Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming
up on this Thursday edition and gotta let him know.
And there's a lot on the line if the Cleveland
Cavaliers and James Harden pull off the win over Detroit
in the Eastern Conference SEMIS. You'll listen in here and
find out why the things you say on this show
(00:20):
will be held against you, apparently in a court of law.
We're also going to have a conversation about the NFL
schedule release, So why exactly are they starting the year
with that game? We think we know, we think we
have the answer. Speaking of answers, do we have an
answer for the solution that is the college Football Playoff?
Apparently we're talking twenty four teams now, pros and cons
(00:42):
to all that. We're also gonna draw names from a
hat for the PGA Championship. The Great Albert Brear's gonna
stop by, and we've got the leftovers. It's all yours.
Coming up next here, Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe on a Thursday, Fox Sports Radio. Oh, we're gonna
(01:06):
let him know here on Two Pros and a cup
of joe. Here on a Thursday morning, it is LaVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. You can find us
on the iHeartRadio app on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country. If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate
you doing so, and we are often running on this
(01:26):
three hour extravaganza, taking you all the way up until
dynam Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. Hey, gotta let them know, Brady,
that's right, gotta let them know. Caves are back.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Three in a row.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
We try to tell you no, no one one to
listen three in a row. We'll close it out in
the next game, move on to New York Knicks. Sorry, sorry,
got it.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
By the way, we are brought to you by the
Home Depot. Time is money. That's why the Home Depot
has pricing built for pros so you can save both.

I gotta tell you, man, I'm I'm actually genuinely I'm
not being a smart ass, all right, not being condescending,
(02:10):
not trying to be a Douche. Genuinely happy for James Harden.
I really am, because I think there's been this label
that's been put on him, all playoff failure and all that,
and look, some of that I guess has deserved. I
think people also lose sight of the fact that he
is a first ballot Hall of Famer and a great
player who's had a great career and to see him
(02:31):
show out like that in a place that he hasn't
been at for that long pretty impressive.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Man.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
He's one of the all time great scores in NBA history.
That's not hyperbole. That is truth. He is and that's
what he's going to go down the Hall of Fame for.
But they're not done. You know, he's not done, and
last night was huge for him. Was that a career
high for playoff points? Like for that, or at least
a playoff bestly like that narrative. He is slow starting
(03:01):
to turn around. Now again, they got to win and
close this one out. But if you could find a
way to get to the finals and they do it
on the back of James Harden at his age, it'd
be incredible. I mean, that would be an unbelievable story,
especially considering what they've got coming up. If they can
get past Detroit and then take on the New York Knicks,
(03:22):
that's it's gonna be an uphill battle. But I'll tell
you this much, it was a team effort. There are
some times where I was watching I'm doubting because it
was almost like, you know, I'd be watching ID it'd
be a tight game. The next thing you know, you
walk out of the room, come back in, they'd be
down twelve. I'm like, I'm not sure what's going on here.
But there were some big time swings and Cleveland just
(03:43):
never went away. So credit to the Cavaliers too to
keep fighting.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
So the star of the game, James Harden, spoke postgame
about his performance and he illustrated the fact the listen, man,
it just hasn't had a lot of opportunity to work
with these guys. He's only been there a short time.
Let's take a listen.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
This is new for me.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
So like we keep talking about, you know, like I've
only been here two and a half months, you know
what I mean. So like the things that we were
going through is all new, you know, So like learning
how to be you know, in second option and feed
and playoff Donovan, you know, wanting to be aggressive, you know,
when he has it going, like the last game second half,
(04:23):
like he did some things that we we haven't seen
in a very very long time, you know what I mean.
So it's like, you know, and he's capable of doing
that in every single game, So you know, finding when
to be aggressive, when to be a playmaker and things
like that. So and then offensively finding what works for us,
you know, for me to be successful, to get guys
you know, shots and open looks. So it all comes
into together, and I think we're building in the right direction.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
And throughout that process, there's.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Going to be some you know times where you know,
we don't look as great, but I think overall, we
all got the right mindset of wanting to help each
other be better, and you know, I think we're finding
that as of lately.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I can imagine, like you've talked about this for where
if you're a quarterback and you've got to learn a
new playbook, it's like learning a new language every single time.
