our presents. See what the entire NFL schedule is gonna be. Yay,
this is fun stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Hooray we what does it get?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Exciting schedule? Come on, it's fun.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
We get to do an account wins and losses. See
who got screwed on a bye week late in the year. Like,
this is the good stuff here.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I actually don't like bye weeks early in the year.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
You know you prefer them.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I was gonna ask you guys this, do you have
any specific requests as players when the NFL schedule comes out?
Is there anything that you guys say that's what I want?
Definitely don't want this like.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
What stands middle of the season. By if you have
to be earlier or late, you'd rather to me late. Usually,
like some of those teams that have a buy for
the first four weeks or so, you're going, all right,
we just got started. Now we're taking some time off.
You know, it usually isn't the best and especially for
teams that get into a rhythm or float early in
(02:22):
the season, then you kind of have that off week
where you get off track a little bit, got to
pick it back up. It's just to me, I think
it's worse having it early than late in that case.
But that's that's about it. I mean, you'd like to
not have multiple weeks on the road, you know, if
you can avoid the back to back weeks or back
to back to back, that's always helpful too.
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Yeah, I mean yeah, being on the road is never
that's never generally fun. But definitely have in your bye
week mid season, and if you had to have it,
have it late season. You know. For my experience, well,
we were only a winning team like maybe once or twice,
so it's kind of like if if you're winning, like
(03:05):
I can remember in New York we were winning, you
get that bye week. People don't realize that that bye
week you you you get like what maybe one or
two days of practice I believe, like maybe Monday and Tuesday,
and then they maybe they release you Wednesday or something
like that, so you get out. Like like for me,
(03:28):
I was like I was in Jamaica, like out of there,
Like I was out of the country and and so
you get that in Jamaica about hey, he you know,
that's that's where my root is from. So yeah, I
just have Yeah, of course why not.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
I was.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
I mean I was in shape. You know, I was
looking pretty good back then. So yeah, I wore something
like that, you know, a little bracelet. Yeah, yeah, everything cool.
How you stay? Uh and and so yeah that how
you stay you know, like your say how you stay anyway?
Yeah that's uh yeah, that was that to me, having
(04:06):
that opportunity to kind of hit your reset, so to speak,
for you know what, what would you know, for twice
in my career would be for a playoff run. You
know that they'd always felt good being able to get
that little reset right there, like right on the Cuspa
where it was mid season to late season. So yeah,
(04:29):
I didn't like early early, early byes because you know
the weather was still decent, you know, I mean I did.
I didn't play in a nice weather a nice weather market.
So I don't know how I would have felt if
I was in like, you know, Miami or you know,
Tampa or somewhere like that where the weather is pretty good.
In California, where the weather is good all year, but
(04:50):
playing in a place where it gets cold. We didn't
have an indoor facility, so you kind of, you know,
you wanted that bye when it was snowing out and
when it was cold, so you can kind of get
that little reset.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
I would think that you would want as little travel
as possible if you do get that break, so you
maybe not want to go anywhere. At least that's how
I operate. I don't want to stay at home. Just
let me stay at home and just kind of relax.
I don't want to be in an airport. I don't
want to be having to deal with traffic.
Speaker 6 (05:17):
Going to the air That's how you are in life,
That's right. You know you don't want to go anywhere.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Yeah, you don't eat food, you don't go anywhere. Yeah,
it makes sense for you. I think the rest of
humanity would probably look at a little different.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Listen, all I need is a weight room and some
Chopper protein shakes, and I'm good. That's all I need
that I'm simple man.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
That should be a shirt. Chopper Protein that definitely is
a shirt.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
What would the end on the back ingredients?
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Yeah, that would be pretty fun approchein.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Really, Jill wants us to come off as offensive. I
don't know how it's not going to be. For as
much as you claim to work out, you really should
be bigger.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
At this point.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Listen, that is insulting.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Talking about it all the time.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
And I just you know, I'm jacked.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Can we get you on something? Can we get some
forts and answers?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
So why do you why do you always round down
on my measurements? I mean, you know I've got like
twenty eight inch arms. You know I'm jacked, all right.
