Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,

(00:02):
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming
up on this Football Friday. Of course we're talking football.
We're gonna look back on the classic fourth quarter between
Ole Miss and Miami. The U is back and they're
back in the National Championship Game. But who are they
gonna be playing? Will it be Indiana? Will it be Oregon.
We've got Quinn's wins coming up later on. We're also
going to talk about some changes taking place in the NFL,

(00:25):
and especially in the state of Florida. The Miami Dolphins
have decided, you know what, Mike McDaniel, upon further review,
you're out of here. But when did they come to
that conclusion? That's the real debate. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
have got a bunch of changes going on for them
as well, too. Plus we're gonna look ahead to the
wild card weekend in the NFL with our picks against
the spread. We've got another edition of In case you

(00:46):
missed it, and we've got the leftovers. It's all yours
coming up next here, Two Pros and a cup of
Joe in a Football Friday, Fox Sports Radio, and we
are off been running here on this Friday morning. It
is two pros and a cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio.
He's lebar Arrington. That guy's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox.

you all the way up until nine a m. Eastern time,
six o'clock Pacific. And that was one hell of a
first edition first batch of the college football Playoffs semi

(01:30):
finals between Miami and Ole Miss. Congratulations to the U.
They are back the.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
You well there, they're back back to Miami where there
be hosting a national championship game.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
That is They were the They were the better team
last night too, if we're being honest.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Right, Yeah, I think Chamber.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
They were.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, they had multiple opportunities. I thought, that's what I've
really opened that game up. I've dropped picks, drop passes
a lot of penalties too, But ultimately, you know, they
ended up pulling it out. Yeah, which again, you know,
this is kind of the Miami team you've seen throughout
the course of the year for for some of those

(02:13):
Miami fans. But man, they've got I mean, Ruben Bain
didn't play much of a factor. Message didn't play much
of a factor. So give credit to ole Miss's offense,
their offensive lines, their style of play.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
He kind of knew that was going to be the case.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I do want to ask you that you guys this,
if Kewan Lacy doesn't go out for that period of
time between the touchdown and when he came back, and
he didn't look the same when he came back, that
makes a difference to you guys, because it felt like
healthy it might have been a different game.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
He was effective, I don't.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
To me, it felt like ole Miss couldn't. Like Miami
was dictating terms offensively, like like that that final dry
It seemed like ole Miss defensively was really the letdown
in that game where I don't know that they were
going to be able to consistently stop Miami. And you
know that that last drive their defensive gassed at the end,

(03:09):
and it's that that Miami offensive line that you've talked
about and that you know, the tackle who's like seven
five and six hundred pounds.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
It's both tackles, but the left tackles.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It's just ridiculous, and it just felt like they wore
them down. So I think it would have Yeah, it
definitely would have helped, But I don't know. Ultimately, I
think Miami was going to win that game. I just
think they were there were there were more opportunities, and
it felt like they played a more complete game, even
though you know, things were sloppy of time and they
were lighting guys up after the whistle. That's the way

(03:39):
it felt.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I mean, I guess I believe yes, okay, okay, good, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I believe. Yes, he was effective even even with his.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Even with his his tweak after the touchdown run, I
think it was effective and and being able to run
he got tired, they pulled him out, So yeah, I
look at it as he would have been much more
of a factor on the game, maybe even the outcome
of the game because the defenses they you know, it

(04:17):
just it became easier for them to move the ball
at the end of the game, and when he was
in the game, he was able to move.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
The ball for them, but they did score.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
So I don't know that there's a cause to say
it would have ended differently, but he would have had
more of an impact on the game, That's what I think.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
So he he touched the ball for the seven yard
touchdown run, it sounded like they wrapped his hamstring like
he might have tweaked it a little bit, and you
really didn't see him until about the fourth quarter. Again,
Logan Diggs came in as their backup running back, and
it was fine, but just look kewant Lacy might be,
you know, next to Jeremiah Love, that next best running
back in the country, Like that's how good he was

