interesting tactic that may backfire for one team in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We've still got faith.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
We've still got faith, at least some of us do
when it comes to what the Cleveland Cavaliers can do
in trying to get that to a Game five tiede
against the Detroit Pistons. Plus, we're gonna have another edition
of the leftovers we've got in case you missed it,
and we've got the usual fun stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:21):

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Man, dangress time I heard that.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
I guess I never thought you were important enough to
pay attention to.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Havn't slashed?
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Maybe you know what, Maybe it's because I'm on the
East coast, shouts out to d m V. I.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I'm Indian the district.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Maybe it's because I'm more awake, more alert at this
hour on the East coast than on the West coast.
I just noticed it today. Okay, well, shouts off the
Jonas man. Good for you, man, good, good for you that.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
Oh sorry, sorry and listen you know hey, yeah, y'all
go listen to your boy day.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
I'm old. Hey, I'm old man.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm
as good as i'm going get. I tell you that
that story ain't going I know that ain't how you say,
because I don't care about the song.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
I just gave you what I was giving.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
I just gave you what I was giving you, like
I was giving it for radio.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
This is my favorite bar.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
The wind kissed my ass and then my old spice.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
We do need to come like we need uh to
set the parameters on on the wager we made on that.
By the way, at some point during the course of
the show, yes, we do. Because here's no just because
the story is out there and burner accounts.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Don't do that.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Bro, I mean, what do you want him to do?
Speaker 4 (03:59):
No, white boy?
Speaker 5 (04:02):
No? Well that is true. I mean when you put
it in that term and that that context. I mean,
what else would he do because if he black, if
he black boy made like that, that would be way offensive,
right yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Or other anyway?
Speaker 5 (04:21):
Yeah, man, I mean, what do you want to do
with the wager?
Speaker 4 (04:25):
What do you want to do? I want to call it?
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Well, no, because just because people are talking about the
story and just because it's out there the Ravo Rassini stuff,
doesn't mean that you were right. That's like that. That's
where I look at this. I go, well, yeah, it's
gonna get brought up because people are digging into that. Okay, Yeah,
(04:50):
people are digging into it. So of course it's going
to get brought up there. I mean people are making
claims he's got some burner account that got deleted yesterday.
Like there's of course there's going to be tentacles to
the story. I think we need a cut and dry
because you can find the articles and clips to that
story anywhere. Now a cut and dry is he the
coach by week one?
Speaker 4 (05:11):
That should be, but you've changed it. You changed it.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I think, yeah, now you're trying to move the goalposts.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
I agree, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
The problem. Look, Jonah springs up a good point. The
problem that we're going to have is, you know, you claim,
like someone's tweet about Vrabel and Rassini is like, yep,
story still, but it's not like that's not like a report,
new information anything else. There's got to be it's gotta
be somewhere in the middle where it actually keeps being
(05:40):
reported on, keeps being like we have another you know,
report from someone about a boat rental or something like that.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
You know what I'm saying, that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, speculation, Okay, you know what, Let's just do away
with the bet.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
How the funniest thing. Let's just do away with the
bet altogether.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Because the funniest thing I saw.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
Though about the whole boat rental, because obviously the video
came out yesterday. Is a guy like because it would tag,
it would like pause in the video and it would tag,
be like vrabel and then it would pause the video
and tag and be like Racini.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
And he's like, why do you need the tags? He's like,
is anyone confused by who's who?
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Looked?
Speaker 8 (06:25):
Anything floats like he goes. He started adding tags, and
he tags to the doc. It's like, we don't need tags.
We know who and what exactly the nature of this was,
so we.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Don't need anything else to help us.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
So the more I see the videos and the pictures
and the reports come out, I gotta admit like I'm
finding myself to be a little bit curious. I feel
like I feel like a leak needs to happen soon.
