And look who's back?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Last back, what up far, last back upsticks, Good morning.
I had a great time, man, gotta say, I had
a really, really, really nice time. It was just the
twins though it wasn't it wasn't all of them, but
but it was nice. It was very nice having that
time with them. Me and Man got some some good
(02:09):
film review in and some good time together.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
So and you know, it was good.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
It was spring break for them.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
It was it was yeah, it was so yeah, came
and went but missed you guys, but but certainly enjoyed
being with them.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
So he was take him out and just get throttled.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
He's the daddy.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I actually got left yesterday. I actually got throttled yesterday,
so which was the worst day to do it of
all of them. But that's what I did. My foot
hurts today. I came in. Yeah, bro, I got up
limping today. So yeah, we'll see if this water can
clear it up. You know, hopefully I'll be all right
(02:49):
by midday to day.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yeah, I figured out how to kind of manage it.
So it's good. Yeah good. Yeah, got a lot, got
a chance to sit and watch a lot of sports too.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
You know.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
It was interesting. But like I said, not not to
the degree that you.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Guys, I don't.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I don't consume sports the way you do, not not
to the degree that you guys do.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
So, but I did watch a lot of sports.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
I even watched I even watched our girls basketball team
play Italy and New Zealand.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Like it was interesting. Yeah, it's just going through.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
I've come I've come to the conclusion I don't think
I can watch golf anymore. And not for the reasons
you guys are gonna take shots at golf. I'm saying,
like I end up being so jealous of not being
able to like be there to play it.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
It's it's tough.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
I'm like I was like this when I was young,
when I'd watch sports and be like, I'd rather just
go outside and shoot hoops or go play football outside
or something else. I've gotten that way with golf now
where I'm watching, I'm like, gosh, of course, looks so nice.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I just I can't. It's hard to watch now.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
And I know, again, everyone take your shots whatever, but
like that was actually a fun like down the stretch
tournament to watch where Cam young enough winning the players Championship.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
But yeah, anyway, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
That's where I've got him with watching certain sports and
then other sports obviously like college basketball, we're watching them
like this is fun, Like I can't go back and
play that, so we're good.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Is is it the weather or the the family as
part as the reason why you can't get out there?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
No, not the family, and come on now, No, it's
it's it's the weather. Like look at the course, it's like,
looks pristine. I'm like, oh, no, this is great. I
wish I was out there. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
So none of the courses have started to open up
yet or started to Oh they.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Are They're just not down you know where I live.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Are you able to look at it and say to yourself, hmm,
I wonder how much wind is blowing that way? Or well,
look at the curve of it, you know, look at
curve of that that that green that you know what
I mean.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
I just look at it and I think like two things,
like dang, I wish I was there playing it. And
then I'm like, why can't my lawn look like that?
Like I just I feel worse about my landscape every
time I look at a golf course.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
It's the angle. You gotta cut out a good angle.
You know what it is.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, if you go at it from a good angle,
you'll be all right, man, and you're you could get
it a little lower and it won't die.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
It's the angle, man.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, I wouldn't know, no, no, no, no lawn where
I'm at, I had to.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I had to mow lawn when I was growing up.
That was part of my daily chores and responsibility. Not daily,
but weekly for certain. I had to push and drive
a decent little little spot. My parents did all right life,
you know, a decent little lot, but we cut on angles.
Learned to cut on an angle. Nothing better than fresh
cut grass shuts out to my Mike is probably long gone.
(05:44):
My high school quarterback, the only quarterback I've ever had
in my entire life that you know, we won one with.
He's now coaching my high school again. I'm thinking about
moving home so I could go help coach him.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
It'd be awesome.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
No, I'm not. I'm joking.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Okay, but he's awesome though, still be Casparovig is the man.
But I learned from Mike, who we are still a
turf a grass, a natural grass field in high school?
Speaker 2 (06:12):
How about that? Yeah? Man? Yeah, So anyway, there's there's
a you know story, No, listen, think about natural gas.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
How about the n C bracket?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
That's right, how about Yeah, the the brackets are out.