(05:02):
this past season. I just kind of go back and
look at that and say, I don't know that they
had the same home run hitting ability running out of
the backfield, and it felt like even the you know,
dump down screens, it just wasn't quite there. So to
Jonas's point, sure Miami's offensive line could have kept leaning
on them, But I do feel like if Old Miss
was going to win that game, and by the way

(05:22):
them winning the coin toss and accepting the ball and
trying to dictate terms then going three and out the
next two drives, that could have been a worse recipe
for you to go win a game if that's how
you want to dictate things, and then your star running
back goes out even after you do score. Like it
kind of wasn't a great start, and it was almost
like Old Miss was searching, fighting, trying to find any

(05:46):
way of hanging in that game. So credit that Trinida Chombliss.
Credit to all involved for staying in it. I mean,
even their defense. For as much as you want to
say like they got worn down, there's also moments where
they got stops. The tip pick was huge. They didn't
kind of let down. They forced field goals at times,
and you know, got some missus. It just that team

(06:08):
fought their tail off for everything that they were given
this year. Give Old Miss a ton of credit for
what they did because the unfortunate part is Charlie West
Junior's guys won LSU, as is the rest of the
offensive staff. I don't know what's going to happen with
Trinidad Chamlas. He says he's come back to Old Miss,
but you know, it's hard to believe anything anyone says

(06:28):
when the portals still open. So it's it was a
tremendous run for a team that obviously had kind of
the odds stacked against them.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Pete Golding, the head coach of Old Miss, spoke afterwards
about the performance in that semi final last night, the semifinals.
It's supposed to be hard, you know, and when these games,
you got to.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Be at your best.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
You gotta play at your best, you gotta coach at.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Your best, and if you don't, you don't deserve to
win Miss the semifinals go to the national championship game.
So I thought we had our opportunity by not playing our.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Best game, and that's what we said.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
It high time.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
You know, we haven't played our best up to this point.
We've been here before.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
All right, let's go out here and let's spot the
ball and let's find a way to make it one
possession in the four.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Quarter and find a way to win a game.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
And our kids came back and did that and went
up and so hats off to them.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
We just got to find a way to close. They
got to a better drop coaching.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Yeah, man, they got to look and I know they
lost and they're going to, you know, feel like crap
and think about what if. And you know, there's a
miskick and doink and all the other things that came
along with it. It felt like they just also kind
of ran out of time because what was there eighteen
seconds left when they got the ball back and they
were at the thirty five with the snap of your fingers,
like they were right there. And then, you know, some

(07:39):
people are going to complain about, you know, the no
p I called. It felt like there could have been
PI called on either guy in the end zone on
that final throw. But I just think they great showing,
great story, fun to watch. A couple of stars were
made on big stages, and you know it's unfortunate, but

(07:59):
you know, Miami just down played him.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Ultimately, ultimately they were Again, I think it does come
back to the fact that that they were a better team.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yeah they were.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
They were the better team and and and ultimately, when
you look at the game, why didn't why didn't Chamalis
run more? I think the fact that I don't know
about you guys, we were waiting. I was waiting and
then he ran and then it was effective, and I

(08:31):
just I don't know why he did not run the
ball more. I think that that would have maybe opened
up the game for them if he had just got
to a point where he was like, man, some of
these plays, I'm gonna go ahead and run and make
it work because the defenses were getting tired, both defenses,

(08:51):
both sides.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Were getting tired during the course of this game.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
So I thought that was a major difference as well,
not just the running back tweaking his hamsh but the
fact that ole Miss, you know, QB, you're you're versatile
and what you're able to bring to the table, and
when you did decide to start running towards the end
of the game, those were some key moments when he
pulled the ball down and started running. You know, I

(09:16):
thought it was an interesting game from the simple standpoint
of you had a backup coach coaching against a starting coach,
and you had a few coaches missing from the team,
uh with ole Miss that weren't there for the prior game.
I think overcoming the odds in that game would have

(09:39):
been so interesting to see play out on such a
large stage, this late in the game in the season,
I should say, and you know what, ole Miss has
nothing to be seamed. I do believe systematically speaking or