What I feel like a Holy Fans leak needs to
(07:03):
happen soon. It's just I feel like a B Bro's
b Bros leak needs to happen soon. I don't know,
I've just found myself curious, Like I keep seeing them,
they keep putting them together.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Why why am I mind and I had.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
When I saw that video yesterday, I'm like, dang, you know,
this is what it is. You know why they went
on that boat. You know what happened on the boat.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
I mean the spending.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
But I found myself thinking about the boat, and I
was like, huh, they got footage of them walking to
the boat.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Why don't we have footage of them on the boat.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
There's some there's some stuff with sound. There's stuff out
there where people are taking people are taking liberties of
live Look at Rabel and Racini on the boat all
and I'm thinking of myself. This opened up a door
for so many opportunities for people to just take take
(08:06):
a run and continue on because there's so many awful
videos out there that can be applied to this story,
and and a lot of them are involving them where
you know, she's making you know, saying stuff on videos
and zoom calls and stuff like there's all all of
this stuff is out there.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
It's like it just it's that moment like you've been
looking at something like I think I had footage of them,
like oh.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Man, right there and grab that.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Let me pull that, let me pull up piece of
footage up like look at how they're playing around with
one another on this interview.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
It's it's also now brought in.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
It's also now brought in non sports where you know TMZ.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
But like all these other publications.
Speaker 5 (08:52):
That are out there telling you, there're the ones that's
going to keep reporting. I don't know what y'all want
to call reporting or whatever, I don't know, it going
to be TMZ.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
That continues and continue to report.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Because because they also have a little egg on their
face because they were offered the photos from Arizona first
and they declined, and so the New York Post got
them and then they ran with it, and so now
they're trying to just to save face.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
They've got to catch So it's a TMZ is now got.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
So there's probably a lot of a lot of people
seeing this story who weren't familiar with Rabel and Rasini
at all.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
It's captured everybody's attention.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
So I think that, yeah, you're gonna see jokes, and
you're gonna see stuff and and and little things that
come out. I just you know, we need a clear
understanding as to what is the story. It's not that
big of a deal to me. It's going to be
continued to talk about be talked about. However, y'all want
to try to define it. It's not it's no interest
(09:58):
in me, Like, it's fine, we could call the bet.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I will say this.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
This ain't going nowhere, Solomon say. The story isn't going anywhere,
So get used to it. It's going to be a
part of daily conversations for a really long time. It's
just again, I'll say it again. It's just the perfect
storm of a scandal. Like there's significance to both sides.
(10:26):
You have a significant figure that just like, you know,
what's interesting. If he doesn't coach them to the super
Bowl and have the history connected to the Patriots the
way that he does, it's probably not as big a story.
If it's just Diana Rassini, the insider that was getting
it in with the head coach of this team, it's
(10:47):
probably not as big a story. But the fact that
she is an insider, and she is popular, and she
has been lauded and praised for the work that she does,
and she's one of the top in the industry and
is very high paid, and it was working for the
athletic and then you have this coach that takes a
Little Hiatus comes back and in his first year, takes
(11:13):
one of the most historic and value and success franchises
that he helped build that history with to a super
Bowl in its first season. If you're telling me this
storyline isn't scintillating, If you're telling me that this storyline
(11:35):
is not the type of storyline that will grab your
attention for a really long time after it, then scandals
are done. They're dead and gone, and there's no reason
for anybody to report on scandals and talk about them
because there's not going to be too many storylines with
the type of characters that are in this one where
(11:56):
you're able to have the type of attention that it's
going to command.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
It's just the reality of this.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
I ain't do it, and I feel bad for them,
I really do, because they should have just been able
to just have a good time, like, Okay, you got
caught up, Admit you got caught up.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Move on from it. It's just not how it works.
But just not how it works.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
You know what else isn't ending anytime soon? The dominance
of the Oklahoma City thunder. That's not gonna end anytime So.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
That that's a hard pivot and it's well, we got
to get the sports at some point. It's it's so
I mean, no, I'm just saying pivot like almost like
how they was pivoting and scoring and driving and shooting.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
And maneo, it's fowling to you know, it's a rap.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
It's a rap.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
It's a rap for your class, your clappeliers too, like
they getting.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Clapp whoa whoa, whoa whoa what another pivot.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
To?
Speaker 7 (13:00):
Now, a lot of series left, pal, lot of serious left, all.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Right, Detroit, Okay, see belt, this is a belt series.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (13:11):
You know what a belt series is?
