Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the best of two pros and a couple.
Joe with Lamar arings and rating win and Jonas Knox
on Bors.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Radio, Welp, Well, it appears that maybe the thought this
big grand idea and plan and potential of one Dion
Sanders coming to the Dallas Cowboys, maybe it's starting to
(00:31):
become that much more of a reality. Yesterday on the
Dan Patrick Show, which you can hear on many of
these Fox Sports radio affiliates after we go off the
air here Monday through Friday, Cowboys insider ed Warder discussed
the latest on Coach Prime. Any potential of this actually happening.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Regarding Dion, we know that he has not yet formally
interviewed for the job. The Cowboys have extended invitations to
Leslie Frazier and Robert Salah to be the first two
to interview formerly for the job. But Dion told Adam
Schefter the other day that Jerry Jones reached out to
him and they discussed the job and everything I continue
(01:15):
to be told Dan is that Jerry is interested. It
was described to me as he's enamored with the idea. Obviously,
it's hard to imagine any coaching candidate who could create
more interest, someone that Jerry could more sell to the
fan base here, which needs to happen, and make Jerry
more money than Dion Sanders. I mean, he won a
(01:37):
Super Bowl here as a player. There are also people
around Dion who tell me that he's being urged by
his supporters in Colorado to take the job, and that
they believe if Jerry ever does offer him the job,
that he will take. That he has an extension to
remain at Colorado on his desk that he hasn't even
looked at as he considers these other possibilities. There are
(01:58):
also people close to Dy who tell me they don't
see it happening, but they've seen things happen with Jerry
Jones that they didn't expect to happen before.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
So that is the very latest on the potential of
Dion Sanders coming to Dallas to be the new head
coach of the Cowboys. Now, they did request an interview
to talk with former Cowboys assistant Kellen Moore, so that's
out there. Obviously, he's a little busy right now is
the Eagles offensive coordinator, so he's got that to worry about.
(02:28):
But at least there is some mutual interest and at
least some buzz that this thing, this whole thing could
possibly happen there with coach Prime.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
I mean, listen, Dion Sanders is as masterful a branders,
as masterful an entertainers, as masterful as it gets with
handling himself with the media, you name it. He's been.
(02:57):
He's been pretty bulletproof, even when believe you know, taking
the aim at him and have like really really aggressively
have tried to poke holes in Deon Sanders. Whether it
be the way he coaches, whether it be the access
that he grants, whether it be his relationship with his sons,
(03:18):
Deon Sanders has has always found a way to come
out on top. And when you look at the way
he's been able to build what he's done and what
he's built from, there should be no surprise that this
would be how how Jerry Jones views Deon Sanders. Deon
(03:42):
Sanders was an asset to him as a player, and
now with Deon Sanders being able to transition out of
football and into media and through media into coaching, he
would be an asset, a tremendous asset more than any
other those uh, you know, candidates that were mentioned uh
(04:04):
Leslie Fraser, fine coach, Robert Salah fine coach. They pale
in comparison to what Deon Sanders would represent to the
Dallas Cowboys. And not to mention the idea of could
Deon Sanders really rally the troops? Could Deon Sanders really
(04:28):
be a uniting factor of the players, the organization, and
the community that is connected to the Dallas Cowboys. One
hundred percent, one hundred percent. And I made this point
in in shows past. Dion Sanders is one of those guys,
(04:50):
probably one of one that you would say actually lives
in his own alternate universe of reality that he's created
for himself, that could handle the creative alternate universe and
reality that Jerry Jones has created for himself in Dallas.
That would probably be the only coach that exists. You're
(05:13):
looking for a Dan Campbell clone. You're talking about Jason Witten.
Please put that to bed, because if you're talking about
trying to win and at the same time have the
ability to be able to sell and and and and
put put hope back into people's hearts, it's Deon Sanders.
(05:34):
It's It's a no brainer. I don't even know why
like at Warner acts like that's a milliany and not
not a shot at add the way I'm saying it,
But I mean, you can't. That's not a military secret.
What Dion Sanders would represent to Jerry Jones, to Dallas,
to that community, to that team, there's no secret. So
(05:54):
what's the problem. Figure it out? If it's this, If
there's this much small to Deonce Anders possibly becoming the
head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, He's proven he can
do it at every level. The only one that still
is out there that he needs to do it at
is is at the pro level. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
And I also think at this point, if you're questioning
whether or not what he does quote unquote works, you
haven't been paying attention. And it doesn't mean well, what
national championship did he win? Well, okay, what did he
take over? And what did he leave after he walked away?
