I don't know that I rolled the dice on this one.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
They just maybe curious next time, you know, we we

It's the truth. Damn it's rude. But the vampires in Texas?
Where are you?
Speaker 5 (02:33):
I don't even want to ask y'all. Y'all got an
inside bit going right now. I don't you know what
it is. I don't know what it is. So you know,
it's fine.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
No, there's no bit.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I texted you.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I told you it was a dicey little car ride
get into the studio today.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
So I didn't even check my my text messages. Yeah
damn ye, so yeah, right.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
That happens.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
My bad.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
But but made the flight right. Everything's everything was good. No, No,
that was a.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Whole separate story. I mean, that could have been an FSR.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I R it was.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
It was one of those where I was trying to
make a certain time and you know, to get to
Las Vegas for something, and unfortunately, because of de icing. Man,
I'm telling you, de icing takes forever at some of
these airports, that caused me to miss the connection, and
(03:23):
then I was basically stuck.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
In a particular airport for the rest of the day.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
So it is what it is. Thankful, blessed to be,
you know, blessed to be out here. But yeah, no,
it was it was the ride here was a little
bit crazy. I'll just leave it at that.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, well, I don't know skeet in Las Vegas. Sometimes
you know, hey, look.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Man, this time of morning, we're a super Bowl. That's
just the way that town rolls. Like, that's just you know,
when you're trying to get to do the show in
the two am hour to for a three am local
star time, that's just the way they roll.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Man.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
People are up.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Hearing a lot of complaints about the in affordability now
of Las Vegas, so that that is like a consistent theme.
Doesn't matter who picks you up, they'll start talking about it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Like, I don't know what it want me to do
about it. I mean, we people still keep coming out
here for conventions and.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Work, man. I mean I I don't know what I
want me.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
To tell you. Is it like what cost of a
living or just everything?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah, I just know, like what we've talked about before
you know, they charge for every now you know, parking drinks,
when you're gambling, even the buffets are more expensive, and
just it's hard for you know, it's made people to
come back out and afford it.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Oh no, now I'm up to speed. Okay, are you
at the same studio?
Speaker 4 (04:38):
No different one? It's again. Would have would have been
nice because that was even even closer to m hm,
well sin city man. Just try not sinning easy for anybody.
I get in and I get out. All work, all right.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
On the subject of the NFL, no feel and yeah,
no feelings, not for long. This was kind of speculated
about following the combine that maybe there was a move
that was going to be made, and there was a
move that was made, as David Montgomery of the Detroit
Lions was traded to the Houston Texans in exchange for
(05:20):
offensive lineman Juice Scruggs and two draft picks, a twenty
twenty six fourth round pick this year and then next
year a seventh round pick, which we'll probably get traded
around two or three more times, and then that'll be
featured in my bottom mock ten draft that we'll do
next year.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
But that is the move.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
It felt like they were heading in this direction. Montgomery's
got a year left on his deal. Jamir Gibbs is
clearly the guy. So Detroit probably feels like we can
get younger, we can get cheaper in the draft of
that position for a complimentary back. But the Houston Texans
do get some help at running back, which they desperately needed.
Nobody seems to know what the hell's going on with
Joe Mix and it appears that he's most likely going
(06:02):
to get released based on reports. It was not available
at all last year. There was wild speculation about what
was really going on with him. And so you had
Woody Marx, you had Nick Chubb, which was not a
lot of help for the Houston Texans quarterback CJ.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Stroud.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
So it feels like makes some sense provide some assistance
and some help to the Texans and their running attack.
And now the Detroit Lions are most likely probably going
to attack this themselves in the draft to find somebody
to be the next in line to help out Jamier
Gibbs in that backfield as well too.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
I get this for Detroit. You draft capital in return,
and you're moving on with the player you feel like
is the better player, you want to give more touches,
So it makes sense, you know, you don't have to
divide carries with David Montgomery.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
How does this make as much sense for the Texans?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
I feel like they've done this a number of times
under Nikassia, their general manager, that they go to a
veteran running back. And again we have Pete prisco on
and he will tell you running backs grow on trees.
He's unfortunately pound that into my brain to the point
where now I do question saying, like David Montgommer's had
(07:13):
a lot of carries, a lot of wear and tear.