We're going to give you information after we after we
finish up this discussion. Did you really but uh, why
(06:46):
Scoop looks like a bomb guy? No, she just played
a bong drop was smoking a joint.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
I wasn't ripping. Yeah, how do you hear that? I
wasn't ripping?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
For the record, I am a bong guy, yeah he is? What,
I'm a hookah guy?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Who could plus all right, try who could plus with
your boy coop?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
You look like a bond guy. I'm not sure what
that means. I don't know what that's come off the
wrong way, But he doesn't you telling me that. I
don't picture you with the doobie or anything else. I
picture you with the.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Ball for a gas mask.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
He's like.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
A gas mask type type. Look to you.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
He's the.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
I have used a gas mask. I don't have one.
The wait a second, what are the different categories?
Speaker 5 (07:32):
I could picture you just like and handling out of
a muffler.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
So.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
So, so what are the different categories? There's bomb guys,
there's uh stone cold stoner. You know you got Joslin
pipe just regular apple cores. If you're really apple apple
bomb apple cores. Yeah, you make an apple into a pipe. Yeah,
you can get away.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Welcome to the conversation, little rain. I just jumping right then.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
If you're like like my like my dad back in
the day, aluminum can.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah, that's the diver smoker.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
It's a very telling segment right now.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Yeah, they talked about all these different smokers on Half Baked.
By the way, you got the creative smoker, you got
the mcgiver, smoker. You know, you got the complaining smoker,
the one that just tells you all about their problems
and all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Is there.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
There are a lot of different stoners out there that
you got, the happy stoner, you got, the old ass stoner,
you got the snoop.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Dog you got he hires someone to roll his professional roller.
Imagine that job. I mean, it can't be a bad job,
you know. Yeah, there you go, Brady, Now get there.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
One day we will we'll be able to chime in
with some some other weed options for you. Oh they gottok.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Got cigars cigars?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yeah, I love cigars.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah yeah, same type of difference, really, you know to me, I.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Used to get candy cigarettes off the ice. Oh yeah,
yeah yeah yeah, okay, yeah they are very good. No,
not at all. All right.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
You know what it is though, what was it? The
NCAA tournament. That's what's good.

the brackets are out. Anybody got to complain because I
find it hard to complain about the bracket and teams
that didn't get in when sixty eight get in, I
find it really hard to pick and choose.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Well they got posted.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
I'm sure, I'm sure Bruce Pearl, you know he's making
this case.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Of course, Look when Auburn was what a game above
five hundred, you can't really you can't really complain. Way
I don't think they've let a team in with that
record or around that record, and they talked.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
About it a bit too on the selection show.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
But I'm just glad to see my Ohio get in,
Like that's gonna be a fun story to watch. They
weren't the last one in, but they are one of
the last fours, so they will have to play themselves
into the to the you know, round of sixty four.
But regardless, it was good to see that the mackets
a couple teams in because I think Miami Ohio got
all the credit this year.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Akron's a damn good team.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
That's who won that tournament, and you know, they're obviously
very deserving as well, so they got the automatic bid.
But the thing that stood out to me the most
is the East part of the bracket. I mean, Duke
for the overall number one seed, that is not an
easy path. Guys like you could face Ohio State's got
a dynamic score TCU.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Even the second round you got Saint John's.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
You know, the Sweet sixteen, you got Kansas. We talked
about them a little bit this year. Michigan State's the
three seed in that bracket, and then obviously you've got Yukon.
On the other end, there's the two seed. Like for
the number one overall seed, that's a that's a bit
of a gauntlet. I would say, it's not the easiest
path for them to get to the final.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Four, and they're the favorites to win the tournament. But
it goes back to it should be what we've always
talked about that there really is no like they'll go, oh, well,
look they got the number one overall seed.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, what does that mean in this tournament? What does
that even mean to me?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
It's just, you know, I don't know what advantages you
really get at all at any point during the tournament
if you're the number one overall seed, or even if
you're a one seed, other than well, you'll face a
sixteen team and you know, some program who's just happy
to be there. And that's fine, and we've only seen
it happened once when a sixteen seat to one. But
I just looked at that bracket. I thought to myself, man,
(12:37):
they'd probably be better served being in one of the
other ones, maybe being you know, not the number one
overall seed, being the you know, the second one seed
or the third one seed, and they would have had
an easier path to get there, but nonetheless they're the
favorites to win at all. And as somebody who picks
Duke every year, that's just my go to when it
comes to the bracket. Not all that optimistic that Duke's
(12:57):
gonna be able to get such as, what do you
want me to do?