You got to do it. And I can imagine in
the middle of a season, he gets dealt and you
just got to integrate into that team, accept your role
(05:19):
that you're going to be the number two. It's going
to be Donovan Mitchell who's going to be the star
of the show. And you got to just find how
it is that you fit in. Oh and by the way,
you don't have a preseason to do it. You've got
the rest of the regular season and then the postseason
where if you don't do it well enough, you guys
are going home. It's kind of a difficult task without.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
A doubt, and you're trying to you know, people act
like they're practicing to the course of the season that
they really don't.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
You know, you're trying to maintain.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
You're trying to do your best you can to recover,
to prepare yourself for the games. So it's not like
they're able to in real time really get a lot
or develop a lot of that chemistry with one another.
It has to happen through the course of playing games.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
So you're starting to see it come together.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
They've done it in the most critical moment of their season,
in particular in the semis of the Eastern Conference Finals.
So I just I look at it and say, this
is giving me hope and optimism that maybe if they
can they can close out this series, they can take
on the New York Knicks, and that can be a
competitive series because the Knicks look to be by far
(06:22):
away the best team in the East. I will say
this man, just to switch gears a little bit, Kate
Cunningham's to the legit score. I mean, he's obviously been that,
you know, this entire season, but last night I thought,
you know, what the Cavs were able to do outshined him.
But obviously to drop what thirty nine points with nine
as sists and everything else, I mean, he was clutch,
(06:43):
he was consistent. He's he's already a star, but like
he's something special for years to come for Detroit.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, no, he's fun to watch, and it's good to
see it. It's good to see these classic franchises get
back into the conversation and be a threat again, because
Detroit was a laughing stock for years, all right, for years,
and so to see them get back and actually be
prominent again, I mean, look, you got eminem and fifty cent.
(07:11):
You know, we're sitting on the sidelines there. They probably
have no idea who any of these guys are, but
the fact that they're there, all right, that's not true. Well,
I mean the fact the fact that the.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Man like I'll tell you em them falls all that stuff,
he's into that and send to a fifty cent.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Those guys know who everyone is.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
But the fact that they are a prominent and a
threat in the Eastern Conference, I think is fun for
the league. I think it's great for everybody.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
JB. Bickerstaff is still you know, how did you feel
about the non call at the end of regulation? It
was Jared Allen who kind of you know, yeah, seemed incidental,
seemed like there was a little bit of contact going
both ways, But I didn't think it was egregious enough
to where you've got to blow the whistle there in
a situation like that.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Me personally, I'm just going to say it, in that scenario,
I don't know that you can call that. Again, that's
just my opinion of end of game plays. You know,
like someone based cast to get mugged shot, you know,
and in order for it to be able to be called.
But that's just me. Yeah, I know, not everyone feels
that way. Do we have a cut of maybe someone
(08:18):
you know talking about that?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
I mean, you listen, JB. Bickerstaff, the head coach of
the Pistons. You know, he spoke about Kenny Atkinson kind
of grooving the officials and getting all the calls and
Games three. In Games four, and he spoke about that
non call late Jared Allen.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Hey, coach, did they give you a reason why there
wasn't no foul call on his on Jared Allen on edge?
It's I mean clear he trips him when he's going
for a loose ball in the game situation.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
You know that's tough.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, Okay, dude, we could We could play that game
all we want, on every single play of every single possession,
if we really want to do that. Did anybody ask him?
I didn't listen to the entire press conference. Did anybody
ask him why nobody blocked out James Harden on that
rebound on his free throw attempt? Like anybody ask him
about that? It just I feel like that's become the
(09:10):
crutch of a lot of coaches this postseason, and it
feels like that's been the story of the postseason. Last
year it was the injuries, and this year in the
NBA playoffs, it's coach is not happy with officiating, and
I get it, they're gonna miss calls from time to time.