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Can someone help me understand this.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Michael I belt? This is a belt.
Speaker 7 (13:20):
Today Friday, May eight.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Do you know in the next time the Calves and
Pistons play.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Oh, it should be two days Sunday or something like that.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
It's Monday. They don't play until Monday night. M like that.
This is part of my issue. It's part of my issue.
Speaker 7 (13:40):
With the NBA playoffs, some of these series. I mean, what,
maybe it'll help Cleveland to to have a little bit
of a break.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
They obviously prolonged them going home and getting.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
What I'm missing a game somewhere there is there a
game three on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Yeah, they're playing Saturday.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Okay, but but in years past, and by the way,
if if the conference times.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
They take off so many briaks, it's like, I don't
know why they I understand the travel, but we're talking
about Detroit to Cleveland. It's not far, Like you don't
you don't need to like have that big of a
break in all this.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yes, you do.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
You gotta you gotta stretch it out, you know, you
got sometimes you gotta put water with the milk, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
But this is understand that.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
But it also it kills viewership milking.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
And and it also what will ended up happening is
after the conference finals. The worst case scenario for the
NBA is at the conference finals are quick series, because
then it's really drawn out into the finals because that's
already played in advance. They already know the date of
the start of the finals. And so if you get
a four or five game series in the Eastern or
Western Western conference finals, everybody's sitting around scratching their ass
(14:49):
waiting for the finals to start, and all of this
other stuff has happened. It just yeah, I look, I'm
with you, man, I think it takes way too long.
I think the NBA playoffs going on for what is
it two much when it's all said and done, like
we're just in the town they finish, right, that's no,
it'll be closed August. It might be Christmas.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
But that's I just I don't understand. Yeah, like it's
really I would say this, it is. It is.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Uh, it is nice to see that. They're like, you
know what, you got nothing else going on, You'll wait
for us. You got you got no other plans, you
get no other life, You'll wait for us.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Okay, they're not wrong.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I mean, if I were them, avoid you know, anything
NFL related, if rafts schedule all that stuff.
Speaker 7 (15:36):
If Detroit wins Saturday, I'll give it to you. The
series is over, okay. But if Cleveland can hold hold
home Court, it could be a series and we'll see
what what comes back, you know, later on. But I
just I don't know. Man, the Pistons are on a heater.
They feel like they've got all that momentum. I don't
think they can get past the Knicks, assuming the Knicks
(15:56):
or that who we're going to be representing the East.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
But I'm still.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Hopeful, you know, still hopeful.
Speaker 7 (16:01):
I mean Doavin Mitchell is like breaking guy's hips out there,
so he said.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
He did well, but James Harden didn't.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Man, I know, well, it just ain't gonna be It's
just not going to be good enough. And now I'm
finding myself seeing this Detroit Pistons team find their you know,
they're they're finding their rhythm. Like Orlando could have made
it easy on your Calves back by actually upsetting a
(16:34):
Detroit team that was coming into this the most dangerous
team in the East, and they didn't finish them off
and you let them live.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
That series will be to two. But when they get
back to Detroit, Calves are both at home, it'll be
too two.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
When they get back to Detroit.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
And the next two yea, Calves anna win the next
two games almost, Yeah's top coun.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
This is no This is what y'all failed to understand,
Mongoose and and Maverick. What y'all fail to understand is
it doesn't matter how much confidence y'all said with it
in y'all's voices. They might get one game.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
They're getting too They getting too.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Support betting and booming for bet They're gonna be booming
for the cat man. Yeah, out of here. They're about
to get that belt. It's a belt series, get that belt,
shouts out to my man Till two. Man, I'm up,
I'm up at. I'm back in my old digs. And
when I got to the door, I'm like, man like
(17:44):
it's it's a little dark out. It's downtown. They're doing construction.
There's like scaffolds up.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
And walking around like where am I at?
Speaker 5 (17:51):
And I see it and I get into the door
and it's like dang, and and I hear a voice
and I'm like that sound familiar.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
And then Tim came around the corner. Man, tell me
my engineer.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
When we were doing our live our live remotes for
like the Caps games and the baseball and the national.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
I still doing it.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I'm still out here, man. So he's up in here
with me this morning. So it's pretty cool. Man, this
is where it all started for me, you know. So
pretty cool that he was he was here at the building.
