Speaker 1 (01:34):
And a good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Hi, Yeah, game day baby, Hi, game day?

Speaker 1 (01:40):
What LeVar?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Good morning? How you doing? What up? Sticks? Sticks?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Sticks? Q Burger and Jonas?

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
What I'm talking about? Jonas? Jonas?

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Dracula Knox.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
So I'm talking about by the way, speaking of sticks picks. Yeah,
what was the final tally of the NFL regular season?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Just know I didn't come in last. That's that's that's true.
I'm the middle of the track type of guy.

Speaker 6 (02:13):
Unfortunately, Jonas finished ten ten games below five hundred.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
What knock? None of it counted. Dang came back, LeVar
came back.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
He was closed. He was sixty four to sixty nine,
a little bit below, that's all right, And I was
like twenty games above five.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Of course you wins. The great job, Brady, great job.
Thanks the Burger, Burger King, uff Man, the King. I'm
gonna call C Burger. Can you know what? You know?
What you win for this? By the way, did I
tell you guys what's on the line there? Well? What
was on the line? Absolutely nothing? Do you remember when

(02:55):
that was in n c A A football or something
like that was in one of those football games where
they had you heard the announcer in the back round
and be like and the person sitting in road twenty
seat number one thirteen was part of the you win
absolutely nothing and it was in the it was in

(03:17):
the game. I always thought that was pretty fun, pretty fun.
I vaguely remember that. I think I know what you're talking about.
I think it was college football, though, well I was
in college when it was out, so of course that
was last time I really played video games. So that's
just how it's.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
It's a new season, yeah, I mean, obviously with the
postseason coming up, I'm just hoping you guys can do
it on the up and up.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
This time I'm in a bad space with this college
football playoff too. Both of my finalists are out. I
had Georgia versus Ohio State and Georgia beating Ohio State. Yeah,
I mean, buddy, I'm right there with you. I'm eliminated
as well. Yeah, Jonas is still right, bang Jonas.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I had Georgia Texas Tech and one of them didn't score.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Oh dag, So what did we talk about here?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I may as well have picked, like, you know, the
women's soccer tournament and inserted the teams there like none
of it. I'm completely eliminated. I haven't even bothered to
check because I'm so distraught over the whole thing. But
it's back tonight. And by the way, do you it's
kind of wild that it's been a year since we
were at the Orange Bowl in Miami.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Man times, it's just good times, man, good time. I mean,
can our teams deliver so we can keep them going
far though? Do you still have the red light the
red light for your back? Yes, and it's working. Can
you travel with it? Yes? I mean, now that that

(04:48):
makes far dangerous. For everything that.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Makes me dangerous, I'm not going to walk in that
lobby and never see the dinosaur walking.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Bro, I've been walking up right lately. Yeah, you're so tall,
it's crazy. I've been walking straight lately. It's it's been amazing.
You know what's crazy? Sir, Sir, you can't sleep there.
You can't sleep there. I looked at him, like I
can't even say the words I said this man.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
By the way, I walked over like, oh, we got
something going on. We had we're all ready to pop
off here, and I like I was trying to walk
over to.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Do quick see what was happening. But you you.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Completely like got up, said something that complied and just
walked right over.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
We're doing the show. Yeah, dude, I'm working, And like,
literally like twenty minutes, I think I heard you say that.
So I was like, what you're working? I walked over
to get it.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
They had like a little coffee stand out and I
walk over to get a coffee and I look and
I'm like, man, that guy's aid a rough night. And
I say to Lee, I'm like, hey, Lee, I think
that's var because you had music playing too. There was
music playing on your phone maybe, and I was like,
I think that's and I look and there's the linebacker.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
You chant.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I'm like, oh my god, it is far and he's
got like leather pants on and his belt's undone.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well there's there the middle of the pants. I mean,
I looked really good that night. Look at you when
I put my Yeah, you're touched. You're touched. Yeah, when

(06:27):
I put it on, I put it on. But but
here's the thing that the lesson to be learned and
taken from that evening is that you gotta put your
work first. I wanted to go to my room and
get at least twenty to thirty minutes of sleep, take
a quick shower, change my clothes, and get back over

(06:50):
to you know where we're doing the show. But I
knew that I did too much, and I had too
much going on that night, and that was a risk
I would not have made it to do the show.
So I went straight to the hotel and at the
at the worst, what happened, I passed out. But I knew.