That's a long ass game that went five periods. You
had an opportunity to figure it out and get get
(09:33):
it done at home. They couldn't do it. I don't
know that you point to that call is the reason
that you lost the game.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Sorry, do you feel like this is one of those
series now with where we're at, that if Cleveland doesn't
win game six, that they don't have a shot of
winen game seven.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Honestly, I have no idea. I expect them to lose
Game six. I swear to God, like I just expect
the cavity. Yes, I think they're gonna lose Game six. Yeah,
I think we're going seven and then and then we
see what happens from there.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
I just think, I think I think if they obviously,
if they win game six, it's over. But I'm saying
if they lose the momentum that they've built these last three.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Games, I don't think you go back to Detroit and
win that one.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
I just I don't do you allow you allowed Detroit
that's still back the momentum.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
The series will end then.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
In Detroit in game seven, I still think it's sim winning.
I look, I look at what Detroit went through with
Orlando to where they were in a game six, they're
about to be an eight you know, a one seed
lose to an eight seed, and Orlando gagged away game
six and they came back and you know, they obviously
won Game seven and then moved on to this series.
(10:40):
They've got experience in this situation already in these playoffs.
It just wouldn't surprise me whatsoever if they come out,
they win that game and we get a Game seven,
and I think that's a coin flip. I think anybody
could win that game. I just it feels like one
of those series it's going to go the duration. And
if you're the NBA, you could use one of those
(11:00):
at this at this juncture, because you got two teams
that are sitting at home and have been there about
a month and a half waiting for somebody to play.
And so I just I look at it, and I
if I was gunned to my head, I would say,
I think Detroit probably wins Game six and then game
Game seven is a coin flip. But again, that's good
news for you as a Cavs fan, because some of
(11:21):
my picks are awful, not all of them, just some
of them.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
No I was just gonna say, well, and most of
them not some most say the vast majority of saying
eighty eighty five percent.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
But that's neither here nor there.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
But again, this entire series I've called since the Calves
were down two oh, and I know LaVar is not here.
He unfortunately has has been on the opposite side of that.
You now seem like you're on the opposite side of this.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
No, I will win it.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
I will continue forward. Calves win in game six, series
is closed, and we move on to the Eastern Conference Finals, right,
I mean, so this is gonna good. Look, I think
I think it's I mean, you have to think about this.
Dan Gilbert busts up with foreigner fans. Yeah, that's awesome.
He brought that up. So now he did this for
(12:08):
uh was it Games one? Yeah, so season ticket holders,
he took up their food, all expenses paid to kind
of treat them so they could, you know, somehow get
some sort of a fan base in Detroit to watch
these games.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
And then they did it again last night. I don't know.
I think he kind of gets labeled as the guy
who you know, went you know, viral for his comments
about Lebron James when Lebron left and he took it
all personal and whatnot. But it feels like he's done
some pretty cool things for for some of the fans
there in the area, and this being one of them
to where he's been able to, you know, get all
(12:45):
the fans up there season ticket holders, rather pay for food,
pay for drink, you know, let him have a good
time and try and even the odds there from a
fan base standpoint, So good for.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Him, Manah.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
I mean, I think the only the only downside of
that entire trip is if they actually had to go
up there to Little Caesars and actually eat Little Caesars,
that'd be going outside. Ah, come on, of all the
big chain pizzas. No, no, I mean I feel like
unless you're.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
From Michigan, you can't seriously like Little Caesars.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Well, it got me through a lot of lean times
when I was doing radio and Charleston because listen, I'm
with you, reverend. They used to have there was like
in North Charleston, where's the hot readies?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Like that's the only good thing they've.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
DoD Well, so they would do five dollar pizzas at
the kmart. There was a kmart around the corner and
they had a little Caesars inside the kmart in North Charleston.