He's a veteran. He comes in and immediately you know,
you know he can do his job. But how does
this make as much sense for the Texans? Like why
would they use a mid round pick or something to
go with a guy who'll be younger, who they could
maybe get more out of the long run as opposed
to giving up that draft capital to a team that's
(07:33):
you know, still very much much in the mix. I
know it's in a different conference. I just it doesn't
make as much sense to me for the Texans as
it does for the Lions.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
I battle with myself on the idea that running backs
are a dime a doesen't I battle with myself and listen,
there are a lot of talented running backs out there.
What you don't have a lot of our talented dual
duo backs. When you have talented dual backfields, it makes
(08:11):
for a more productive season by one of those guys.
Somebody emerges, another one may play the background, one may
re emerge, the other one.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
May take a backstep to that.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
And it seems to one keep a healthy a healthy
level of internal, you know, competition, But I think it
also is a way to keep your guys, you know,
playing at a high level throughout the course of a season.
Now he's dealt with with an mcl injury out at
(08:49):
some point, a couple injuries during his career, but for
the most part, I mean, Montgomery has been a reliable,
solid back for this team. I just think this, this
this doesn't to me, And I know I always sound
like I'm negative, But when you start disrupting the fabric
of what makes a team a team, then now you're
(09:13):
going down the lane where there's uncertainty as to possibly
and potentially what they could be. If Jamiir Gibbs is
the full time guy, which he will be the full
time guy this year without having that change up back.
They are very different styles, contrasting styles in the way
they run. One is more powerful in between the tackles
(09:36):
while the other one is a more coast to coast,
big play, explosive player. If he has to go in
there for the duration and the load of what's going on,
or you get a backup that isn't as effective as
Montgomery was and how he was able to run the
ball and beat the defense up and soften the belly.
(09:56):
Maybe Jamir Gibbs isn't as productive as he's in being
with Montgomery in the backfield. That would be my biggest
concern for Detroit And I just wonder does this signal
a slight I won't say a total rebuild because it's
just this is their first year not having the type
of success that they need it, But I mean they
(10:19):
finished last in their division, So does this signal a change?
I think that that would be my biggest question is
not what did you get out of it? Where are
you trying to go? What are what is your maneuvering
here for? And it would would assume you would assume
it was the lack of results that they were able
(10:40):
to get last year.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
From the Detroit side of things.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, yeah, Look, Dan Campbell alluded to it, you know,
and you made mention of this yesterday that you know,
you can't who knows if you'll ever get back to
this point again. And if you just look at the
Lions on a two year run, they went from you know,
basically the same old Lions. Got some momentum because they
beat Green Bay on the on the season finale in
(11:06):
week eighteen or week seventeen, whatever it was the year before,
and then they come to the next year, they get
to the NFC title game, they got an opportunity to
beat the Niners. Dan Campbell, you know, turns into Dan
Gamble again. They lose that game. Then they're hosting a
playoff game against Washington and lose the very next year.
(11:27):
And then you see this year, and I just wonder
if that was because everybody's windows a little bit differently,
if maybe that really was their peak, because now you
are starting to change the success of the team. Players
are starting to get paid. Ben Johnson is gone, you know,
Aaron Glenn's gone. It'll probably be back anyways. There's there's
(11:49):
like all of the like what you had there in
a bottle was broken open by a tough loss in
an NFC title game and Washington pulling off an upset
in which Detroit was melting down at home in a
playoff game, And I just, yeah, I do wonder if
that's just the way the league works. You've got your time,
(12:10):
you've got your opportunity. If you don't cash in. There
are teams like the Chiefs that have staying power. There
are teams like the Patriots that have had staying power.
The Bills seem like they're always in the mix, but maybe,
you know, Detroit's like a Cincinnati where hey, man, you
had your chance, you were at the in the super
Bowl with an opportunity, you didn't cash in, and this
(12:30):
is just going to become your reality moving forward. And
then from the Houston side, I don't know, man, I
just think think about it. They don't trust CJ.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Stroud.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I mean, we got to find a running game. Our
defense is a hell of a defense. We should have
been hoisting a super Bowl trophy if CJ.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Stroud didn't sell us, if we had a real run game,
we might have won the super Bowl this year. And
they wouldn't be wrong, not with that defense. Get your
running back kids, you were running gay and they tried
to get it with mixed. Like we said, his health
has been bad.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
But I looked at it more as they needed to
give him some help and like get a running back
back there that can help protect them, that can help
be a check down, a dump down, something like that.