If this is the time he decides to walk away.
(06:35):
And on that point, if you were going to walk away,
wouldn't this be maybe as good a time as ever
for him to walk away from Colorado? Like if he
wanted to leave, Look, your sons are going to get drafted.
You got a Heisman Trophy candidate. The program winning the
(06:58):
Heisman Trophy winner rather your.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
So you had two Heisman Trophy candidate.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
The program is in as good a spot as it's
been in in decades. You've done your job. I don't
want to hear anybody say, well what about all this?
I love it here. I plan on being here. Okay,
Well he loves it in Texas too. That's why he
still lives there, doesn't he Like, doesn't he still have
a place there? Like I just I look at it
and I go, if you weren't gonna walk away, now's
(07:24):
the time to walk away.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Like now it would be the time that anyone gets
to choose that for a person, you know what I mean? Like,
whatever it is, your life journey takes you on. Nobody
was sitting there clamoring to Dion when he was trying
to get the job at Florida State. Oh, y'all got
short memories out there, Huh, check yourself, because when that
(07:46):
man was trying to get a job at Florida State,
y'all didn't think he can do it. Y'all thought it
was a gimmick. Y'all thought Dion Sanders was a joke,
and now what four years removed, three four years removed
from that fateful moment where they actually were looking at
Dion as if it's too big of a program, and
(08:09):
so he had to go through an HBCU. Shots out
to Jackson in the HBCU school taking a chance on
Dion Sanders and giving him the opportunity, and shots out
to Colorado for having the foresight to see that, you
know what, if he can do that at Jackson State,
he can do this at Colorado. Let's get behind this
(08:32):
man and let's support him. Now, when you have someone
who is as gifted and as talented as Dion Sanders is,
you know what you signed up for. Nobody has to
act as though Colorado is a victim of circumstance in
this scenario. You know what you signed up for. That
(08:54):
man took a one win team and turned them into
a competitor, took them to a a bowl game this year,
as you mentioned, two Heisman candidates and one winner. And
so to me and looking at if you think for
two seconds, having Tarrell Owens around and adding Warren Sap
(09:18):
to your roster, Oh y'all forgot about all that. Adding
George Hageman to your roster, adding all of these former
pros that are significant in the idea of being able
to coach and be able to relate to young men.
If you don't think that that man has been putting
together a coaching staff that could translate to the pros,
(09:40):
then you don't know who Dion Sanders is. You have
no idea who that man is. And so with that
being said, hey, if it happens, it happens. There is
no This is the he gets to choose when the
perfect time is. You know why, because he's been able
to create the opportunities. And that's what it comes down to.
(10:03):
No one has given Dion anything. Dion Sanders has earned
the opportunity and he has earned the right to be
not only sought after, but to decide if he'd rather
stay at Colorado or if he'd rather take an opportunity
and take a chance. It's not like it's a forever thing.
If it doesn't work out, you go back.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Oh god, if it doesn't work out, he'd be hired
at a college program in five seconds.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
You go back, Come on, go back. So there you go.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Yeah, I just I look at it and I go
and maybe this is you know, there's probably more to
it as far as being in depth, but I look
at it and go. When you get to a program
or a college program, like you have a couple of responsibilities.
Responsibilities are to be as good a coach and mentor
and do for the players what you can to give
(10:56):
them lessons so that they can move on in life
and improve them as human beings, as individuals, as players,
et cetera, et cetera. And also to make sure that
the place that you took over was in a better
spot when you left than when you arrived. He's done
both of those, Like so, I mean, he's done his part.
He's done his job. And if this is something he decides,
(11:17):
hey man, I'm ready, Like, let's go do this. There's
an opportunity here. It would be fascinating television, fascinating radio,
fascinating discussion. If you thought the Cowboys were being talked
about a lot before Jesus if Deon Sanders, Yeah, that
would be.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
And why would you not do it? Yeah, you don't
have to worry about being outshined like you did that
with Jerry Joe, who was your first coach. That one
came from Miami. Why am I blanking on his his
name Hall of Fame coach. Oh, Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Johnson,
Jimmy Johnson, you got a little caught up into the
(11:57):
mix of you know what would jim I wanted the credit.