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Man? You are for me to do? Bobby Hurley gave
me hope, short white guy.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
These teams are the Boston Celtics, yeah, Pittsburgh Penguins, Yeah,
the Chicago Bears. Granted he had he was, you know,
a child during eighty five Bears that run like he
just picks all the favorites.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
That's what it sounds like. Horror.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Definitely, Bandwagon and the Whore, The Boozer Twins are are
some some beasts man and Cam Cam is the best
basketball player in college college basketball.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yeah, they should be favored.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I think they they play a great brand of basketball,
and they ushered in the new era of what what
Duke basketball is. I guess what it's going to look like.
So but I do think it will be challenging for them.
I think it'll be challenging for everybody because you just
don't know, you know, the rankings, and the ratings don't
(13:58):
necessarily tell you what type of team they are. But
I mean there are some impressive teams in the field
this year. Michigan is pretty impressive, you know, the Tennessee
is pretty impressive. I mean, like the big there's some
the blue blood big dogs out there have been pretty impressive.
They they've lived up to the hype. But it'd be
interesting to see man because there's always that those teams
(14:20):
that knock them off, and it's usually Kentucky the first
one to go. Well, we'll see, We'll see how how
the top teams, you know, how they do.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
I think that's one of the real feel good stories
of March Madness is just to be able to see
John Calipari get away from negativity the top that is Kentucky,
to be able to go to a program like Arkansas
and to see them win the NCAA or the SEC
Tournament yesterday. I just think he was never going to
(14:52):
be able to do that at Kentucky because of that
fan base. It's just a repulsive way to treat a coach,
a legend like John Calipari, who brought them a national
title and for them and I don't blame him.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
He needed to get out of there. He just needed
to leave.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
And and so it's nice to see him take center
stage yesterday.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
I know what you guys are doing.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
You guys try to trigger me right now, all right,
And here's the thing is, I'm not gonna let you
get that done. And for the ones who get it done,
Granger oppers access to over a million products and the
scale to deliver when and where you need them to
write souls and supplies are never far away.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Call Clipgranger dot com or just stop by.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
I'll say this about John Caliperry and what he's built
in Arkansas. I mean again, he's always got backers with
deep pockets, so he's able to pay the players handsomely.
And that's how he's gotten Darius Acoff Junior, who maybe
the type of player.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
That kid is a stud and he may be the
type of player that can put a team on his
back and take him on a deep run. But what
will the narrative be if they do stumble.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I'm just saying, if they don't make it deeper into
the Sweet sixteen, Elita, I'm not sure where it's at.
Maybe there's some Kentucky fans who feel like if Kentucky
makes it further, like that's a win. I mean, that's
most likely how they're gonna view this. But really, honestly,
I know you want to talk about this and joke
about this. As I was watching the SEC championship game,
(16:14):
my thought was more of Vanderbilt and what they've done
with their athletics program just in the past calendar year
and since the change with NIL. I don't think gets
enough credit for how they've completely transformed their image and athletics.
We've always know it's been a high academic institution, but
(16:35):
because of Indiana and they went in football, it's overshadowed
how much improvement Vanderbilt has made both in football, men's basketball.
They've about some other sports, baseball, they're obviously very competitive
in Like I don't think Vanderbilt gets enough credit for
how they've built up what was kind of a doormat
in football. I don't remember them being overly competitive in basketball.
(16:57):
Maybe my mind's escaping me, but they don't get enough credit. Like,
like they've done that school has done a really good
job of finding way of balancing being a high academic institution,
but also you know, still get it done. But uh yeah, yeah,
I know, I know you guys want to talk about
John Caliperry. We'll see, we'll see how the brackets fair out.