I don't know why you tell tales on the air
like this. It's insulting that you would lie to the
audience like that.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
You are pretty slim, you know.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
But you you worked out, Brady, you you.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Were pretty slim Jonas you know. But what it is
you you work out for marathons, that's all.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
That's what I'm saying like, like, it's fine if you
don't want to be jacked, you're you're more of like
a slim you know, it works out a slim bit,
you know.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
I'm just you want like a punter.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yeah, Hey, there were some punters who were shredded. Who
was that guy from the Giants.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Under Jack Oh h burn?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
No, no, you want to uh he won one of
the Super Bowls with the Giant and Steve Weatherford.
Speaker 7 (07:01):
It was.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
Yoked.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, he was a lot of people. And Brady has
told me that that I remind him a lot.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Of Steve Weatherford.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
I'm glad you brought him up because he's an example
of when you're a punter, when you're not punting, you
have other time to go work out.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
And that's what he looks like.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Yeah. You, on the other hand, it claimed to be
always working out. You do not look like him.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Look when I'm brushing my teeth, I'm doing curls. When
I'm combing my hair, curls. When I'm in the shower,
I've got Poli bars in the shower that I use
to get tricep workouts in.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
It's it's what I live by.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
That's what I'm about and again some people are hashtag
built different.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
I've turned on Conan the Barbarian with all of this
this lifting ng man talk. Just so we're clear, that'll
get you going, yeah, to get me.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
By the way, we should make mention of the fact
that look what happens when the free throws even out
in the Warriors Lakers game both teams fifteen free throw attempts.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
What happens?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Golden State runs away with it last night, a cruise
to victory situation there up in the Bay Area. The
Golden State Warriors now down three to two in that series,
and the TNT crew is even saying afterwards Game six
at the Crypto dot Org Arena whatever it's called. Now
the Lakers, that's their Game seven.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
They need to get it done.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
And Anthony Davis was rolled out in a wheelchair because
he got hit in the head and.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
That Looney knocked in nooney, nooney, and uh and it
was funny.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
To watch so well, it was funny to watch Charles
Barkley and uh shack trying not to mock the fact
that he got hit in the head and was wheeled
out in a wheelchair and Kenny Smith was trying to
give a breakdown and Shaq was they him and Barkley
were looking at each other just laughing their ass off,
and nobody wanted to say anything because.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
They didn't want to be too cold blooded.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
And then when they finally got at Barkley to give
his analysis on the game, he claims that Kenny Smith
was acting like he was pushing his chair like a wheelchair.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
And he's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
I didn't do that.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
It's just but that's part of why, like basketball gets
such a bad rap as far.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
As the tough guy thing they saw. It's just the
way they handle injuries.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
I'm not saying that guys don't get legitimately injured or
have you know, go through pain or play through pain.
It's just when it does happen, you know, you see
guys who's just I'm like, what are we doing? Like,
I mean, look, I guess the equivalent in football obviously,
because you're not gonna get a wheelchair out there on the.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Turf like that is is you you know, you get
taken off on the cart. But these are legitimate injuries.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Air cast sometimes an.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
Air cast or some guy's leg is point in three
different directions, or literally he got knocked out like he
had tried to fight Mike Tyson back during his prime.
And literally the guy's just face down that he's not
even responsive Like that's that's when.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
You're like, okay, bring out the cart.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Like otherwise they're like get your ass up and walk
off the field.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
I mean your coach like that. That's it's just a
different culture.
Speaker 6 (10:10):
So it is always grabbed up.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
You're fine before before I just talked yesterday how he's
picking guys up off.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
Off the ground after absolute de botes immediately immediately.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
It's not even allowing them to realize the pay they're in.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
No, like what's the last time.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Usually NBA players will lay on the ground and like
soak it up and someone to come like grab them.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that is the funniest bout the way.