(07:15):
I knew you guys had to come in, So that
was my that was my whole thing. I knew y'all
had to come in, So somebody was going to wake
me up and and there. I didn't know it'd be security.
But at least Q was there and it's like, let's
get up and let's go do the show back. Here
we go off and running off and running off and running. Man,

(07:37):
what I'm doing, I'm laying it down. Oh man? That night,
sheh that night it was really like it was really
a good time in our lives last year at the
Orange Bowl. Yeah, and things have changed now. Neither one
of us had any you know, playoff games to go to.

(08:00):
I mean, and I'm sitting at home.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Penn State got eliminated, Notre Dame got eliminated, and Lee
got eliminated.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
So wow, three three are missing from from last year.
I don't know why you You did that for your
your trolls on social that's what you did. You did
that for dotted Line Come get there, your ole FA blame.
I blame ESPN and that damn dog that we keep

(08:27):
seeing on TV. Hey dog, it is. But that's why
I blame. Thanks for giving your trolls like some some ammunition.
Come on down. It's not like they're not going to
put where is he at anyway? World for business? I'm
just glad it's on your feed. That being said, it

(08:48):
is here.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
I don't know, are we getting the Quinn's wins for
the for the game tonight and tomorrow. How are we
going to split this up? Are you banging up both?

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Sure? Why are you banging up both both? Today? Angle?

Speaker 6 (09:01):
I bang out both, Bangle good too. I got one
tonight one tomorrow. Yeah, we'll do them then.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Okay, But then you've been really stressing about going. Here's
the reality is.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
I can't help the fact that I just whooped your
ass in the NFL picks, and now you're trying to
dictate to me when I get to do my picks.
I'm just asking the question you've been let me just
giving you the answer you've been protecting that I had
one to beat it up. I'm over five hundred. I'm
two to two picks over five hundred.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Welcome to the club, dude. No one cares about whatever
you're doing on Saturdays. What are you talking about?

Speaker 6 (09:37):
No one knows what you're talking about. You bring it
up on our show. No one cares. Knox locks. Knox
locks is there. I just got over five hundred for
the first time in my life. Not true, that's one
hundred percent. Tro That is the one of the biggest
reasons why I miss lead too. Is because he would
stand up for it and say, yeah, over the years, Jonas,
you're the worst gambler we've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Dang, I uh, well for five hundred, well over five hundred.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
And hopefully you can hold onto that streak and you
can hold onto that record. You're not well over five hundreds.
We just you literally just had this conversation the other day.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Two games over five hundred is well over five hundred. Okay,
just see you know, but you told me you were one,
so I'm not sure where that extra one came in there.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, I didn't realize that was even better than I thought.
I want Miami to win it, do you do you tradition?

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Can we actually talk about the game football? I think
it's great for football if Miami wins.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Yeah, okay, this is this is actually interesting, all right,
So let me let me on that note ask this
question then Old Miss obviously the other team involved, like
old myths. If Old Miss wins in a way, is
it kind of enabling what's happening in college football in
what way?

Speaker 1 (10:54):
In what regard? In that way?

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Like us, we're basically saying, like, well, what is like
like there's no penalty to a team that has their
head coach, and part of their coaching staff, has their
offensive coaching staff, just.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Leave like before they start the playoff.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
There's no penalty because the team's one Noalys semi final
game and they're going to play in the National Championship.
Even though I would argue that some would call them
America's team, Jonas's right, I would argue, I would argue
that there's a there's a lot of people rooting for them,
I think because of the storyline behind it. But I
look at it and just say, is it kind of

(11:32):
almost like, well, yeah, it doesn't matter if the coach leaves,
like look what Old Miss did, which is a very
rare circumstance for things to play out.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
The way it has. If I'm Miami, if I'm any
team and the playoff and I'm looking at Old Miss
and I'm like, you know, their staff is left. Hey,
guy left clearly is good enough where he got paid
to kings ransom. I'm line up all my coaches and
be like, if we lose, you're out of here. If

(12:03):
we lose, you're out of here. If we lose, you're
out of here. Fireing squad, And if we lose, I'm
out of here, and because us as a starting group
can't beat the backups, and on one of the biggest
stages in all of sports, we don't deserve to be here.
I'm just telling you right now, I don't want to

(12:24):
say I don't want to say exchange any pleasantries with
that interim coach. I don't, I don't don't say hi
to me, don't have a good game, none of that.
I'm a body slam yacht to fifty like. That's that's
the mentality I'm on. If we lose the ole miss,
that means that we're not starting starting caliber coaches. And

(12:46):
I'll really lean into that. I really would so. So
the other part of the conversation is.