For anybody listening to Charleston, you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
This was bad two thousand and what five Like what
year was this, two thousand and eight and nine?
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Okay, everything was like five bucks pizza. Yeah, but you
can't reference something.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Over twenty years ago.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Maybe it was a little.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Cheaper, yeah, but you know what, You've got to harken
back to the good old days when Little Caesars got
listened and that was the move five dollars. I'd get
a large pizza. I need half early in the day
and then the other half later in the day, lean times.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
So you're lactose intolerance, So how do you eat a
cheese pizza?
Speaker 5 (14:07):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (14:07):
It was rough. It was rough.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
And then you know, like drinking piggly wiggly coffee, piggly
wiggly store brand coffee. It would run through me like
you say bolt. If Usain Bolt was crap, it ran
right through me as fast as it could.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
But it you know, killed reverent Galcout. Galcout's the new
Usain Bolt.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
All that's right? Is that what he said?
Speaker 2 (14:33):
The two hundreds I has to do that of Australia.
It's ridiculously fast. But well, let's not get distracted, let's
not get off topic.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Okay, it was awesome what Dan Gilbert did. But furthermore,
Game six will be rocking. That place is going to
be out of control, Cavs fans going to show up.
It'll be a too tough of an environment, and that
game that serious over and six.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
I'm just telling you right now.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
I mean, and courtesy of our friends at DraftKings, four
and a half point favorites all the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
That's concerning because Detroit, I believe, was four and a
half point favorites last night.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
So yeah, he almost wondered if DraftKings was like, yeah, whatever,
just run it back just you know, doesn't matter at
this point, Like why do we need to, you know,
break down the numbers. Let's just run it.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Back, Hey, Bill, what number sounds a good for all right,
we'll put that down there.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
But no, that's that's awesome, man, And good for Dan
Gilbert for doing that. And then now we get to
see how the Pistons respond and it's gonna be gonna
be a fun environment. And like we said, let him
know man, let him know, hashtag let him know, and
the Cavs are trying to let him know. And it's
a great feel good story for James Harden. And there's
a lot of people out there that have been spewing
(15:43):
takes about James Harden because you could just dust him
off and bring him back all these years later. And
he stuck it to everybody last night on a big stage.
Happy for that.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yes he has, you know, putting all those talks about
him being too old and can't score, can't.
Speaker 2 (15:57):

Yeah, I just figured i'd give y'all the first segment.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, that's what we thought.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
That's what blov Yeah now bars well yeah, alvar, all right,
where y'all want to be? Yea damn straight. We are
win a game six, moving on now. It might end
in the Eastern Conference finals.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
But you know you called it though, I mean, good
for you. You called it two games in a row. I mean,
whether they win it or not, you did say they
will run two games and two games off. So there
you go.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
In a row.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
That's three in a row.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Yeah, they're up three two.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I know they're up three. I thought they already had
one down to no, they're down to Oh dang, yeah, well, uh.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
You don't seem to be as excited as I am.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
I mean, I'm gonna say I'm gonna say this. I'm
gonna say this. I have road with the Cavaliers. I
picked them as the team last year and they let
me down. I believe I picked them as the team
the year before and they let me down.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
So this doesn't sound true. Your track rereck with Cleveland's
not goodding.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
No, no, no, no. I was. I was high on them.
I was high on them. And I know that one
of the injury, but not more than one, not more
than one. I think there was. Maybe it was Spider
Mitchell maybe maybe more than one year with Spidey and
not just maybe not Cleveland, Utah.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
I think they call him Spider, not mistaken, not Spider.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Okay, I'm just I used I used Spider with with
with with with the why I didn't go hardy or
and but I didn't go soft day either, So I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
I do know this.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
They showed up, he showed up. He played a hell
of a game. Jeez, James Harden must have been listening
to our show. I mean, people saying that he was
using Zest's body wash. You know what I mean, he
might have been Cleann't whatn't wasn't James Harten, But you
know I showed up last night.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I think Harden probably, you know, in all seriousness, I
think he probably does listen to this show because he
is a big strip club guy. And you know, when
you're walking out and it's you know, six twenty seven
in the morning Eastern time, you know you're getting an
uber to get home, you know, you listen to that guy.