(09:59):
game plan and wise, I thought that if they would
have been more proactive in getting the QB to run
the ball to keep the defense a little bit more
honest earlier in the game. That to me might have
been the difference.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah, no, I think you're right.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
I mean, it was odd to see him at the
end of the game, you know, take off, You're going, oh,
where's this been the whole time? And and honestly, like
you know, credits to the Miami pass rush, because there
were times, you know, they had someone's spying for him.
They did some different stunts and games up front where
it flushed him out of the pocket. There was nowhere
to go with the football, and so I'm not even
sure those running lanes were really there until they got

(10:39):
gassed until the end of the game. But I keep
going back to if you had a little bit more
quarterback design run when Lacy was in there, if Lacy,
you know, once he came back, it could have opened
some things up.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
But they also were in a pass mode at that point.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Like I'm not sure they had the ability to at
that point to do much more than throw the football.
And if it's not there for having to take off
and run. But again, credit old miss. I mean, they
really didn't allow a key messador or Ruben Baines Junior
to impact the game. You know, Messador had a number
of tackles, but you know, bain very rarely was talked about,

(11:13):
very really showed up. I mean, if you're a Miami fan,
these are two guys you kind of have hung your
hat on. And this is also the head scratcher where
you see games like the quarterfinal game, You're going, okay,
these guys are dominating, or even that the first round
game dominating, and then they told Miss that they the
note to be found. Now, their impacts obviously fell in

(11:34):
some of the scheme. I mean, obviously Old Miss wanted
to get the ball the perimeter fast. They want to
get the ball out of Trinida at Schama's hands fast.
But at the same time, there's also you know moments
where you're like, all right, this is this is that moment,
like this is where they close out the game and
neither had a sack. It really neither had much of
an impact. So that's I think if you're a Miami fan,

(11:56):
you were able to win, and you were able to
you know, ultimately find a way of slowing down an
offense that's one of the better in college football and
granted again, the keywon Lacy you know, time that he
was out, there's no doubt hurt, and the dude was
averaging almost ten yards to carry and really even just
being a you know, effective as being received in the

(12:19):
passing game. But Mima didn't play their best game either
and they still found a way to win in the end.
So look, you got Miami at home hosting a national
championship game, which is wild crazy. Talked about it yesterday.
The fact that they have a chance to win the
national championship before winning an ACC championship is kind of hilarious,

(12:41):
but it's awesome. But also, you know, just looking at
I think where college football's at a third straight year,
there's not an SEC team involved in the national Championship game,
and you're gonna have a Big ten team.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
It's either gonna be a Big ten or ACC.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
But either way, there's been a changing of guards and
the transfer portal has created so much parody in this
game where you've got old Miss, you know, with the
greatest season they've ever had in school history. You've got
the you who's now back. I mean, they were a
contender last year. Now they're legitimately contending for a national
championship and for a lot of the other schools out

(13:17):
there in the SEC, a lot more competition, you know,
whatever you're doing before recruiting, and I think we all
know what was going on that was under the table.
It's all above table now and you're seeing the impacts
of that.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
And you gotta be careful, man, listen, you never know
who's listening. You gotta be careful with that stuff, especially
with Miami.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
I just I call it.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
I see it, especially Miami. You got to be cared
about it. Yeah, you gotta be careful about that stuff.
By the way, you know, did you see Mario Cristobaul
on the stage afterwards? It's like they're like, you got
all these like want to get on camera, people who
have nothing to do with the game, and he's like
telling everybody to get out of the way, like only
players only, Like he just wants Miami folk up there.
And by the way, people for like what doesn't get

(13:59):
talked about a lot you talk about like home grown
Miami Hurricane. That's Mario Christobal. Like he won a couple
of national titles there with the Canes, Like that's so
for him to be able to go back and look,
and I know we'll get Quinn's wins coming up later on,
but if you get you know, Oregon Miami, that storyline