Why do guys why do basketball guys never help themselves
up off of the ground? Why do they all? Is
it because they're so tall, Like it's like they just
always wait for somebody to help them up.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Okay, let's go beyond that.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
You just missed a free throw, you go get fives
from your teammates. Why you just did something bad? Why
are you getting fives from your teammates? And when people
could be like, well, what's the routine, dude, I get it,
I played basketball. I understand I never did that. You
want to know why, because if I shot a free
throw and missed, I wasn't looking for my teammates for
support to then make the next free throw. I'm now
(11:12):
self evaluating, going, what the hell just happened there? You
spend hours practicing free throws, get your craft together, make
the next one. I'm not tapping fives with other people.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
The one that's weird is when they reach behind their
back and nobody's there. What's the point, Well, that's part
of my They might be there, okay, but they're not
a lot of times, like a lot of times they're
getting instructions from the coach or they're you know, waiting
to see they're trying to catch a blow as they're
sitting behind the foul line and nobody's there, and they'll
just throw their hands out there.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
That that part is weird.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
A lot of that stuff is for show because they're
movie stars. Man. You know, basketball players are more diva
ish because you can see them. You know, it's like
it's more hollywoodish, you know, guys, they're not as workmen,
like as football guys got, you know, at lunch pail
type of approach. Like it's not the same, you know,
definitely like Jonas. Yeah, yeah, there you go. I definitely
(12:08):
not like Jonas.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Look, I don't know a hard hat lunch pail guy.
That's me through through and you guys know it.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
I mean, you got more of a soft cap, you.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Know, one of those.
Speaker 6 (12:22):
Rubber rubber, don't hurt your head hitting off the walls.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
With a propeller on the top. That's what I have,
my soft hat.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
Yeah, that's yeah. Blippy's got one of those, like the
pig in that commercial that is out the window.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Wait wait, wait wait, I beg of you, of you, Brady.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
This is the one stretch of time during the course
of the day I don't have to hear Blippy. I please,
can we not talk about Blippy for three hours?
Speaker 5 (12:50):
I don't get the attraction Why kids like that guy?
He creeps me out. I literally, anytime I get a
chance to, I do not let my kids watch that.
And then they'll like find a way on an iPad
on a plane of turning it on, and I'll catch them.
I'll be like throwing peanuts at him across the aisle
just to turn, just to turn them on something else.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
My kid loves him, my daughter, my daughter, and my
gouts and the world both in the Blippy face back
in the day.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
For people that don't know, all right, first of all,
consider yourself lucky that you don't know. For people that
don't know, Blippy is this guy in glasses who wears
like a funny hat. Yeah, and he sold it like
he's His net worth is like almost eighty million dollars.
Like the guy's made a killing, and he wears blue
and orange and he just goes to like funhouses and
(13:37):
trash truck parking lots and like goes and takes people on.
It's like supposed to be like some sort of learning thing,
but he's such a nerd and it's on all day.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
And he.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Just sold his the rights to the show to another
and he made a killing. I get he just crushed it.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
But I'll be honest with you too, Vara, if you
haven't seen him, look him up.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
I could. I'm not saying Jonas looks like him.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
I'm just saying I could see Jonas pivot all of
a sudden.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
Show.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Let me tell you something.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
I'm just.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Said, you could make big. You could do this, Blip,
you could do this.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
B L B L I P P I like that's it's.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
Every You could do this Jonas, you could pivot and
you can make that transition.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
It would be easy to do.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I mean, I'm saying this is very energetic.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, this this is blippyday. This is a radio station.
Do you know what comes out of a radio station?
Speaker 6 (14:41):
Radio?
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Let's take it to the station. But it's non stop.
Speaker 6 (14:49):
This pretty good doing that though.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
It's on all day. How would not be good?
Speaker 4 (14:53):
You could be missing your calling.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
You just called me Blippy. I'll never forgive you for that.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
I'm saying something.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
You could do what he does.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Oh my god.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
Then apparently Blippy has a black friend to that that
dresses just like him.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Yeah, show it to you. I'm just I'm just up
here doing my homework.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
You must be using Lee's passwords. Lee just discovered Blippy.
Is this is the first time you see Blippy?
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I don't get it.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
He literally, oh man, fire truck, fire truck, not me
of your truck. I allday, and there's there's parents who
are driving to work right now or saying the same thing.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Please give me a break, like I'm doing everything.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
But you know what, it's better to talk about the
NBA's god.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Fire, my daughter and my gods and Bold dress up
as Sleepy one year for Halloween.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Did they really years old?