They don't have an easy path either. Kentucky's got to
(17:18):
play Iowa State and uh and most like the next
round assuming they beat Santa Clara, which is in a layout.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
So so I saw Santa Claire, I was like, oh god, yeah,
I was like, it's a horrible name to get the Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Wow, that's the play at the first round. But hey,
you know, maybe this is a good year.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
On the subject of Vanderbilt, that's just nil, right, And
and is it just because all of a sudden you've
got what people have graduated from there.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
They maybe have a little bit of cash and they're
in feature.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
Yeah, but they're like low key doing it, like they're
not as touting everyone else about it. You know, they've
got they've got some deep pockets there in Nashville, like
they know what they're doing. That's an easy place to
recruit to as well. Like Nashal's awesome city. They've got
a great education, it's a beautiful campus. There's like there's
a ton of things going for them, and they don't
advertise as much as everyone else.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
I I think I had Indiana not won it this year,
Vanderbilt would become that team. To me that just if
you look at all their sports programs, like they are
competing at a really, really high level.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I don't think people don't talk about it enough.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Baseball has always been good and but but yeah, football
was bad for a while and then now you've got basketball,
uh making a run there.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
So good for good for the Commodoors, the Commodores, they saying.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
I want to hear them saying, yeah, I know what
I'm saying, not sure, saying like the Commodore.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Reference Radio. No, you don't even know who the
Commodoors are. I know the name. I just not very sad. Jonas, Jonas,
that's very sad.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
And I realized the facial expression that you made, like
what are you even talking about right now? Uh gave
gave way to the fact that do you have you
ever heard of Motow?
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Have you heard of Motow? Come on, sho Hitsville, you
know you never heard of it?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Is he doing that thing he does again? Where he
gets that look.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
He has that look.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
Yeah, yeah, did you miss that look a little bit?
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Oh god, yeah I missed you guys.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
Man, I feel like there's more to talk about towing
the bracket. I mean, we didn't get any sound. We
hear Bruce Pearl's excuses.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Yeah, we've got it all.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Do you want to We'll save it for after the
break here because we are up against it. But it
is two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, Bruce pearls in a tough spot,
but man, he sold it and art himself in there

somebody who's put in a bad spot and why the

previous years.

The world of sports. It's getting bad, real bad.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
That's yours in another edition of In case you missed it,
But right now it is time for the tire raq
play of the day.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
It is.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Thanks going to go down and the USA is able
to win this whole thing.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
That slider right there that was below the zone and
one team reacting.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
The other just stunning, so they can, oh, you sure
we don't have abs yet?
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Be sure we can't challenge that. Prudomo and Dominican Republic.
Speaker 8 (21:47):
Are wondering and they'll have to wonder what would have
happened the Fernando.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Sati's left standing on deck FS one on the call.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Then we're tire Raq Play of the Day.
Speaker 1 (21:57):

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Some you lose some.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
It was a terrible call. It was all that pitch
wasn't close and they couldn't challenge it. So just you know,
it's rough that it ends that way. But you know,
the US is onto the final maybe they'll get the
eye ties, you know, maybe the eye tie.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Get another another shot at it.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Did y'all get a chance to talk about how y'all
talked about that.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Game and then Italy won? Yeah, yeah, I got to
talk about it.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
Yeah, yeah, we definitely we're surprised by the outcome. But
I mean, hell, they're they're fueled by espresso. I mean
they have so much espresso in there. It's I mean
you can look at them all cafeinated, all caffeine up.
I mean, shoot, coop, should should you get some sort
of express two.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Two pros and a cup of Joe? Should have? You
know figure mentioned throw it out out there?
Speaker 3 (23:00):
You know this, Uh, you're a tremendously large espresso Brandon.
You want to get on a show with some some
cool guys. I mean, give us a call. Some of
the may or might not have gone off on that.
I won't say who. I think you can guess, but
you know, all right they have we are we.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Are available that point.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Yeah, it's like the time that you need coffee the most,
the most.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Speaking of not to go on a complete tangent there,
but did you see Starbucks is coming out with like
a curried type coffee maker.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Cumulus I think is the name of it. Have you
seen that?
Speaker 3 (23:40):
No?
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Really?
Speaker 5 (23:41):
Yeah, unless this is like completely ai, I got duped
because that's where we are in society. They're Howard Schultz,
like is filling up this a nice cup of coffee.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
It's like, this is damn good coffee. Yeah, that was
pretty much it. But it's their their counter to the
cured Howard Schultz.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Last name sounds familiar. Why is that because the son
tried to beat up Ian Rappoport. Oh, Jordan was this kid?
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Yeah, yeah, he was a five to one favorite too.
The more I saw the odds in Indianapolis. He's got a
huge size of fans. I mean the size of like in,
my little pope is a big dude.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Oh man is little?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
You know?
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
How's that for a draft comp my little pony. That's
a that's a nice thing. Nice thing to happen.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
They're cute. I mean at least they look good, you know.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Can we get Can we get back to Bruce Pearl?