Speaker 6 (12:53):
What Lane Kiffin lee for if this team wins and
then goes on to play for a national chanceampionship. I
can think of two now examples of coaches who left
respective universities because they didn't feel like they had a
chance of winning a national championship. And then your team
go and wins one, and the.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Team goes and well, not wins, but they go.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
At least play for one a few years later, one
of which is now fired, no no longer anywhere.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
He went to l s U and Brian Kelly and
the now the other one's Lane Kiffin that's weird.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
And meanwhile his team is one game away for playing
for one And if I SU, I'm like, why did
we just paid this man all that money?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
They still winning? Maybe that may don't don't let it
be We won in spite like it was a day
won in spite of type deal. Don't don't. Don't let
it become it was the supporting cast that was the
reason why they lost or why they won, why we
hired this bad If I'm gonna let you, I'm nervous.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
We're also starting to realize too, Like you know, Charlie
Weis junior obviously has been calling the plays. Pete Golding
talked about it. You heard others talk about it. I
believe Kirby Smart talked about it. He's like, it's it's
his offense. He's like everyone the wrong. Yeah, he's well,
I'm not even going that far insane that because Charlie

(14:21):
weis junior after this is going to.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
LSU with Lane Kiffey. Okay, well then they should be
all right.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
Then, well, and that's where they've they've been all right, which,
by the way, just to give you a peak behind
the scenes. This is some inside intel as to Charlie
Weiss Junior, the ocate at Ole miss and what he
has been doing, really doing two jobs at once right now.
So apparently after they won the initial h was you know,

(14:48):
opening round, first round of the playoffs, uh, the day
one portal opened up, so excuse after they be Georgia.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
After the be Georgia. In preparation for this, he has been.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
Like game planning for Miami in the mornings, but then
having to fly back to Baton Rouge for different portal
visits QB prospects, et cetera. And then flying back to
Ole miss to be there in the morning for practice
and preparation, and then flying back down for these portal
visits throughout the course of the week. So pretty much
every single day he has been going back and forth

(15:24):
between Oxford, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge game planning, practice, installs,
preparation for the next day, and then going down to
bad Ruge for the meetings, coming right back up.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
If I lose to that, I don't deserve to be
here getting paid to do what I do.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
Well, let's talk about the game, because I think one
of the things that everyone's seen so far from Miami
that they recognize is how good the front has been really.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Both trying to side.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Yeah, the offensive line is massive mass.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Mark Fletcher and the rest of the think. They've run the
football well.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Protected Beck for the most part, and they've made plays
right Malachai, Tony's a playmaker.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
CJ.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Daniels playmaker. They've They've got guys who can step up
make plays on the outside. My concern for Miami is
it's twofold. It's Beck and what he does when he's
under pressure. He wasn't asked to do a lot in
the last game. And even though he didn't put his
team at harm's way and he used his legs to

(16:26):
run pick up extra yards, you know, not make a
bad play worse. There were times where I was like, well,
they don't really have to I don't really have to
like lean on him to make some huge throws in
this one. I think this matchup is different. I think
they're going to have to score some points. Old miss
that at times they played a breakneck pace. They rush

(16:48):
the crap out of Keiwan Lacy is one of the
best running backs that we probably haven't talked about enough
this season.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Trinidad Chelms their quarterback.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
He can towed the rock too, so he's part of
that and he's been phenomenal throughout the course as the
season's gone on. So I kind of look at what
we're seeing right now, and I think Miami's gonna have
the score points if Mary Christobal thinks he's gonna be
able to just play this knockdown, drag out fight like
we've seen him play before, whether it's versus Texts and

(17:18):
Am or whatever you want to point to, even Ohio State,
Like I just I don't see that type of game.
I think Miami's gonna have to play with old miss
and it's going to be a higher scoring affair. And
so then now you go to the defensive side of
the ball and you say, all right, so what's the
biggest strength for Miami. It's the two addresses, It's banging,
it's mesador. What eliminates part of that that edge rushing ability, Well,

(17:40):
if they have to stop the run, right, you take
the attack to them. And the other thing is just
as far as the pace that they play, getting the
ball to the perimeter, getting the ball to the outside,
I don't know that they're going to let those guys
ruin the game. And on top of that, with Chamas's
ability to run as well, you don't want him to
get outside the play. It's going to be the difference.