Speaker 6 (16:30):
You know you did to Bert. Don't be passing it
off like it was just them. You know you were
in one two Happy as hell. You was the main
one wanting to be Blippy.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
And you know you used to dress like dj from
the Street Fighting. We used to go to Jamaica. Yeah,
there's a there's.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
A you know, I know j d C, the guy
who played that rolling street Fighter.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Yeah, we used to hang out. He was ripped now
he was ripped up.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
I do appreciate the fact Burdo just fired that right
back at LeVar.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
But somehow kept rolling.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
I was just like, Berto is ready this morning?
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:11):
That coming?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
What do you guys?
Speaker 2 (17:13):
What do you guys think of two pros? As the
NBA coverag during the playoffs, it was great. We talked
about Blippy and Street Fighter Berto.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
The first mixture, the first Spanish speaking Blippy character in
the history.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Of Blippy l blippyl oh Man.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
A plethor.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
Plethory? That's a pinata? What comes out of a pinata?
Candy oh Man.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Here Fox Sports Radio,

is going to stop by. There's an NFL schedule release
happening today. Some of those will sprinkle out next hour,
and then we've got you in or you out. It's
all yours again until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific.
(18:13):

awkward transition in the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
You'll hear from them next here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Fox Sports Radio LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here coming up in about twenty minutes from now
here from the tiraq dot com studios. We do have
a development in the world of sports, and some would
call it a bit of a surprise, so we will
get into that for you again twenty minutes from now
here on FSR soon. Rogers is in New York. He's
(19:02):
with the Jets. It's been celebrated. He's been at Knicks games,
Rangers games and they were still playing. He's you know,
worked out with the team, made the rounds, all of
that fun stuff. The guy left behind his Jordan Love,
and Jordan Love is now the brand new starting quarterback. Well, yeah,
he's just kind of you know, he's there now. He's
their guy, and so our friends listening on our fine
(19:23):
affiliates in Wisconsin. They've got a brand new quarterback hoping
to go three for three. Hall of Fame quarterback play
for three decades. I'm not sure if that has ever
happened anywhere before in the NFL, but it could happen
with the Green Bay Packers if Jordan Love is the dude. Well,
Jordan Love spoke yesterday just about his journey as quarterback
of the Packers, what he learned from Rogers, and also
(19:45):
what was difficult and most difficult about his time in
Green Bay so.
Speaker 8 (19:48):
Far, just being able to sit back as a quarterback
and observe him, you know, his footwork, how the ball
comes out of his hands, and just how he practice
every day and then takes that end of the game.
It's just very valuable stuff that I was able to
sit for three years and pick his brain on and
just watch him work.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
You know, when I got drafted here, I knew right.
Speaker 8 (20:04):
Away that I knew exactly where what situation was being
put in who else being behind, So I knew it
was going to come with time that I was going
to come in and learn and grow. But I mean,
I think the hardest time was when he resigned the
contract last year. It was kind of like, Okay, well
where do we go from here? What do I do?
(20:25):
And I think, I, you know, just sat back kind
of thought to myself and just came back with their approach.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Like let's just go ball out.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
So my question is if Rogers didn't have what some
would be perceived as a down year last year in
comparison to the back to back MVP seasons. Is Rogers
gone from Green Bay or are we still looking at
Aaron Rodgers wanting to come back another time here? And
and Jordan Love's kind of sitting there waiting again.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
If he had another MVP season. I don't think there's
any way they can move on, you know, I mean
it really felt like they were waiting for basically a
sub MVP season.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
Give us a reason.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's that's how I felt when
they made the draft pick. I kind of related to
Jordan Love, And honestly, to some degree, I kind of
experienced this in my own path in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
You know, I got drafted in as a.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
First round pick, and up to that point, you know,
between OTA's and Mini camp and and then even throughout,
like everyone always made a big deal about the fact
that I hadn't agreed upon terms, But the truth of
the matter is didn't miss.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Any preseason games.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
You know, It's ok, really dragged on into that still
faded in time before all of that, I had a
fine preseason and the rest of that training camp, and
so there was nothing at that point in time that
I had done that would make you think that I
wasn't ready. I felt ready, And after my rookie year
they signed Derek Derek Andison to an extension. Now, he
(21:53):
had a phenomenal year my rookie year. He ended up
going to the Pro Bowl that year. But I can
recall being like, all right, well, he's signed an extension.