(14:19):
is a fun one to think about where he came
from and who he's going to be coaching against, so
and and you got to give credit to Carson Beck.
I know he's had his criticisms and there's been been
a lot of people critical of you know, his time
at Georgia and how that finished up. And that was
a nuts on the table final drive and they got
it done, big third down conversion. So give credit where

(14:42):
credit's due. Man.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
They look at it on that it was, it was.
It was huge for him in every way, you know,
because I think they're they're almost to out the course
of his playoffs. It almost I don't know if it
seems like they don't have confidence in him, but they
never really put him in a position where he's had
to win the game because they haven't really been in it.
And you know, this was a moment where he had
to step up. It was big third down throws, big

(15:03):
throws throughout the course that drive. Then obviously let's scramble
on the end zone. And I go back and look
at it, this is what you should expect out of him.
He's highly paid or compensated for you know why he's there,
you know, to help you win a national championship.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
But also that's.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Sort of the talent and the ability that he has.
You know, he showcased that throughout the course of his career.
He's an older player in this game too, so this
is kind of the expectations of what he should be
out there doing. But I was happy to see him
play up to his capabilities, because again, he's a talented player.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
When they give him a opportunity to play like.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
That, We're gonna reconnect with Var here. We had some
technical difficulties here, so we will connect with Var shortly.
Carson Beck, though, did speak afterwards about the message the
conversation with the team as they approached that final drive
trying to win and get into a national title at home.
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
I thought him, we got three minutes, but the rest
of our life matters.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Sorry, I mean to.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Cuss, emotions are wronging, but nothing else matters.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
We got three minutes to go through this man.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
I mean everything we've worked for since January, everything we've
been through, all.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
The adversity, that we faced.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
All comes down at three minutes in a semi finals
and we're able to drive it down and finish it.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
And there they go off and running into the home
game for the national championship. Which team or do they
have the best shot a beating Boy?

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Again, I always go back to just the size disadvantage
between Indiana and everyone. So I would I would say,
you're looking at Miami versus I.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
You even though you know Indiana's number one team and
they've proved me wrong the whole year.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
That offensive line, that D line, I mean, it's I
would say that group, you know, they probably have their
greatest advantage against. But I wouldn't sit that far off.
I mean, Indiania has been so sound the entire season.
But I think, again, I'm taking we'll talk about it
later what we're doing for tonight's game, but I would

(17:01):
think Indiana they would they would have the best advantage
against just because of sheer size and even some of
the athleticism.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Yeah, I'll say this from from the perspective of what
took place last night. If I'm Indiana or Oregon, I
feel like there are things that you can do to
have success against that that Miami defense. At first, it

(17:29):
didn't seem like it. And I'm not sure if it
was schematically why Ole miss don't I don't want to
say struggle, but maybe we were contained, Maybe they were
a little maybe they were a little conservative, like didn't
want to mess up early and do anything that would,

(17:53):
you know, lend to them not being able to stay
into the game because their defense was unable to control
their front. Obviously has already been stated, but they weren't
able to stop Miami even though the score was so
low early on. It was kind of it was strange
to see how they were unable to stop the run,

(18:15):
but drives kept stalling out. If I'm Oregon or Indiana
and you have to obviously prepare for the game you're
going to play today. So but if I'm the coaching
staff and I'm the ones that are making sure that
the preparation for next week's game, you know obviously contingent
upon if you win today. I think there's a lot

(18:38):
of things you can do to that Miami defense. And
the biggest thing for their offense is that if you
cannot control the offensive front of Miami, they are going
to force that run and everything is going to derive
from what they're able to do and have success with

(19:01):
running the ball. And if you don't have an ungodly
I mean just a crazy uh you know, participation from
from ten Tony. I just I don't know. I don't
know where Miami. I don't if you can stop my
if you can stop Tony Maloca Tony, and you can

(19:25):
stop the run, I don't know, man, And I think
both Oregon and both Oregon and Indiana can do both
of those things. So if I'm confident, if I'm in,
if I'm going into this game tonight, it's like, we
gotta win our national title. And it's want to know,
it's always wan to know, but we got to win
our national title tonight. If we get to Miami, I

(19:50):
think you can you honestly can say whether it's Mandoza
or or it's the QB. What's the QB's name from?

