Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two pros and a cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio.
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming
up on this Wednesday edition, the NFL season kicks off
later tonight. And guess what? We are going to make
our picks for the season. Division winners, wildcard teams, eventual
Super Bowl winners. as Super Bowl 61 takes place at

(00:20):
SoFi Stadium coming up at the end of this season.
And by the time you get to the end of
this podcast, you're going to hear from Petros Papadakis, who's
got thoughts on the fiasco in Michigan, one of the
bright spots from the weekend in college football, and how
he feels about Lane Kiffin. You're also going to hear
us discuss what the MAAC plans on doing when it
comes to the controversy in Ann Arbor from the other night.

(00:43):
Pretty much nothing at all, and neither is the SEC
when it comes to LSU and their threats to go
along with it. You remember Baker Mayfield's threat, all that
stuff he was throwing out there? As it turns out,
they all show up just like they always do. Plus,
we've got our midweek awards and the usual fun stuff.
It's all yours. Coming up next here, it's two pros
and a cup of joe on a Wednesday, Fox Sports Radio.

(01:04):
And away we go. It is two pros and a
cup of joe here on Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. This is football related.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
What? This song is football related. Well, I don't know
how football.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Related it is. What do you mean? Season's here, baby.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
This ain't football music, bro. Y'all weird. Y'all weird ass.
I'm going to make fun of y'all songs at the
beginning of every single hour.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, well, you know where you can do that on?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Where?

Speaker 1 (01:40):

entire job delivered when and where you need it, brought

the NFL season is finally here.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
LaVarrington is finally here. Yeah, baby. On a Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
What the F?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Whoa.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
I guess it's finally here based off of that song.
Because that song totally set the tone for me. I'm
surprised Lorena didn't complain about that, you know, that song
in particular.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
That was a great song, Jonas. There you go. Great
energy coming in. It was wonderful. I'll be honest with you,
upon further review. There you go. Not great.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Hey, man, you know, I love picking on me. I
don't pick on you. You know, the overweight black dude
from Pittsburgh. The obese one. Jacked up. Yeah, jacked up.
And you joined in on it. Like, see how you
just joined in?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
You know, it's fine. I get it. I get it.
It's fine. It's all right. I didn't say you're obese.
You up top, boys. That's not true. Oh, we're doing
this again? That's a huge bitch. That's not true.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
You've added Lorena to.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
LaVar, you look great. No, don't do it.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
You've added Lorena to your ring of up top boy-isms,
and I just don't like it.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I hated your song. I hated it.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I can't wait to say I hate Brady's.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I hate it. I hate. I hated it.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
I don't know if you're going to hate mine. If
you do, I feel like you may be in conflict.
I'll just leave it at that.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
What's the theme of your song? What did you base
picking your song off of?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Football. Thank you. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I just can't believe that that's what Jonas based his
decision off of. There's no way that song was based
off of football. That was based off of this is
a bridge and I'm going to jump.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Oh, my God. I mean, look, man. My goodness. I'm
just saying. You know, it was very chaotic. It was
a very chaotic song. It's the start of the NFL season. OK.
You know, some of the NFL songs I would prefer
not to play because they are not... you know, part
of the family. So I go, all right, I'm going to, uh,

(04:21):
I'm going to look at a different direction. But what
exactly does that mean? That being said, uh, not a
great choice. Uh, that'll probably be changed here in, uh,
about an hour. I want to figure out the next, uh,
what's the name of your song here? It just wasn't good. Uh,
I think I, I tried to.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Uh, Lorraine was very supportive though, you know, I thought.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
It had good energy. There you go. You know, to
kick off a show, you want a song that has
good energy? What was the name of it? Counterfeit. Exactly. Yeah.
That was a counterfeit music. Now, that said.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Baker Mayfield, money ain't counterfeit, I'll tell you that.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Did you say counterfeit by Limp Bizkit? That is correct.
But it is.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Well, we never heard Limp Bizkit.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Can I just say this? Anybody else find it a
little odd, not just the music, but a little odd
that we're kicking off an NFL season on a Wednesday?
That is odd. Wednesday. That is a little odd.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
It is.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I brought this up a while back.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
You did.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I think it's weird they're going to play on 9-11.
I think that's weird. I think it is. You're an idiot.
He's just an idiot.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Hey, bro, this is one of them moments. I would
have headlocked him. I would have headlocked Brady Quinn. Tall-ass
quarterbacking ass. It would have been a headlock.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
On all of us. Your reaction was worth every.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I was really supportive of you until I saw what
you were doing.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
He couldn't even get it out without laughing at the end. Oh,
you're the best. He is such a baboon. You're the best.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
It's very nice of you guys.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
You're the best.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I will say this.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
You're probably going to win the bet, though, because someone
told me there's like, I don't know if it's something
coming out, but there will be something about Racine and
Vrabel coming up.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
It'll go into week one. well there was an article
I'm over it well there was an article written on
ESPN a couple of days ago where they talked and
it was basically just acknowledging where, you know, Vrabel and Rossini,
you know, said that there was, you know, no back
and forth, no whatever, but that Vrabel's main concern was