That guy's got us on the iHeart radio out for sure.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
I wasn't speaking very highly of him, but he showed
up last night. They showed up last night, and listen, Kate,
Kate Cunningham. He went cold in the second quarter. You know,
they still look like they were about to to kind
of cruise to a pretty good victory. Their second half team,
(21:51):
Cleveland appears to be a second half team and Detroit
has not adjusted. This is two games in a row
now that in the second half Detroit wasn't able to
answer the adjustments that in Cleveland were able to adapt
and adjust to to what it was that they needed
to do and overtook overtook Detroit I was when it
(22:15):
went to overtime. I was like, they're gonna lose. Like,
I was, like, they're gonna lose.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Also a little bit of a shout out here to
Max Strus up top, Brady I was talking about right there.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Max little Ice cold shot shot uh Ice cold blood
in his veins. You know, they they did good, they
did well. But I do not I do not see
anybody beating the Knicks. I don't. I don't see anybody
beating the Knicks. But they look good. I mean, Detroit
(22:48):
has been this team since the playoffs has started. For
some reason, they're not playing at a high level consistently.
It's almost like they had like in that third quarter,
they had like a really really long spurt of just
laxa daisical shots, like almost like they were in a
(23:10):
shoot around. But in the game and the way they
were like taking their shots, the the missed shots, and
and you know, in Cleveland kept playing hard and they
were able to get boards, and I mean even even
James Harden getting his own rebound on the missed free throw.
(23:30):
It just didn't it just didn't seem like as as
professional ball. At some points during that game that that
Detroit realized that they were still professionals in a playoff game.
It just I don't know, so, I mean, they got
to tighten up if they're going, if they're going to
(23:51):
have any chance of trying to climb back, they they
got to tighten up.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
I mean I would say this, Uh, that's no way
to handle being a favorite in an NBA playoff game
at home. And speaking of which, the PGA Championship is
this weekend and it starts today.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
That's right, that's right, baby.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Have you seen another segment I took var Happy You're
back O.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
The PGA Championship is this week next segment. And let
me just say this. I don't know that people are
aware of this, but Scotty Scheffler is the favorite to
win the PGA Championship. He's been the favorite to win
the last fourteen majors. That's the run that he's on.
Pure dominance by Scotty Scheffler.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
He's that good. I mean, that's that's how he's been.
Rory's right behind him at number two by a sizeable marching.
And there was a little talk yesterday in regards to
like course conditions everything else, but one of the conversations
I started.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Was on Rory's best day and Scotty's best day. Who wins?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
And you know there's there's a thought out there by
some folks that it's Scotty Scheffler, you know, even when
Rory plays at his best. And I think the the
outright winning betting odds would give you a sense of that.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Sky Scheffler plus three eighty.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Five right now according to our friends at DraftKings as
compared to Rory. So, uh, we are we gonna pick
some names from the hat though, probably should something.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
I mean, listen, I'm in, you know, you know, I'm always.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I don't know, I'm out Patty. Patty always gives Jonas
the winner.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Yeah, but here's can I say.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
I could care less about if I win or if
I lose, So I don't. I'm out.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
I would like to see, guys, I think we should
have LeVar play. I would like to. I would like
to say this. If I get Rory McElroy again, I'm
out too, because I cannot deal with the fact that
ry McElroy got a blister and needed to be carted
off yesterday of practice. Okay, well, come on, man, that's
(25:57):
one of those injuries, don't says, Okay, don't say anything
until afterwards and see how the tournament goes. I mean
he's checking his blister, you know, like he just walked
off Gettysburg. It's not like, come on, man, like, we
don't need to make this a big production. We get it.