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Uh? From Oregon? Joey Harrington, Yeah, Dante Amore No, that's
a while ago.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
You definitely, I definitely would feel confident if I'm both
of these teams.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Well, that maybe the case. I thought Hell and Marion
stepped up in a big way.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Number zero zero, Yeah, number zero zero he's a really
good player.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Yeah yeah, And then look they've got players. I mean CJ.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Daniels is a really good player as well, So I
think they have talent. It's just, you know, one of
the things is it feels like they kept stubbing their
toe with false starts, different penalties that were like getting
self inflicted. If Miami can play a cleaner game, they
probably could have won that much more handily or at
least put more pressure on Old miss. Part of my

(20:41):
issue is more like, let's not forget this team. They
lost SMU, they lost to Louisville, Like they've got some
bad losses too, Like this is not a team that
didn't have it's kind of scars throughout the course of
the year where you go back and watch and go
like they you know, underachieved and and a couple of
those performances, so they're floor as a team. It's lower

(21:02):
than you think. And it's one of the reasons why
you go look at Indiana. It's like, well, you could
say they haven't played as many like tough games, but
every single tough game they play, they win, like they
find a way of winning. So I don't know why
I always feel like eventually they're gonna stub their toe
because they have it this season. But they've got two
tough opponents left now in Oregon and then obviously Miami
if they can make it past Oregon, I just I

(21:24):
don't know something about Oregon Dante more their speed, their ability,
Like Oregon's that team that I said this when the
playoffs started, I had the feeling that Oregon was like
Ohio State last year, where it was like, you know,
people tend to forget how good Oregon was last year
and then they just drop one.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Game the playoff.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
They've been building to this and I feel like Oregon,
you know, looked like that team that, Yeah they lost
IU early in the season, but it may have been
a good reset for them and now they feel kind
of poised maybe to go beat Indiana and win it all.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I will say this, with the penalties, the helmet to helmet,
you know, all that stuff, and then you know the
very think it was the very next play there was
a late hit like it wouldn't be Miami football without
a little bit of rough around the edges type stuff.
You know that that did feel like so if for
whatever reason, and I'm just saying that for whatever reason.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
You don't know exactly what that.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Little bit of an edge, you know, a little little
bite you think if you.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Think you want to call it, but I know you
can't spell, you can't smell bite without.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
You if you think like you think Indiana, you think structure, discipline,
buttoned up, and then you think Miami and you think,
you know, blow like it's just it is is what
it is, you.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Know, I mean, but his name is crystal Ball. You know, like.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
I heard it was snowing out in the desert after
the game.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
It would not would Snowcata would not be a surprise,
and they a big time.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
They did the big time.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
There was clearly a difference by the way between the Yeah, yeah,
it's a little different, you know, just a little different
between Old Miss and what they brought to the game,
what Miami brought to the game.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
They both traveled well, though, I mean every time something
big happened. And listen, I saw how Old Miss does
things when we played Old Miss uh In in Atlanta
a few years back. They travel well, they are that
is a fine fan base. I'll tell you that. In Miami,
obviously they travel really well. And then this next upcoming

(23:39):
game will be a home game for them, and it's
going to be pretty crazy. But it's interesting that that
you would point that out. It did like just even
from the start, like you got Eli Manning and Patrick.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Willis yeah right, a very very.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
Traditional looking way of coming out. They were Patrick, yeah right,
a little late. But did you see Ray and Edge
come walking out and we just you knew from the start,
you knew you knew from Flooryda the coin flip. These
were two different cultures that was coming together.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
You know.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yeah, it was fun watch so great game though, great

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Hot? That's good?

Speaker 5 (28:10):
Right?

Speaker 3 (28:10):
That works bad?

Speaker 7 (28:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
That works Patty Sweet? What do you got?