(06:43):
trying to protect her journalistic integrity or whatever you want
to call it. And, and he just, I must've missed that. So,
so he, so he wanted journalistic integrity. So it basically
confirmed that they spoke and corroborated their statements initially when
it came out. And then when you go back to

(07:04):
the Hall of Fame game, even Mike Tomlin spoke about
what this story could mean if they start losing games
and so on and so forth. And so we're here
all these months later, and there's rumors that Rossini's making
her media return soon, that that's in the works. We
don't know what that is, but it does feel like

(07:24):
this is going to get brought up at some point
on the broadcast tonight.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
So, LeVar, I'm over it. I've moved on from it.
Win or lose the bet, I don't care. I thought
it would be a story. I thought it would be
a bigger story than.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
What it is.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I mean, it kind of died down.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
It got overtaken by East Palestine, Ohio. Yeah, I mean,
that is true. That didn't help its case. It came
to a screeching halt if there was any momentum.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
I mean, but here's the thing, right? Again, Jed York,
he pays his players millions and millions of dollars, even
guarantees a lot of those millions, but will only offer
somebody who's going to give him a better service than
any of his other players. And he offers her 140.
That's to start with. But we didn't see him with anyone.

(08:19):
And he's divorced. According to Michael Irvin, same thing is
going on a date.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
It is.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yeah. All he had to do was have some honey buns.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Date night. Where are we going? Trailer park.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
All he needed to have was some honey buns, some
bologna sandwiches, and some Huggies ready to go, and some
Red Pop. And what are we talking about right now?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Nothing.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
What are you here for, sir? Picnic. I'm here for
a dinner date. What are you here for? I'm just saying.
You had to pay for the Huggies. You had to
pay for the Red Pop. Maybe not the bologna sandwiches,
but maybe the bread and the bologna.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Maybe.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
I'm just saying, bro. You saw them eye-gazing, holding hands
like they were at the altar getting married.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Would you say that the two biggest scandals in the
NFL this offseason would be Vrabel and then the Jed York.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
And if you want to call the Kyle Shanahan stuff.
The drug dealing joint dip one. Oh, Terry and Arnold?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, that might be the biggest one, honestly. Yeah, that's
a big one as well, too. That's a big one.
But at least Jed York's in the conversation, right?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah, he's in the conversation. I mean, Kyle Shanahan has
to be, like, number three. And those are two of
the four teams that are playing to open up the
NFL season.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
You've got to love it. Reality TV.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
And Puka Nakua, who tried to eat a human being.
Puka's a good one. I mean, because there's photos. When
the evidence is there, like, to me, the police, pulling
over Jed York, that's like, that wasn't crazy compelling to me,
other than the fact that he has zero drip. His
drip factor is on E. Somebody needs to help him

(10:12):
on being able to dress. I don't know what he
looks like in a suit, but his casual game is weak.
That was the only thing that I took from that
video with the police officers. Now, the pictures of Mike Vrabel,
that's compelling. That's like, I want to know what's going on.
The Kyle Shanahan story, why did y'all take so long

(10:34):
to report that? That's still unclear to this day. That's compelling.
That's interesting. And obviously, if you got dudes rolling up
on people with, Tech nines and shotguns and stuff like that.
You doing whatever dude was doing. That's compelling content. But
I think Jed York is like fourth. I think Mike