Listen at this point, whatever it is you do, which
you should have saw it as your credit. Anyway, when
you brought him in, it's your credit. I think at
this point in Jerry Jones's life, I don't see him
being petty about if Deon Sanders comes in and gets
(12:21):
the type of attention that he would receive, the type
of thing. In fact, I think it kind of plays
into the mystique, It plays into the persona of what
Jerry Jones has created in Dallas. That would be the
hottest ticket in all of sports if he came there.
Why would you not make that decision? Why would you
not pull the trigger on doing it? Uh?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah, And by the way, you know, for what a
toy that I know, it's been a long time, but
when you look at these success Jerry Jones had, he
turned to who to have that success college coaches Jimmy Johnson,
Barry Switzer, like, so, you know, he does have familiarity
with that idea and that thought about, Hey, let's turn
(13:02):
it over to those guys if we want to have
some success and do things differently, I think it would
be tremendous for everybody involved and for anybody interested in
the team or likes discussing the team or even look.
Colorado gave a lot of people a lot of work
over the past couple of years, and by a lot
(13:22):
of people, I mean a lot of people that were
rooting for them to lose because it was a content factory.
And that's Boulder, Colorado. What the hell do you think
is gonna happen in Dallas with Jerry Jones involved and
Dion having to answer for Jerry Jones's two hits a
week on local radio in Dallas. Come on, man, this
is a gold mind.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Yeah. I mean, they're gonna go, They're gonna listen, They're
going to bounce off of each other, so well, you know,
I mean, that's again, that's what I'm saying. Like Mike
McCarthy was getting weirded out by the things that Jerry
Jones was saying. Do There's no way in hail anything
is going to get Deon Sanders out of character. There's
(14:00):
no way. So Jerry's going to say what he's going
to say, and Prime is going to play right off
of it because he's masterful. We've never seen anything like
Deon Sanders, and it's safe to say he's been able
to do it in everything that he's done. Why why
is this even a conversation. It should just be a
(14:23):
formatics thing. It just should be just for discussion. It
should have already happened. And you don't have to do
It's not a reverse Rooney rule, right, you don't have
to interview any white coaches before you hire a minority.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Call on, right, I mean, yeah, we're gonna do this
like I mean I did, like how Edward or pointed
out that they you know, have you know, interviewed Robert
Salon Leslie Fraser. So got that out of the way.
All right, so there's our two.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
You know. Yeah, but Deon's a minority.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I know. But you know it's just so you didn't
get anything out, I mean, cover your tracks, you know.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
I'm just saying it's it's the reverse what white coaches
did you? I don't think any of those were white coaches.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I mean, Jerry, if you want to interview me just
to cross you know, the T's and Dothy Ies. I'll
take that interview to get this done. Dion in Dallas,
I'm willing to interview for the job, you know, Lee Brady,
if we can get a couple more on there, like
why not? You know, I just want to make sure
this deal gets done. So we're looking out for you guys.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
It is.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
That's all I'm saying is that Rooney rule doesn't have
any reverse, So go ahead and hire that man. Did
you get no reverse races? Verse? No reverse Rooney?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Did you get reverse Rudie.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
We've interviewed three Caucasian mail recipients for the job. Now
we can hire Deon Sanders as our coach.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Jerry White, he get an interview. He's white, dogs.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
He's white. We had to bring him in.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Damn by the way, Uh, last week we tried this
and you were not in the mood to uh to
really embrace the whole feel and vibe of it all.
But this week, I feel like there's gonna be a
different I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Now, I'm okay with it. Like I'm okay with it. Okay,
it's a football Friday, Come on, bar, It's a football
Yes's Friday, Come football higher Sanders to send to the cowboy.
Come on, come on, come on.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Do it, do it, do it, do it.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Planets, planets, lasers, lasers, planet and lasers, planets and lasers.
Go planets, Go planets, planets, no planets. I'll come on around,
come on, come on, let's do it. Let's do this,
Let's do this. Friday night is a football Friday. Damn
(16:51):
football Friday. Welcome lasers, planets.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Yeah, yeah, for some.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
Football it is.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
You can bet your it's a football Friday here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Let's just get into this. Here, the future for your
beloved New York Jets, a team and an organization that
you have dismissed your entire career. You once saw them
standing in line walking into a club as a member
of the Giants, and it even offered. I didn't we
was up in that joint ready to start beefing, and
(17:42):
you didn't even offer to let them through the velvet
ropes you go way a little longer.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
They both waiting behind the velvet. Yeah, though it was
a little different. Neither were acutely went yeah, then neither
one getting that.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah, the Bills traveling and in town and next to you.