I mean, they moved on from Titus Howard, they traded
him for the Brown, so clearly they didn't feel like
he was the answer helping to protect him. But I
thought there was an element of just protecting c. J.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Stroud. Maybe you're right, maybe it is helping him out too.
I also was thinking about it.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
But both you don't think one have to be false
for the other to be true on that that statement, right, the.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
New offensive coordinator in Detroit, remember that John Morton last year,
Drew Petsing is now going to take over, and I
just I look at maybe the style of the coordinator too,
and what they're looking to build on offense and how
it may differ from what they had before Ben Johnson.
I mean, Jonas you follow the Bears, I mean, you
know how they kind of had a two back system
with DeAndre Swift and Kyle Manunguy, so you know that
(13:59):
they're and there are very different backs in the way
they went.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
About using them.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
So I look at that and wonder how much of
the Dave of Montgomery Jamiir Gibbs combination and what each
back did and the value that they experienced in Detroit
together was the personality of who was calling the plays,
you know, versus now you've got, you know, again, a
running back who's going to go to the Houston Texans.
(14:23):
Maybe David mont can be a future back or not,
and maybe he fits that role for what they're looking
for in Houston, but for what Drew Petsing wants to do,
he's probably saying, I need to get Jamiir Gibbs as
many touches as possible when he's in the prime of
his career like this. And you know, as much as
I like having David Montgomery, we still feel like we
might be missing out on a few explosive plays because
(14:44):
he's not in he's not touching the football, so there
never should be a time when he comes off the
field or very seldom, you know. I wonder how much
that plays a factor too, is they are trying to
reinvent themselves, at least offensively, as we saw now the
impact that the absence of Ben Johnson had that offense.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
I kind of under I guess undervalued the impact of
Ben Johnson leaving because it was like, I know, they're
getting a different play caller, but you know, still there's
a lot of talk at this point, and then it's
it's really obvious that you I mean, you saw Dan
Campbell start calling plays last year at one point because
of what was going on, and it just became really
(15:22):
obvious that there was really something missing there because that
the Bears turned into what the Lions had turned into
in games like in Philadelphia when they went in there
on that Black Friday game and just ran the ball
down their throat and just continued to run the ball.
It wasn't a you, They were just going to throw
it around. It looked like the Lions previously two different backs,
(15:46):
but it looked like a lot of Ben Johnson and
the success Detroit had. He brought that to Chicago, and
I just I wonder if in the long run, we're
going to look back at that move and go, man,
maybe that was a secret.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Ingredient They had a man they had a balance running
attack and and it kept things. It kept things honest
for the Detroit Lions, they were able to benefit from it,
and they did not have that balance this year. They
had great plays, big plays from Jamiir Gibbs, but they
(16:19):
did not achieve the balance that they were able to
under under Ben Johnson. And I mean again, I'm not
saying doom and gloom. I'm not saying this is the end.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
But but.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
Detroit's run, I'm not saying Montgomery is the reason why.
Be clear, I'm not saying he's the reason why, but
he's part of the total sum of the reason why.
There's there could be the strong possibility with the improvement
to steady improving of the division that they're in, that
(16:54):
their window has gotten a whole lot closer to not
being open.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Yeah, if and Britty, you mentioned the Titus Howard trade
as well too. If you're the Texans and you've traded
away forty percent of your offensive line already in the
off season, is that an indication that maybe they felt
like that was something they needed to.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Get better at. I maybe there's no no. I think
maybe there's sick.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Maybe there's a you're rid of them almost maybe there's
a you know, maybe there's a tell there that they
might be attacking the offensive line, which there's five over
they how do you get to fifty right half of
the line.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Probably you get an arm and a leg somewhere in there.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
And this is why too. I think when you look
at where the organization's out with CJ. Stroud there's a
commitment there. I think they know they're going to have
to extend him. I think for people who think that
there's concerns, I think they think he's a franchise guy,
and I think they're trying to set this thing up
so they can protect him better, they can give him
a better run game, and they can help make their
(18:04):
way through the AFC South and try to make their way.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
To a super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
I feel like that's where they feel like this team
is that the defense is the defense. You knew, you know,
Demiko was gonna, you know, build up this team on
that side of the ball. But I feel like they're
probably listening to c J. Strouds and like, I need
more protection, I need better help. Any Don't get me wrong,
he struggled, but he has been under a lot of duress.