(10:58):
Mike Vrabel and Diana Rossini probably fighting for one. No
lower than two.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
And that's what we get to open up the air. Well,
there you go.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
But he's moved on. And the way he answers the questions,
he's clearly supported in what he's doing. Because if he
wasn't supported, he would have to give more explanation in
these circumstances. But he's supported in what it is that
he's doing. So he's moved on. Like, I'm focused on football. Well,
what's Robert Kraft going to do? Hey, buddy, get it together.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Hey, Bob.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
He's going to tell him exactly how to handle it.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Hey, Bob. Why don't you just relax, buddy? Just relax.
Quick Google search and we find out what an oddball
you are too. Okay. Let's just calm down here. But
the NFL season's here.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well, it is here. And Baker Mayfield, he was a
part of no scandals this offseason.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Listen, I tried to tell you guys, man, this deal
was going to get done. You guys were all worried
about it. They always do. Baker Mayfield was going to
get his deal done.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
They always do.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
It's a three-year deal. It's going to average $ 55 million
a year. Put some high up the charts.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
And....

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Do they go out the total guarantees of signing yet?
I mean, it's going to be somewhere around, I bet
it's like 120, 130, somewhere in there.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Calling your shot? Yeah, I already did the first time
with this.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Did anyone believe him when he's like, nope, nope, not
going to do it, not going to do a contract
before the season starts?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
It's like, come on, man. This is how the Bucs
have done it for.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Him past years and We're going through all this hoopla
with the media.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Like, come on, dude.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
You're not going to turn that into that much money.
You're going to get this deal done. They're going to
give you their best offer before the season. It's going
to be too much money for you to turn down.
That's how it works. This happens every year. It's kind
of getting tiring of dealing with this. I'm seeing new guarantees,
$ 110 million, total guaranteed $ 150 million, including the 2026 money.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Okay. Yeah. There you go.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
It's about $ 50 a year guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Congrats, Baker. You're deserving of it.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, he earned it. It's been great.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah, I think he's done an excellent job. So congrats,
my guy. And, you know, congrats to Tampa Bay as well.
I think having a happy Baker Mayfield and a Baker
Mayfield that doesn't have his legs chopped out from under him,
the lame duck syndrome. going into the season is the

(13:26):
right move. And if I were Todd Bowles, that would
have been the move that I wanted to get done
before we started this season because Baker Mayfield's performances are
going to dictate if Todd Bowles has a job during
this season and after it concludes. So I think it

(13:48):
was a good situation altogether to have a stabilized relationship
and situation with Baker.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah. Good for them. Yeah, good for him. He survives
the mess that was the Cleveland Browns and the journey.
I mean, look at where they're at. Rams quarterback, Panthers,
all that. And here we are, Baker Mayfield's getting paid.
Sam Darnold just won a Super Bowl and both those
guys were on the same roster in Carolina. So I

(14:16):
guess I guess that's that goes to show you that
as it turns out, he's.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Starting on Pete Prisco's number one rated preseason team because
he just puts the Super Bowl champ there instead of
figuring out who's the best team.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
By the way, I don't. Are we planning on doing
our NFL picks for the season later on? I've got mine,
but Prisco really put me in a blender yesterday because
I was really caught up. The only one that I
really struggled with was the final wildcard spot for the AFC.
And it was really hard to pick Jacksonville because I'm like, man,

(14:50):
I just feel like Prisco's in my ear talking me
into it.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Neither one of those teams will be in the Super
Bowl this year. Yeah, I don't have to go to
the Super Bowl. Neither one of those teams will be
at the Super Bowl this year.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
I have a unique Super Bowl, a first-time Super Bowl,
especially for one franchise. Okay. So drop that little tease
on you there. Nice.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Are you ready for some football?

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Thank you, Mr. President. But yes, this is the start
of the NFL season. And here we go on a
Wednesday night with the Pats and the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
How y'all doing, man? How y'all feeling?

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Good. Are we doing our NFL picks today? I feel
like it's a little bit early, but I guess we
have to. I mean, I got them. If you want
to wait till later in the week, we could wait
till later in the week. I mean, unless you guys
think that these games might impact your picks.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
How exactly are we? No, I can do my picks today.
I'm just saying how many... are we doing? Like every
playoff round, what are we doing?

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Division winner, wildcard teams, Superbowl. Yeah. It's the, it's the
classic Jonas Knox.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Get me that format so I can fill it in.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Patty, please.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Can you get me like a piece of paper? So with,
with the titles on there, so I can, it'd be
fairly easy for me to do it.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
By the way, Patty's anything, Patty, anything that would help
him get the job done.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Speaking of getting the job done. Yeah.