So man, anyway, he's always my hike mad Like, I
feel funny when I'm around Till because I feel like
Tim understands me.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
He'd be laughing at my corniness. So it's kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Tim so yeah, and I also I look at it
and I go, if we get this series two games apiece,
you get a game five there, next thing, you know,
Cleveland gets on a little heater and they could close
this thing out in game six.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
We've seen this happen in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
If the Cleveland Cavaliers win this series, I'll get a
sex change.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
I'm trying to support. I'm trying to.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Already on it.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
Yes, thank you for the Patti sweet I know you
tried to whisper that because you didn't want to stand
on it ten tones down.
Speaker 9 (19:07):
I'm just making I'm just having fun with it. You
know what, you got to do it if the come back,
because you and Jonas can get a discounting.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Here's the thing.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
If Jonahs didn't do it then, and how many years
ago was that.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Oh god, it's a long time ago.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
At least get I at least get that much time
to not do it, and then once Jonas does it, then.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
We'll talk about if I have to pay up. That's
if I were to lose the bet.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
But I just wanted to bring this back to Jonas
so I could put Jonas on blast for not living
up to his bet and and what he put out there. See,
that's why I don't like betting with y'all because y'all
don't pay up.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Y'all, don't pay up.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
On your bet.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
You were supposed to change.
Speaker 5 (19:54):
You're supposed to be Jonas Janis was something you're still.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Even though yack like a bit, all right.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I mean, you bring a guy bacon earlier in the
week you think it'll buy you a compliment?
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Good man, I ain't gonna lie to you. I bake it,
bring it up. I see I've been sending in your videos.
I'm trying to smoke it.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
I brought I brought varn some smoked bacon that my
brother did. He preps his own bacon, and uh, stuff
is tasty, man, it's tasty.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
I'm not even a bacon guy.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Pork bacon, beef bacon.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Work super thick though. That meat was super thick. Man.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Also, we had this, Uh we were talking about this.
Uh do you like beef ribs or baby back ribs.
It's got to be baby back, right.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
I don't know. Beef ribs have done right are pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
The problem is it's really hard to do him right.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
That's the case.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
Yeah, that's that's the point you don't have somebody's smoking, right.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
That's but that's it's a very strong point, Brady Quinn.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Because when you're playing for the Chiefs, there's probably gotta
be rib joints everywhere out there, I would assume.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Yeah, but most most were baby like most of pork.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
I just feel like pork ribs.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Man.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
Man, they're so good, yeah, man, so good. And beef,
like you said, like, you gotta get it right with
beef otherwise it just ain't it ain't right. It just
ain't right. I don't know, man, But pork ribs. That's swine.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
I know they say you can't you can't get lost
in the swine. But man, it's so fine, it's so tasty.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I didn't know they said that.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yeah, the swine. Don't mess with the swine.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
Who's they?
Speaker 4 (21:47):
I mean it's in the Bible too, I mean biblically speaking.
You got Biblical on us, is what you're saying. I'm
just saying, you know, it was mentioned a few times
in the Good Book.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
Well for the ones who get it done, and grams
are office access still have a million products of the
still deliver when and where you need them. The right
tools and supplies. They're never far away. Call clip Grainger
dot com or just stop by.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
By the way. I forgot to uh, I forgot to
mention this at the top. And you know it's a.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Football Friday, Football Friday here far Why don't you you
and Tim start swiveling your hips over there?
Speaker 4 (22:27):

Speaker 1 (25:23):
I have no idea, but I do know this.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
That was a dope intro though, Come on, what you got.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
It is time for the tire rack.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Play of the day, payd in front half book on
the run, doesn't go David's with a rebound back.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Up and no tapped up it in by a star
Asar Thompson with a big tap.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Now Pistons are up one ozho three to ninety five
a minute in eighteen left Piston's radio network on the call. Sorry, Brady,
I don't know I Mark did that to you. It's
just rude. I mean, you know, we're trying to recover
from a loss. He's gonna play a highlight from it.