I mean, it's not like it's been the best protection
(18:29):
since he's been there. So a lot of these offseason moves,
I think they're setting up, you know, for this to
be a season that that's a big year for Houston,
but also for CJ. Stroud and and him cashing in.
As good as that defense is, they got to be
a run first team. You cannot you cannot throw games
away or just depend on the arm of any quarterback.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
But who's a run first team?
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Now?
Speaker 4 (18:52):
I think there's still some run football almost sixty percent
of the time. Yeah, they might throw more, but I
still think that Georgia Tech, there are still teams that
that subscribe to the run being the major piece of there. Like,
I don't think that sixty percent just because of sixty
percent that they still don't think run first. Like I
think the Patriots was a run first team. I think
(19:14):
the both teams that were in the Super Bowl were
run first team. I think the Texas want to be
a run first team. Hell I think I think that
the Troy Lions want to be a run first team.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
There are a lot of run first teams. The reason
why Tomlin and the Steelers weren't as effective as they
needed to be in years past recently is because they
weren't they weren't.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Able to be a run first. There's Lvar's opinion. Yeah,
then there's the truth.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
It's an opinion.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
We have any little game searcher music, there.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
We go, all right, all right?
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Who is the number one team in rush attempts for
the twenty twenty five season.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
I'm not I'm not entertaining this game because at the
end of the day, even if you're a run, if
you've run the ball a lot, doesn't make.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Okay, how do you define run first? Then? Before you
ruin our game show?
Speaker 2 (20:08):
How do I don't want to ruin your I don't
want to ruin I just don't want to take part
of it.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Okay, don't don't? Yes? Good? Yeah good? I'm going to
go Baltimore the Philadelphia Eagles. See, LaVar should have played?
LeVar should have played? Lvar. You were right.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
The number one rush team was the Baltimore Ravens last season.
Do you know what percentage of rushes that was for
the play calls?
Speaker 1 (20:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
They are the highest in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah, but he doesn't get he doesn't get any points,
so that he should be docked points.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Because he cut in line. It was my turn to go.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
But you said team every other team in the NFL
through the football when they ran at Philadelphia is actually
six in the list. They ran the football about forty
seven and a half times.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
I think you have have to throw the ball the
amount of times that you have to because the other
teams are throwing the ball the amount of time like
I don't. I don't think that in consideration of It's
almost like the three point shot when Steph Curry started making.
You might still be a go to the rim team
in theory personality wise, but you might have to develop
(21:20):
and shoot more threes because they're hitting more threes. It's
it's an evolution and evolving of how you adjust and
adapt to trying to be competitive. But that doesn't mean
that you're still you're not a run first team. Just
because your percentage is lower, you still may be trying
to establish the run for I think those.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Stats we can we can we can have this debate.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
I think you would have to.
Speaker 5 (21:44):
I think you would have to dig deeper into the
stats and look at what are the percentages of runs
on first down? What are first down? What is the
percentage of runs on first down. That would establish I
would you second down then and potentially second down potentially you're.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Assuming be just going to throw a third down. And
what you're missing out on the teams. Teams that are
trailing have a high percentage of trailing, they're gonna throw
the football more because they have to get back into it.
You can't run as much. So that's correct. For example,
there's on our Cardinals they strolled a lot. They threw
it last year more than anyone. That's also because they
had some issues at running back. There's also some other
(22:21):
issues as well. But a lot of the teams that
that's struggling out you could we can say that. But
the Rams, for example, they threw the football about what
would that be fifty eight percent of the time. So
there's there's a good example of teams that were actually
good that through the football when they ran it. But
most teams in the NFL now are throw first teams.
(22:42):
They're not run first anymore. That's the major of the league.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
You should be a lawyer, especially because you you moved
the goalposts on conversations and you get to the conclusions
and the way you deliver it sounds really convincing. But
that's not to me. You say truth versus what the
reality of it is.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Again, well, there's your opinion and then there's like the facts.