Most disturbing break that I've experienced with you.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
The break when Jonas knocks to the air. Coming up in,
we'll call it 20 minutes from now.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
You got to help him, Q. There's no helping him.
It's going down. It's going back.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
He goes broke. He just does his own thing.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I mean, what he just did just now is not
even explainable. I'm concerned for him, for his own self-welfare, man.
It's a welfare check-in Wednesday, and you did not pass, bro.
You did not pass. I'm very worried about you.

Speaker 1 (18:17):

(18:39):
story that came out that the SEC is going to
vote about whether or not they're going to expel LSU? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Sure okay best team in the world right.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Now okay sure whatever you say guys you're gonna get
to get together and vote on thursday and then pete
sammel writes and well it's highly unlikely they would ever
go this route oh okay but we'll announce everybody we're
gonna have a vote here because they pissed us off
and they tried to add players and then the story
comes out that lsu has completed their roster without adding
any ex-nfl players so what was this whole thing It's like,

(19:13):
what was all this? So there's no more NFL players
that might be going to LSU. So what are we
talking about here?

Speaker 4 (19:19):
All right, we need to first stop by calling them
NFL players. They're guys who signed a contract, futures contract, something.
They weren't drafted. They weren't guys in that category. They
were given another year of eligibility. And so once they
either didn't think they were going to make a roster,
their agent told them they weren't going to make a roster,
or hell, maybe Lane Kiffin told them, hey, you're not

(19:40):
going to make that roster.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Come on here, you make ours.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
That's where they kind of got put in limbo, and
they wanted to take advantage of this opportunity.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
There's nothing wrong.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
With that in my eyes because they didn't know they
had this opportunity back when they first had to make
a decision and they thought.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
They had to leave.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
They had no more eligibility left. Then a judge makes
a decision in Colorado that changes things. The issue that
most people have with this is that Lane was a
part of enticing them to come back, to leave where
they're at, to come back because of what he could

(20:16):
provide for them at LSU. That is what the issue
is right now. And a lot of people are having
an issue with it because they originally voted— It was
a 16-0 vote.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Everyone agreed.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
And then after the vote, they come back and they're like, ah,
maybe we don't feel like that's necessarily the case. Or
that should be the punishment. Or maybe we've rethought some
of this. It doesn't make sense for these guys. Maybe
after this year, but not this year. You know what
I'm saying? It became very nuanced once they got done.
And that's where there's a disconnect, I think. So, again,

(20:51):
I understand what Lane's trying to do. He is trying
to provide them one more opportunity to play. I think
we all can agree it stinks for these young men who,
if January they found this out, they wouldn't have been
even entertaining the NFL.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
They would have stayed in college football. But that's not
the case. And so, do they get hurt in all this? Sure.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
Is their NFL dream dead? Probably not. They could probably
still try to make a team somewhere else as a
free agent. There's still those opportunities. Sometimes they may have
to wait until after this year. But There's a lot
of unfortunate stuff that happens like that in sports, and unfortunately,
that's the world we live in right now.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, man.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
I mean, how big of a decision is that to
say we don't want LSU anymore? It's a really big decision.
Very Captain Obvious. What would they do, guys?

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Oh, my gosh. What would they do?

Speaker 2 (21:48):
I mean, when does this take effect? If they are
voting on it, is that effective immediately? When does this
even take effect? So if it takes place immediately, they've
already got their game schedule. So what, they're not going
to allow the other SEC teams to play them?

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Everybody's got non-con games on their schedule all of a sudden.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I just think that that fallout would– That would be
an epic fallout. And what would that lawsuit look like?
And then where does that drag the NCAA? Where does
that drag the TV deals, the TV networks that are
involved in this? Where does this all go if the

(22:31):
SEC were to actually say, we're standing 10 toes down
on the fact that LSU did something that is amazing?
and you will not be a part of this conference anymore.
It's comedic to actually have this as an intelligent conversation.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Damn. You said it best, Kawhi. That was Plex.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
That was Plexical.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
It was close enough, though.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
He does such a good impression on Twitter. It was good.
It was good.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
But... It's comical to me because there's no way you
could even begin to think that that is serious in nature,
that they could actually render a judgment that says LSU
is not a part of the SEC.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
That's the OG of them.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Thanks, Plax. That was Kawhi. Oh, sorry. That's no worries.
So let's just say they did. All right, well, you know,
get out of here. We can't handle these sorts of
shenanigans in our conference. Well, then what?