It's just out of line. You gotta be ashamed of yourself,
Mark for that disgusting behavior. But for over forty years,
(26:04):
tire Rack's been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Shipped fast and freeback by
free road, hasard protection, with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation, tirerac dot com the way tire buying should be.
All right, So we've got an understanding. This has been
speculated around people. You know, just assume this was going
to happen sooner rather than later. But the NCAA tournament
(26:26):
is expanding. It's going to increase to seventy six teams,
all right. We talked about that a couple of weeks
ago that it looked like it was going to be finalized.
But we now have sort of an idea as to
what that is going to look like. This, according to ESPN,
with the increased to seventy six, the first four doubleheaders
(26:47):
on back to back days in Dayton will be replaced
by a twelve game opening round The Tuesday and Wednesday
of the men's tournament will feature twelve games played by
twenty four teams in two different cities. There will now
be three games each day in Dayton and three games
each day in the second city yet to be determined,
(27:10):
with sources telling ESPN's Pete Famil that the second site
is expected to be west of the Eastern time zone
to help with logistics. So basically, it's another tournament to
get into the tournament. What are we doing? And I
just what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
I just three hundred million in extra funding for new sponsors. Okay,
all right, I'll tell I'll tell you what what we're doing.
Opened up alcohol category and sponsorships out wine are.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Squad and report because.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Like here we go, I'm just saying money. It's about
the money. I assume it's about infatuated with me and Clode,
Like what is roll with y'all? Bet stop bringing me
and Clode up. I just I just look at what Okay.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
I stop falling around on which are from Claude whatever?
Speaker 4 (28:04):
But let me which are Let me put your facts
from Brady Quinn? Well, where do your so from?
Speaker 3 (28:12):
It's not just one source.
Speaker 7 (28:15):
And what I would try to do, and I would
I would try to say to a lot of people
what you should do is you should take what you
get from Claude, but you should also question it and
you should research it to make sure it's accurate, because
it's not always accurate. Like, for example, no, the windfall
you're talking about most tournaments, most you know, whatever it is,
Like it's the college fall Playoff with nca tournament. The
(28:36):
majority of the money comes in from TV. So you're
adding what you said.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
How many additional teams, twelve additional teams, eight additional teams,
whatever it is. Those are back end of the tournament games.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
They're not going to dramatically increase the revenue that's generated
from TV. So it begs the question if the bottom
line isn't really going to increase that much because they're
back end of the games. Like imagine the first round.
Like we look at college football and we're like, well,
those first round games are awesome, Like, okay, are they though?
If we go to twenty four, are those games actually
(29:13):
gonna be that competitive? I mean, hell, we don't get
competitive games now in the first round of the college
football Playoff. We don't get that many competitive games in
the NCAA tournament, like in the first round, forget the
playing games, So they're not gonna fetch a big number
from for the TV media rights, just more inventory at
(29:34):
the end of the day when those rights come up again.
So like, what is truly the motivation behind this? Is
it just they want more inclusiveness so they have more teams.
That's gonna say, they have a shot at it. I
just I don't really understand it, Like I do think
if you're going to expand the NCAA tournament, it does
dilute the regular season.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
It makes the conference tournaments.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
Worthless, and it gets to the point where you're like, well, okay,
how big do you want this thing to be? I mean,
when we start talking about these subjects, you can really
look at other professional sports leagues and start to say,
like maybe we should start looking at some of these
other formats to determine like how this should work. And
you know, like for example, in English soccer, there's a
(30:18):
thing called FA Cup where like everyone gets to plant
in England and it doesn't really dwindle down to the
big teams until you get to certain rounds. But it
feels like that's what this is. It's like because we
have three hundred plus men's you know, NCY basketball teams,
we need to make it more inclusive for some of
those teams to be involved, when in reality we're actually
making it harder for those teams that the best teams
(30:39):
win a national championship, Like I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
The best teams always gonna winenses of it though, and
it has to make financial sense to continue to add teams.
There's no other reason to add teams. There's there's no
other reason in the NFL to add games other than
to increase your bottom line.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Sure, but again, like.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
When when you add when you add.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
Teams to the playoffs, right, that's such a small number.
