorch in that game. Do you think has the
NFL been paying attention to this and have they taken
anything from it for their own use? Because I know
Robert Kraft there was a report I think Mike Reeves

(01:25:48):
who said that Robert Craft, you know, kind of threw
the idea at Roger Goodell like, hey, what about a
Patriots game in Scotland based on how the fans showed
up and really showed out? What do you think the
World Cup has impacted the NFL on moving forward?

Speaker 14 (01:26:04):
I think it's probably Jonas like most applicable to how
you're marketing your game internationally, and like I think if
you're an NFL owner, if you work at the league office,
if you're a business side guy with one of these teams,
I think what you're studying is how FIFA was able

(01:26:24):
to turn these games into events. And I went to
one in Foxborough. It felt like a big event and
it was a round of thirty two games, you know,
it was first round of the knockout stage and it
felt massive like being there, you know. So I think
it continues to be how can you like event tide,

(01:26:45):
like all of your international games and make them feel
big and make them feel like you have to be there.
And I think, like that's the interesting thing. Box did
a good job with this, I thought, you know, and
I and and and and and certainly, like I think
when you watch it on TV, I mean, I don't know,

(01:27:05):
how do you do? You guys both watch mes going
by the other night?

Speaker 4 (01:27:08):
Fantastic?

Speaker 14 (01:27:11):
That felt like one of the most I mean, the
only thing I could compare it to is like a
massive college football game. And I'm serious not people will
be offended when they hear.

Speaker 15 (01:27:20):
Me say that, but like it's like my point of reference, Like.

Speaker 14 (01:27:25):
That just felt like such a big deal, you know.
And so look, I think like the big big for
the NFL people is is like have to we turn
our international games into events? You know, because I really
think that's what the audience reacts And now like that's
what the bigger international audience reacts to that how you

(01:27:48):
get the casual batman, you know? Interested?

Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
So I don't.

Speaker 14 (01:27:53):
I think it's sort of like a it's an abstract thing,
but you know, it's something that I think certainly thoughts
to one.

Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
Yeah, because I just what We were talking about this yesterday,
like is it even working? Is the Nifrail International even working?
I know it weren't listen, we're not there, so we
can't tell.

Speaker 4 (01:28:11):
But I look at it and I go, I just
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
It doesn't feel like there's the same hey man, there's
in the streets of London. They're packed with Jaguars fans
and they've been over there a lot. It just it
seems like and maybe this is recency bias as well too,
and maybe I'm guilty of it, but it just seems
like it hasn't had the effect that maybe it has
world Cup wise this year.

Speaker 14 (01:28:34):
Yeah, and that's probably stakes too, right, Like I I mean,
but like a playoff game, it's gonna have a different
atmosphere to it, you know, And like these games are
a big deal. I mean, I you know the game
that I went to, what the penalties and I I said, uh,

(01:28:57):
you know, my buddy is getting next to me. It's
like you just screwing. And one of the German players
did screw it up, you know what I mean, he
put it into the third row. You don't have a
chance to make up for that four years, you know,
there's no like, oh yeah, I'll get them next year.
It's like you don't have a chance to do a
tone for any mistake you make in that spot for

(01:29:17):
another four years.

Speaker 7 (01:29:19):
So like, I think.

Speaker 14 (01:29:20):
Stakes are obviously a big part of it too, you know,
and I don't like, I don't know that you can
recreate that those stakes and the tension that exists like
with the regular season game. And I think that's probably
part of why they've tried to put more important games
over there. Like I mean, like, look, I think it
kind of sucks that that that Niners Ram is being

(01:29:43):
played in Australia because that's such an important game, you
know what I mean, Like, like man, like that seems
like competitively for the NFL, it's like not a great
thing that you're putting that important game and that different
of an environment. But like I sort of I guess
is what they have to do, you know what I mean, Like,
if they want to create this intensity to the environment

(01:30:04):
everything else, they got games of stakes over there, and
if it's not going to be playoffs to beg mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (01:30:11):
Maybe my last question for you would would be looking
at the landscape of the NFL right now, we had
we had a conversation was quick because we were at
the end of the segment, but about flag football and
and just kind of the long term impact of you know,
the brain and stuff like that that continues to be

(01:30:33):
a hot button topic for tackle football.