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Then you become an independent. You have to make their
own conference. People act like this path hasn't been there.
I mean, LeVar Penn State used to be independent. That
would be exactly how this would work. They wouldn't be conference-affiliated.
They'd have to create their own schedule, and there would
be people who would be willing to play them, and
there would be other conferences that would be open. Dude,
the Big 12, you can't tell me the Big 12
would be like, hey— Who didn't think the LSU was

(24:09):
a Big 12 country?

Speaker 1 (24:10):
All right, come join the Big 12. Brett, your mark
would be on the phone the next second asking them
to join their conference. Without a doubt.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
They're a big ticket, and I wouldn't have a problem.
If I'm out here watching them.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
It's not even that.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
It's about money.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
It's about money.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I wouldn't have a problem with them being independent.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Be careful. But look at it this way.

Speaker 4 (24:31):
If they if they want to join another conference, the
reason why the conferences would be like, yeah, we're willing
to take that on. But here's our stipulations, like the
Big Ten. Are you going to go back against your word?
Didn't you just say like the SEC, you weren't going
to allow NFL players to be able to sign on
to your roster or players who have played, I should say,
or signed NFL contracts?

Speaker 1 (24:49):
If that's the case, you couldn't involve them in that.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
But the reason why they'd want them is because that's
a team that's going to get the money for making
the playoff, for winning games in the playoff, and going
each round. So that money gets spread amongst the conferences.
If LSU really is all about this life, go independent.
See if you can schedule your entire schedule and your opponents.
Then you keep whatever you make, man. You make it

(25:12):
in the playoff. You keep what you get.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
That's a dangerous move because– and not for LSU. That's
a dangerous move for conferences– It's a dangerous move for
the NCAA. It's a dangerous move for college athletics. Yeah,
but that independent conference is shaping up nicely. You got
Notre Dame, LSU, and UConn.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
I mean, come on.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
You're going to throw UConn in there, huh?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Yeah, they're independent. 1-0.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Here's what I'll say to that.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Jason Candle taking over?

Speaker 2 (25:41):
If you have a team and a... and Notre Dame
that has successfully done it. In fact, they've done it
so successfully, you can't talk them into being with a conference.
You can't convince Notre Dame.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
It's beneath them.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
It's not that it's beneath them. It's just that why
would we give you our brand to leverage making more
money that we need to split with you when we
can get that money already? That doesn't math out. You
could create that with some of these programs, LSU being

(26:20):
one of them, and this being particularly one of those
specific moments in time where you got enough swag factor
to actually do it. And you got a coach that
wouldn't even be bothered by all of the ridicule and
all of the harsh feelings and words and all that

(26:42):
stuff that would come along with it. You got the
right guy for the job. He said it. Don't nobody
want to see us win. The world doesn't want to
see you win. But you know what we can give them?

Speaker 1 (26:55):
A big F you.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
I mean like it's perfect timing and i think it's
dangerous because if that were to happen you force a
program like lsu in the exile and they come back
fed leader of the pack furry draws on and shoes
furry flip-flops.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
So what would be the What if they orchestrated a trade? Again,
this is all hypothetical, but let's just have fun with
this preposterous idea that they're going to get expelled. It's
like they brought a gun to school. I've got to
expel them. You can't come back to our school. I go, okay,
whatever you guys say. But let's just say this happened.

(27:38):
Or they decided, you know what? We'd like to trade
LSU forever. and we'll trade him to the Big Ten.
What would be a fair one-for-one compensation, team-for-team, Big Ten
SEC trade for LSU? I thought about that, but I
realized they're going to need more added on to that
to make that deal.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
We'll give you Rutgers and a lifetime supply of Jersey Mike's.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
And now later.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
For all team meals, you get a lifetime supply of
Jersey Mike's.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Taking it like that you get jersey mics and mike
and nikes yeah you know what i mean yeah yeah yep.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
We're taking it yeah it's just i don't know man
i i look at it and i go i think
everybody just needs to relax a little bit let's.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Just and then how down are you if you suspend
lsu how down are you on your opportunities to make
money off of the college football playoff How down are
you on the value of your school?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
That's ultimately why this is all a threat. I mean, look,
they've made the move they're going to make. They're not
going to bring on guys who've signed an NFL contract.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
This is just all posture.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
It's like Baker Mayfield saying, I'm not going to sign
a contract. My deadline's passed. I'm not going to do it.
How much money? Okay, where do I sign? It's... That's
how this stuff works. It's all posturing. It's all for
the media. It's all to put pressure on folks. And look,
based on how LSU looked versus Clemson, and then we'll
talk Dabo at some point, but I don't know that