Fourteen teams make it out of thirty two. Right now,
when we're talking about the NCAA tournament, like you're adding
on some at large bids, like these are teams? Where
are bowl teams the past that wouldn't have made it?
And so now just.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Because the why can't I think of.
Speaker 7 (31:23):
The name of the other tournament, n I and the
n it's basically go gone away.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
There's no significance to it now.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
And we've tried to see these other pop up tournaments
to pay for players essentially, like which you know haven't
really got any steam. So you look at you just
go all right, like what like, we're really just doing
this to appease the bigger conferences and adding a few
more teams from the conference like that. That's what this
is about.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
And can't do that if you're going to take a
loss on doing it, you can't.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
I never said they're going to take a loss, but
they're not going to make millions more just from adding
you know, a few more games the back end of it.
Speaker 5 (31:58):
If it's it's three hundred million, I'm on with three
hundred I mean. And again y'all could say claude, but
LeVar actually does look up the topics that we're going
to talk about, and I actually compare my opinions with
my buddy, my bestie, Clode. Me and Clode go back
and forth about I debate with Clode before I debate
(32:18):
with you guys. At the bottom line here is it
is about the bottom line, and it is impacting the
bottom line. And if they can, if they can add teams,
and the expense is going to be covered off on it,
and you can add more sponsorship because there is more
inventory for you to do it. It's a very simple deal. Like,
that's what it is. You added more games to get
(32:40):
more more inventory, to get more money.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
And if you have that line.
Speaker 7 (32:43):
I found out where you got your three million from.
Well where it not only it only adds fifty million
per year on average.
Speaker 12 (32:50):
Hey, listen, I took the so it's for the take. Okay,
but is it actual information? It's no, no, no, it's.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
It's Can I answer or are you just gonna keep interrupting?
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Go?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Are you going to be waiting for moments that are
we gonna have this? Let's go go? You're struck my point?
Speaker 4 (33:15):
All right?
Speaker 1 (33:16):
All right, so this is the same exact Brady, But
this is my You just don't stop talking.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
And you don't stop saying claude, So this is stop
getting got issues?
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Well you stop getting.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Sensitive, all right, So all right, let's break it up.
Back back to your corners.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
All right.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
So this is the uh, this is my thought on
this whole thing.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
Crazy. I'm a grown ass man.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Okay, hold on, buddy, stopping so sensitive. Don't buddy me.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Don't buddy me in these moments.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
I'm just saying I found out when your number came
from additional revenue, that's all they're saying.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
So it's a real number year.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
I'll kick you off this boat right now. Knock it
off the boat. Okay. So this is my if, and
you're seeing this.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
In sports everywhere where every league is trying to figure
out a way that they can incorporate more teams into
their playoff format. And to Brady's point, remember when the
Big East Tournament used to be a big deal. Remember
the ACC Tournament in Greensboro used to be a big deal.
Those are nobody's going to give a rip about any
of that stuff anymore. Like that's like that's going to
(34:26):
go bye bye because you're including so many more teams.
It's it's almost as if every league is trying to
manufacture a sense of urgency because they realize, why would
people care about this?
Speaker 1 (34:39):
There's got to be something on the line.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
And if we can't convince them on conference tournaments, or
we can't convince them on big regular season games, we'll
just explain expand the playoffs even more. And you're just
biting into the regular season every time you do it.
And I don't know what that means long term, but
you can have the conversation about the NFL and the schedule.
It used to be twelve games, it got fourteen or sixteen,
(35:04):
then it was seventeen. It's gonna be eighteen soon. I
don't think they're gonna stop at seventy six. I think
after a couple of years, there's gonna be more, and
there's gonna be more, and it's like, all right, well,
why don't we just toss the ball up on midnight
Madness like they do every year and just make that
the tournament start of the postseason right then and there,
because what's what is left of the regular season after
(35:26):
any of this stuff? Seventy six teams? We got sixty
four like we had playing games, a lot of teams
too many. Man, it's literally a nether tournament just to
get into the tournament. And people thought the first four
in or the Dayton Tournament was a little odd, but
then it's like, all right, you know what, it's kind
(35:47):
of cool. They throw it in date in a tradition
every year, and whoever gets in, they'll grab a sixteen
seed or an eleven seed like Texas did this year,
and then you start filling out your brackets.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Has a playing team made it?