I need to hear what Bruce Pearl? So he was
Paul Ticky for two months for Auburn to get out.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeh, Bruce Pearl was really really working hard. Obviously he
is now no nepotism, no favorite. His son is the
coach at Auburn. Their one game is Brady pointed out
over five hundred for the season. And so Bruce Pearl,
you know, wanted to talk about Miami Ohio and not
playing anybody even though they went undefeated and all that,
(25:05):
and yesterday spoke about how he felt about his son's
Auburn Tiger's not getting in.
Speaker 9 (25:11):
You know, Auburn won three beat three champions this year.
They beat Flourida, they beat Saint John's, and they beat Arkansas.
They played the toughest schedule in the country. I don't
know they were rewarded for it. It's hard to get
another couple of SEC teams in when the SEC already
has ten.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Okay, the problem is they only won fourteen other games. Okay,
so like, yeah, they beat all those teams.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
But they lost a lot too. Yeah. Yeah, he didn't
talk about though you did not like those.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
At some point we can do the deep dive into
the analytics and all that stuff that we want, but
are you winning the games that you're playing?
Speaker 2 (25:52):
You are you? Are you actually winning those games?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
And that's why like some of the complaints about Miami
Ohio with you know, strength of schedule and what they
would have done here if they would have played this
team or that team if they would have been in
this conference or that conference.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Okay, but they weren't.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
And yeah, they lost in the tournament in the first
in the first game, and not a great look.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
But that was their only loss of the season.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
They won every game this year and at some point
that's got to count for something in my mind.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I don't know, I God, you have a cue. God.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
Well, no, I was going to say, I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
It was just strictly that, you know, Auburt's being compared
to Maam of Ohio and my Ohio. From all accounts
from Keith Gill, who's with the Sun Built Commissioner, if.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Not mistaken, he was the head of all of the
selection committee.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
He had said they were actually the first of the
last four in so really you were talking about, you know,
a team like Oklahoma for example, that's in the SEC,
that was they were being compared to, and you know,
ultimately didn't feel like they had a strong enough case.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
I think they looked at the historical numbers. As I
mentioned earlier.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
I don't know that we've seen a team that was
five hundred or a game above five hundred that's gotten
in regardless of strength of schedule, so you know, I
understand the rationale for it, and it wasn't like the
committee didn't have to break some of their rules.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
I mean, in the first four games, they're going.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
To have a rematch of what Texas and NC State
and you know, again, Texas another team you know that
you look at and say, a right, that was another
team that they had you know, comparable, you know, you know,
resume to that ended up getting it instead. But I
think the committee did a really good job with this bracket.
I don't you know, I personally, from watching Auburn a
(27:30):
little bit this year, didn't feel like they were a
team that you know, deserved getting in. And I think
there's always going to be people who try to have
a gripe anytime you have you.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Know, the number sixty eight.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
Now, who knows if it grows, but let's be real,
there's sixty eight darned teams. Like there's always going to
be a few teams on the bubble who feel like
they should have been a part of it or should
have made it, and especially bigger brands, which is essentially
what Bruce Pearl was trying to get at too, and
throughout the course of the past two months saying that
you know, it's big, you know, tough conference, the best
(28:01):
or most deserving, Like they're basically taking a page out
of the college football playbook, in particular SEC fans in
the college football playbook to get their teams involved. And
then I will just generally say this, maybe we should
start tracking it because as we've started to track, the
past few years in college football hasn't worked out well
for the SEC. You've had a lot of teams in
you haven't performed on the postseason and particularly get national championships.
(28:24):
So if you want to use that argument and go
down that road, I don't think it's gonna work out
well for you. That's just my two cents in the
whole matter. But mind you, I mean, look again, there's
a lot of interesting things about this Braquia point too.
I mean, Nebraska, who would have thought, like, Nebraska's never
won an nca March Tournament game ever, it's wild and
(28:46):
they haven't had an unbelievable season this year, at least
in the regular season. And now they've got to play
a Troy team where I'm like, I don't know, Like
maybe they should win, but I don't know. Maybe this
is the year they can't get past it.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
If they were one of the teams early on that
but we're looking at going yeah, fools gold, fools gold.