(29:06):
they need anyone else. Like, they're pretty damn good with
what they got. And they look pretty dominant. To me,
they look like the best team in the country off
one game. That might be an overreaction to some, but
I think it's going to be a reality as the
games play on.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
You saw what he did. Are you clear on what
he did now?

Speaker 1 (29:24):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (29:25):
The conversation points that he was having during the break cue.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
You saw it? I don't. What was? Look down. Do
you see what I sent you? Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah, don't worry about it.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Look down.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Oh, yeah. Well, dude, that's what he talks about all
the time. What happened?

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Yeah, no, you weren't included on that one.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
He's got problems, man. You're not included on that one.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
All right.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
It's not super secret, buddy. We need to help you.
You can't say that on air. We need to help you.
You've got the dirtiest mind of... Dirty, dude. Dirty dude, man.
Super secret stuff going on here.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
You're like a piece of gum that falls to the
ground in New York City and just gets blown and
kicked around, picked up by a pigeon and dropped somewhere else.
Then maybe a swirl or a rat picks it up.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Then that hobo grabs and starts chewing on it.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
He starts chewing on it. That's your dirty ass mouth, Jonas.
That's a bum's Listerine. They'll lick the bottom of a
school desk if you ask them.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Okay. What? There'd be a lot of gum on the
bottom of them desks, bro.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
That's disgusting, man. I used to have to clean schools.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Is there more on the bottom of desks or seats
in school?

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Desks. I used to have to clean schools, and the
problem was if you would— You wouldn't do the job
for like a week, I think you said you did before. No,
that's not true. Like a week? Yeah. You've never— you worked
at a golf course. You wouldn't really know what an
actual job is. I've actually never worked at a golf
course my entire life.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Oh, but the bogey in— That should be tender.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
The bogey in— It was a restaurant. I was a busboy.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Attached to a golf course.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
No, there's no golf course attached to a golf course.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
I had to do demolition on a chicken coop.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
All right? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Don't talk to me about labor. Yeah, there's nothing worse
than shit and crap.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
That's a sicko.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Yeah, I mean, but he isn't lying. I mean, he
ain't told no lies. You are touched, Jonas Knox. I mean,
I would say this, though. What's that?

Speaker 1 (31:25):
If the SEC did kick LSU out, it would be
a new frontier for college football.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Ah!

Speaker 2 (31:31):
And I guess on their way out, they would pack
up all them Nissan Frontiers to pack up and leave
and go home. to wherever it is they would end
up going. And you know what? The Nissan Frontier can
handle that weight because it's made for the work week.
That's why you earn your weekends. That's right. If you're
ready to load up the tailgate, you're ready to enjoy

(31:51):
your weekends that you've earned. Make sure you check out
a 2026 Nissan Frontier.

Speaker 1 (31:57):

Speaker 1 (32:25):

think this is the goat of intro songs on this show.

(32:53):
It's two pros and a cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio Hey Lorraine I think this is the
goat of our intro songs It's my favorite I might
steal it Yeah put it back in rotation I think
I'm going to steal it Coming up, top of next hour. Yes, exactly.

(33:14):
A little over 12 minutes from now. Yes.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
We are going to find out what the result will
be and conclusion will be of one of the worst
things that one program has seen in the world of football.