Now all that and that's that's there, and you can
keep having it. Lev's opinion, here's what the truth.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Here's what I know.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
There's Levar's opinion in Brady's truth. You have a very
I'm just going out with that. Would you call him
the Johnny Cochrane.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
No, because he's no, because his voice doesn't come across
as a minority voice. It's a very trusting majority voice.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
I'm not sure that's supposed to me.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
You know, I know you're American, white.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
And Johnny Cochran got done it for the ones.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Granger offers access to products and the scale delivered when

They're never far away, even glove sometimes call Clickgranger dot.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Com or just stop by. If it doesn't fit, you
must have quit. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports, the Global Donald Journey,
LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox and Whitey with you here on
a Tuesday morning.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Hi guys, why Quinn trust what I'll say? Sound believable.
That's the driver who took me.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you. Coming a fifteen minutes from now, We're
gonna tell you about one team who may be getting
a little bit desperate to try and draw an audience
in the world of sports. That'll be yours right here
on Fox Sports Radio. But right now it is time
(25:49):
for the tire Rak Play of the Day.
Speaker 9 (25:52):
We have a technical foul on Trey Young for running
on the court and he has been.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Ejective, oh wow wow. Can't give up.
Speaker 9 (25:59):
Report though following Houston and the play is being reviewed
to see if it's potentially play ground Trek hasn't even
played a game yet for the Wizards Space City Home network.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
On the call, that is your tire Ract Play of
the Day. For over forty years, Tyrack's been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Shipped fast and freedback by Free Road has a protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, Tire rack
dot com the way tire buying should be. And a
congratulations to Tray Young of the Wizards. Yeah yeah, that
(26:31):
a baby.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
How you can get fout of your day off? That's crazy.
I can't come on the court argue calls. Hasn't even
played yet, already got ejected out of the game. Can
I ask this about Trey Young?
Speaker 4 (26:47):
I feel like he came into the NBA as the
second coming, or at least was billed as the second
coming of Steph Curry.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Is that fair? Yeah? Hasn't exactly gone the way we thought.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
And I know it took Steph Curry a little while
befo for he became Steph Curry. And by the way,
no one's gonna doubt Tree Jung's talent. But why in
your minds has he not come together the way they thought?
Speaker 3 (27:14):
And this leak's built for him, right? I mean it's
it is a.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Three point shooting, spread it out, you know, that's where
the game is. It literally plays into his skill set
and into his hand.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
We'll never see another Steph Curry. So if they if
he was being built up to be the next Steph Curry,
that's that's that's strike number one two and three already,
Like you can compare the dude, and and he's got
great handles, he's he's been pretty good in terms of
distribution of the ball. He can score. He developed a
(27:49):
nice reputation in Atlanta. But he's not he's not he's
not even an A level He's not an A level
talent in in the league. He's really good, and he's
had really really bright moments, but there's not a level
of consistency and there's not a level of dominance connected
(28:11):
to his game where he impacts games on a on
a regular basis like us Steph Curry. I mean, he's
also Steph Curry. Also, I think had a better infrastructure
than Trey Young.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
That's that's fair.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, that's that's Atlanta has been a bit of a
mess for a long time. Now, that's a good call.
This actually surprised me because look, we went to that.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Same infrastructure, the same team, had the same players, Trey
Young still with pale in comparison to Steph Curry. Just
and that's Levard's opinion. That that's probably not truth, but
that's Levard's opinion.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Is that a sensitive fine sensitive?
Speaker 1 (28:54):
No? No, I just like that's odd. I love and
sing back things. What was it in reference to him the
last segment.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Yeah, get ball. But that's that's what Q does. Q
Q hits me with. There's the truth and then there's
levard's opinion.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I'm just hay other stats. Dude.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
You don't have to get upset because I'm upset what
it says.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Bro Listen, that's a misleading stat But to everybody out there,
go go with the misleading stat and and and love
and love and live with it.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Can I give you a can I give you Let
me just throw this out there.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Four time All Star he was, he was runner up
for Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
I just want to be clear. I'm not making the
case that he hasn't had a good career. That add
is a good career thus far throughout the course of it.