They're gonna that means they're gonna keep and he's kinding
off a Pro Bowl season. You know he's the guy then,
and I've got to continue to sit and wait, And
that could be a really frustrating thing because you know,
(22:13):
you're amping up to be the guy. And I think
for most guys who get drafted in that spot, and
really every single quarterback that gets drafted, like you were
the guy where you came from in college, no different
when you go for high school to college college in
the NFL, like you're always the guy. And it's really
really difficult to not be the guy because pretty much
every single one of the every single one of the
(22:35):
quarterbacks that's in the NFL, and even the guys behind him,
their entire life, they've been starting, they've been playing, and
so that's how they've grown in the position, that's how
they've learned and adapted. So now you've got to learn
how to sit and watch and learn. And that's not
easy to do because some people just don't learn that way, right.
Some people just need to go out and experience things.
(22:56):
Like you got kids, you know, we all got kids.
There's kids that like they can watch someone else do
something wrong and be like, oh, I'm not doing that,
And there's other kids that you're like, don't touch the stove.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
It's hot, don't.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
Do it, and they're like, nah, I gotta do it though,
because I gotta know how bad it's gonna hurt or
I have to know how hot it really is. Dad,
all right, Like I mean, like in all seriousness, and
you know, that's kind of how some people learn.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
They just have to go through the experience of it.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
So I feel for him, man.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
Because it's not easy being in the position he's in
where now he sat for three years, but everyone's trying
to act like they want him to be that quarterback
that to be quite honest, we saw his second to
last year in Utah State, not even his final year
there because he didn't play quite as well, and so
he's had a lot of time off and it's hard
than to jump back in that saddle and be the
player that I think in his mind he really wants
(23:47):
to be.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
You know, the first thing that jumped out at me
was how well he sounded in his interview. I mean,
I give him a ton of credit. He sounded very,
very in control, very very mature, almost Aaron Rodgers like subtle,
you know, in terms of his approach to how how
he was speaking. So I like the way he answered.
(24:12):
I like the poise that he had in his voice,
which means that you're getting a guy that has gone
through some things. You know, in order for the muscle
to grow, it's got to endure pain to grow. You know,
it's got to be stretched, it's got to be broken down,
and all those different things. And you know that's that's
what he's been going through, is a growth process. And
(24:36):
and you know, when when you're developing, a lot of
times we lose sight of the fact that you should
have time to develop, you should have time to learn,
and and it not be so so critical day one
that you have it right. And I think so many
(24:56):
times players are lost. There's so many amazing players with
such amazing talent and amazing potential that get lost because
they did not have the opportunity to kind of struggle
to to grow, to learn and put themselves in a
(25:19):
position where Okay, I see what it is. I've learned
what it is in order to be able to have
success at this level. Now, it doesn't always work out
when you got to sit down behind a guy. So
that's always like kind of like the the I guess
the it could go wrong in those scenarios where you're
(25:40):
sitting to wait to play. But in this case, Jordan
Love will get his opportunity to show if that time
to sit behind one of the greats to ever do
it paid dividends for his development and his growth or didn't.
But I think he's got he's when you got backs.
So he's got two backs. He's got a very very
(26:00):
dynamic back and and uh, what's what's my kid's name,
Aaron Aaron Jones, Very very you know, diverse. He's got
a power back, so that that will give him a
little bit of of kind of you know, stability or
or a little bit of take the pressure off of
(26:20):
him to just always deliver, you know, the ball down field.