That'll be yours again a little over 12 minutes from now.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Good thing the guys.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Are here to bring you in case you missed it.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Guys, in case you missed it, We've been chronicling what
was ultimately going to end up happening to a group
of people who tried to be bold, tried to be different,

(34:23):
tried to zig when everybody else was zagging, when there
were restrictions and rules like no shorts allowed here. You
had guys out there in Tommy Bahamas and polo shirts
playing somewhere in the Philippines in a tournament that not
that many people watched. But all that being said, there

(34:49):
was money handed out. There were paychecks upon paychecks given
to some of the top players in the world. But unfortunately,
it appears that it is currently winding down. As Liv
Golf has filed for bankruptcy protection. Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Currently in the process of proposing a new structure where
the players would take over majority ownership.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Of the tour. Court documents show that Jon Rahm is
owed more than $ 7. 6 million. damn bryson dechambeau is owed
more than 5.7 million a lot of money dustin johnson
who's got a rocket by his side at all times
five and a half million cam smith 4.8 million tyrell

(35:44):
hatton 3.4 million Hold me. Old Michelob Ultra-sponsored Brooks Koepka,
who was seen buying an 18-pack of Miller Lite after
a tour one time. He's owed $ 1. 7 million. So it
appears that this whole thing's winding down, and it's winding

(36:07):
down in a hurry for Live Golf, as we apparently
are starting to bid farewell. To somebody who tried to
be bold and just tried to be different.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
But unfortunately, going out in a whimper.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Hey, they tried, man.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
You know? bye you guys want to golf three days
instead of four bye we'll let you wear shorts and

(36:42):
here's 125 million dollars come on over hey wasn't wasn't
tiger woods a part of that deal they were trying
there was a.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Was it a billion dollars he didn't go yeah he
didn't go which is why everyone loves him for.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
It oh okay all right so he did make a
good decision I bet you if they would have offered
him something other than, never mind, never mind. So, never mind.
They might have been able to capture him. Can I
get a Perkins gift card and Jed York's alias when
you get a sec?

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Oh, boy.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
Or Tiger Freshwater. Maybe that would have worked.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
All right, so now what? Are they just going to
have to cut a check for these guys? No, man,
they go through bankruptcy.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
They're basically stating publicly they don't have the financial feasibility
to pay. So they'll have to settle that in court.
Is it a Chapter 7 or 11?

Speaker 2 (37:39):
11.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Okay, so it's a reorganization. So they'll try to... Come back.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
They're going to try to come back.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Yeah, they're trying to come back.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
They're going to try to negotiate down to pay whatever
they can, and then they'll start back up again. Someone
will look at it and say, all right, there might
be an opportunity there. I'm going to buy it for this,
and then they'll start over again.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
The MVP.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
Of this segment was the selection of Boyz II Men.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Boyz II Men.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Yeah, it was really whoever, whichever one of y'all that
chose it.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
That was MVP. Jonas, do not take my credit. You
know that was me. Okay, that was Lorraine. I don't
care who takes credit for it. Just know it's greatly appreciated.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
It was appreciated. It made the segment. Otherwise, this would
have been a boring ass vacation. And it would have
been a missed. for the in case you missed it
like let's miss this you know we started with pop
it and then we went to funeral music I mean
it was really good that's how you do it not funeral.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Music not funeral music what do you mean yeah don't
go through that.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Hey listen it's probably been played at a few funerals
oh for certain yeah I mean, we played it at
the Live Tour funeral today.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
That took place on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
I mean, and by the way, Brady's the golf expert
here on the show. You sound less than optimistic that
Live Golf's going to be able to figure this thing out.
I don't know where your negativity comes from here. It
seems like everything they've done has worked. The negativity comes from...
Some of the guys you just.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Mentioned who are owed millions aren't going to get millions.
And they're probably saying it's a wash. They probably won't
get anything. And those are the same guys that you
would need to come back to draw any interest in
this tour. I mean, there's a billion different issues that
this tour had.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Billion.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
And the one thing it didn't was money. It had
deep pockets. Now that's gone. So you know what you have?
Absolutely nothing. So yeah, those are the issues that I see.
No one wants to watch a minor league golf tour.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
They just don't. There's enough of those guys who are
walking around private clubs now who are really good. Some
of us don't want to watch the majors.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
And then there's that.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
They got to fight to get some people to watch it.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
By the way, in case you missed this, because I
think we were all sleeping at the time, congratulations to
Ben Shelton, who beat Carlos Alcaraz at the U.S. Open.
The match ended shortly after 3.30 a.m. Eastern time. They're
in New York, so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
3.30 a.m.? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Dang.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
They was out there late. Did they have a DJ
out there? Was they dancing in between sets?

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Kevin Hart was out there. Wang. Yep, all the way
up until the end. No kidding, man. I mean, why not?
Was he hiding in a solo cup? I just thought
it was past his bedtime. Wow. You know, you get
the joke.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
No?

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Okay.