You're you're you feel like you're overwhelmed by Scotti Scheffler.
(26:17):
You feel like you're not You don't have a great
opportunity here. You just won the Masters, We got it.
Speaker 9 (26:22):
Man.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
You don't need to look down at your foot like
what happened? Okay, Like you didn't step in a bear trap,
you got a blister. Like, let's let's calm down here
with some of this stuff.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
As bad as that was, nothing equates to Michael Block.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
I mean, it's just can we move on from this?
Can we stop like the.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
Whole let's have the Block parties back, like, can we
get can we get over this? And he pops up
every once in a while, and he always does something
that makes you be like, I cannot believe there are
people out there who are condoning this. So before he
was seeing a t shot, I don't want to say
it was yesterday, maybe the day before h and then look,
(27:03):
these are their practice rounds, right in some cases they're
pro ams. He's talking to the crowd, you know exactly
how he's gonna hit it, and he needs a little
more crowd noise and whatnot that he blocks it right
and misses the fair way to the rough and people
start booing them, which.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
He then got a little bit defensive about.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
But I just, I mean, I don't know what it
is with the fascination with Michael Block.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
I really don't.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
And for people out there who like think his story
just started when he like got invited to one of
the major events. He'd been trying to get his tour
card forever, and I yeah, it's just it's a tough
storyline in golf, man, it really is.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
What I know, what you don't talking about something what
you're talking about on radio show man.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Yeah, but this is the problem. I mean, you got
a mixture of blowhards in golf that are gonna love this.
It's to getting the hole guys, you know, it's the
guys that you the hole during the.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Guy's read golf spy. Can we pick some names of
a hat yet? Can we get this done? And we've
got we've got the list. We've gott hat.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Is he Brady Quinn on tell your television?
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Oh, I don't say anything.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
First off, wait he go on on the green.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
You got to understand, I grew up in an area
that had an annual golf PGA Tour event, and so
that was that was.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
The spot where people would get loose.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
They would have house parties and they were there would
be sponsored house parties, and they would get absolutely hammered.
So that was my first introduction to golf. Whereas most
people were like, oh, yeah, it's it's like a very
proper etiquette, I was like, no, it's not not. From
what I've seen, everyone seems to just go and watch
a little bit of golf and can get hammered.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
That's that's what I wouldness.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
You grew up in waste management before the waste management event.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Basicly, I mean it was like that on the course,
but off the course at the house parties. Oh yeah,
I mean it was definitely like that. And and that's
where like people come back from college and be.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Like, hey man, it's turnament time.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
I'm going to stop the house parties, and you're like,
all right, let's try to stick over to see what's
going on there and that.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Was that was like the whole deal is if you
could parking, you want to stop over. There was there
was a turn I think it was Tigers tournament that
was at Lake Sherwood and my brother managed a restaurant
that was up the road and after you know, like
there'd be a lot of celebrities.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Like called Lake Sherwood back then.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Yeah, lake it's Lake Sherwood, Sherwood country Club, you know,
it was Sherwood Country Club, right, yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
It was in it was in Lake Sherwood and so
in Lake Sherwood, but it was called Sherwood. That's called
Sherwood country It was like, I don't know, it's a
real ritty area.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
It's called Sherwood Country Club, but it's in Is that
because they shot Sherwood there?
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Right? Wasn't that the story behind it? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
You think I get in the gates there they shot U?
Speaker 2 (30:00):
You mean Robin Hood? Yeah, yeah, Robin Hood.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Robin almost said Peter Pan by the way, Robberhood of Locksley.
If I got near the gates of if I got
near the gates of Sherwood in my truck, I would
be arrested and escorted out like there was just it's
not a place for me.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
I will say this, I went to that place once,
and you are not lying.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Like when we went in there, that was a nice
ass neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Oh my god, it's crazy. Yes, the homes were ridiculous
and the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (30:29):
But yeah, I remember those like some of those golfers
after the event and they would go into the place
my brother worked at and they get after it, man
like it was not like there was and they had fans.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
We did the Super Bowl dorm waste Management. I went,
I went to Mastro. I went to Mastros and you
could clearly see the difference between the demographics of people
in one place.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
You saw who were in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
You saw who the Super Bowl fans were, You saw
who Waste Management fans, and the Waste Management fans were
clearly winning the I'm faded content two.