Speaker 4 (28:18):

a beeferoni green around his mouth.

Speaker 1 (28:30):

LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming

to have another edition of in case you missed it.
But right now it is time for the ti Iraq
Play of the Day.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Check holds his hands out, takes drops the look right
to the right.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Look, watch.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
You got first h back here to the ed zone.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Hey, rent it in over the left side. Carson Back
takes it in Corey.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Miami touchdown, Miami touchdown.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
For coursing Back. Is that the winning moment is that
three yard clutchdown? Hurricanes Radio Network on the call. That
is your tire Iraq Play of the Day. For over
forty years, Tyrack's been helping customers find the right tires
for how, what and where they drive. Ship Fast and
freeback by free Road has a protection with convenient installation
options like mobile tire installation ti iraq dot com. The

(32:19):
way tire buying should be. You think Ole Miss should have,
you know, maybe used a time mat or two on
that final Miami drive save themselves some time or now.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yeah, that was one of the things that like going
back over that game and looking at where they could
have used Lane Kiffin. You know, I do wonder with
a staff that wasn't fully intact, did they miss the
game management element of things? Did they miss some things
offensively where they did kind of sputter a bit, because

(32:51):
because you saw them get going there in the second half,
they're like, all right, this is what we're accustomed to
seeing from Old Miss. So that that was one of
the things I was curious about, Like they almost kind
of started to use him too late, but again, they
still had a shot in the end, you know, with
what was an eighteen seconds left to move.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
The ball forty fifty yards whatever it was.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
And you know, for people who are looking for a
call in that play, I just look, I don't have
a dog in the fight in regards to which team I.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Was pulling for.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
I just don't think you can make a call there.
I do think there was contact both sides. I understand
if you're Old Miss fan, you felt like it was
more on the receiver. I get that he was pushing too,
you know. And it's one of the reasons why if
you throw a ball with more trajectory where it drops
kind of down in that area, as opposed to it
being more of like a missile where it's going to

(33:41):
like sail out of bounds, you probably have the better
chance of a guy like stopping his feet and then
repositioning himself to jump or to make a play on
the ball.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
It really didn't feel like either player had much of
a chance because it was more of like a line
drive throw. Does that make sense, Yeah, it was.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
It looked like it was out of the end zone.
I mean, right, didn't It looked like the ball was
kind of he could could have made a play on it.
He could have caught the ball. I think he was
holding him though he was holding him, He was holding
him by the collar of his of his jersey as
a defender. I'm I was happy it was a non call,

(34:19):
But in general, usually that's a bell out situation. Now,
what I will say is that doesn't mean you go
on get a touchdown the next play. Yeah, I mean
that was still that was still kind of a desperation throw.
And in fifteen yards. Yes, it makes a difference, but
it still would have been a desperation throw. I mean,
you got to get into the end zone more.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Than it was in the end zone. It would have
been more than that.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
It would have been.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
How does that work? I thought it's all a pi
is fifteen in college it is by files.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, that would they would they would move it up more.
I believe what would that like? What would that have
been like? Where where they throw from? But that's the
other thing. They had like six seconds left, they probably
could have actually run one quick play to the outside
to move it up another five or ten and and
then and there.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
And the reason why you do that is twofold. One,
you don't allow a longer play for the edge rushers.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
To play a factor, but two, you you do allow
for a better chance if there is a p I
on the final play for it to go, then an
untimed down from the two.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Yeah, that's what I thought they were.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
I'm unaware of that rule. If it's in the end zone.
I had no idea about that.