I think people tend to forget how good he was
coming out of Oklahoma. Sure, I mean he averaged twenty
seven points a game, about nine assists a game. I
mean he was firing shots from the logo type style
(29:55):
of play and it and again, maybe you're right, maybe
it is the infrastructure around Atlanta, given given some of
the decisions they've made, and in particular of late you
know it was a Magic City night though.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Oh yeah, we got enough that by the way it happened,
things outside of the ground, not everybody players. You had
to cancel that.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
But here's here's why I thought you guys were going
to say Kyrie Irving, he would be more of a
comparison to Kyrie than to Steph Curry.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Well kind of. I don't think that it took it
to the rack like that. I don't feel like that
was his game, took it to the whole. It was
a slasher. He was more of a He's a jump shooting,
jump shooter slasher.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
If there was if there was no Steph Curry, Trey
Young would be viewed completely different because if you just
look at his numbers and and the natural instinct is
to compare him to Steph Curry and and I totally
get it, and it's fair. But if you just looked
at his numbers, if you looked at his numbers, Tray
Young third all time in assists per game. He trails
(31:04):
I think John Stockton and Magic Johnson. He's for h
Steph Curry because because it's a different and Steph Curry's
not on that list. Steph Curry is A score is
a score, but it's not like Trey Young can't score.
The guy's averaging twenty six a game for his career.
Like he's had a really, really, really good career, but
(31:25):
he'll never compare to Steph Curry. And so because there's
always going to be that comp he's never going to
be able to live up to that.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
He's just not going to.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
And it doesn't like he's had a wonderful career, but
I think the Steph Curry being present and playing at
the same time is going to completely overshadow whatever trade.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Andrey Young is going to be a Hall of Famer. No,
he won't, Yes he will. You don't think Trey Young's
going to be a Hall of Famer. No, Ben Wallace
was a Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
He's got championships, like three of them, like big time,
big time basketball played by Ben Wallace. I think Ben
Walls has one title, maybe one, and you know that's
more than one.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
And he's like an eight point game score two two titles.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
Yeah, but he rebounded and he played defense also with
the with the Basketball Hall of Fame as points, as
Ben Maller likes to point out, Muffett McGraw was in
UH is in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
All Right, we get there.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
The drums ready, here we go, let's go, there we go.
How many championships has Ben Wallace one?
Speaker 1 (32:34):
I thought he had at least two? Is only one?
Speaker 3 (32:37):
It's just one?
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Do you go four?
Speaker 4 (32:39):
But didn't they get two or three? And he was
also he was no, he was also a fourth time
they went to one. Young is already at that point,
maybe I wanted them to win more. I really liked
that team.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
They were fun to.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
It was Allawn Prince Sayshawn Prince, Chauncey Billups, Chauncey point
Rip Hamilton. Yeah, the Wallace boys, Darko, I have all
their there.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
I have game warn sneakers from all of them, Darko Milicic.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I believe he was.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Jonas would I think he? I think he drove Brady
to the studio this morning from the State.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
That's for debate. I just I've never seen a Russian
Russian license plate in UH.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
In America, the States. I mean, how does that clearly
mentioned if I been kidnapped? Where are we going here?
Speaker 5 (33:30):
WHOA, that's that diplomat, that's that diplomat status? You got
that that PJ.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
He might have been. I surely wasn't.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
You know that.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
What's funny about the going back to that Pistons team.
The only reason they took Darko in the draft, Oh God,
is there we go now? Is because Carmelo Anthony was
there and they felt like they already had somebody playing
the same position, and it was I think it was
Tayshawn Prince was the guy was already there in Detroit,
(34:02):
and they felt like, well, we'll draft by need and
not my best, but not by best available, and so
they took Darko, who never really mapped out or panned out,
but it was that Ultimately Detroit won the title and
Carmelo didn't.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Ever win one.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah he's a Hall of Famer, Oh yeah, one hundred
percent he should be.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
But if they would have drafted Tree Young, I don't.
I don't think he's a Hall of Famer today. I
don't think he's a Hall of Famer for four time.
I think you will be by the end of his career.
I don't know, man, I think.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Its overcome that at the Wizards, especially, you're getting objected
from games you're.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Not playing in.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Maybe I'm I mean, maybe I'm not trying to be
a hater.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
But maybe I am.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
I mean, maybe I need to acknowledge the fact that
I have I don't have any reason to hate him.