(18:01):
So that slows down how they're going to rush. That
slows down how you want to pressure, the different things you.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Want to do.

Speaker 6 (18:07):
So I would say this game, even though Miami's the favorite,
my my Quinn's wins pick for this game, it's old
missing the points.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Last time I checked, John three and a half is
still at three and a half. That is correct.

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Okay, I'll take the three and a half points and
Old Miss, if you're really feeling zesty, go out there
and just lay the you know you go and take
the money line here with Old Miss. Because this is
America's team. They're playing hot right now. And as much
as I've enjoyed Miami, I think they're a very talented team.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
I worry about them being able to keep pace offensively.
I mean, we didn't get any imaging for that. Can
we get like a little and whistles to come with
that or what some Quinn's wins anything? No, all right,
wins wins. She moved their microphone about to say, you're

(19:00):
gonna do that one live. Huh, you're gonna do it live.
You didn't need to use the recording and he was
just going to do it not in studio. I am not.
You've moved that microphone and then started hearing it acapella.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
Half we maryang, Oh my god, big gang, big game.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
All right, Yeah, well it is. I would say this.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
One of the things LeVar pointed out early on was
it is cool to see Miami back in the conversation
in a big way because I think people for like,
it's hard to explain to a lot of people, you
know nowadays, like younger people, how good that program was
for so long, and just the reputation the program had,

(19:55):
so to at least see them in this spot.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
You know, I don't know whether or not Michael or
is going to be there. Oh, he's going to be there.
I mean, you know there's a camera belt. Yeah, he'll
be there.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
The belta ass on the gatorade bucket. Thing is he
has made its course, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I don't know that. I don't know that because Michael
Irvin has not run his course.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
It just has not happened yet. It is not by
the way, it is the Fiesta Bowl. So last time
he was in.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Arizona it wasn't It didn't end well. But with that
being said, maybe it does end well. And that's why
he's been, you know, having such a great time with
life right now. I just I believe that settlement is
about to be nasty because he don't care. I've never
seen him so happy, so loose, operating under the assumption, Hey,

(20:43):
that settlement is on the way. Yeah, that sort of disappeared.
Life is going to be different from here on out.
He ain't went back to work for nobody. No, nothing
makes appearance here and there has a good time, having
an amazing time at these games. Man, there's got to
be a settlement. I don't know how long that's been
going on for.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Jonathan Gannon hadn't even been hired by the Cardinals yet,
that's how long that's been going on for. And still
we don't have any Three years Yeah, long ass time.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
What do you just say? Three? His radio add a
little color to it. What is Jonathan gannet to get
just stray? I'm just letting you know, man, listen, Hey,
didn't he's doing it and looking Jonas it's like taking
fire at Jonathan Gannets, letting him know, by the way,

(21:36):
from nineteen eighty three until two thousand and three, I
believe Miami had one losing season in that span.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
So obviously that started with the national championship by Howard Schnellenberger.
Jimmy Johnson then takes over. He wins a national championship
in nineteen eighty seven to go unfeated. Dennis Ericsson takes over.
He wins a national championship in nineteen eighty nine, I
believe ninety one.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I think he won one an eighty nine and ninety one.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
Larry Coker, and then he came and got well, which
Davis actually took over next. He never won a national championship.
The closest they closed the two thousand year, and then
Larry Coker took over won it in two thousand and one.
Obviously lost in two thousand and two to Ohio State.
But that's how for people who I guess don't realize
or don't remember, that's how dominant Miami was, you know,

(22:27):
and back then, like think about their independent when they
actually went through the nineteen eighty three to like the
nineteen eighty eight season, or excuse me, they were independent thought.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
I just remember they joined the Big East.