But with that being said, you know he's got he's
got Watson out there he's got a few guys out there,
you know, in the receiver's position. It's not a bad
team roster wise. So he walks into a scenario situation
where he can prove that he can be the guy
(26:41):
for this team. And I think that people will come
in with a measured level of expectation for what his
success is because you've moved on from a Hall of
Fame quarterback. So I don't think it's a bad situation
for Aaron Love right now, Georg excuse me, Jordan Love
right now, I.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Look at it.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
It's such a good situation.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
People are still mixing the stay up with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah, yeah, listen, Aaron Loves a great name is that's
a T shirt.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
So since you brought it up, since you brought up
just sort of the expectations, I do wonder what the
patience level is going to be like because Rogers first
year when he took over for Far they went six
and ten.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
And if Rogers goes to New York.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
This year, and you're going to be doing the side
by side comps, which is not fair, and I agree.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
I just wonder if Jordan Loves struggles.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Or goes through the growing pains and Rogers and the
Jets are Super Bowl contenders. How that lands with people
in Green Bay? And if maybe there's some heat on
the front office saying, listen, he was capable of that,
and capable of that for doing it longer here and
you guys butchered it upstairs. I just wonder how that
lands with people in Green Bay.
Speaker 6 (27:49):
But at some point, don't you have to make that decision.
You drafted the guy at some point, I mean, and
you moved up to get him in the draft, like
first round draft pick. At some point you got to
make the move, regardless of if that's going to be
you know, the criticisms that you didn't have to draft,
but you did. I know, yeah, so so now that
(28:10):
you did it, I mean, you got to make the
decision to play them.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
I think this whole move and everything that's happened between
Aaron Rodgers and the draft picker Jordan Love.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
And then Jordan Love afterwards. If if Green.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Bay goes through a spell or they kind of go
on a downward spiral, people are gonna look back at
Brian guten Kunsen point the finger right there, because to
Jonas's point, they didn't need to move on from Aaron Rodgers.
It's and by the way, this happens all the time
in the business world. You know, have you guys ever
(28:44):
been a part of like a company or organization where
it's like someone takes over and things are going well,
but what's the first thing they do.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
They want to put their stamp on it, so they
make some change.
Speaker 5 (28:54):
Or they start to, you know, create some sort of
difference a way in which how everyone needs to look
at something because the new guys here and he's got
this new spinner idea. And it's like, dude, sometimes like
you don't need to do anything right away, like settle
into the position and you could start to make changes
you see fit and put your own fingerprints on it,
but you don't have to right away. It happens all
(29:15):
the time in well run businesses that ended up taking
a turn for the worst. And I think he took
over as general manager and you know, initially one of
the first things you notice was he was more active
in free agency, like Green Bay was not known as
a team that was very active in free agency.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Now there's a lot of reasons why that could be
the case.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
And again, different ownership structure where they're not gonna be
throwing a.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Bunch of cash all the time at at free agents.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
But you know, you know, they kind of looked at
it or were like, all right, we got to make
some moves while we're still in the prime of Aaron
Rodgers's career. And so they made some signings, they tried
to do some of that. It still wasn't equitting necessarily
a Super Bowl. And so if you if you look
at you know, really what he did when he drafted
Jordan Love, he just started the claw on Rogers. And
(30:01):
I don't know that you know, Aaron ever saw himself
playing anywhere else but in Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
But the second he made that draft.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
Pick, it's like, you can't help but think, now this
guy is trying to push me out. And so I
know he said when he went into that hole and
all that, like he was eighty ninety percent retire whatever
he said, And when he came out, he's like, hold
on a second, you know, because they were trying to
I guess trade him behind his back or they couldn't
get in touch with him and all that. The truth
of the matter is he probably felt somewhere like he
(30:30):
wanted to prove to that group that he still had
it and even those two MVP seasons wasn't enough.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
There was still probably.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
That thought, whether you want to admit it or not,
that ultimately led to to continue to play somewhere else,
by the way, on a team that hasn't had success
in forever since Joe Namath, and in a division and
in a conference that is maybe as tough as it's
ever been with the quarterbacks that we've got, you know
now in the AFC, Like if he does this, it'll
(31:00):
be a tremendous Like, yeah, I proved you wrong.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
You tried to tell me when my career was gonna end.
Speaker 5 (31:06):
You drafted they got to replace me, and I went
back to back MVP seasons. You know, you didn't really
want to build around me. Everyone made a big deal
about them not taking a wide receiver. And now I
go to the New York Jets. We win one there.