I don't think that there's no he's never been the
guy in the league. He's never been the guy like
when you talk about all of the guy like.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
I mean for Atlanta, he was the time for Atlanta. Well, yeah,
trying to be a guy for a team.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Yeah, yeah, that doesn't make you.
Speaker 4 (35:10):
By by the way, that's not the bar for for
a Hall of Famer in in the NBA. Just to
be clear, like that's not the bar if that's what
you're thinking, this is it ain't that in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
If Deon's not happy with the Hall of Fame credentials
that are currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
go look at the NBA.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
You've never said when you talk about the upper echelonce
of players in the league, his name is not a
name that pops like, it's not coming up.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
He's he was. I mean, you can't be an All
star that Look, I'll say this, that is one league
where when you were an All Star, you were an
All Star like does not, that does not. There are
a lot of all Stars that are not in the
Hall of Fame a lot, a lot.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
So if he gets to like eight or nine all Stars,
well that's a little different. That's a little four now. Yeah,
that's four is and that's not enough. That's what Ben
Wallace had. Yeah, but he has ring. He has a ring,
a ring. He has a ring, a ring that still matters.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I'm not I'm just saying you're making a case for
force not enough. You've just made a case for guys
in with four that's different. There, there is different. He's different, man,
He's twenty different.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
It's different, twenty five people differently, he's twenty five and
ten for his career.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Yeah, I don't see him as a Hall of Famer,
and y'all could be disappointed when he doesn't get that call.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Not today. He's not a Hall of Famer today for four.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
Four all star appills putting a jacket on him right now,
the Hall of Famer when it's all said and done.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
Yeah, okay, I guess we just see the world differently,
which is fine, and we're seeing it super classes have
full you know, I guess, man, my glass is full.
I don't need it to be half full, half empty.
It's my glass is overflowing. But I just like to
feel like I live in reality. That's all. Well, I
(37:14):
don't know where y'all live.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
Well, we're going to live in another edition of In

sports or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed it.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
And we have an update.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
And the story of Magic City Night, which we talked
about on this show last week, where the Atlanta Hawks
come on. We're hosting Magic City Night.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (38:37):
The Atlanta Hawks are having lemon pepper wings, They're having
all the goods that come along with magic, seedy. I
don't know about the women, but the Orlando Magic are
going to be in town. And so because of that,
the Hawks realize, you know, why don't we take advantage
of this and really showcase one of our fine establishments.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
And apparently with TI set to perform.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
There, I believe, and I've been told again according to reports,
is this TI you're currently listening to. If you're on
the podcast, you know I missing much. But Luke Cornett
of the San Antonio Spurs wrote on his Medium account quote,
(39:20):
the NBA should desire to protect and esteem women, many
of whom work diligently every day to make this the
best basketball league in the world. We should promote an
atmosphere that is protective and respectful of the daughters, wives, sisters, mothers,
and partners that we know and love.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Allowing this night.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
To go forward without protest would reflect poorly on us
as an NBA community, specifically in being complicit and the
potential objectification and mistreatment of women in our society.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
He's clearly never been to a strip club or sees
the lifestyle of a stripper.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
Yeah, and I got news for you.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
He's very judgmental and off base. I mean, because all
of them, you're all for this. Well, no, I'm not
saying I'm not one way or the other on it.
I'm just saying, don't act like strippers are different than anything.
He just explained. In fact, they're exactly what it is.
What was the words that were used in his letter?
(40:21):
Think about it? Read it again, the mother's what what
was it? A mother's daughters? Wives?
Speaker 2 (40:27):
You know, are they're not mother daughters wives on the
bull And by the way, you know, it's not like
you know, people are being held against their will.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
You know, an exotic dancer is the term I prefer man.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
An adult dancer. I mean can't you just say that?
Or maybe a private dancer strippers money.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Yeah, like you acting like these people are like aliens,
like you're bringing in lepers or something like that.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Was a private dancer.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
He's dancers of money.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
These castes like these Catch is making seven eight figure
percent in the game.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Cat, what you're talking is a private dancer.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
They're diversifying their portfolios, owning, owning properties, flying on pj's.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
And it's also Magic City.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
I mean it's you know, like the it's like comparing
the NFL to you know, some semi pro league in Indonesia.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Come on, man, what hey man, it's a different They
show them some love the NFL BA