Speaker 5 (35:32):
Again, I just I think that it's it's it showed
to be for for quite a bit of time, difficult
to get into the end zone and listen, they opened
it up late, they started to access it. They it
seemed like whoever was going to have the ball last,
you know, they were going to be the team that
that got it done. But I mean, you havn't that
much time. It wasn't It wasn't very much time left

(35:55):
on the clock for that for old miss on that drive.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
But I mean I did think it was Ao. I
ain't going lot. They both holding him. He was holding
him the whole time. They both were grabbing. I mean
they both were, Uh, they were the whole the whole
clock stuff.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Defensive guys get get to grab, but you know, more
than not defensive guys, the whole the whole clock stopping
with a first down in college like like that eighteen seconds.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
It may as well have been forty five because it was.
It was so easy, like they went straight down and
they're sitting at the thirty five with yeah, and that's
what I thought they were gonna do. They were gonna
throw a quick out to the short side. And when
he moved to the left, I thought, all right, well
maybe that's where the play's going. And then he just
sort of chucked it up. So it was kind of
an underwhelming final play. But yeah, I thought the same thing,
like maybe they get this closer, they would still have time.

(36:44):
And you know, look that doink Off, the upright boy
that came in big when it came to uh yeah, yes, unfortunately,
and that guy's been like cold. That guy's could say.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Cold if you want last year, So we have cold nights,
cool nights.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
They call for better sleep shop mattress firms once a

sports or entertain good thing. The guys are here to
bring you in case you missed it.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
the one and only Patrick Sweeka. Patty Spree, Yo, what up?

Speaker 5 (40:12):
Guys?

Speaker 4 (40:13):
What up? Jonas Hivar Hi, Brony Cowboy? How did Patna?

Speaker 7 (40:20):
Well, you know what, Pauna, it's time to do in
case you missed it, And guys, oh boy, we got
a good one here. So Jimbo Fisher appeared on the
ACC Network earlier, predating the old Miss Miami spot right
yesterday he unloaded here on Lane Kiff and for not
letting more of the former ole Miss assistants help the rebels,

(40:41):
you know, try to finish the job.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
You Actually, I have some sound to play.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
I give a listen here.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
It's selfish, that's what it is. It's stupid.

Speaker 9 (40:47):
And because here's why I say that, he wanted a
coach and thought he didn't get his way. So everybody
get on the plane with me. You don't have a job,
all right, And he makes them all go. Then he
gets Danner and takes a pr hit because it looks
bad that you really don't care about the kids.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Then he says, okay, you can go back. But here's
where he screwed up. He thought they were gonna lose it.

Speaker 9 (41:05):
He thought they were gonna lose a Georgia and the
portal thing was all over with and it was gonna
be all over with. He said, oh, I'll look like
a hero. Now he's got the egg on his face
because the real lane came back out. You know what
I'm saying. And if those guys were allowed to coach
the first game, they should be allowed to coach before.
Because those guys are doing, those kids are doing something
that you get one time in your life to ever do.
Literally that team and those guys one time. And as

(41:26):
a coach, listen, I know I've left a job.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I get that.

Speaker 9 (41:28):
But if you took them on, took them all said
they're never coming back, that's fine. You set the rules
of the game. You don't change the rules in the
middle of the game. And as a coach, it's hurting
the kids and it pisses me off.

Speaker 5 (41:40):
Spicy sounds about right now. I mean I don't I
don't know the details of it all, but why were
you not there? You're there for the last game, but
you're not there.

Speaker 4 (41:50):
For this one. I mean sounds kind of right to me.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
I mean, you know, sound like Jimbo Fisher is. You know,
there's nothing in his in his past that you would
look at and go maybe not the maybe not the
voice you want to hear from this spot, you know.

Speaker 4 (42:06):
I mean, but I mean he's not in that incorrect though,
No he's not. No, he's not.

Speaker 5 (42:12):
I mean you could be a hypocrite, but still you're
still I mean, that doesn't make what he said incorrect.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
No, it's just you know, you want to the messenger
is not a hypocrite, I get it.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
It's like it's like two used car salesmen insulting each other.

Speaker 5 (42:29):
Well, I mean, okay, better to do it if you
if you know what you're looking at, who better to
talk about it you don't.

Speaker 4 (42:37):
I'm just saying he wasn't wrong.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
Yeah he got paid though.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
He's good. Yeah I mean yeah he did.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Yeah, yes he did. Eighty million dollar check.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
Not bad. Still getting it