How about them Apples.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
The year before they drafted Jordan Love, the Packers were
thirteen and three. Rogers was a twenty six touchdown, four
interception guy. Like they like even the idea of like, wow,
we need to find the air apparent well, because he
was struggling the year before, because you guys weren't winning games.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
He did trade it up to take him, and by
the way, he's this.
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Is not like an indictment on Jordan Love, but he
was in the exact same situation as Will Levis, the
exact same situation. His tape from two years prior to
when he was drafted was really good. Like when you
watched him, you saw some of those elements of him
being able to flick his wrists and move in the
athleticism and some special throws, and then the next season
(32:02):
you really didn't see it much, at least not in
the first half.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
He was kind of settled down the second.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
Half, but it was an entirely different deal where you're going, oh,
this isn't the same, and so you just felt different
about it. But I think not only would could Brian
guten Kust be looked at as the guy who botched
the end of Aaron Rodgers' career and him not retiring
as a Packer, but also even Jordan Love and be
responsible for his career. I think the one thing they
(32:28):
think they've done to help him has probably sign him
to the extension where he's now got two years to
play and they can now watch him in an economical way.
They can watch him over the next two years. It's
not like a one and we got to make a
decision next year. You know, they're going to give him
these two years, and I think they'll make a decision
after that.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
So we do have a surprising result. In the world

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Guys. In casey miss will change up, ready for that.
Speaker 9 (34:35):
I wasn't I like it though, I like it, guys
and listeners. In case you missed this, we talked about
it the other day. Bob Huggins, of course in hot
Water for his anti gay slurs on the radio. He
has agreed to a one million dollar salary reduction, a
three game suspension, and sensitivity training. His salary now goes
from four point two million to three point two million.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
You know what's awful about that whole entire like thing
when you guys played the sound, I don't know why.
I like, all I heard him was just making fun
of Catholics.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
That's the one thing I heard from the piece.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Like I once I heard him make some remarks, it's like, oh,
he's not being serious. He's just you know, relating back
to his old days of trying to rag on some
Catholics there in Cincinnati. H.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Then it's escalated to this, yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Another group of people that.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
He was something.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah, are you guys surprised he didn't get fired?
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yes, I am, But I'll give I'll give West Virginia
credit because that feels society when because it feels like
the easy thing to do would be just fire the
guy and let's move on.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
People make mistakes. He said something dumb.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
He regretted it, and he did get popped a million dollars,
which is a significant amount of money, and he's getting
suspended three games. I'm surprised he wasn't suspended, But but
I would give West Virginia credit in the sense that
the easy thing feels like, oh, just get rid of
him and cut ties completely.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
And it feels like at least everybody does. Yeah, somebody
says something in in and around those areas, they go
into those parameters. You're at it here.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Because how it is like Nick Saban made the point
years ago talking about Musin Mohammad that Musin Mohammad, when
he coached at Michigan State, got into trouble and he said, look,
I could have easily just kicked him off the team
and said get out of here.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I don't want anything to do with you. And instead
I stuck with him.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
He learned, he grew, and he went on to be
a successful NFL player, and I think he runs a
couple of businesses as well now too, like a totally
successful guy post career.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
I think that's that's always the case anytime a player
gets into trouble. I felt this way at the college
level even the NFL, Like, you want them to go
away from the support system.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
How does that make any sense?
Speaker 6 (36:52):
Right?
Speaker 5 (36:53):
If you need rehabilitation, you should want them to be
around people who can help them get back on track.
Whatever the case may be. This situation a little different.
But again, I just you know, they had to do something.
That's what they ended up deciding upon. And and and
you know, million bucks is a lot of money, man.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, what else?
Speaker 9 (37:11):
In case you missed this, Ajhawk on the Pat McAfee show,
UH casually dropped that Jimmy Graham got in an accident,
got hit by a car while he was training for
his UH sale around the world and he's got a
big gash.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
How about that driving around, riding around Miami. That's how
you guys handle Thingsj's.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Breaking news now?
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Is that?
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Is that what he's doing?
Speaker 6 (37:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Where do you get the news from?
Speaker 4 (37:33):
I don't know a lot of soelth Florida. You know
he was there with a lot of self Florida sources.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