Speaker 6 (22:38):
In nineteen ninety one and they and then they ironically
won the national championship in nineteen ninety one.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
There was also like a reputation they had. Well that's what,
that's what, that's why it's the U and like that's
the bigger conversation. It's the culture and reputation that they built.
Doors Like I.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Watched the Swamp Kings documentary and and you know, talking
about Florida and the run that Florida had, and I'm thinking.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
To myself, Man, it doesn't even compare not.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
It's like, remember the Fab five had a culture, but
Miami that was two years Miami.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Did it first. We're talking about a class kids, right.
Florida was a class of gods. This was an era
like a factory was a class of guys like U
N l V class of guys. This was this was
a yes factory. It is a culture. Yeah, they they
influenced the culture. It was either good or bad.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
What was interesting about Florida is though it was kind
of ron Zooks recruits and team.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Come on, it was kind of ron Zook's recruits team.
If you really think about it, line Yeah, Well that's
Chris Chris Leek and all those.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Guys were Yeah, they were, they were there.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Miami had everybody turned up. Man, I tell you, if you,
if you are true football fan and you haven't tried
to YouTube early nineties, late eighties, go find the thirties
thirty check it out like it is as advertised. Man,
I can't even hold him. I'm not I can't hold him.

Speaker 6 (24:15):
Well, that's the thing is, I don't know that Howard
Schnellenberger gets I think he does in South Florida, just
from living down there. I think he gets the credit
for what he had built basically that Jimmy Johnson then
took over and then you saw whether it's Dennis Erickson
or even to Larry Koker obviously, butch Davis can never
win one, even though he.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Kept them competitive.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
I think he doesn't get enough credit nationally in my opinion,
for what he built that became that in Miami. I
will say, I will go back to this quote, though
it will be wild. If Miami wins tonight and then
goes on to win the national championship. They have won
a national championship before, they've won an ACC championship, and

(24:58):
they entered and just historically they entered the ACC twenty
one years ago.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Dang, that is wild. That is that's interesting. I hope
they do, man, I think it. I mean, they're you know,
they're fan base. I have some really close friends in
in that fan base. They are I gotta I gotta
be on. They are some of the most obnoxious fans
in ever period. But that's why you love them.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Man.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
That's what's great about college football. Right. They're just so
I don't know so, but at least get what they get.
You know what. It ain't Louisiana, but they do eat
some spicy food down there in Miami. If you dig
what I'm saying, put in on some of them Cuban
dishes that that that get while I'm down there. And
if you like hotly debated topics like who's the most

(25:52):
valuable Poor, then you want to check out original Louisiana
hot sauce. That's right. It'll dress up all your eats.
Just like I just said, your nacho's, your pizzas, your gumbos,
whatever it is, that taste is going to score. So
make sure you get that VP taste with Louisiana Hot Sauce. Yeah,

(26:13):
make sure you're bat youself. It is two pros and
a cup of Joe.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you. So we are gonna have the usuals
coming up later on. We got another edition of in
case you missed it. Later on this hour, Albert Brear's
gonna stop by. We'll also have the leftovers. All of
it is yours here on this three hour extravaganza. Up next, though,
one team is making a choice and they're letting you
know things are gonna stay the same heading into next year.

(26:37):
We'll get into that for you right here on FSR. Well,
I make my choice too, and my choice is TCL. Yeah,
them TVs. Beasts, Because it all comes down to this
one game.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
We're talking about the playoffs for college Well, the playoffs
for the Lombardi Trophy have begun begun as well. That's right.
So if you're watching it at home, make sure it matters.
Make sure it's on a TCL Ultimate Series, a QM
AK or a QM nine K. This Super Bowl Football

(27:11):
game will be in the bright stadium lights. Don't you
want them to be bright in front of you at home?
Don't you want those fast cuts, big hits and bigger
debates to be better cause you can see them. Yeah,
was he in? Did he move? Was he off sides?
Did it cross the line? I don't know, but if
you have a TCL, it brings that ultimate brightness, that

(27:34):
ultimate black level, so the picture stays clean for kickoff
to final drive. It's so clear, Jonas, you can even
almost smell the fresh cut grass that you're seeing on
that football field. You'll see the balls spinning. You might
get motion sicknesses, so spinning so fast, so you see