They're the team in the New York not you guys.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
Maybe the hockey team or the basketball team something. But
we ain't. We ain't in line. We ain't were waiting
to Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Karl Anthony Towns looks at mylak neighbors and goes, how's
it going over there as he walked into the club.
So Aaron Rodgers was on the Pat McAfee show starring
AJ Hawk, and he was speaking about his future with
the Jets, and he discussed his exit meetings and he
talked about, you know, just kind of sitting down with
(18:29):
the brass there. He sat down with Woody Johnson, obviously,
he sat down with Christopher Johnson. Uh, and i'my ell high,
who is the team president as well? To him, yell high,
he's the team president as well too, and uh.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
And so yell when you're high?
Speaker 2 (18:48):
What so Rogers detailed the.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Really yeller when I'm loud when I'm high, Well, yeah,
get quiet, Yeah, me neither.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
He detailed the meetings with everybody and talked about just
some critiques that he had for the organization.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
I gave some constructive things. Uh, it's there's so much
that goes into the whole thing. There's there's the food part,
there's the locker room, there's travel, there's hotel stuff, there's
different you know, you're just given a little constructive things
here and there that maybe they take the heart, maybe
they don't. But I think there's always ways to improve.
And I was impressed to see that. You know, the
(19:27):
meeting with Christopher and himI was a lot about that.
The meeting about what he was was more about you know,
the team future, different things. But I think everybody understands
that it's going to come down to a GM and
a coach and myself and whether we all want to
do do a dance together or it's it's not in
(19:51):
the cards.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
All right, Well, I say, ah, so much in that one.
Uh here's here now said is he telling the truth?
Because generally when you don't want to tell the truth
or you don't want to say what you really think
or feel, you do what he did, you know what
I mean, Like that's just you know, just like it's
(20:14):
just a quick takeaway from it. When you're speaking your truth,
you just shoot it. Listen. I talked to them about
what was going on. This is going to come down
to some little things. I gave some criticisms. You know,
they could take those criticisms, they could leave those criticisms. Nonetheless,
we had the conversation as far as me and Woody,
we talked, do we want to keep doing this? It's
(20:36):
up to the GM. It's up to me, you know,
it's up to Woody. We had these conversations. It's like
he was he he was trying to censor the truth. Right,
Is he telling us the truth? Is he telling you
the truth? What is the purpose of him doing this
interview detailing what it is that his exit interview consisted of.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
I think that he's try trying to play nice because
I think that it really was an exiting interview, both
of them, because I think he has exited the organization
and he's not going to be back, and so he's
playing nice right now. But if anything starts to go
down the path of smear campaigns on him, he's going
to empty the clip and let everybody know because that
(21:19):
you know, he has done that before, and I just
and I want to say this with all with respect
because you know, as the star of Aaron Rodgers Netflix
documentary Enigma, you know, I just want to I just
want to say you start. Yeah, as the as the
star of that show. I think he's gone, and I
(21:43):
think he knows he's probably gone, And honestly, I don't
think he cares. I really don't. I think that when
you know that you are potentially on your way out
of an organization and it has not gone well, and
you've heard all the stuff that's being said, and he
shows up to an exit meeting and says, you know,
you guys could judge because do things differently around here,
(22:05):
whether it be cafeteria, travel, this, this, and like lists
off everything wrong with the organization. I think that was
his subtle shot to the people that were making those decisions.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
The way we'll know what the hell? Yeah, yeah, the
way you.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Guys do things here sucks okay, and maybe you should
fix that. But hey, great meeting, and yeah, I'll wait
to see what the new GM and new coach has
to say.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
About it, which is dumb because this is your second
year with them, bro Ham, Why why wasn't this an
interview that that we hurt last year? I don't think
he was because you were hurt. You were you were hurt,
So you weren't traveling with them? Nah, you did preseason,
you did training? Can't right? I just I'm just saying
(22:49):
some of the things that he's talking about. It didn't
take him being there this year to say those things.