But here they are with an opportunity, they still might
be fools gold.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
I mean, yeah, yeah, man, listen, cat.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Like I said earlier, cats are going to come into
this this tournament. And I don't know that you get
blown away by by upsets anymore. I don't know if
it's as as uh trigger it's expected. It is kind
of like you're looking five twelve, like at some point
the five twelve somebody's going to get knocked off. Last
(29:32):
year was the first year and I'd forgotten about this
just kind of looking looking at the bracket. But last
year was the first year that all number one seeds
got to the final four.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
So it was as chalky as chalk as you could get.
But yeah, you almost expect that we're just going to.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Get all sets.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
Speaking of Wisconsin, the five seed, they're really good five seed,
and then they're different than what they've been in the past.
I think, what a lot of people, you know, go
back and remember some of those Wisconsin teams that had
kind of big guy down low and you know, kind
of worked more through the for the post. This is
a three point shooting team and they're playing a high
point team that I think is on the longest win
streak of anyone right now in college basketball. And it
(30:11):
only takes like one bad shooting night and playing against
a team that gets hot to get knocked off and
so like that's not necessarily a layup. And I look
at Perdue, So they're playing Queen's Royal right the first
time ever being in the tournament, and it's like the
excitement around that Perdue and how they match up and
Perdue should win that game. They're definitely one of the
(30:32):
best teams in the tournament. But you never know, man,
I mean.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
You never know.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
We've had what two to one seeds get knocked off
before now by a sixteen seed. It just it feels
like that's more capable now than ever before. Now.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
You mentioned Keith Gill who spoke afterwards just kind of
explaining the bracket.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
You talked about the you know, the first.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Four, the rematch that we're going to see Texas involved
in that he explained sort of some of the differences
in some of the irregularities for this bracket when putting
it together.
Speaker 8 (31:05):
We did have some bracketing irregularities. If you look in
the first four game between Texas and NC State. Normally
we try to avoid repeat matchups. Those teams played in
Maui earlier this year. But with the way that the
SEC field the bracket and the ACC field the bracket,
we couldn't find another first four matchup. We also couldn't
(31:26):
put them in a different region, and so we ended
up having to relax our relax our principle there, which
we're allowed to do, so that we could we could
complete the field.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
You know what I like about him just explains it
like this is why, this is why it happened. When
you watch some of the during the college football playoff
ranking shows, when they come out and try and explain
their reasoning behind putting a team in or having a
team out or it, like you can kind of feel
the agenda. Like you can feel the agenda, you can
feel sort of the explaining it a way to try
(31:58):
and make it make sense when it does it And
he's letting people know we tried to avoid this, we
couldn't avoid it.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
And here's why.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
An honest approach sounds like an honest guys.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Sound a little bit biased. Man, who me, Yeah, why
because you're a bigger basketball fan than you are football.
That's not true, that's what it is. That's not true.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
I don't know. That's cat what you just did. Man,
what do you mean how I feel about it? You
don't think there's some agendas during the.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
College there's agendas in college basketball sixty eight teams.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
So come on, man, this is sixty eight teams for reasons.
This would be sixty eight.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
This is an agenda free tournament, right, It's not like
the college football player.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Oh okay, yeah, okay, Well then I'll just ride with that.
I'll ride with that.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
Well.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
I think the difference is the way it's presented. There's
not as many I mean CBST and t treach. I
mean there's a bunch of different people. I mean, CBS
has had the tournament for a while now. It's on
a variety of networks though. From that regard, so it's
a little different. Like the NCAA has more of a
stranglehold too, I think on this because it's its prime
money maker, it's not, you know, quite the same when
(33:02):
you compare it to college football because of who has
controlled the media rites for that.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
But is Saint Patty's Day always the same time as
the tournament?
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (33:10):
That is such a horrible combination. Man, Oh my god,
you know how many times it's glorious. I mean, I
just I felt such a victim of it yesterday and
and and that hasn't even really gotten underway all like that.
I just, I mean, I was just in the spirit.
There's a whole lot of green t shirts out yesterday. Yeah,
(33:32):
man about it?