(27:54):
that ball, take that deep shot, tow drags all that stuff.
Like what's that on his sneaker? Look at that looks
like a little bit of catchup. Was he eating food
in the locker room? That might be what you come to.
That might be the next debate. You might be like,
that could be be FERRONI you know, I don't know,
but here you know you will know that it is

(28:18):
because TCL is the ultimate way to watch these games.
And that's why you got to get the TCL Ultimate Series. YEP.
It's next best seat to being in the stadium, and
it's available at all major retailers. It's not too late.
Get there today. Tcls the official TV partner of the
NFL here for Super Bowl sixty.

dot Com the way tire buying should be. Congratulations to
Todd Bowles of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reports say he's
going to be back next year. So he will be

(30:20):
back next year. Despite the fact that the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers lost I believe seven of their last nine, Todd Bowles.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Is going to be back.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Meanwhile, Raheem Morris of the Atlanta Falcons won five of
his last seven.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
And he was fired.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
So even though John Harbaugh is out there and he's lurking,
Todd Bowles is going to be back as the head
coach of your Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So I hope you
guys are excited about that.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
Does that make him a lame duck head coach heading
into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I think it defines that, doesn't it.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Yeah, ooh, lame duck? I mean, is it not explain? Okay,
they did.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
Not finish well this season, truth and going eight to nine,
that is a losing record, even though it ties for
the division. The way they started I think led most
to believe that they underachieved in the second half of
the year. And there's probably some thought to we feel
good about what we have on our roster. Is Todd

(31:23):
Bowles then the guy to lead this roster into the
playoffs and help us win another Super Bowl? We obviously
did it with Bruce Arians and Tom Brady. Now the
question becomes is Todd Bowles the right guy? If not,
you know, we let a guy and Dave Canalis go,
who is our offensive coordinator who now won the division
and now gets to.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Play in the postseason.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
We need to bring back someone that might be able
to get this team playing at a higher level and
not fall off like that in the second.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Half the season.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Also Liam Cohen too, So now you've had, you know,
two coordinators leave that are both in the season.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Not a great look. They're aging too. You know, I
think I think Baker is he's kind of like a
I don't know, It's like, is he the guy? He's
at times shows he can be the guy, but there

(32:25):
are times where he maybe doesn't show he's the guy.
I just wonder. I feel like, if you're saying lame
duck coach, it all depends on what the core nucleus
of your roster is going into next season. And if

(32:46):
I'm saying Baker Mayfield, god Win, David Winfield, I think
Levonte David maybe done. It's okay, so and and and
I don't know. I'm just saying if if I'm projecting
out looking at potentially these being the names, are we

(33:11):
gonna throw Mike Evans in there? Like you know what
I mean? Like, is he gonna be back? That's so
what I'm saying to you is unless they have and
and and and this is why I say it comes
down to Baker, because Baker will be the one, the
one entity that is back next year at quarterback. Baker

(33:31):
Mayfield will be the quarterback of Tampa Bay. What type
of offseason will they have? And I think that will
dictate a lot as to if we come into next
season saying Todd Bowles is a lame duck coach versus
he has an opportunity to get a little bit further
than what he did. I'll say this about what this
just did.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
It's a breath of fresh air because look, and Pete
Prisco's talked about this. Yeah, they've been banged up, as
we've illustrated on this show before.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Baker Mayfield, I don't know how healthy he was this year.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
I mean, you can go back to the Rams game
where he left the game when they were getting shell ACKed,
but I think he was still banged up even going
into that game, and I don't know that he was
ever fully healthy. Mike Evans could never, you know, get
it back together after he went down with the injury.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
A mecha.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Buca miss time and he was great, Bucky Irving missed time,
he was great when he was like. So, there's like
they've drafted, well, there's been like real like talented players
that have been there. I think the organization probably looked
at this and just said, let's give him another shot
and hope that we're healthy to Whereas if you go

(34:43):
around the NFL, like some of these guys who got
clipped like they were banged up too, And.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Don't you guys believe though, don't you guys feel like
And I guess this was like in my mind what
I was trying to get to. Don't you feel like
looking at what some of these other teams are doing?
Like like Todd Bowles is a fine coach. He understands
the whole dynamic of being the CEO of a team,
like you put together the roster, help put together the roster,