Speaker 7 (36:00):
We know that Texas would have been Texas would have
been the longest that made it this year, right because
they played in and then they won I think, and
got into the.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Get the sweet sixteen.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
I think so. Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
But also, no one's ever won it, No playing team
has never made it to championship round, never won it.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
No, I don't think so. I mean, it hasn't been
around that long anyway. Like with the four plan, I
would say this, I went to this year's between SMU
and Miami, and it was awesome. Like, don't get me wrong,
it was an incredible environment. It might have been the
most fun I've ever had in a basketball game. That
being said, I just to the point of the regular
(36:42):
season everything else, I do think. You look at men's
college basket one, at some point there's a cutoff. You've
got three hundred plus Division one teams. At some point
you look at and say, can that team that qualifies
from the small conference? Like, I know, that's how we've
always done it, but we're changed just a landscape in
all these different ways, and I just I'm not sure
(37:04):
anyone wants to see that that small school playing a
playing game. And again, these are mostly gonna be at
large bids anyway, But like I just that's what you
become more susceptible to.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
So I understand what in saying that. Like miam Vi
High was that team this year.
Speaker 7 (37:19):
They were in that large bid that put the committee
in a really tough spot because they didn't win the MAC.
But they had an incredible season and they did win
that game. They beat SMU, so they got into at
least the first round and that was the end of
the story.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
It was a great season.
Speaker 7 (37:32):
But you know, I just I don't know how many
more of those games you really need, or how many
more of those teams you really need, or it's gonna
give you a chance to extend this tournament. I think
you're only creating a scenario where the best teams are
are going to be likely to stumble, and that doesn't
again create the best team actually, you know, having the
best shot of winning like they should based on the
(37:53):
work they've done in the regular season and maybe even
conference play.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
By the way, it's not VCU in twenty eleven got
to the Final four. UCLA got to the Final four,
and I think that might have been the VCU team
that I've said, Duke, when you was in uh, twenty eleven.
Twenty eleven got to the final four, So how.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Long has they have the Playan's been around thee.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
Eleven that's right.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
I mean, I didn't think it was around that long,
but apparently you know, time flies when you're losing brackets
left and right.
Speaker 5 (38:28):
But man, I think it's I think those are some
solid points that that you just makee Q I do.
I still say at the end of the day, if
if it's not about the money, and it's about something
else outside of that, then to me, you gotta you
gotta put away like the feelings of all Miami of Ohio,
(38:51):
they they deserve to be like. You got to put
away any type of emotions or feelings about lesser I
hate to say it, lesser universities having great, great records.
You gotta put it away because you can't compromise a
top tier team for the sake of saying that this
was a feel good story over here in this conference,
(39:11):
a matching conference where we need to see what that is.
I don't I if that's the only reason for doing
it is to appease that way, it's a waste of time.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
If you ask me, it is two Pros and a
Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next,

sports or entertainment.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Good thing the guys are here to bring you in
case you.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Missed it, Guys, in case you missed this end of
the road, Taylor Heineke has announced his retirement from the
NFL he took the social media yesterday. He was one
of the darlings of COVID during the COVID era. If
anybody remembers that, where everybody's walking around in masks, you
couldn't stand within six ft of each other. Kind of
a wild time in this country. But nonetheless Washing, Yeah, Washington,
(40:44):
guy out there in your neck of the woods. And
he actually started a playoff game. Was Washington signed him
in case anybody got COVID that year. He was sleeping
on his sister's couch at the time when he got
the call and ended up having to start a playoff game.
Played pretty well all things considered, and ended up losing
to Tampa Bay, who went on to win the Super Bowl.
So not a bad run for Taylor. Heineke got it,
(41:07):
got his opportunities on. It's yeah man, you know, drinking
drinking beers. They named a beer after him, and every day, whoa.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
Whoa, whoa. Where you get this information from? John? Come on, man,
slow down, oh boy, slow down.