Speaker 8 (31:09):
You know.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
It's great though. At the when when Fox had the
US Open, it was at Oakmont in Pennsylvania, and we
went out there to cover the event. And so we
go out there and there's a few of the shows
that are there and I remember walking around the course.
The Penguins had just won the Stanley Cup. They had
just had their parade, and so some of the Penguin
(31:30):
players and Oakmont's a really nice course in a really
really nice area. Hard so you could tell which ones
for the hockey players because these guys walked in drinking beers,
in shorts and flip flops, didn't give a rip, and
nobody said a thing to them. They just they had
carte blanche to do whatever they wanted there on the court.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
Were you producing at that point, yeah, producing and hosting
a little Yeah, it.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Was okay, Well I was saying that was fair.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
J Moore, Yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Come on, I'm trying to track that back to when
I was Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
I think there's the biggest misconception that there's not a
ton of boozing that goes on around golf tournaments. That's
that's basically how you have to watch other people play
golf is you have to booze you if you are
dead sober watching another person play golf. And this is
obviously referring to people who are, you know, within the
drinking age. I'm just saying, no, you're a psycho. For forget,
(32:27):
forget you, you are a psycho if you can watch golf.
If you walk around a course dead sober watching golf.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Man, you were got, by the way, I was unaware.
I was unaware until you just mentioned that. You so
some of these tools where golf spikes to go.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
I don't think they do as much anymore, but there
are definitely some golf traditionalists that would dress up with
the proper attire, almost like if one of the players
went down, they get tapped in, you know, like a
w W wrestling that it's like, oh, oh, man.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
I can't do it. I got a blister. What's your name? Phil? Phil? Okay, Phil,
come on, and you got to take my place?
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Like it.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
It was almost like they thought, maybe there's a shot
if someone sees me dressed like a golfer, I will
get tapped in to come finish the rest of this round.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
All right, So we do have the names ready, h
to draw the names. They are all inside Patty's hat.
Patrick Sweek has got a hat. Giant yeah, mue bucket Patty's.
By the way, Patty's hat was used on Mount Rushmore
to stop rain from getting on me. I think you
(33:39):
could fit one hundred koyfish in there.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Damn.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
I told you we're not friends anymore. Man, it's official.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Nothing absolutely nothing to do.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
I don't condone that with We've noticed a change in Lareda,
like she does not come to the office anymore.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
She ball was like that was.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Very mean ever since she got back from Morgan.
Speaker 9 (34:04):
Man.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Yeah, well it was like just a a little bit before.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Then someone turned the switch around.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
That I mean.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Flipped the switch they or turned it off, click the switch.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
I don't know they clicked that switch.
Speaker 9 (34:26):
All right, Well, I'm gonna pick who gets to go first.
We'll do it kind of on a fast win between
Jonas Brady var Any meaning miney. You know what, Brady,
you get to go first. I'm gonna let you go,
and I I'm gonna pick it from the hat right now.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Let's say.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
Big bucksais big Bucks and whamis Scotty Scheffler please?
Speaker 9 (34:45):
And the winner is the hat has chosen Ludwig Oberg.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Like that.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Yeah, he's got a sweet swing, isn't it Aberg or
Auburg whatever whatever it was? Aberg he might win the
next Maybe if he wins, will.