(35:09):
help put together your coaching staff. He understands that he's
a fine coach. You look at some of these other
coaches that have done it, like Vrabel is the first
one that pops into my mind, and he took a
plan into this offseason and executed it. And now look
at what they're doing. I feel like if he has
a plan and he can execute it very well in

(35:30):
this off season and they do it as an organization
like this whole one year proposition is obviously on the
table these days. If there's an organization and a coach
that can do it, I think Todd Bowles would be
on a list of coaches that would actually be able
to have an offseason. I mean them keeping him says

(35:54):
to me, there's a belief in him still a value
and belief in what he brings to the table. Maybe
it's an off season that doesn't lend to the idea
that this could be like this is a one and
done season, four top bowls coming up. It could actually
be positive. Yeah, potentially potentially.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
I mean, I mean, but it also depends on like
what that looks like, right, I mean, they got it.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
I think more than anything else we learn this year,
they have to stay healthy.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
I mean, if you had reservations of Bowt Baker Mayfield,
I think there was, as Jonas pointed out, concerns over
his own health.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
But then also you know the team around him.

Speaker 6 (36:32):
It's just they never offensively really had that like healthy
team altogether.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
It was late in the season.

Speaker 6 (36:37):
I remember we're talking about this, like they hadn't had
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, a Mecca Buca and I think
Jalen McMillan all healthy at the same time. Now it
was like not until week fourteen, maybe fifteen of the season,
some ridiculous you know number like that.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Defensively, they struggled probably more than we'd like to admit.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
They were the worst in the red zone this year
in the NFL, and they had some other issues as
well throughout the course of the year, in particular in
past defense. But I think if they get back healthy,
it's the NFC South, they no doubt have a chance
to compete.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
But I do feel like.

Speaker 6 (37:12):
We're probably looking at a team that if they had
to drag things out, I don't know, there's a huge
vote of confidence for how the season ended. I mean,
if you would have asked us halfway through the year,
Todd Bowles was probably a head Coach of the Year candidate.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Oh yeah, super Bowl contender, like Baker Mayfield was. In
the MVP conversation, he was like, there was all of
that going on. And also I don't mean to bury
the lead here, but it should be pointed out. According
to Pete prisco vitave is.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Weight, yeah, yeah, they got a manag his way. That
was really the really where things went side. It was
really bad. I mean, look this team.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
I want to know what happened on the on the
bye week, That's what I want to know. And there
were six and two heading in the bye then only
won two games the rest the season. Now, ye, last,
what happened in that bye week? Where did they go
were they down in in the Tampa Bay Harbors on
the boat.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Well, tell York Giants soul over again.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Tell me what's what's in Tampa that could really get
you to God go in the wrong direction?

Speaker 1 (38:11):
What's in Tampa City? So take us a break? Okay,
all right, that's what I've heard. I don't know. I
mean that name popped out there a few times. All right,

(38:32):
is that what it's called? Is that? Is that? Looking
it up? Yeah? I believe Mon's venus is there? You go? There,
you go, there, you go. Yeah, that's that's a day. Yeah.
That that's and it's from what I hear from from
people who have visited. It's a quality, quality place that

(38:57):
could confuse or distract you from success on the football field.
A lot of people walking we're in life whose names
end with a Z. Okay, all right, what's wrong with you?

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Dude?

Around Yeah, I mean why not just take it right
to the grave? Man.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Knoxville's like if you hear him discuss his injuries, like
his concussions and stuff that he went through, like like
he had it's like a like a football player, like
he had to go see get evaluated.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
He was forgetting things like you can't grow. We used
to play jackass like during parties. Don't try this at home, kids,
I mean we we we used to like that's that
was you drink to that that show. Yeah, like you
throw the DVD on and you drink to it like
you have a good time. It's in the background. Uh,

(42:00):
it's like that painting on the wall, like you know,
you walk by like, oh, nice painting, Like are you partying?
It's like Jackass has to be on your TV playing.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
On repeat and the guys, the guys, the guy's chugging
beer in his ass then.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
They do that look at them. It was remember, don't
tell me you to try that once? When can we
get to break? It was on m t V right