Speaker 7 (01:30:36):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:30:36):
And I raised the point that you know, there's a
lot of diseases and a lot of ailments and and
things that you know, people have to deal with from
the work that they do that's not unique to football.
But we seem to villainize tackle football now. It's it's polarizing,

(01:30:57):
it's it's entertaining, and I get all of that. Do
you feel as though, because after having a conversation about
trying to take the NFL Nation International, do you feel
like flag football cast a larger net. I feel like
the idea of it is you grow the game by
getting more more activities through flag football, then you do

(01:31:18):
tackle football. Even though a lot of people like Q
doesn't think that you know, flag is is tackle, I
still think the variation of it can introduce people to it.
And when they're old enough and you feel comfortable and
confident letting them put a helmet and some shoulder pads
on and they're big enough to go out there and
play the game.

Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
Then that's when you let them do it.

Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
It's almost like an alternative to possibly potentially replace youth football.

Speaker 14 (01:31:46):
Well, I make a couple of points in that, like
I think, first and foremost, I think what the nzult
down is something that I thought was predictable from the start, right,
which is that it's like it's there's always so much
of sports and growing in another country without kids playing it.
So you can get to the curiosity stage, you can

(01:32:07):
get some people, maybe maybe you can get a niche following,
but it's hard to become mainstream as a sport in
another country if the kids in that country are not
playing and football. Tackle football is a much harder sport
to export than basketball or soccer, right, Basketball and soccer
are pretty easy to export, Like they're not like you know,

(01:32:31):
you you find some pavement, put a couple of hoops up,
roll outs some balls. Kids can play basketball. You find
the field, put a couple of goals in, roll out
of bag of balls, kids can play soccer. It's not
like that with tackle football. So I think, you know,
part of put them pushing flag, A huge part of
them pushing flag is that piece of it, right, Like
which is like, we need to get people playing some

(01:32:54):
form of football internationally and tackle and lag. It's just
much easier to export than if we get make flive
more popular on TV, more people will play it overseas,
which will funnel more people to the NFL. The second piece,
which and that applies to women domestically by the way, too,
like getting women involved in a younger age and playing

(01:33:14):
at the younger age. That's part of it too, the
other piece of it, and like the safety piece of it.
And I think this is where soccer comes into is
like and I see this in my own town, right,
I coach tackle football and we work with like we
try to work with the flag football people. Is like,
is flag football or replacement for tackle? Or is it

(01:33:36):
like you're saying, v are a introduction football that leads
to tackle And that's a conversation everybody has to have.
And I think that's sort of where the NFL needs
to pay attention to soccer. And like soccer becoming more
popular because if a parent doesn't feel comfortable with their
kids playing football, and soccer is becoming more and more mainstream.

(01:34:00):
I mean I remember when I was a kid, like
most of us played soccer when we were in first
and second and third grade and then switched over to
tackle football as more amazed as football becomes as as
soccer becomes more mainstream, like football does have like run
the risk of like some of those kids maybe not

(01:34:22):
switching over, you know. So I think football needs to
work hard to make sure the game's safer, make sure
it's being coached the right way, to make sure the
message you're getting out there, and to make sure that
they're and like, to be honest with me, the NFL
is done a really bad job of this. Being honest
about it. Stop lying to everybody. It's not it's a

(01:34:43):
dangerous sport, you know, Like, and there are things that
can be managed within it, like if we're honest with
people and we're coaching it the right way and we're.

Speaker 15 (01:34:52):
Not pretending that that certain things didn't happen, Like you
can have that. That's my experience.

Speaker 14 (01:34:58):
Like, and I know I'm big, long winded, you know,
I'm passionate about this one.

Speaker 15 (01:35:03):
I Like, I feel like there's a right way to
coach the game. There's a right way to teach the game.
And if you're honest with a parent about it and
you're not lying to them, then they'll be way more
receptive than if you're just running around like a meat
head and being like, oh, you know, like.

Speaker 14 (01:35:22):
What are you talking about? This is dangerous.

Speaker 15 (01:35:23):
It's not that.

Speaker 14 (01:35:24):
Stop being a pastic people, you know. So I can
have a very long conversation because about this one if
you can tell you know.

Speaker 4 (01:35:32):
I'm with you. Yeah. No, it's a big topic.

Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
Yeah, and it seems like it's becoming more and more discussed,
especially recently.