Speaker 9 (35:03):
Know that's fair between Jonas far Jonas far.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Of course for next so that you know what should
we just should we skip the pick Brooks.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Should we do that again, We'll skip the pig giving
Brooks kopka.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
You know, I'm just fine.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Let's give it. You get brooks kemk.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
All right, way to go, Patty that big as out
of yours. I do well, you're just going to give me.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Hey one one linebacker just like another man.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
There.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
You get two linebackers, you and brooks kep just.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Two linebackers, one support and the other that l b U.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Baby by the way. By the way, Wemby could cold
plunge in Patty's hat.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
All right, let's give the ray Who is Ray Ray Gatting?
Speaker 1 (35:55):
I can put my own give me that, all right,
here's the hat. Oh, my arm is long enough. Hold
on a second cod here?
Speaker 2 (36:02):
Okay, here take it hot?
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Wait help, I got Matt Fitzpatrick. Oh dice, that doesn't
sound you don't actually sound excited about guaranteed he's fine.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
I don't think he's gonna win it, but he's fine.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
All right, you go first. I won the Masters, so
I'll let.
Speaker 9 (36:25):
All right, I have chosen Cameron Young.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Okay, bring you the hot Jonas? All right, No, I
can I can reach through their my arms long enough.
Speaker 9 (36:38):
They're not she's actually going in folks, hold on, the

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Are we doing snake draft? All grab two and we
just go back and revert to you that yes, yes,

You know I'm into this. John Ram who doesn't answer
questions about live and Tommy fleet would all right, that'll work.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Oh Tommy Fleetwood Wood, Tommy Fleetwood, you selected Tommy.
Speaker 1 (37:07):

let's go far No, come on, no, I already got
VARs lined up.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
He has Xander chaff Oh nice, let's go one, two, three,
Scottie Scheffler to Brady Quinn A.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Bit, when's whens?
Speaker 4 (37:57):
I don't I don't see how we do this. Why
don't should just pick who you guys want? Hey, I'm
not gonna pick anybody because I don't care.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Wait a second, LaVar you guys, Xander Shoffley, you know
what that means.
Speaker 4 (38:09):

du Brady Quinn, you were saying.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Yes, So I've been to Sherwood Country Club. It is
a beautiful club, great people there, really awesome course and
all that. While I was there, though, someone brought to
my attention that they had had someone who was a
member who I guess they had transitioned at one point
and they're already a good golfer, but then when they
(39:57):
change teas, it made it basically impossible to beat that person,
and now they no longer were being bet against.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
So it was like, you know, you know, they were
in a lot of different.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Games or they're betting, you know, playing competitively, and then
after the transition, because of you know, playing from teas
that were even closer to the hole, it got near
impossible to beat them.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
So they just stopped playing against that person.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
I don't know, So why do you hold that against me?
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Well, I don't know that you've ever owned up to that,
but I've also seen you swing a golf club, so you.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
Probably you never completed your transition that var.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Didn't you just make a bet as well? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (40:46):
Bar made a sex change bet too.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
Was that the Calves Detroit series?
Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah it might have been.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Yeah, I think Patty kept did we f hate that?
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Oh I have a home, let me pull it up?
Speaker 2 (40:58):
Oh no, oh no, so we played Jonases first. I mean,
it's just good to remind people.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Can I add some context to mine, because I think
for new listeners it might be a little confusing.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Back to the context.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Okay, So back when Brady and I were doing a
Sunday night show together, there was a report that Tony Romo,
and this was years ago, was going to get ten
million dollars a year to re up his broadcast deal.
As it turned out, I think he had eighteen, so
I was way off. But I said this in regards
to buying the story about Tony Romo back back in
the day. So this is, uh, do we have the Yeah.
(41:35):
So this is because I think people hear this and
they go, God, this, this is outrageous. But it was
a different, different time back then, and I didn't actually
think CBS was going to give him ten million dollars.
By the way, if Tony Romo gets ten million dollars
a year, I'm getting a sex change.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
But just ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, I agree, I agree he shouldn't have gotten ten million.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Oh we do the clay VARs Cavaliers win this series
get a sex change.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
We got him.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Mar Let's go to Sherwood.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
You want friends there, Come on, Mar, that is wild.