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Man, boy, Back when Brady was an Italian, that was
a big day for him.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
It's still a big day for our family.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah. Is it tomorrow? Hell yeah, man, the yearly tradition.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Brady's gonna tell people how they can celebrate some cabbage
and some pork.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
Yeah, thanks for signing up for that.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
I just like I always grew up and it was
corn beef and cabbage and that, you know, and you'd
have some beer whatever. I wasn't familiar with soda, bread,
green pancakes, the entire elaborate setup that goes into it.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
And because corn beef and cabbage, you can't feed the
kids like they don't want that.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
No, heck no, you got to force it, true, you
gotta get it for this yere right. You got to
give them no you gotta give them no choice.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Yeah, you know you're going to.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
You know what they'll do. They look me dead in
the eye and just see, all right, I'm not gonna eat.
I'm like, well you figured this one out, because I'm
not gonna sit here for an hour and a half
with you just looking at me, knotty out because they'll
frustrate me even more like they've they've easily figured me
out too.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Chet.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
It, Guys, in case you missed it, the Oscars were
last night.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
I definitely missed that.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Next up, we're gonna talk about Dominant and the world
of sports.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
I mean, who watched. I didn't watch.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
I know, I don't even know who was nominated. I
don't know who was even in running. Could not care less.
If you're not gonna have somebody come on stage and
assault somebody anymore than I'm out.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Like that's the only thing I want now, Please, Enough's enough.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
But you know, apparently that took place last night. I
wouldn't know, didn't watch, and anybody that did and chose
to watch that over the World Baseball Classic, I think
you should start questioning the decisions in your life.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
This is not not a good way to go.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
But speaking of country and pride in your country, you
know how at the Olympics the men's and women's hockey
teams both won gold, and they both you know, basically
felt like they took the sport away from Canada. And
you're probably thinking of yourself, no, no, don't be ridiculous.
(37:24):
Well it happened in the Paralympics as well too. The
United States beat the king in the Olympic Hockey finals,
so that means it's a it's a total sweep from
the hockey standpoint. Plus, the Americans just beat Canada in
the world in the World Baseball Classic. So I feel like,
(37:48):
is it fair to say that hockey is America's sport now?
Is it fair to say? Because some Canadians are going
to get really sensitive about that and really upset. But
proof is in the pudding and they're winning every single event,
recently against Canada.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
I don't I've gone that far, but it's been a
good year, man. I'll take it all right. And I'd
love some free shipments of good old maple syrup.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Yeah, well you get it from somewhere else though, couldn't you.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Yeah, it probably can't.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
And we knocked off the Dominican in baseball. I mean
it is a good year for us. Yeah, you know,
I mean people would say that the Dominican is you know,
that's the place of what baseball?
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Right?
Speaker 4 (38:29):
It did look like an all star lineup last night
the Skemes was taken on. I was like, oh, all right,
we'll see this guys.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah, there you go. I mean they got to him
one time. But you know, you would you wouldn't say
that baseball is america sport. You would say, uh.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
More, I would say that more people would think that
it isn't an American sport.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Really, yes, I mean they do say it's America's pastime.
It well, maybe it's a Dominicans current time.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Yeah, you don't think it's America's past time anymore?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
What do they get is football?
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Now?
Speaker 3 (39:03):
I don't think America has a past time anymore, really, Yeah,
because it's too expensive to pass You do realize it
is the literal meaning of the word, the term or
the two words, is past time. Like people used to
again pack lunches and take their kids and go sit
on a hill, or go sit some bleachers and pass
(39:25):
the time, or sit in front of a radio and
listen to the games and pass the time.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
I had no idea.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
That's why you got to spend way too much money
now to pass time. So it's like not really, I
don't know that any sport is America's past time.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
But right now, bang for your buck entertainment wise.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
I mean, you could go to a movie theater and
watch the crap they rolled out last night at the Oscars,
or you could.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Watch a game.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Yeah, But collectively speaking, who's like surrounding Like you know,
people used to like really like sit out in front
of corner store, like local corner stores and listen to
the games, whether it was baseball or football, like they
used like there used to be a lot of traditions
that were connected to past times. And it's not like
(40:12):
that anymore. So I don't know now that might have
been a little bit too deep for it, but maybe
not deep at all, but deep. Yeah, but I don't
think that people believe that the sport of baseball or
hockey is dominated by American athletes.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Well, we got it. This is the year we got it.
Took over hockey in the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
We say basketball too, are one the WBC as well too. Well,
there you go.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
They're either going to get the eye Ties, which are
full of Americans, or they're going to get Venezuela, which
is not.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
So if Italy gets in, we can celebrate all around.
Let's see what happened.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Yeah,