He could have made those those assessments last year after
last year. So, I mean, he traveled with the team
last year. He might have not have played, but you remember,
he was trying to make his comeback. He was out
(23:09):
before the games and stuff like that. He knew what
pregame meals looked like and stuff like that. I mean,
this is not new information that he's saying that that
they need to work on.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Come on, man, can we hear the so Rogers detailing
the recommendations to the team one more time.
Speaker 5 (23:28):
I gave some constructive things. It's there's so much that
goes into the whole thing. There's there's the food part,
there's the locker room, there's travel, there's hotel stuff, there's
different you know, you're just giving a little constructive things
here and there that maybe they take the heart nabe.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
By the way, listen, appreciate you guys letting me be
a part of the organization, really looking forward to what's next.
By the way, the food sucks. Travel could be better,
the hotels, and.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
You wonder why you're losing. It ain't me the way
we play, it's it's the way y'all handle things that sucks.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
So by the way, oh you guys, you guys are
unhappy with the win lost total. I'm unhappy eating something
that looks like a sewer rat before games every week.
That's what I'm unhappy about. You know how about that? Oh,
by the way, fix your hotel set up as well too.
When that tang, I think you've done exit meeting? Have
you ever done that in exit meeting? Tell the team,
by the way, the cafeteria, this, this, this, all of
(24:26):
this needs to be better.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
I mean, what exactly, what exactly is wrong with the
way you're traveling? Like even as a player, even if
I said, I thought to myself, dang, like are we
supposed to be traveling like this? Like is our is
our routine? Like is it good enough? And then here here,
(24:48):
here's where it gets real interesting for me. Is you're
basing that off of what Aaron Rodgers. Oh, probably you're
aperiences in Green Bay, which, by the way, you e
third the front off is a Green Bay as well,
(25:08):
on how they handle and how they do things. So
how does that work. I think he's just a chronic
He is a chronic hater bro like he is. He's
not okay with being okay. He's just not okay with
being He's like he's a drama queen.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Do you think do you think that's also a little
passive aggressive by him and being like, hey, you know
love love it here great, appreciate what you guys doing.
By the way, just some thoughts on how you could
fix things as well too. I think it's hilarious and
I think I honestly don't think he cares if he's
back with the Jets. I really don't. I think he's
at this point he realized, Hey, this season is over.
(25:48):
I just wanted to play all my games. I've won
a Super Bowl, I'm going to the Hall of Fame
first ballot. I threw five hundred touchdown passes. I got
to play with my best friend in Davante Adams my
final year.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Whatever.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
I know what you guys need to fix though, And
it's still gonna be here when I'm gone, and he's
just gonna walk away and disappear into the moonlight with
you know, smoking weed on the back of a camel somewhere.
I think it's hilarious, hilarious.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
I don't know man talk about I mean, I don't
think he did enough to ruin his career legacy. But dang, like,
you'll be remembered as being a malcontent in Green Bay,
and you'll be remembered as a bust in New York.
Damn No, I mean, I'm just what part was untrue?
(26:35):
Damn what part is untrue? You'll be remembered as a
bust in New York, and you'll be remembered for like
really really like being like a d bag on your
way out from Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I mean, listen, he was he was eighth in passing
yards this year in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Okay, you know, he does anybody care through twenty eight
touchdowns and only we'll anyone care, you know, lead to
lap are you? Are you present? Because I don't want
to be like you and ask you to do something
and you're in the in the you know, somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
He's taking a crap.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Yeah, I'm here, lead the lat you're there. What's your
what's your quickest memory of Aaron Rodgers right now today?
Winning a super Bowl? Okay, there you go. Well there,
that's fair. Why ask can we because he's a Green
Bay Packers fan. That's he's a Packers fan. So maybe
that's what everybody will remember. I'll remember.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
The Super Bowl. Winning three m vps. No, he only
went to He only went to one and he won
that one against Pittsburgh. But he went to a lot
of conference championship games, which, by the way, I would
say one of the worst. And this is where I
actually think things went sideways between him and McCarthy and Lee.
You tell me if I'm crazy. NFC title game against
Seattle that was a full fledged meltdown by them. They
(27:59):
had that game in the bad. There was the turnover
on the kickoff. I forget who was it, Jermichael Finley.
Michael Finley. Yeah, and then he was cut right after Yeah,
and then Rogers and McCarthy were going at it on
the sidelines. I think they were yelling at each other.
I was shocked they lost that game, and Russell Wilson
was crying afterwards and which is which is rare?
Speaker 4 (28:23):
You know?
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Oh oh all right, so yeah listen. But I mean
if you ask me, like, uh, top of mind first
memory when thinking about Aaron Rodgers, you know, being an
enigma at the Netflix documentary, I would say, is that
you started in. That's correct, that is that is correct?
Speaker 4 (28:41):
I mean, but don't you see how delusional fans are?
What do you mean?
Speaker 6 (28:45):
Then?
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Didn't lead the lap just proved to us how delusional
fans like that? Man ether your front office man like
just just totally just all over them, all over him.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Lee doesn't care about the fields. Have I asked I
once asked Lee one time, like, hey, man, can you
believe that stuff about OJ? And he's like, oh what
the guy from the Avis commercials?
Speaker 4 (29:08):
Right? All right?
Speaker 2 (29:10):
I guess he's exonerated on all charges. Okay, yeah, the juice,
the juice couldn't have done that. Yeah, he ran for
all those yards. See how he hopped over the turnstile
the airport.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Geez, he was in the naked gun like those like
those type movies Bob Uker used to be in. They're
comparable Naked Gun Major League Like they were like kind
of the same. I'm Lee. I mean'st Lee. I get it,
(29:41):
dang by the way, I felt like he was trying
to tear that organization apart and like set it on
fire before he left. But I guess you'll just remember
he went for the Super Bowl. Well, hey, that was
pretty cool. I wasn't a huge Aaron Rodgers fan. For one.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
I was a big Brett Farv guy, so I was
never a huge fan of his starting his career, and
then yeah, on his way out. Book ended pretty controversial
on both ends. But in the end, when I think
in the long run, if you were going to think
about it asking as a fan, yeah, you're gonna look
at the positives.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Okay, I don't know, all right, I just feel like
the further you get away from it, how far how far?
How long ago was that Super.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Bowl twenty eleven. That's a long time, man, that's a
long time.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
I only got a lot people think the better Packers quarterback.
That's my take. We're in twenty twenty five now, that's
fourteen years ago. That's fourteen years ago. There are kids
that are in middle school or yeah, they're about to
be in high school that never saw that that Super Bowl. Damn,
(30:50):
I'm just saying like peoples are forever. Man, It's like
that they are forever. But people remember, like, oh, they
want a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
It's like they can of chili in the cupboard. That's
good until twenty eighty, you.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Know, I guess, I don't know. I mean for people
who didn't see it, they they remember the things that
kind of like represent a sign of the times. And
that dude lit he lit a little lit a match,
dropped that bad boy, dropped that bitch right on a
trail of a lighter fluid and walked out the door.
(31:25):
But you'll remember him for his Super Bowl, So good
for you. I guess he won in the end. If
the fans that's what they remember him for, finally remember
him for. To me, I just feel like he heard
his He hurt his career by the way he left
and by the way he handled the way things went
in New York.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
He hurt his career. LEA, who's the packer with the mistake?
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (31:48):
Mistaken?
Speaker 2 (31:48):
It was Brandon Bostic on that uh on that onside,
kep remember that great game though, But what a gag
drop by Green Bay by the way, just this just
came in.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
The NFL is now announced. We've been talking about, Hey, look,
you know we would love to be a part of
this you know NFL game if it goes to Spain.
It has been kicked around and apparently they are headed
in Madrid next season. Oh nice, it'll be the first
ever game in Madrid. It will involve the Miami Dolphins,
which is good.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Oh yeah, I was in Barcelona when when the Steelers
played the San Francisco for you now.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
I mean like, I'll be in in Tijuana as long
as somebody say they from Madrid.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
The first time I saw topless topless out of beach.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Did you.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Changed my life? Now?
Speaker 2 (32:41):
I would say, yeah, incoming. I would say this that
if there was one team that could really use like
a change of pace because of the brutal conditions with
where they play, I would say Miami is definitely the one.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
So that's good.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Like talk about the rich getting richer, Like why why
can't Green Bay or Buffalo get a game in my again,
Madrid for God's sakes?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Or Jacksonville I mean think about it. Yeah, no kidding,
Jacksonville gets no love. I'd be their place sucks. Yeah,
it should be Jacksonville, Georgia, not Jacksonville, Florida.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
That is right there, right, it is basically Georgia.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
It really should be Jacksonville, Georgia.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Oh Man, tell that to Pete. Next tup, He's on,
mister Jaguar.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
So be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington,
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Five lines, not those kind of lines. Five picks, five spreads.
(33:50):
Time for picks against the spread?
Speaker 2 (33:53):
All right, Lee, So how much wider is my lead
over everybody else?
Speaker 4 (33:57):
Well?
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Interesting that you asked that, Jonas. You wan to go
game by game from last week? Or why not? All right,
time real quick.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
Yeah, the Texans took care of the Chargers, but all
three of you guys took uh took la in that one,
so nobody got a win there. We looked at Steelers
at Ravens, where the Ravens pulled off the twenty eight
to fourteen victory. They had a nine and a half spread.
Brady was the only one who laid the point, so
he got that. Everybody correctly took the Bills to beat
the Broncos. No surprise there, Packers at Eagles. Everybody took Philly,
(34:27):
unfortunately for me, Commanders at Bucks. This is where the
spread starts happening. Washington was taken by both the pros,
Brady and LeVar.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
And then lastly we fit in.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Can I say this, Why should I be held accountable
because of Baker Mayfield's inability to hold onto the football?
Why should I be doctor point?
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Oh you know what, I'm sorry, this was actually a push.
I'm looking at the wrong. Uh oh no, no, no, no,
I'm right right right.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
That was Washington.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
No, my fault.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Tampa was point favorite. But I shouldn't be docked points
on that because of Baker.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Bank got money line. I think I money line Washington
in that game, to be honest, that was a stix pick.
You money lined you Rams. Monday Night Football. We got
money line Washington too, but I'll throw you a money
line doesn't make it the scores, but all right, it doesn't.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
And the bros also took the Rams and you did
money line that one. Var So in the end last week,
Brady did take the win five to one. In our
six games on picks against the spread, LeVar, you went
four two in Jonas two four.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Now Jonas.
Speaker 6 (35:37):
You did have a lead for several weeks, but now
Var has leapfrogged you back into the lead.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Two game lead for Vard, I'm gonna I'm gonna bring
it home. Then two games at this point is a rat.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
All right, I'll get it back. Now, that's a rat.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
Alright, you guys.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
All right, Well, now on to the divisional round where
we have playoff weather fellas. We got Texans at Chiefs
to kick it off twenty four degrees at kickoff is
what it's supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Chiefs eight and a half point favorites, Kansas City to
wipe out.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Eight and a half point favorites. I'm going to lay
the points on that one. So, I mean, they won't
beat them by more than they it's going to be.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Less than that stick's picks.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
You like the Texans, you.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Like the top, I mean I like the Texans. Got
just I'm laying the points on that. Though.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
You act like you're gonna you act like you're gonna
be in Houston soon, taking the point.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
I'm taking the points, yeah, whatever, God commanders at Lions.
Speaker 6 (36:31):
Lions are eight and a half again, eight and a
half point favorites at Home Commanders at Lions.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
I'm gonna take the Commanders. Will with the points on
this one.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
As well, sticks picks, I'm tired of that. While he
gets imaging, I get a bag of crappy. I get.
I just got a weird feeling about this game. I'm
gonna take the Commanders getting that many points. I don't
know why, man, I just get a weird feeling about
(37:01):
this game. The closer it gets to it. I think
Detroit's gonna win, but not by that much.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
I think Detroit will win, but not about them. I
think Washington can knock them off. But they you know,
they got their full backfield back. They they're in a
good space. Take Detroit, but they won't beat them by
more than eight. Go ahead, fellas.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Rams at Eagles thirty two degrees, could be snow, could
be a little bit of rain.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Eagles six and a half, six point favorites. I'll take Philly.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
That is just a Let me tell you how crazy
this is. This is a crazy one, and I'm gonna
tell you why because I believe the Rams are playing
the best football right now.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
In the NFC.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
I'm going to money line the La Rams in this
game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a tremendous it's the
biggest upset so far in the playoff.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Sticks picks the last one for the divisional round.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
Ravens at Bill's eighteen degrees at kick off Ravens what
point and a half on the road, Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
I'm taking Baltimore, Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
And let's been in the national championship.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Why not Ohio State eight and a half point favorites
versus Notre Dame.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Oh I'm taking. They're gonna they're gonna beat them by
more than that. Yeah, taking out State.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
I'll take Notre Dame. All right, there it is picks
against the spread, ma'am knocks.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Picks, knocks sticks picks.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
